I had to laugh at this! I ask my DH regularly if he was adopted!

Join me to the club who thinks my DH was adopted. Mark treats me like an equal, but both his dad and his brother treats their wives as more subserviant.

Sounds like a DIS meet in Gail & John's cabin. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah party with Gail & John. Can you hook us up in the Walt Suite?

#2 - Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone? I collect memorabilia from anything I've been involved with. I have some very odd little bits around here as a result of that.

#3 - What's your favorite food? Asian. I can even enjoy a bowl of freshly prepared white rice if it's done right. Though my favoite sub item is Miso soup. The counter service in Epcot Japan has an excellent one.

#4 - If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town? Hm.... That's a hard one. From Morton Grove, not much. Maybe either the Chicago lakefront or maybe Botanical Gardens. Would depend a lot on what they'd be interested in seeing as well.

#5 What do you consider the one turning point in your life? Meeting Mary. In a way I was more idling along waiting to turn my life when I met the right person.

#6 What is your favorite childhood memory? Bike riding. I enjoyed riding all over the place.

#7 If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do? Go around behind the scenes and talk about the ideals and such while going over the reality of making it happen.

This has nothing to do with the cruise or anything else on this board, but I just had to tell someone. ....I just looked out in my back yard and there were 30 wild turkeys walking around out there. It looked like 3 or 4 hens with their chicks. We have a cat who is a true hunter. (she has caught at least 3 birds and dozens of frogs) She was stalking the turkeys until she got close enough to see how really BIG they are. then she decided to just watch, like the rest of us.

Wow Fred that sounds really cool. We came home from church one morning to find a deer in the yard, but 30 turkeys. Wow!

What do you consider the one turning point in your life? Definately the year I got married. It was a roller coast of emotions. Finding my true love, finding out I had cancer, beating cancer and finally walking down the aisle to spend my life with Mark.

What is your favorite childhood memory? Spending all day and all evening at the community pool Each year my mom would invest in a pool pass, a new swimsuit for us, and a new towel. We were set and spent many many hours there. It was less than a block from my house.

If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do? I would walk around Disneyland with him and want to hear about the parties and celebrations there. We'd have lunch at Club 33 and end the evening with fireworks.

Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone?
I'm a scrapbooker too. In addition I have a great collection of David Winter Cottages, Disney pins, and Disney Collector Society pieces.

What's your favorite food? A nice steak. Cook it medium with a nice baked potato and an ear of sweet corn and I'm in heaven.

If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town? I agree with Mark that there isn't much in Morton Grove. However I consider the Chicago area home so I think I'd take them down to Brookfield Zoo, then up to Botanical Garden.

What is your birth order? I'm the youngest of 2. I have a brother who is 5 years older and not really part of my life anymore. I joked with my mom that she and my dad broke up because they couldn't think of any more names. I'm Mary and he's John.

Mark,
Imway behind, but thanks for the movie of the ship.
I was trying to see how quickly she docked in real time.
Was it about 10 minutes.

Yes, I'd say about 10. They come up on the docking point surprisingly fast then sit there for a minute to align everything then slowly scoot sideways to the dock.

More a morning person than I used to be, so, a Ships' Kettle(tomato soup) goes along nicely with that tea order :)

Oh I think I have a date with my DH on the verandah one morning.

That's cool. DH would love that.

We have a bunch of quail that live outside our house. Just love seeing the whole family with the babies trailing behind. It's alot of fun to watch them!

Linda
here is a picture of the Turkeys

Another pic of Turkeys. It was amazing to see them all. We have had small groups of turkeys in the yard before, but nothing as numerous as this. If you look closely you can see 23 turkeys in this picture.

Ok I finally got caught up. Now let me see if I can answer all the questions that have been asked today.

2. What do you consider the one turning point in your life?
The birth of my son. I had lots of medical problems.

3. What is a favorite childhood memory?
Weekends at my Grandma Deluca's. My sister and I would trade off weekends and sleep at grandma's house. She would wake us on sunday mornings by cracking our toes or playing "Oh how I hate to get up in the Morning" om an old bugle she had. The it would off to church which was just across the street. After church we'd stop by Mike's for the sunday paper then down to the bakery for fresh donuts (chocalate glazed of course). Back to grandmas were she would make a big pasta lunch cause the whole family was coming over and I would eat my donut read the comics then watch sunday morning cartoons until Abbot and Costello came in WPYX ch. 11 I think it was. Then after the big paste lunch all the men would go in the living room to watch football while me my sister and my mom help Grandma in the kitchen. :o

4.If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do?
I think I would do pretty much the same thing as Diana Lyn.
First, we'd ride the Carousel of Progress.....then we'd sit in the Castle and we'd chat about what he really wanted WDW to be compared to how it is today and how he feels about Michael Eisner!

5.Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone?
I'm a pack rat. But mostly Disney stuff and I have this thing for picture frames and have pictures of family all around me. I drive my DH nuts.
And I do have lots of scrapbooking supplies!!

6.What's your favorite food? Steak nicely rare please!!! and shell fish!

7. If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town? The museum, Walk around Albany (the capital of NY not NYC as some people think) and Saratoga, The August place to be, and a quick jaunt to some lakes in the Adirondacks.
You can't beat it. All this within an hours drive from home!

8. What is your birth order? I am the oldest of 2 girls.

In regards to traveling/vacationing with family. We go on vacation all the time with my parents (Grumpy 1).
I did one vacation last August with my husbands family. We took them to Disney. NEVER EVER AGAIN!! I would only travel again with his brother but not the others. pirate:

I think I got it all!

I like that idea. We have the turkeys, everyone else just bring a dish to share. I should probably ask mom & dad if that would be ok!
