Something that made me smile today.... remembering that we are one of the first cruises after the dry dock. :goodvibes

Glad to know they are getting it all fresh and shiny for our first DCL cruise (yes... it was clearly just for me).

I didn't know this. How cool is that?! :thumbsup2

Hmm that itinerary sure changes things up for me! The snorkeling cruise we were planning on doing in Cabo leaves at 11AM, so that's not gonna be able to happen. Bummer! :sad2:

yukongirl: I didn't realize you were just on this cruise in March. AWESOME!! Question for you (or anyone who might know) ... I really want early seating and we were told it was full so we are "on the waiting list" now, but assigned late seating. I can't remember what the procedure is for trying to change that. Do you have any experience with that?

We rebooked this cruise in March and ended up with late dining, so I asked to be on the waiting list also. When I checked my reservation this morning, I saw that it had changed from late to early dining. Maybe you could send them an email and inquire about your dining?

Oh how lucky!! I am SO praying we get ours changed.

Who would I email at DCL? I just clicked around the reservations area and I didn't see any contact info. I just sent a quick note to our TA asking if she has any suggestions for getting us moved to early seating, but I'd probably have better luck contacting them directly.

If you used a TA, DCL will probably only speak to your TA about this as the TA now "owns" the reservation.

Yes, if you used a TA then only your TA has the ability to make changes. I always book my own travel, because apparently I have control issues :rolleyes1

Yay I'm so happy to report, I just got an email from my TA (Tracey at Dreams Unlimited .... she rocks!!) and she worked her magic and got us main seating!! :cool1:

Ok can someone please speed up time now?? I swear my little countdown clock isn't moving!!

While we prefer early seating, the cruise in March was kind of last minute, so we were assigned late seating. We went to Rocking D Bar when we boarded, and asked to be moved to the early seating. The first three days, the restaurant manger and said that nothing was avaible. On the fourth day, he called again and said something had opened up. By that time, we really had gotten to know our tablemates and wanted to stay with them.

The March cruise was really busy, lots of famities and kids because of spring break. This cruise may not be as crowded though....

Janice

We had wanted the first sitting as our daughter is only 4 but we also have second sitting. I'm interested to see how everything works.

Having read the last couple of feeds I logged onto our reservation (yup I have control issues as well as obsessive issues) and I've just managed to change to main seating too. Thanks for keeping me informed. I've tried changing before without any luck so this is now one less job to deal with.

Did you request to be on the waiting list for the early seating? It never hurts....

Janice

I imagine that plenty of main seating options will open up in the next couple of days now that DCL is offering Kids Sail free on MR cruises from 10/30-12/18. I am sure quite a few families will be "jumping ship" to save money a month later. Since I am just a party of two it won't save me anything... plus, I am hoping to catch that summer beach weather!

Keep watching for main dining to open up!

I was thinking that today, too! I wonder if our ship is going to be empty now!

I was going to do that but went into my reservation yesterday afternoon after reading some of the posts and managed to change us to the main seating without any difficulties. That shows how many have dropped out. I have tried this numerous times before with no success.

...and we'll be bringing her to LA for this cruise right out of dry dock!

We will be doing the same thing. We find that 7-days is too short to cruise after our first cruise was the 2008 Westbound Panama Canal. We did it again this year and stayed on the for the Cruise to Nowhere, but that was too much. Besides, I was sick for both of them and spent most of my time in the cabin.

This is a make-up cruise for me and, more importantly, the wife. We also will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary on semi-formal night, so that will be nice. Trying to get Palo for that night.

Cabin and FE Roster

Please let me know if I have left anyone off the list or if your information is not correct. Let me know your name and cabin numbers when you get them and also if you will be doing a FE.

Thanks!!!

Ohhh! Add me, add me!!!! We just switched cruise dates today from October 9 to this one. I know it's only two weeks earlier, but I am all that much more excited because it seems soo much closer all ready.

We are: me(Denise), DH (Mike), DS 14 (Mark) and DS 11 (Drew). We participated in the FE on our last cruise and can't wait to participate again!

I wondered this same thing. We may have the entire ship to ourselves!!!

There's just the two of also, and my kid is too old for KSF.....

I hope this cruise works out better for you, what a great way to celebrate an anniversary!

We did the WBTA last year-it was fabulous, especially all those sea days. The dates didn't work for us this year, but 12 days on the Wonder is a good alternative.

This is silly but I have to share with yall cuz I know you are the only ones who might understand my excitement!

DH and I have been trying to figure out how we're going to tell our DD about the cruise as one of her birthday presents on her birthday in a couple weeks (She still doesn't know). I was trying to think of some little cruise-themed trinket I could wrap in a box... maybe stick a note in with it that explains the surprise.

So Friday night we went to the Disney Outlet store we have here in town. I LOVE going there because it gets me in the Disney mood! They get all of the cast-offs from Disneyland/WDW and sell them for 50% off or more. Usually it's their old t-shirts... Hannah Montana and stuff that's not really popular any more... but every once in a while you can find a gem. I thought maybe they'd have a Disney Cruise themed t-shirt or something I could wrap.

Well, we found these great Pirate-themed Mickey ears!! (Don't you love the hoop earring? lol)

MicEars.jpg

So we bought three of them (one for each of us) and we're going to wrap those with a note that we'll be wearing these on PIRATE'S NIGHT on the ship in September! I can't wait to have her unwrap them! She's going to totally freak out. :yay:

She knows we usually try and plan some sort of vacation for September, and the last 2 Septembers we went to WDW to take advantage of their Free Dining deal... so the other day she said "are we going to go to Disney World again this year??" I said "Hmm I don't know... we've done it twice in a row now. Maybe we should try something new." She thought for a while and said "Wouldn't it be so cool to go on a Disney CRUISE??!!! They showed it on Disney Channel and it looks AWESOME!!!" She went on and on about how fun it would be. It was so hard to not say anything! I know she's going to be so excited. I can't wait!!

Thanks for listening to me ramble!
