I forgot to answer the walking question. I would love to say yes, but I know that I won't do it at a scheduled time. We had a walkers group set up each morning on the 10 day and I missed it every single day! I do plan on doing lots of walking just not sure when or where! :)

Call Grandma Lightbulb and myself....we'll walk with you! :)

got your PM, just need more than 5 minutes to respond. :) seems like that's all i'm getting today...5 minutes here, 5 minutes there.

I will be taking care of our docs, however, after I left our park tickets at home for our May WDW trip Matt will be checking to make sure all of that informaiton is in the carry on well in advance of pulling out of the garage. As for packing - we both do it, however, I finish it and take/add things as necessary.

Oh and for our post trip stay at WDW I think that Disney is feeling that the parks won't be too busy that week as in the Mousesavers newsletter I discovered that the following places are all under refurb during our trip (some we know some are new to me):

  • The Living Seas (Epcot) closed for refurbishment 8/21/05 through sometime in November.
  • Restaurant Akershus (Princess Storybook Breakfast location in Epcot) closed for refurbishment 9/4/05-9/14/05.
  • ABC Commissary (Disney-MGM Studios) closed for refurbishment 9/6/05-9/12/05.
  • Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre (Disney-MGM Studios) closed for refurbishment 9/6/05-9/12/05.
  • Disney's All-Star Music Piano pool closed for refurbishment 9/6/05-9/14/05.
  • Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Old Man Island spa closed for refurbishment 9/6/05-9/23/05.
  • Boardwalk Inn's Keister Coaster pool slide closed for refurbishment 9/6/2005 - 9/26/2005.

I am so glad to hear that the docs are out for delivery.

I really could use some good news. I was in an traffic accident yesterday. I am fine, but my Saturn Vue looks pretty bad. The cop wrote it up as a no fault due to rain and malfunctioning traffic light. I felt so sorry for the 16 year old in the other car. He just knew his dad was going to kill him.

Good thing we decided to fly now. I am not sure if my car will be back before we leave.

I'm so glad that you are alright!

Do we know anything about the night entertainment, shows? Will they be special or the regular ones?

While we are on the subject of documents...who in your household will be responsible for them? Is each person responsible for their own or does one person take care of the entire family?

John makes sure all the things are taken care of at home (mail, lights, etc.), as well as packing his own clothes (of course, using a list that I provide of the activities of the day, weather, etc.). I am the one that makes sure that all the forms are filled out, all the reservations have been double checked, and that all forms of id needed go with us on the trip. We were at Staples a couple of weeks ago, and in the back-to-school area they had this new kind of expandable plastic folder called the backpack big mouth. It has index-tabbed folders inside of it. Needless to say, we got one for me to take on our trips--- organizing all our materials by what we need at the airport, what we need at the resort, what we need at the ship, what we need once we're on the ship.... you get the picture.

Robin, glad to hear that you're okay--- sorry about the Vue though.

No docs here yet in Northern Virginia

No Doc's here in Michigan yet! I figure tommorow or Thurs. As far as the questions go, I usually fill out the doc's, and I do all the ressie's and such. Lisa packs and is in charge of getting everything where it needs to be. She hasn't ever forgotten anything yet!!! Hey...who took all the smilies away??

I am off to get my allergy shots so I will check for docs when I get home.

Squid

I take allergy shots, too, but my DH gives them to me. Just gotta make sure he's in a good mood when he does it! :rotfl2: But it sure saves me alot of time spent at the allergy doctor's office waiting for the nurse to give them.

For those of us having to bring a birth certificate since we don't have passports, does anyone have a good way of carrying them? Mine and Gary's are the originals and have our foot prints on them (how cute they are :teeth: ) and I'd hate to have them all bent up when we get back.

Any suggestions?

I don't know if it's different in different states, but in Kansas we can't use the original birth certificates with the feet prints that the hospital gives us. We have to order one from the state office that says "certified" on it. I know many parents bring the hospital one to enroll their kids and have to come back when they get the certified one. Just wanted to give you a heads up. If you've used it for school enrollments, etc. then it should be okay.

This is true in NJ as well. I brought my original birth certificate on the Feb '03 Member Cruise, and they almost didn't let me board! I was told I needed to bring a certificate with a raised seal, which I promptly got when we returned from the cruise.

Cindy,

As far as birth cert's go...just make sure it is a certified copy with a raised seal. My seal was kinda getting old and it took them a min to see it last time. I sent for a new cert for this time to eliminate any possible problems. As far as carrying them, We just put ours in the safe in the room while we were on the ship. The only time we really needed them was when we went ashore it St Thomas, and we had time to put them away after clearing customs before we went ashore (Our first cruise was a 7 day eastern) I don't remember needing them at CC...but with my memory..I could be wrong LOL

Mike

Most of my my smilies are still missing...and Amy's Icon is too!!! :earseek:

I have them! I have the all!! Smilies, Icons, Pictures!! <insert evil laughing here>

It's raining here like it's never rained before. I hope this doesn't prevent the ups guy from bringing my docs!!

Some states don't have a "raised seal" so as long as you have a certified copy you should be fine (depending on your state's definition of certified).

I had no idea that our original birth certificates may be a problem. Here I was just trying to preserve our little foot prints. I'm glad I asked. :flower1: Thanks.

Gary has contacted the courts and we'll have our certified copies as soon as he has a chance to get over there. He planned to go at lunch today but there was a problem at work. I have no doubt it will be taken care of either by the end of the day today or at lunch tomorrow.

WOW! I'm shocked. We would have been there with our originals if I didn't ask. :earseek:

I tell you, if they didn't let us board, it would have been the biggest disappointment we ever suffered.    one for each of us!

But that's NOT going to happen........ :cool1:

Thanks to my DIS friends!!! :thewave: :thewave: :thewave:
