Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

I am from Bosnia, Olympic town Sarajevo. Leaving work now, will talke after 6pm.

A great city!

As I recall, Keith (Kborn) was going to keep track of folks who wanted to link ressies for dinning as we got closer. But then he decided to go to the Police Academy instead of going on our cruise.

Ah yes, we need to blame Keiths ambitions! ;)

Drag me, Drag me, are you kidding, I would have been there with bells on and not much more...:rolleyes1:scared1: But no VS, I have one word for ya'll, CHICKEN!

Ah chickening out already eventhough you are not on the cruise? Bells on?! I thought you were coming naked? :rotfl2:

Chicken? One word back; chantelle. Now who's the chicken? :upsidedow ;)

Haven't been to active the last few days as I was very ill (got to check out the local hospital) and am recovering from a severe kidney infection.

Yeiks, get well soon! Hopefully it'll al soon be a bad memory. :flower3: I know only too well what you're going through. Had the same thing happen on my last trip to WDW and basically avoided the hospital with thanks to my specialist and own stubborness.

For those with school agers: How many days of school are your kids missing? Because my son is starting kindergarten this year, I didn't give the extra days I'm leaving before the cruise a 2nd thought. Now I'm starting to panic that I'm going to get him on his teacher's bad side. Any advice? What do your kid's schools say about taking them out for vacation? Thoughts?

DD starts Kindergarden this year and we are pulling her out for 6 days. Apparently, after 5 absenses you will get a letter from the principal, and after 10 absenses for the entire year, you will be reported to DFACS. I'm going to be honest with DD's teacher and just say that we've had this cruise booked since February, 2008 (well before we knew how strict the school was as to absenses) and hope that her teacher appreciates the situation that we're in. Ideally, her teacher loves the Mouse as much as I do, but that's probably hoping too much. :lmao:

Oh, and WHOOHOO! Only 9 weeks from now, I'm somewhere above the ocean on my way for another great disney experience. :)

No need to say have a great time. I know you will. Loved your dress for formal night. Just beautiful!!

Haven't been to active the last few days as I was very ill (got to check out the local hospital) and am recovering from a severe kidney infection. I would be happy to organize the FE list by deck. Anyone else get their cabin assignment recently? I just added ivet's # today.

Very sad we did not get a Palo brunch. Husband was really looking forward to it but no luck. Hopefully there will still be some available on the ship.

Been working a bit on our FE gifts. Can't believe how close it's getting!

I'm so sorry to read you were so ill. Hopefully you'll be 100% soon. And ditto on the Palo brunch. Still checking back often. Thank goodness I'll be a Castaway Club member next time and have a better chance. This constant checking the Disney site for a slot is totally annoying.

Has anyone ever shipping anything to the ship before the cruise? I am trying to keep the checked bags charges to only my husband and myself. I'm on the hunt today for two carry on bags for the kids since they don't have their own. Anyway, was thinking of sending my FEs, the sand toys and float I got and maybe the pirate costumes down ahead of me so they don't take up so much space and cost me more $$$. These stupid checked bag fees have to be the most frustrating thing that's happened to flying since they got rid of food. Anyway, I tried looking up info on sending stuff to the ship, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

TIA,

Let's start a new topic!

Let's share, if you do not mind, what dinning seating (1st or 2nd) you have and what are you going to wear for a formal night (if attending).

I will be wearing a kick-butt white glittery, gauzy dress with a gold sash. DH will be wearing a suit, and DD will be wearing some sort of fancy dress.

About the seating arrangements, we had our dining reservations linked with the couple that was going to be traveling with us, but then they had to cancel. We have first seating, and I would totally be up for linking reservations with anyone who would have us - LOL. :flower3:

Howdy Strangers! :lmao:

Life has pulled me every which direction but here. I look occasionally, but then I am pulled away by some fire needing put out. :confused3

It's been wonderful to link faces with names on our facebook group, and see some of the pics being listed to prepare ourselves for the upcoming adventure!!!

It looks like we will be in PALO on formal night ourselves. It is the last sea day, on Thursday, right? Bummer... Much, much earlier in the thread my dh shared a story about our ds, six at the time, joining us for dinner that evening and pics of his utter amazement with seeing "the biggest shrimp he ever saw" when I was presented with my lobster tail that evening! :lmao::rotfl: I was thinking that would be fun to recreate!

We, also, have first dinner seating, but with a combined group of seven with my ds, typically they don't seat us with others. Our oldest dd will be required to eat with us some of the nights, but the other three kids typically choose to stay in the clubs, so we'll be most likely filling half of an eight top, if we're lucky. :confused3 If we could be in with some of you on a mammoth table, we'd be up for that!!:thumbsup2

Our FE gifts needing made are still active in my imagination -- I really need to think about starting them, as I think I was a bit ambitious in my choice. OH well, hoping they'll turn out and you will enjoy the surprise!

Is anyone interested in doing a DIS meet at WDW before the cruise???? It appears that a few of us are going, crystal, goofiesis, us... We are not doing MNSSHP this year as we did it two years ago on Halloween. But we will be checking in on Monday, Sept 21, and enjoying the week there. (We'll worry about the kids getting kicked out of school when we return! :lmao:) If you are interested in meeting up we can chat about it and figure out a good time/place to do so!!! I think that would be a blast!!!

Enjoy your weekend! I can't believe it's here already!:cool1:

Kick butt? GOOD! Have it kick my butt, I can stand to loose about half of it. :lmao:

Anyone should be lucky to have you guys. At least they know what to expect ;)

Karen; a meet at WDW sounds good to me. We'll be there from the night of the 18th.

We actually purchased our FE materials (both for the FE itself and the gifts) on Wednesday, so now DH and I just need to get to it!!

As to a meet, I don't know what everyone has planned for the morning of the cruise, but I made reservations at Kona at 9:30 a.m. for breakfast (DH loves him some Tonga Toast). Soooooo, if anyone else wants to join us, I'm sure we could very easily make that happen - - Kona is fairly easy to get into.

We're scheduled for a breakfast at Boma at 8.15 am. For the rest; no clue yet for that day except catching the DCL bus!

LOL - you are so silly. And, for the record, I didn't say that I look good in it, just that it looks good in general. :rotfl:

Crystal baby, you are busy today! Is that workload starting to get to you? ;)

YES, I'm refusing to do any work...at least until my guys get to the office. I've been neglecting my DIS duties for a week now, and I refuse to neglect any more.

Oooooooo, Boma will be awesome eats for you guys! I unfortunately don't even like Tonga Toast...but DH loooooveeeesss it, so, of course, I do what I can do to make sure he gets his fix.

I'm thinking a pre-Disney Cruise party with music, frozen drinks, and FE gifts to be made??? :lmao: Wonder who I could sucker into that -- especially my friends who went on the last cruise with me but are NOT going on this cruise? I think not:rotfl:

We booked Chef Mickey's for Saturday morning. DH isn't thrilled about it, because, although it is good, it isn't fantastic food, in our humble opinion. But we have always done a character breakfast on the last day of WDW visits. We will be seeing characters for the next week, however, and I'm sure I can easily sway him. The Poly is our resort of choice, and Tonga toast, I agree, mmm mmm good! ;) Let me talk to DH and see what he thinks about it!

I am thrilled not to have to be in a hurry to get to the port as our ressies are secured. We really lucked out there!!!:goodvibes

Me, silly? Tsk, I'm not. I'm serious. :snooty: I'm sure you'll look gorgous in it.

Smart girl! You know where priorities belong. For how many hours to come do we have to entertain you? ;):rotfl2:

I've never tasted Tonga Toast, but from what I've read about it being? I think I'm in your corner on this one.

Tonga Toast and Dole Whips are two things on my WDW list that I have not gotten to.

I am going to have to work on that. Now that I think about it, I don't have plane tickets booked yet. Maybe we will have to stay an extra night, you know for Tonga Toast. And then if we are already there, what's a hop, skip and jump over to a park for a Dole Whip!!

YUM! We're doing BOMA earlier in the week for dinner! My son LOVE animals so that will be a treat for him. He'd prefer to spend the week at AK, but, alas, there are other parks to attend as well! Parks where one of us will have to sit out with him because he won't ride the rides. :confused3

They should love it, at least you let them share in the magic somewhat. :rotfl:

I agree,it isn't fantastic. It's fun, but fantastic is something different.

Oh man, I so second this!

OK, we're killing the server, server went out. We must shut up a bit more. :lmao::laughing:

Which night are you going to be there? If I'm not in a park or anything, I could make a quick pop down and/or have you make a trip up. Sounds like son would love a taste of a savannah view from a balcony.
