Sept 25, 2011 Wonder - Mexican Riviera

Hey luvbnmom unfortunately the Fish Extender list was closed to new participants on Saturday unless everyone be convinced to let someone else in, but this is due to the fact that we needed to make sure that those heading out up to 2 weeks prior to the cruise still had 2 weeks to pull together their gifts. However, we are also planning a meet up on board at 3.05 on the Promenade Deck on the first day so that everyone can put faces to names. Details will be confirmed in the next 10 days.

Sigrid

Sounds good..thanks!

I'm from Elk Grove! :grouphug: Small World! We fly on the morning of the cruise into LAX. Where about in Sacramento are you?

We are in NATOMAS! :) My DH is from EG! I'm curious if there is anymore of us!

We'll be leaving Saturday morning to LA & spending the night in San Pedro.

Hey everyone, I want to get in this loop of all the people I might be seeing in a few weeks! This is our first Disney Cruise (mine & the kids 1st cruise ever.) Its myself, DH, DD (4.5) & DS(1) along w/ my Mom & her husband...I'm looking forward to lots of fun...any tips suggestions or anything please throw them at me, I'm just starting to browse the site...

Is there any MUST that I need to do...now or should prepare for? I see there is a fishline...going to look for more details on that...is it to late to join if I'm inteted? Is there a quick overview that I can read...I would be interested for my DD.

Here is the question to everyone. Luvbnmom is interested in joining the FE but I told her that the list is closed, but it would be up to all of you, especially those of you heading out in a matter of a few weeks whether or not you are willing to let this last person join. Please let me have your thoughts back as quickly as possible.

I believe as long as they are not in your carry on. I am packing a pair so that I can use them, should we need to.

Correct me if I'm wrong but we can't preregister the kids club? Because if so I couldn't find it on the DCL site, I only did pre-registration for our son @ the nursery.

The kids don't need to be booked in like those in the nursery. I believe wrist bands etc can be done once I drop her off the first time, but we don't need to book blocks of time like the nursery it is literally turn up, drop off. This is the way I have understood things.

Just seen on a blog that Disney Cruise Line is changing it's alcohol policy as of September 19 and wanted to share with you.

Seen that also BUT sounds like it changed back to the old one today (calling tomorrow to confirm) other family in our group...called a few days ago & still sounds like old polciy...which I'm happy about :cool1:

u can register kids on DCL. u dont need to sign them up if they are 3+, like u do for nursery.

Thanks so much for letting me know on that one. The alcohol I'm not so bothered about as I don't drink anyway so we were only looking at a small amount for my husband, but it's always good to be on top of policy changes.

As you know I am pulling together feedback to see how people feel about you joining in the FE. So far it is looking positive, but you would definitely be the last. I will be able to confirm to you, hopefully, within the next 24 hours. Please confirm that you definitely want to join and numbers (ie is your Mom and husband also going to join or just you and your family) as this may help people with decision making.

Thanks so much

Sigrid

Thank you so much...but since I still haven't read how the FE goes, I better pass before I commit to anything I'm not sure I can't do. Is there a quick link I can get a reference on?

Unfortunately there is no quick link but here is a blog post that I found when I was first starting out:

http://blog.suchthespot.com/2011/01/disney-cruise-how-to-fish-extender/

Basically cabins ie yourself sign up on Disboards for Fish Extender. You purchase or make a fish extender to hang outside your cabin:

http://www.etsy.com/shop/StitchesAplenty?section_id=10075372

Next you organise gifts that you as a cabin are going to give to the other cabins. There are no rules with regards to gifts as to whether you provide one per cabin or break down and provide one per person etc. It is entirely your choice. It is not one per person per day which I know can be confusing and it is up to you when you deliver. You will see on this forum that I have been maintaining a list of people; ages and sex breakdown within the cabin and cabin number. I have also, just as extra information informed about wedding, honeymoons and birthdays. At the moment with have 19 cabins and 64 people. This will be the total unless you decide to join. I have contacted all the people within the group to find out if they are willing to let you participate as we had closed the list on saturday and am just waiting to hear back on a few more replies. You can choose whether you wish to make the gifts or purchase them or a mixture of the two by purchasing and making amendments/upgrades to them. Yes there is a large amount of information in this thread alone, but definitely worth a read. Here is a link to a thread all related to gifts for the FE:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1980639

I have told people that a confirmation will be provided by tomorrow evening (09/01/11) as there are a few families heading off in as little as a week so they need the numbers to get things ready.

Hope this helps

Just to let you know I've individually contacted everyone and I've had feedback from over 50% and all of them have said yes.
