Okay. It happened. We are taking my ds11 to Urgent Care in a little while for an xray. He and ds13 were jumping on the trampoline and ds13 landed on ds11's finger. He can't move it without extreme pain. And, it's been an hour and he's had time for the Advil to take effect. I would wait a little bit, but we leave MONDAY!!!!!

Noooooooooo! I'm sure it will be all right. Worst case...a finger cast, and sympathy from the DCL crew (work it!)

Awesome...I just showed Rebekah Madeleine's picture, and she says she's excited to meet her! (I think we have a family picture earlier in the thread).

:lmao: about working the crew. LOVE it!!!! We called our doc yesterday and he said it could wait until today. He thought it would be easier to read an xray today instead of yesterday because some of the swelling would come down. So, we're in a holding pattern now. He still didn't move it much last night. He's still asleep this morning.

When our older son had a broken arm on our cruise, our waiter cut his food up for him!!! Ds said he felt so taken care of!!!!

Are we the first to leave????? We are packed and ready to go. We leave tomorrow at 4:30 am. Ack.

The good news: We got everything into 6 carryons and 2 checked bags. The 2 checked bags are ALL cruise things. We'll also have a stroller and a car seat.

the bad news: We may need to go in for an xray. Our doc thought it could wait until we got to AZ. Ds is still swollen, but able to move it a bit. So, we'll wait.

So, I HATE flying. If you could think of us/pray for us between 6:30 - 12:30 tomorrow AM eastern time, that'd be great!!!!!

Be safe. If you need anything text me and I'll have it ready for you. Wow all in 6 carry ons and 2 checked bags with 3 weeks of vacation for 6 of you. I am so impressed. Can't wait to meet you next saturday. Good luck with the xray.

Jennifer-I am in awe of your packing skills. Last year on the WBTA we had 3 large checked bags, each slightly under 50 lbs and 2 carry on for the 2 of us for 4 weeks. Maybe on a sea day, you can conduct a seminar on how not to overpack.:rotfl2:

We'll see you at the DIS meet!

Thanks Sigrid!!! I've definitely got your number in my phone. I can't wait to see you!

Thanks!!! I posted somewhere else about it and was told it was too much!! I can't imagine having less. Really. I'm going to be SOOOO sick of the clothes we have by the end. But, it's so easy to travel with so little!!!

And, if you buy me a drink of the day, I'd be happy to do just about anything!! Including speaking in public (my LEAST fav thing to do!!! LOL). The laundromat is my best friend!!!

Hello everyone!!
So we finally had the wedding :bride: of our dreams! It was better than I could ever imagine! Now its get ready for cruise time!! We got our gift card loaded enough to cover all of the exursions we had planned, but not much left over, so I decided to cancel and just keep salsa & salsa because of the great reviews. If money permits we will add more on board. I am very excited to meet all of you at 3:05! Where is the spa raff? I would LOVE to win something! :thumbsup2

I cannot wait to be on board, with a drink in my hand, my sunglasses on and the smell of the ocean breeze!

I think I am going to make a pretty simple FE...maybe just use a canvas bag from michaels or something and decorate it, since it is just DH & I...then on the next cruise spend the $$ on a really nice one for the family.

I'll be able to log on more now that the wedding is done :)

Thanks Super*Mum! It's just my best friend Carolyn & I traveling, no kids to speak of. I took the CA Bar exam in July so this will be my post-bar vacation. :yay: I will probably be spending a good amount of time at the Cove pool, laying out & reading trashy books. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Congrats on such a big accomplishment!! What type of law are you hoping to practice? You will probably see a lot of us, as we are not traveling with children either...you bring the trashy books & I will bring the trashy magazines!! :lmao:

**GREAT PICS...my brother (just got married last month) & they had the same photographer as you (the ones w/ Tammy & the lips) What a small world!

WOW! such a small world!! She is such an awesome photographer, we have 3 shots up already from our wedding. I LOOOVE them! What is your brothers name? She is always posting the pictures from the weddings and I love to look at them!

I see a lot of cocktails in my future too, haha. Hopefully I'll be able to control myself so that my onboard bill at the end of the week isn't astronomical! We don't have any excursions planned, so we should be able to keep it reasonable. I'm perfectly fine with just walking around and exploring a little bit. Is everyone else doing excursions?

I purposely cancelled a couple of excursions to leave cocktail money! LOL :rotfl2:

We just have palo, salsa & salsa, exotic rasul....we may add another on board.

We are on the repo and on this one as well. I'm not sure if I will get a chance to post here, but I will try.

At one point there was talk of adding the virtual portholes to the Wonder, but the powers that be (you know, those guys) were wondering if they could get it done in two weeks. It's a little different retrofitting something as opposed to doing when it is being built.

Again, I will try to post from on board (or Victoria) so stay tuned.

Totally wanna stalk you, but do enjoy your vacay!! This almost makes me want to DOWNGRADE! Screw my real porthole! I want a virtual one!! :thumbsup2 Is that actually possible? I am such a kid at heart and would love it LOL..maybe they would give us credit?...that would be sweeeet!

Saying a little prayer for you! I hope the xray turns out that it isn't too bad & have a safe trip and have fun!! See you on board!!

Hi Jennifer
I was reading through all the posts and noticed you are a HS'er also. We look fwd to meeting you all. My dd will be 9 on the cruise.

Hi Debra, we are homeschoolers too! Cruise is in two weeks and it is very hard to get the kids to want to do math...

If the Disney Wonder were at capacity of 2400 guests and 64 of those are participating in the FE what percentage of the guests is that?

Of the 64 people participating in the FE break down the age groups into percentages and draw in the form of a pie chart.

Will those 2 questions be any good to get them working?

Sigrid

I've heard this is worth it! My formal stuff will have been in our suitcases for two weeks by the time we get on the ship. You bet it'll all need a good pressing!!! Did you just ask your stateroom hostess to take it out for you?

Jennifer, sorry it has taken me so long to answer. I flooded my laundry room and have had to add contractors and insurance to a life full of homeschooling, vacation planning, out-of-town visitors, doctors appointments and kids. Alas, I am behind on the Disboards!

Yes, we just gave it to our stateroom hostess the night before. We found our clothes back in the closet when we came to get dressed for formal night.

You probably won't get to see this message before you fly out in the morning. We'll be praying for you. Flying is no fun! (DH had to fly to NYC this morning--9/11.)

If you need anything when you get to SoCal, let me know. I'll send my contact info in a PM.

I am exactly the SAME WAY. I was just thinking that I hope that no one gets sick before the trip!

FINALLY, here is a pic of my family!

Beautiful family! Your girls are just darling. Are they so excited to be going on the cruise?

Nice try!!! Not even "if you have to do 30 math problems a day and there are 14 days till your cruise..." I may have to resort to bribery

Ack! Hopefully this turned out ok. From what I understand (no personal experience with this but from other families we know) doctors now wait a few days to cast or splint anything because once the swelling goes down it is always too loose. Glad your local doctor is doing something before you take off though. It always feels better when you are doing things like this at home.

I am with you on the flying bit. Worst flight ever was in Spain and Iberia's business class had these televisions that rose out of the armrests and were tuned to a camera on top of the plane so everyone could watch the plane take off. I wanted to run out. I don't need to see that. Not interesting.. just ridiculously scary. I will be thinking about you all when I wake up! Everything will be fine... you got the worst of your bad travel experiences out of the way (your poor child's finger) it is all smooth sailing from here!

Hello everyone!!
So we finally had the wedding :bride: of our dreams! It was better than I could ever imagine!

Congratulations on your wedding! You will have to post pictures at some point. Were your kids involved in the wedding (ring bearers or ???)? This is going to be a great honeymoon. No cooking, no cleaning, no having to drive around lost trying to make it somewhere in time. I love cruising!

I'll hang out with you, Super*Mum

ADD ME to that bunch! :cool1:

I'll bring extra rum!

OMG :scared1: I can only imagine how scared you were! I have a friend that has to take meds to go on a flight because of her fears.

Thank you so much!! Yes we did involve the children, my oldest was the ring bearer and then we said vows to the children and presented them with bracelets.

and since YOU ASKED....;) I apologize if anyone thinks Im a picture flooder LOL
