Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

:rotfl2:
Seems like many of you will be coming to WDW a week early. We are coming too, landing Monday, Sept 21st. We opted to stay off site to have more space, fully equiped kitchen and a pool. We won't be dinning on-site.

Good way to start the cruise! :)

Jaqueline, you might be faster then us with that power chair, LOL.

Hmm, it's faster than most folks can walk. Which works for me a lot on those non crowded no kids in sight places. ;)

I am on-call tonight, so no adult beverages for me.
Fingers crossed for a non turbulent night.

LOL - I'm still on the fence about adult beverages tonight... We are having our friends over for a cookout (which we do almost every weekend) and we usually end up playing Rockband...or, better yet, DRUNK Rockband. However, I still have to get through another 4 hours of work before I can even think about the weekend...what a slllooowwww day!

OK, I'm starting to wonder if this board is the learningboard instead of the DIS. :rotfl: Wat is playing Rockband? Sounds like a game for the PSP or WII or something. :rotfl2:

4 More hours you said? Yeah about that region, before I'm off to bed. Slow day? You want us to deliver you a workload? We can arrange that. :rolleyes1

All pre-cruise WDW visitors, do you guys plan going to Wishes fireworks on Thursday night? Maybe we can all meet then. I will have a car.. Otherwise, we will be in parks every day, maybe have a day off in bw or Friday so we can pack/do laundry if needed.

Wishes is at the MK. We're planning on doing it on Monday, and if they prolong something (which I'm sure they will), we must do it on Monday. Sorry, have to be a bit cryptic, but I know Lieske reads here some times and I don't want to spill the beans to her about that-which-must-not-be-mentioned.

No, I was thinking of more or less being part of your props. You know, dress me up as a mummy or monster or something??? :rotfl2:

Ah, that's smart thinking! Or maybe you could even be my very own CM. After all, I'ld need them to keep the enthousiastic guest at a distance. :snooty:

We're flying into WDW on 9/22 and staying at the Poly. I will be at the MK on Thursday and will be seeing Wishes. :cool1:

We're planning on being at Epcot on 9/22, AK on 9/23, MK on 9/24 and DHS on 9/25.

We'd love to do the Spirit of Aloha show one night, but since we are on the dining plan we can only get a cat. 2 or 3 seating, and NONE are available. Any tricks to getting tickets?

Oh, Girlfriend, ROCKBAND is the best fun. It is a video game that comes with a mike, guitar, and drum set and you get to play rock and roll songs by hitting the correct notes or singing the lyrics that flash across the screen. AND, drunk Rockband is when the person having the lowest score has to take a shot. It's fabulous. So, my day is done, and I'm getting ready to get my drink on. Have a great Friday everyone!!

1st seating dining here, and this dress for formal night;

Still have to find somebody I trust with taking it in a little, though. :rolleyes1

I have two words for you : Gor Geous !!!!

Haven't been to active the last few days as I was very ill (got to check out the local hospital) and am recovering from a severe kidney infection. I would be happy to organize the FE list by deck. Anyone else get their cabin assignment recently? I just added ivet's # today.

Very sad we did not get a Palo brunch. Husband was really looking forward to it but no luck. Hopefully there will still be some available on the ship.

Been working a bit on our FE gifts. Can't believe how close it's getting!

oh  so sorry to hear that....you poor girl! Were in same boat (:rotfl2:) no palo brunch either. Thanks for updating.

We are big Rockband folks too. It would be way cool if they had a Rockband night in Diversions.

Did you know that they are coming out with a Lego Rockband? It is supposed to be released for the holidays.

OMG...we r so getting that. I just looked it up. ADORABLE. My DD is quite the singer. Not in that she is some 3 year old prodigy. But she just loves to sing. She goes into her room and blasts her CD player singing anything and everything. She learns songs so fast. Not great when I'm listening to the radio in the car and then she starts belting out "I wanna get that boom boom, wanna get that boom boom boom." I'm such a great mom!!

My 8 year old LOVES to play the Rock Band drums. DH tries to sing, but OMG...at least the Wii seems to think he's good!

We also like to play Rock Band when we have friends over. It's always a huge hit!

Everyone is asleep in my house and I'm wide awake. If it would make sense to anyone other than my fellow DISers, my facebook status would read:

...is organizing my FE list by rooms and further more into age groups for one of my age specific gifts since I can't do anything else but think about the Magic!!

:yay:

Everyone keeps telling me that I need to get a Facebook acct. I have no idea why I haven't done it yet...guess I'm concerned that I wouldn't have time to maintain it.

All three of my sisters have one, and they stay in contact with all of MY high-school friends (whom I haven't seen since...well, high school). They're always calling me and telling me who is married to who, and who is working where, and who has how many kids, etc.

I really should get a Facebook, I guess. From what I know about it, it's pretty easy to set up. My 12 year old DS has one, which I have access to, and he loves getting on there and chatting with his friends, especially since school's out.

Man, they really communicate differently than we did when we were growing up, huh? I only dreamed about having a "car phone" someday, and my first "cell" phone was the one that you used in the car with a big cord and was stored in a bag. LOL

And, I was always on the phone when I was a pre-teen/teen, but I can't remember the last time my DS had an actual conversation on the phone. He's an excellent texter, though! :lmao:

Aristrocrats...great list!! I know I thought it back when you posted it, but now that I really need it, Love it!!

Any updates on the following room numbers? Just wondering as I'm doing a reordering of the FE list by deck to make it easier when we need to hand out the FEs. Has soneone already done this in case I'm doing it for no reason? Just making sure I didn't miss it. I did add kstategrad and Hookedoncruises my list. If anyone wants a copy, I can post it when it's done. Just wanted the TBD's to be updated if possible. Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. I just figured I'd try to help out and I'm also suffering from insomnia tonight.

I love Rock Band. I like to pretend I'm a good singer. Sometimes the Wii agrees.

Looks like we have a bunch of rock stars on the board!:hippie::rockband:
We have GH WT instead but I think they're pretty much the same. DS8 has formed a neighborhood band - The Blurry Sandwiches - and they practice the same song over and over and over and over and over...... in our basement rec room. After a while its a bit maddening :crazy2:

Our DD likes to sing too! Esp disney songs, ABBA and several songs from KidzBop. We're tryin to convince her to do karaoke but she clams up with an audience.

RB or GH in diversions would be fun! We could start a round of Crystal's "drunken rockband" game! FatCat, are you in?

we have 2nd seating - are we the only ones? We did it last time and it seemed to work out fine: didn't seem to interrupt our playtime as much, felt less crammed, could book excursions later and not worry about getting back to the boat on time. Of course DS8 fell asleep at the table one night - we have a great pic of him in pirate costume asleep in the chair in Tritons. pirate:

Another perk: don't they send CMs from the clubs to pick the kids up from 2nd dinner? I thought I heard you could sign your kids up to eat quicker and go back to the club while the grown-ups finish dinner. Only available at 2nd dinner?

Anyway, we have 5 in our party so we would be happy to join with 3 more.

Has anyone ever shipping anything to the ship before the cruise? I am trying to keep the checked bags charges to only my husband and myself. I'm on the hunt today for two carry on bags for the kids since they don't have their own. Anyway, was thinking of sending my FEs, the sand toys and float I got and maybe the pirate costumes down ahead of me so they don't take up so much space and cost me more $$$. These stupid checked bag fees have to be the most frustrating thing that's happened to flying since they got rid of food. Anyway, I tried looking up info on sending stuff to the ship, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

TIA,

I have not. But if you go to the main DCL forum there is a sticky thread that has an alphabetical listing of all info about DCL. I think she has all the instructions and stipulations re: shipping stuff to the port.

I agree w/ you about the baggage charges and stuff. Makes flying such an expense and a hassle. Baggage charges + security restrictions + delays = not good PR for a struggling industry. We don't fly much anymore. :guilty:

Ah, so I was thinking along the right path. Sounds like a game that can cause such serious laughing one has to watch out not to hurt themselves.

Thanks! I absolutely fell in love when I first came across it. Had such a hard time deciding which color to pick, but who can turn down chocolate?:idea:

I agree! Beautiful dress! :lovestruc Making me seriously lean toward using DCL as an excuse to shop for new dress! I have a red dress and "little black dress" but I would love something more 'autumn' and a bit longer for formal night. Also got to get something for the kids. Off work next week - sounds like I'll be doing some retail therapy :woohoo:

Sounds like it to me too. ;):thumbsup2 I so took the cruise for an excuse to shop for the dress.

We have late seating as well. I love the new perk with the CMs coming in to pick up kids for the club. DD2 will be sleeping most nights and we will see how DD1 does since she is usually sleeping at 8 at home! I'm sure the magic of mickey mouse ice cream will keep her on her best behavior, if not, I am planning on bringing my ipod filled with shows she loves for her to watch if she gets cranky!:happytv:

Glad I'm not the only one who does this. I know it's probably horrible, but the DS and my ipod have salvaged many a dinner night out.

I like 2nd seating dinner, but with 2 little ones, just too hard right now. DH always has last say on meals because he thinks eating at 8 PM is just way too late. I like not having to rush in from playing outside or shore excursions. But we manage I guess. I imagine our days will start earlier this cruise with the two youngsters.
