Well, this solo uppity would be more than happy to let any nonuppities come use the verandah----just come knock on the door of 7120 :) Deeanna, somehow, I think I'll know which room is mine after the pub crawl...nice try, though ;)

He is the oldest of us kids. My parent had six of us. I'm the baby of the family. He was 15 years old with I was born. I can't remember much of growing up with him because he was basically in college while I was still in diapers. He is 58 years old, two kids in the twenties, and a grandson.

He lived the perfect healthy life. Physically active, did'nt smoke, did'nt drink except an occasional drink of wine. Very successful in his career.

I had asked my mother if we should'nt go on this trip. But she felt we just go and ENJOY. My brother could have days left, weeks left, or maybe months left. You just don't know. I can't help to still feel a bit guilty about it all, in case he leaves us while we are gone.

Ok, I'll agree with Dennis on meeting on the upper deck for the Bon Voyage Party. I think that would be good, but I am up for whatever everyone else wants. The secret deck 7 could be fun as well. And I don't even remember where the Promenade Lounge is...must have had a few too many Miami Vice's! :drinking1 Goodness gracious those are delightful. I guess I am ready for the Pub Crawl. :smooth: Hee hee.

Deanna - I am going to keep checking on the catagories periodically, but I know I probably won't change rooms. I get a little bit seasick the first night until my body gets used to the rocking. So I think I will just be happy with my room I have now that is kind of close to the center of the boat.

smilingmouse - Now that we have officially been invited : Party on smilingmouse's verandah!!!! Woo Hoo!! :rockband: :bday: :jester: :crowded: Sounds like a good place to end the pub crawl. ;)

I posted my previous post before I saw yours.

I agree with your mom. You should go and enjoy and try to have fun. You are right, you don't know what's going to happen. It's so hard. I'm thinking of you.

Oh SmilingMouse..that was so generous of you!! What was that room number again?? :teeth:

I think she said 7120 :cool1: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ingrid - continued thoughts and prayers for your brother and you. Have been in similar situation when DH's dad was dying of prostate cancer. He told us go ahead because it was an opportunity DH shouldn't miss. It was tough, but we went.

LOL....Guess it doesn't matter that I "can't remember" :rotfl: :teeth: everyone else will remember for me :rotfl2: :sunny: :cool1:  Come to think of it, that could be a good thing. That way, I won't get lost during the pub crawl....all of you know where to bring me now :cheer2: :rotfl2: ;) :flower:

Gilesfamily- continued thoughts and prayers for your brother. Along the same lines, I have a slight medical situation in my family to contend with. My Dad had Quintuple bypass 2 years ago on my Birthday and almost died. In Feb. while we were all at DisneyWorld he could barely walk around, his legs would go numb. As soon as we returned from WDW, they discovered 3 blockages in his legs, and they were able to remove those. When they were doing the leg surgery they discovered that he has 4 anerysms (spell ?) in his abdomen, which his surgeon had said they would remove them sometime in Sept. I've been all over him about not scheduling it while I'm gone. I don't want my Mother to be alone, and it is somewhat serious surgery(any surgery is serious when you are on blood thinner). So he laughs and says " Oh you don't want me to mess up your vacation do you?" He is only 59, too young to have all this going on like your brother.

Julie, how is Jack? Some fever virus is running rampant here in Baldwin Co. Lots of kids out sick at school already. Hope he is doing better.

bpicard- I can totally relate about the Kindergarten thing. Holland is doing fairly well, but she is tired and irritable. She came home yesterday telling me that no one likes her, that the boys were mean to her, and even "I didn't care anything about her!" :confused3 Man, the next 13 years are going to be really loooonnnnggggg!!! :rotfl2: Whew, what a flair for the dramatic she has! Her Kindergarten teacher assured me today that she has plenty of friends, and her Daddy told her that little boys are just mean sometimes, so she was better today! ;)

Oh and Southernmouse's room # changed to 2500 when we swapped to a different travel agent. We are still in 2504.

Smilingmouse, thanks for the room visit offer. What time should we all come by? Since your the expert babysitter, maybe we can leave all the kids in your room one evening. I'm sure they would love to play on your veranda! Just kidding! I guess we'll have to make do with our porthole. Southermouse was really hoping for an upgrade, I know that she'll be disappointed that the ship is so full.

Well, I need to get myself to bed! Goodnight all!

Erin,

Have I ever told you that two of the things I likw best about you are your vivid imagination and your sense of humor ;) :Pinkbounc :wizard: :rotfl2:

Good Morning :wave2:

Wow - You guys have been busy again ... Must be the kids to school adrenaline ... Did I ever mention that I was a 2nd Grade School Teacher MANY years ago? What fun

Anyone (parents) needs a Verandah fix and some quiet time are welcome to come visit at Power Place ... (Room 6572?) - I am always amazed at how much I like my "quiet time" on cruises. :confused3

bpicard ~ Great sheet!!! No issues from me ~ OCD Planners feeding off each others information propogates the species!!!

Becky - Yep!!! BOMA's :earseek: Great Place!!! Zebra Domes ~ Yummy

Ingrid ~ Magic Kingdom is a great choice!!! Make sure you do the "Pirates of the Carib" to get in the mood!!!

Well, I have been home almost a day now, so, Chrystina  has found herself obligated to give me a "To Do List" :confused3 Is this an OCD tendency woman thing? :rotfl2: Fortunately, there are a lot of outdoor chores. Can work on my base tan ...

Not much else happening, just watching the development of "Katrina" - which should be long gone - Let's hope for calm weather after that ...

Must go arrange my Moose Nugget collection ...

Dennis

Smilingmouse- You probably thought I was making you a door magnet to be nice. But my motive was actually so everyone would know where the babysitter with a verandah lives! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You won't mind the words "Free Babysitting" on your magnet will you? :rotfl: :rotfl:
Just kidding! Off to work. Deanna

Good Morning everyone!!!

- The magnet holds I have mine on my frig. I think I might make another or a couple I am getting to excited. I see some doors have more than one I need something to do with my nights when I can't sleep. :cloud9: :cloud9:

- Its my first time on the ship so I don't have a vote for the greet - just tell me when and where, I will tell hubby to be there an hour early - then he might make it on time....... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

- Shopping last night I got the DD birthday presents, and my pedicure. But nothing else do. Guess I will need to go shopping while hubby paints the kitchen celling this weekend :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Well off to work I will check in on you guys later.

I do have early dinner all by myself, but maybe I can recrute a few more for our group. Maybe some of the missing ones that have early dinner but never post any more. :confused3 :confused3

Hi All,

Who do you think will do the DOCUMENTS dance first?

Should we start a pool?

Gotta Run...

  NO HURRICANES!!

David

David- since I am the southernmost member of our DIS crew, it would stand to reason that I would be first to get my docs, if they are mailed from a Florida location. Or did we have some folks that were from the Orlando area? Anyway, I hope we get them soon! Then I'll have one more item to put in a safe place, and then try to remember where it is! :rotfl2: I would think they should be arriving soon.

Dennis: I wish we were going to get to WDW a few days before the cruise. We will just slide in at the last minute. But we are going to try out Boardwalk villas for one night when we get off the boat, before sadly dragging ourselves back to Alabama. :sad1: With the girls being in school, we can't miss any more than the week. I found out yesterday that only 3 days of the 5 missed will be excused. That means I'll probably receive the "bad parent" letter from Baldwin Co. and they'll threaten to make me meet with the juvenile judge! :scared1: Oh well, hopefully my children will still be able to make it into community college after missing school to see Mickey Mouse! :rotfl:

Thanks to Kim and Julie for the reassuring words about the tropical attire. I do think that I'm going to post about it on the main boards to see what kind of response I get. Southernmouse said that they will be "goobs" with us, and wear their tropical wear on Pirate night, yeah!! we won't be alone! ;)

Well, folks, I must make like a good wife and mother and do some cleaning today (I hate that for me!). I also have to make some phone calls about obedience training for the dog(she is outta control!!!! ). DH is threatening to find her a new home if we can't do something with her. I sure hope that my kids turn out better than the 2 dogs we have had! :rotfl2:

Erin - Jack's fever only lasted about 12 hours. It was the strangest thing, by the time it was time for dinner, it was gone for good. I am thankful, but it just got me worrying about what if he gets sick right before the cruise...like he did last time!! He has great timing! I will be thinking about you and your Dad, that is scary to have to think about. p.s. Tell Holland that the Mean Boy Situation will only get worse until it gets better! ;) Those boys are something else.

I just cannot wait to drop the kids off at the Barney Brood Babysitter's Club, aka Dennis and Smilingmouse's rooms...that will be so nice! :rotfl:

David - Last time we didn't get docs until 2 weeks out. And with my luck lately, I will just be happy if we get them! :)

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

NO HURRICANES, POR FAVOR!

Deanna---sure, now ya tell me!!!!!

Julie--you and Erin have the same sense of humor!!!!!!

Typicaly, we have received our docs between 10-14 days before the cruise...

Happy Wednesday all :)

Deanna, what brand of walkie talkies did you buy?? I haven't bought mine yet. i have heard the motorola walk abouts are good. We have also given DD's check out privilages this time. Again on a trial basis and ONLY when they are together. They have been told if they don't follow the rules (they usually do) their "privilage" will be gone in a heart beat. Luckely since they are always together they keep each other honest because they know the other will nark them out :rotfl:

Smiling mouse you party animal

Our DD's loved the Porthole on Cat 9 soo much last time (with our upgrade of course) we decided to book it this time. It is nice to be able to see the ocean go by and know when we have docked.
