Sept. 28th, 2008 - Oct. 2nd, 2008 * Wonder 4 Night *

I've noticed that many of the DIS groups that meet up on board have given themselves names (Konched Kruisers for example). Anyone have any interest in naming our group, or have any ideas for names? :confused3

Might be fun to add a name to a door magnet or some of the FE exchange goodies. :goodvibes

Someone used the term "Wonder"ful Cruise in a recent post on this thread - I thought that was clever! Maybe "Wonder"ful DisCruise? Mmmm right I'm out of ideas!

This will be our first Disney cruise. I think my brother already mentioned that we also have a CAT 12 room so we do not have a room assignment yet. We would like to participate in the FE program. My brother got us the actual FE to hang and now all I have to do is figure out what to get to put in it. I read that we will be put into a group and that is the night we deliver our gifts. I am obviously new to all of this so please bear with me. Does that mean that we will recieve a gift every night or just one night that we are on the ship??? I already started buying little Disney themed gifts and didn't realize it was this organized. By the way, thanks to those who have organized all of this. I know that my kids will be looking in that FE every time we come back to the room so I was just wondering how often things would be put in??
Our family is ME, DH, DS(5) and DS(3). I will update with our room number when we get it.

I went back over and read the thread and see that we are doing on gift per family for the entire cruise. That sounds great and will be less to buy and less to bring home! I just know that my kids will be looking in the FE each day to see if something is in there so does anyone have advice about this? Has anyone put gifts in their own FE for their kids? I will be traveling with my brother and his family so I guess the cousins could exchange gifts. I don't need gifts each day(though if I am being honest I love getting surprises too:)), but I know my kids will love "checking their mailboxes"! TIA for the responses.

I think that there is enough of us that the likelihood of the kids finding something in their FE each day of the cruise is pretty good! We probably all won't be terribly organised departure day and Pirate Night will be popular so I suspect it will be quite spread out! Just let them know that there will be no gifts on the last morning as our FEs will have been packed in our bags the night before!

I ordered my FE goodies today :) I'm going with a tropical fish theme, since I figured other folks would have the pirates covered.

I also need a final count soon, just so I can make sure I have everything covered and time to make the one thing I'm 'hand making' before the plane leaves.

Has there been a MnG planned yet?

As of this morning, the count is One Month, One Week, and FIVE days until we take off for Orlando!

not that I'm excited or anything!

I am happy to do a final count in early September - we are travelling before the cruise so I need to finalise numbers as well. We need to know each family and room number.

Are we happy to meet at 3pm on departure day in a lounge area? I will need to defer to a previous cruiser to identify an appropriate location.

I believe I originally posted we may miss the DIS meet, but we may actually make it now (yay!). We canceled our flight and will be driving down. We have family in Panama City, so that will be our stop over the day before and then finish up Sunday, probably get there around noon or so.

The last of our FE gifts should be arriving in the mail next week (yippee). Then we just need to group them together, but that can wait until we get the list together. Thank you Churros for taking on that task.

Not sure about a title for our group/cruise...we could always be the Rum Runners or the Bahahamian Cruisers (though this is a bit difficult to say).

Hope to get to know you all a bit more as we get closer to our "wonder"ful day.

Tim (and Ashley)

When we make the final list can we list the kids ages. I would feel bad leaving a little kid gift for a teenager! Thanks!

Hi, I just found this site. We are going on our first Disney Cruise. My Dh DD 5 in Kindergarten, DS 7 in 2nd grade and DS 9 in fourth grade. We live in California. Does anyone have an opinion on whether I should change our dinner seating from late to early. With the time change I think we might be okay, but we are spending 8 days at WDW first, will this be a factor. I would love to join in on the FE. Is it too late?? What kinds of things are exchanged???

Hi My DD is five and would love to meet someone from Australia as would my DS 7 and DS 9. They all love animals (especially dinosaurs, hence the screen name). My DS 9 dreams of visiting Australia and Africa one day. Maybe we can intro our girls???

Welcome aboard! I've heard many different suggestions. Some say that if you do early seating then the kids may be too tired to enjoy the shows. With the deck 9 choices for food (anytime), you could always grab a snack there if they were getting a bit hungry before dinner. My wife and I are early eaters, so we did make the call to DCL to have us moved from late to early, but is all a matter of preference.

As far as FE gifts, Oreintal Trading Company usually has some great knick knacks. From reading through some of the FE threads, some on other cruises have also ordered pens, buttons, or business card sized magnets with the cruise date and ship name. Doesn't have to be fancy just something you think others would enjoy. I believe Churros (thanks again) was going to get this list together early September for a true count, so you are definitely not too late.

And to all, today...one is a great number: 1 month, 1 week and 1 day! :cool1:

On our last cruise our kids were young and even though we had first seating we didn't see a single show. I mean after a whole day of activities, they were TIRED! By the time we got out of dinner the kids were shot. So you might be better off getting to the shows as early as possible with young kids. My advice, take the late seating and early show time, eat at one of the buffets before the show, then after the show, either put the kids to bed, or drop them off in the kids camp and go have a nice dinner by yourself.

Anyone have a girl in the 7, 8 or 9 range? My daughter is 8 and with a brother 4 and a sister 3 so she is often the odd one out. Would love to get some chat going with a cruise friend.

Anyone get their cabin assignments yet?

I have a DD11 and a DD7! Would love to get together with you, so our 7 and 8 yr old can meet!

That sounds good. I don't know if there is a way to send private messages through these forums. Do your daughter by any chance have Webkins or use this "penguins" site (can't remember the real name). Maybe we can set them up to chat?

I looked at the meet site for the 4-day cruise before us....they have like 200 PAGES of posts. C'mon guys, let's get EXCITED! :yay:

You can PM on the DIS; however, I don't know if there is a minimum number of posts you have to have first. I'll try to PM you, though, to figure out how to connect our girls. We do have Webkinz.

You have to have at least 10 posts before you can PM. I just to tried to Pm to Aussie girl to set up a meet for our 5 year old girls.

I guess you better all start posting then:thumbsup2

I've been checking daily for cabin assignments but so far nothing.

Hopefully we will all know our CAT12 outcome real soon.:woohoo:
