I'll just sit back and wait until I hear when someone here receives their docs before I call my TA. She has been absolutely no help at all. Next time I'll just book directly through Disney. She gave me the wrong reservation number, and I told her it was'nt right, and she insisted it was, so I had to call Disney get my number. When the airline tickets came in, she filed them away for about two weeks before calling me to tell me they were ready. So I'm going to be on my toes once the cruise docs start filtering in to everyone and call her several times if needed until she gives them to me.

I think it also depends what if any travel agent you used.

last time we used a local travel agent and our doc's went to them and we had to go pick them up. I don't know how D/U handles it.

HEY....was that a newbie post I saw??? :cool1:
Icartjetta: Are you Lurker, come join in. :cheer2:

Erin: I am hoping for the best when we tell our teachers DD's will be gone. Here in OR they just recently changed our abscense law, I believe its more than 5-7 days in a 4 week period.....something like that. I know we are right on the edge, thats when you get a call from the school. Don't know if they will consider excused or not? :confused3. We'll find out next week at Middle school orientation, I always request the homework 2wks prior to the trip so they can have it done before we go. Don't want to have to worry about it while we are on vacation. :)

No Hurricane dance :cheer2:

Does anyone know what night Pirate Night is?

pirate:

Its on the Second resturant rotation. So that would be night 5, Wednesday. Right??? Hopefully we get APL, that would put it on our second night in Parrot....

Hey Icartjetta!!! :wave2: Where did you come from??? How long you been lurking out there? Must have been awhile since you originally registered in 2003. :teeth: Welcome aboard ...

Kim - Doesn't the DCL have walkie-talkies on board? I think you might want to check before you buy.

David ~ Document Dance? I suppose that means more Moose Nuggets?

OCD Alert - - - just thought I'd post an updated chart

this one includes what I could figure out re: dinner seating

also, did tell DDs teacher already that we'd be gone and miss 6 days of school. She said it wasn't a problem, we'd have homework assignments already and DD should be fine :goodvibes

I have already printed it out! You are too good!

It's good that your school is ok with the vacation absences. I told Bailey's teacher at the ice cream social before school started this year. I just had to write a note and give a copy to her, the principal and school nurse telling them why she would be missing. They are happy we get to go on such a fun (and educational? :) ) trip together. I was relieved!

Hi, Icartjetta! Welcome!

I have told Holland's teacher that we are going, because I know her so well, and I knew that she would be okay with it (Briley had the same Kind. teacher and we took Briley out to go to Disneyland for a week). But since Briley is in 4th grade and in a new school, with a new teacher, I'm a little leary of letting her know. I wanted to wait a few weeks so that she could see what a good student Briley is, so hopefully that will help. We got the official warning from Briley's school yesterday about only allowing the 3 days, so that's how I knew about it without actually asking yet.

PS. Your list is awesome! I'm so computer illiterate I can't even change the photo in my signature without DH's help!

I know we are going to have "issues" with our school. Chantel is going to a new school for Gr. 2, and when I went to register her in June, they told me about this "extended absent policy", and so I mentioned it to the vice-principal right then that she would be away for 7 days. They basically said that the teacher will not give her any extra assignments, and for any assignments she misses, she will get a zero. So be it, I told them. What is she going to miss in Gr. 2 for a week? algebra? :teacher:

Perhaps her teacher will be a bit more understanding. She does'nt start until Sept. 6th, but there is a "meet-the-teacher" on Sept. 1st, and I'll have to use my intuition on whether to tell her then or in a couple weeks after school starts.

Is anyone interested in linking the dinner reservations together? It would be great to know someone at dinner.

Iam sure Dennis would help us he is such a nice guy :goodvibes :goodvibes when he isn't playing cribbage :teeth:

The list is great thank you.

and its room 7120 for late night party and babysitting I hear??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am glad DD is in pre school and they don't care just one less kid :teacher: :cheer2:

Wow, you can tell everyone is getting excited with all the chatter.....Its great.

I'm getting VERY excited now that we're under the 1month date :cool1: .

Dennis, No DCL does not have the walkie talkies like they do at the parks to rent. Its ok DD's would love to have some at home anyway. There are lots of other places we can use them.

i was trying to email my door signs to my work computer,(the printer there is better quality) and accidently emailed them to my Brother-in-Law :rotfl2: ....Shot of a quick email this am when I realized what I had done :rotfl: .......I'm sure he can't figure that one out...... :rotfl:

Kim- I'm sure your brother-in-law loved the door sign. And I'm sure he also thought you were nuts. :earseek:

You parents are making me nervous about telling our school about the cruise. I previously wasn't worried, now you are giving me cold feet. :cold: :cold: Maybe we could make up an elaborate story about how we went on the Price is Right game show and won this trip. And we weren't allowed to pick the dates. And it has always been your DREAM vacation! You would never be able to afford such a trip without their help. Do you think they would be more sympathetic? :rotfl: I guess I would also need to say that I kissed Bob Barker. :goodvibes Do they have that game show in Canada?

We got the Motorola walkie talkies. They are either an eleven or ten mile range. Because on these boards they suggested over 5 mile range and they would work better. I hope they work. Kids are sure having fun playing with them around the house. I've heard enough "10-4 good buddy" chatter to last me a lifetime in the last few days. :earboy2:

Icartjetta- Welcome to the group. :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: Please come back to chatter. If you are a really good typist, we will even entice you with a moosey nuggie. :Pinkbounc

Yes, Pirate night is officially on Wed. night. Cozumel night. pirate: Glad to hear everyone will be dressing up for the occasion! Maybe that is the night we should take a dis group photo. Say "cheese" :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Marsha- we can't hook up with you for dinner because no more early seatings are available. :earboy2: Maybe you should just come and join us late seaters! We promise we will watch our manners and not put our elbows on the table!

I forgot to mention Julie's autograph book for the characters. She is making this awesome book for her DD. You should ask her about it! You scrapbookers would really be interested! :bitelip:

Okay, we haven't talked about formal night! How dressy is everyone going to be? I'm wearing a long black dress that I had purchased for a wedding with lots of sequins. My DH will be in a suit. Anyone wearing tuxes? :groom: :groom: :groom:

Check back later. (or as my walkie talkie kids would say............over and out!) :wave2: Deanna

That is so funny...and probably true!

Luckily, I was able to schedule the cruise the same week as Bailey's Parent-Teacher Conferences so she is only missing either 3 or 4 days of school. Which totals 9 or 12 actual hours in Kindergarten. I think she'll be fine!!!!

For formal night, Clint will be in a suit. I will be in a black knee-length dress with a sparkle-thingy in the middle. Wow, as I describe it, the dress sounds ugly. But I don't think it is. What how much less formal is semi-formal night? I don't exactly know what to wear on that night.

Moosey-nuggie is funny - I'll take two.

p.s. I love Bob Barker. :lovestruc

This is Deanna's dress for formal night.

What?! :confused3

wow, we have REALLY been talkative today!!! I may have to get in the pirate spirit too....I was planning on wearing somethig tropical since I don't have any pirate garb....*sigh* what am I going to do?!

Yeah, I seem to recall watching the Price is Right…sometime in the 70s. Is it still around? :confused3

I’m giving the teacher as little information as possible. I’m telling her we are going out of town on a trip. She does’nt need to know where. Although I can’t see Chantel NOT telling her herself. Even today while we were shopping for groceries, she told the cashier she was going on a cruise. :teeth: She tells everyone everything! Sometimes when she takes something out of context, it does'nt come out too well.

When DH was working nightshift, I would sleep in the guestroom so that he would'nt disturb me when he got home, and the same in the morning, I would'nt disturb him when I wake up. Anyways, Chantel was painting these light switch covers for a craft at Brownies. And the leader suggested that she put it in mommy and daddy's room. And then Chantel said "oh..no..mommy and daddy don't sleep together anymore!" It was one of those moments where I did'nt know whether I should try to explain it, or just quickly walk away. :rotfl:

formal night?

Still not sure what we are going to wear. Probably DH won't be wearing a suit. At most a dinner jacket and slacks. Me? I haven't a clue. Chantel might wear her flower girl dress. It all depends on what I can shove in the luggage.

I'm all stressed out trying to figure out how to bring everything I want and still stay within the airline's luggage limit!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA............ :rotfl2:
Deanna LOVE the dress.....you've been holding out on us HA HA HA :rotfl2:
