Sept 25, 2011 Wonder - Mexican Riviera

Not to poo-poo on the cruise docs, as they are exciting, but excitement was all I got from them. There is no new info in there (that you can't get on the DCL website) and the luggage tags you can get when you check in at the port (but it is more convenient to get them before).

Just opened yesterday's mail and found our cruise documents. Gets me excited to have all the info in one place. As a newbie when do we find out our dining rotations?

I signed up for my dining seating time when I booked the cruise. I believe it is also listed on my reservation confirmation.

Ok.Please note that the break down of ages is something I have done to make it easier to see what ages of children there are and does not reflect the gifts that the others may or may not be providing.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if it mattered for gifts or not. How do most do the FE gifts? One per cabin/family? One per kid and then per adult? My goal is to get all of my gifts by the weekend after Labor Day.:wizard:

This is purely down to your choice and we have not set any rules for this.

Nope the rotation ie which restaurant which night?

From another newbie, so I only know from my research, you find out when you check in at port and it is written (in initials I believe) on your KTTW card (Key to the World). I think, again from memory of what I read, it goes PATPAT or PcApT (something to that effect). We need an experienced cruiser on this one... I totally shouldn't respond to something I really am unsure about :rotfl2:

Is anyone else celebrating a birthday/anniversary etc whilst on the cruise. Have I put the wrong details next to anyone. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can correct these mistakes.

Also we are currently looking at holding a "meet" on departure date at 3.05pm (so that those of you wishing to attend the draw at the Spa can do so) on the Promenade Deck. Exact details to be given in the next week so that those of you leaving sooner will have all the information.

Apologies if I've got anything wrong.

Got ours this weekend too. Yay!
Even though there's nothing earth-shattering in them, it's still fun to have something in hand that says this is real!! And coming SOON!!

Yes, digging back in my memory (it's been lots of years since my last Disney Cruise), you'll find out your dining rotation when you get your KTTW card.

Where's everyone planning on having lunch the first day? I have read several threads debating whether it's better to do the buffet or Parrot Cay. I'm pretty sure what we're gonna do, but I really don't care too much either way and was wondering if any of you felt passionately one way or the other...

i also read if u have kids, ur first pri should be running over the kids klub to reg them. so thats where i'll be, and checking out the nursery (we got the baby signed up just so we can have a dinner or 2 in peace. sigh.)

whos doing what excursions? we're just gonna wing it..

I have already registered my DD for the kids club online as for excursions we are doing the City Tour and coastal highlights. Just trying to work out how much money to have changed.

Thank you so much swx72 for putting the FE list together. I've only got a few more things to get and then I'm done.
We leave for LA on 17 September. I can't wait:cool1:

You are more than welcome. I still have a ways to go although finished making some bits today. In case I forget to say safe travels. I know you have quite a trip ahead of you.

I would like to add a FE rule:

If you upgrade your cabin at port (I know... I know.. you are all thinking that is going to be me because of my room switching "problem" but I promise we are staying as is!!! :lmao:) you are responsible for letting everyone know by slipping a piece of paper under the door of the other cabins or clipping a note to everyone's fish within the first couple days. It would be easy to make your FE deliveries while you do this since you are heading to everyone's cabin anyway.

I want to make sure everyone gets their FE gifts (and I don't want to shlep my leftover gifts home if I can't find you!)

Hey everyone, I want to get in this loop of all the people I might be seeing in a few weeks! This is our first Disney Cruise (mine & the kids 1st cruise ever.) Its myself, DH, DD (4.5) & DS(1) along w/ my Mom & her husband...I'm looking forward to lots of fun...any tips suggestions or anything please throw them at me, I'm just starting to browse the site...

Is there any MUST that I need to do...now or should prepare for? I see there is a fishline...going to look for more details on that...is it to late to join if I'm inteted? Is there a quick overview that I can read...I would be interested for my DD.

Super*Mum I will definitely include that rule. Thank you for pointing it out.

Hey luvbnmom unfortunately the Fish Extender list was closed to new participants on Saturday unless everyone be convinced to let someone else in, but this is due to the fact that we needed to make sure that those heading out up to 2 weeks prior to the cruise still had 2 weeks to pull together their gifts. However, we are also planning a meet up on board at 3.05 on the Promenade Deck on the first day so that everyone can put faces to names. Details will be confirmed in the next 10 days.

I definitely suggest going through this whole thread, and especially through the main forum over the next few days. There's so much to learn from everyone!

We have booked the Las Caletas tour through DCL for the PV day (I'm pretty sure there are a few others in this thread that are doing that too). In Cabo we have booked a sail boat that will take us snorkeling on our long day, and on our short day we're planning on just winging it -- probably taking a water taxi to Medano beach and doing some shopping in the marketplace right at the pier.
