Sept. 28th, 2008 - Oct. 2nd, 2008 * Wonder 4 Night *

WVdislover,
Sounds great! My daughters name is Katie. I can't remember what her wabkinz name is so I'll have to get back to you, but it seems to me that there is some way to chat through the webkinz site. I will send you our e-mail. Anyway, look for some communication sometime over the weekend.

PS Are you Cat12 GTY? I am surprised that they havn't assigned cabins yet?

tom

Yes, we are a CAT 12.

They should be assigning the cabins in the next few days for CAT12 GTY's.

I'm sure many of you saw the thread about the DISmeet and where past cruisers have met. It looks like the Promenade Lounge is quite popular. It is on deck three in between Triton's and Parrot Cay and right around the corner from the Aft Elevators. Most also say that 3:00 seems to be a great time to meet. What does everyone think?

That sounds good. I don't know if there is a way to send private messages through these forums. Do your daughter by any chance have Webkins or use this "penguins" site (can't remember the real name). Maybe we can set them up to chat?

I looked at the meet site for the 4-day cruise before us....they have like 200 PAGES of posts. C'mon guys, let's get EXCITED! :yay:

We are looking foreward to meeting all of you Janet ifky12

Hey Tom, Allison is so excited about getting to meet Katie! We're actually in Cat 6. We found out many years ago that once you have a verandah, you can never go back ;) We're in cabin #6054. BTW, where in Penn are you guys located? We come up to Pittsburgh sometimes.

Hey vvdislover,
Katie was very happy that I had made some contact with someone else her age. She IMMEDIATLY went on Webkinz and put in Allisons user name. My understanding is that Allison must "accept" Katie as a "friend", and then they can send messages through webkinz. Cool!

The promenade sounds like a good place to meet. By 3:00 all of the traffic to Parrot Cay for lunch should be gone.

PS. They try to direct you to Parrot Cay for lunch, but Topsiders is better for the view, so I would recommend taking the elevator up.

Hi My DD is five and would love to meet someone from Australia as would my DS 7 and DS 9. They all love animals (especially dinosaurs, hence the screen name). My DS 9 dreams of visiting Australia and Africa one day. Maybe we can intro our girls???

Hi dino mom
Sorry haven't been around the boards lately. We'd love to answer all your kids questions about Australia. If they are animal lovers then I'm sure they will enjoy our gifts - although I won't be bringing Australian dinosaurs!:rotfl:

That's interesting because other reviews I've read say to go to Parrot Cay - is that because it will be less crowded?

On our first cruise the weather was great and we ate outside at Topsiders. I just felt like we were on a cruise ship. I can't comment on Parrot Cay because we skipped it. Most reviews say that if you are going to skip one for palos that is the one.

When we boarded the ship, everyone was being directed to parrot cay....had read a review that said go to topsiders so never saw weather it was crowded or not.

We are still waiting for our cat12 assignment, anyone have theirs??

No cabin assignment for us yet.

9 Disney cruises and we always eat our first meal upstairs in Beach Blanket Buffet.

Just feels right to us:thumbsup2

The food is the same in either place and if you board early Beach Blanket Buffet is not usually very busy yet at all because they are directing everyone to Parrot Cay.

An individual sailing on the 21st mentioned they got their room assignment today, so within the next week those with GTY staterooms for our cruise should be getting their room numbers.

This is our first cruise so I am wondering how you find out what room you will be in. We are CAT 12. Do you get it in the mail, email or do you have to log onto the website???

I just went on the disney cruise website to pull up my reservation and although I had never checked my reservation online before today we did have a stateroom listed. We are a family of 4 so I thought we would automatically get upgraded to a CAT 11 because of capacity. However, it has us listed in a Cat 12, stateroom #2018. Did anyone else get their stateroom #??? Like I mentioned above this is our first cruise so I'm not really sure if that was just a temporary room # or whether it is our actual room?

Just me again. I went on the disney site and I don't even see a stateroom with the number 2018? Also, I went to the ratings of staterooms on this website and there was no rating for that # room. I am so confused!

2018 is on deck 2. It looks like it is a connecting cabin. I don't know if they are planning on assigning you both rooms at no additional charge or moving you up later. I've heard the same as you: Category 12 rooms only hold 3 people.

I checked my reservation earlier this morning and found that we had been assigned a cabin number also.

It will still say that you are in a CAT 12 even if it is not.

We were given Cabin 1068.

That is a CAT 9 on deck one. I think that we have one of the cabins with two round portholes instead of one big window.

So an upgrade for us this time too:thumbsup2

lisagirl your cabin is right across from the CAT 12's.

It is also a CAT9, so an outside cabin.
