To those of you who have cruised with Disney before............did you previously hook up with a DIS group online before going? Or is this your first time to join the DIS? Deanna

I was with a DIS group in January, but we weren't as much of a planning group as this one. We were all really excited to go, but I don't think any of us had been before and we didn't know much about it. I didn't research very much before we went, that's why our day in Nassau wasn't too exciting, although I have never seen such a beautiful shade of blue water. :sunny: Our vacation last time was sort of a celebratory trip for us as a family. Jack had been though a major back surgery and was in a body cast for 2 1/2 months prior to our trip. Actually, this time, we will be sailing exactly one year after Jack had his surgery!! Woo-Hoo!! My DIS group last time wasn't very concrete in terms of where we would meet or anything like that. I only ended up meeting one other DISer on that trip, but she was really nice. I wish I had met more of them. I felt like there wasn't time for much on the 4 day, I was stressed about where to be all of the time. I know I will be 100% more relaxed. I am really excited! So anyway, long answer to your short question! :teeth:

:) Julie, I was just reading the thread with DS on my lap when he pointed to Bailey's picture and said "pwetty, pwetty" just thought you should let Bailey know.

Hey Julie,

If you would like to read HP & the HBP, I'd be happy to bring it for you to read...

This cruise is kinda a celebration cruise for us, hubby came back from IRAQ in April but wasn't due back until August that is why we booked the cruise in Sept. :cheer2:

DH is 41, me 35 and DD will be 3 turning on Sept 5th. I would love to hook up with you the group. ::MickeyMo We are having early dinner.

Not sure if I will have time to read all 91 pages and keep up on the new ones but I going to try. :hourglass

Any info you think a newbie could use please let me know.

Thanks for all the Welcomes, We are from Rhode Island. Going down to FL two days early to relax before the cruise.

Marsha- Congrats on getting your husband back early. Thanks to you and your family for him serving for our country! That is so awesome to make that sacrifice. :cool1:
Julie- very interesting about your other DIS group. I hope we do better at meeting each other on this cruise. I can't believe Jack was in a cast for that long. Good googly moogly. :earboy2:
Let's see.....................Dennis......................today he must be swimming with the sharks in the Caribbean. :earseek: I hope Chrystina has his life insurance paid in full!
Marsha- our group has linked reservations for the late dinner seating. Since you are early, that won't work. There is one other person on this thread that is having early dinner. But I can't remember who it is. What category of a cabin are you? We are category 10.
See ya. Deanna

Okay everyone...I took another two week rest from the board. Been very busy, you know beach on weekend and visiting my FIL in the rehab center and prior to that the hospital. I have some catching up to do with the reading. I'm quite sure Dennis has made some comment about wiping my butt in cribbage and since I have not had the time to practice, I might let him win one game. :rotfl2:

Marsha, Welcome, I am the offical BVP Baton holder, :wizard: we are all hooking up on board. I just have to get my act in gear, which has been very hard to do lately. Would you please tell your wonderful husband that my family thanks him very much for all he has done!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to meet him and thank him personally. I'm from Easton, MA and we visit RI every weekend and go to Little Compton. We go to the town beach......that's where I'll be heading on Saturday and Sunday. I've got to work on my base tan for the cruise. What part of RI are you from. Hey we could hook up prior to the cruise and meet up at the beach!!! I have a DS who is 8 going on nine, he loves to surf the waves with moi!!!

I must go now and play catch up this weekend with all!!!

Bye for now! :wave2:

bpicard9-That is so adorable that your son said that. I will tell her, she will be embarrassed, but happy about it!

smilingmouse - I will have to tell you closer to time if I have already read it yet. I am going to get #2 this weekend! Thanks for the offer!

Marsha - What a GREAT surprise to have your husband home sooner than expected! :goodvibes That is wonderful! I don't know how you all do it, but I am thankful you do!

DiDi- Glad you're back! We missed your posts!

Talk you soon all later!

Marsha--welcome aboard!!! I think that you will find us to be a fun and crazy bunch :)

Does anyone know where Dennis is these days? I bet he'll have several interesting stories for us when he gets back!!!

Where in Cat. 11, on the 6th fl., maybe that person will show up to the list and find me.

Thanks about hubby, we are thrilled to have him back, if all goes well he will be retiring this year with is 20 years done.

DIDI- Providence, it would be great to meet up. Maybe next weekend, not sure where the beach is. My basis tan in 0 only been to the beach once this summer. Family on both sides in RI and it seems like something to do every weekend, OH and all the home coming partys this year is killing me. But I love them. This weekend is Awards on Saturday and then a party on Bailey's Beach in Newport, then Sunday a baby shower, Sunday night dinner with friends. and back to work Monday where does the weekend go. But the fast the better until the cruise gets here. :cheer2:

We are in a Cat. 11 on 6th floor, too! Maybe we are neighbors?

As for advice for a newbie: Book any excursions, Palo, Spa treatments online and register your daughter online before you go. Get to the Port fairly early(not crazy early though), just so you can be on the boat and enjoy it more that first day. Plan what you would like to do on the boat and in the ports of call, but don't get stressed about it. And relax. (I should take my own advice) It is really fun and there's nothing like watching your daughter meet her favorite Princess for the first time! :cloud9:

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to the lake I go. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Have a great weekend!

Marsha- I am hoping my kids can find a special something for your husband for serving our country! They think servicemen are so cool. Glad you are in the group and it appears as though you are getting hooked. Be careful. This board is addicting.

See ya. deanna

Hi I would like to let every one know I am up to page 35 okay work was slow and I am addicted!!

Dennis - I am getting to the Cribbage game now, I haven't played in about 18 years but I use to be pretty good, Once or twice I real beat my grandfather, and he let no one win. I would love a refresher course and maybe a game or two.

No one bet on me its a good chance of loosing. :earboy2: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I will keep reading.

I will make a note, Daughter wants to stay late at club, DH will need to pick her up. I might need that help finding the room last time I was out to the Pub was the New Years Eve I (3 weeks Preg. with DD) And I did the crawl, didn't know I was Preg.

Hi Marsha,
Welcome! Me and DH and DD (6) will be in Cat. 12.
My real name isn't Ingrid, nor is by DH's name Gringo, but I have the feeling we will be called that now! :rotfl:
It was a busy shopping day today. I finally got Gringo off to do some clothes shopping for the trip. And I thought I was expensive! I managed to get some wonderful summer clothes for real cheap for myself last week, and thought I could do the same for Gringo, but ended up spending a fortune for clothes for him! Ya see, his wardrobe at home consists of 50 pairs of sweatpants and 50 pairs of t-shirts..nothing appropriate for the cruise, so we had to get EVERYTHING. By the way everyone, Gringo is a boilermaker/shipbuilder, so if the ship hits an iceberg or something, he will come in handy. :rotfl: I told him if he had to fix the ship, I want a least four free cruises for payment! ;)

Hi all, Welcome Marsha, and congratulations on getting your husband back early. That's a great surprise. Our family appreciates all that your family has sacrificed for us!

I'm typing on DH's laptop using dial up. Ugh! We had a nice thunderstorm yesterday and it knocked out our DSL. Bellsouth told me they would come out on the 15th to fix it! After three phone calls this morning, they said they will be here this Tuesday. A little better. The thunderstorm also knocked out the breaker to the garage, so when I arrived home from swimming yesterday, the garage would not open. I had no house key (I never carry one, stupid me), no purse (accidently left it in the house), and it was raining. I checked all the doors and windows, hoping that I might have left something unlocked, but no luck. I waited for DH to come home and he had no house key either, so we had to call a locksmith to get us in our house! Guess what, I now have 4 nice house keys to my house! :teeth:

I'm starting to worry about Dennis too! He usually keeps us posted about his wherabouts, and lets us know if he won't be checking in for a few days. Where are you Dennis?

I'm so glad to hear that others are doing the tropical thing, and we won't look so silly.

bpicard, so glad that Disneyland was so fun. We went there for the 1st time ever in 2001. Growing up in Florida, and being so used to WDW I was worried I would be disappointed, but we loved it. I loved comparing the parks and seeing the original. We also loved CA. Thought Soarin was awesome. We did four day passes, and I could have spent a week there. Someday, we'll go back again, although I'm not sure when that will be. Dh and I will being going to Vegas in Nov. (for DH's conference) but we won't have any time to slip over to LA this trip. Since the girls are missing a week of school for the cruise, we won't be taking them to Vegas (except for DD2) because they can't miss any more school.

Well I'll dial up and check in later! Erin

I read another 10 pages! only another 50 to go......

Jamie - We have early seating if your interested in hooking up.

Cujobugs - I am staying at Ron Jon's the two nights before the cruise if you want to hook up before the cruise.

Julie & Kblesx we are kinda neighbors on dec 6 my cabin is 6089, TA said its a good deck and I hope we can trust her, (but you know booking with friends can be dangerous......lol)

Excursions Plans - if anyone has any feed back on what I thinking let me know plan on taking the 3 yr DD with me on these.

Key West - Conch Republic Tour & Museum Package
Day At Sea - Spa Manicure & Pedicure for me (figured DH could handle DD for a couple of hours) :teeth:

Grand Cayman - Nothing plan just look around on my own

Cozumel - Chankanaab Sea Lion Discovery

At Sea - Don't know

Castaway Cay - Glass Bottom Boat Scenic Voyage.

Everyone thanks for the Thanks to my DH.

I am trying to catch up!

If some one can tell me how to get a pic on I will down load one.

Marsha - Hope you are having fun reading our long thread! Your room looks like it's in a great location, midship.

Erin - A couple of weeks ago our babysitter locked her and the kids out of the house while we were gone. There was no spare key (uggh!) and she didn't remember my husband's cell phone number so our neighbor cut out the screen in our bathroom and put Bailey through the window to go in and unlock the door. Luckily, I had left a bathroom window unlocked on accident. :teeth:

Ingrid - I feel safer with Gringo aboard! :sunny:

Ok, I am seriously worrying about Dennis. I hope we hear from him soon.

Marsha, when we sailed on the Wonder in '02 we were in 6099. It is a great location, very convenient to everything. There is some dead space in between the 2 rooms that makes some humming noise(not sure what's in there). I was really nervous before we went, because some had reported it really bothered them. I did not bother us at all. I could hear the hum, but it wasn't enough to be a problem. You can run up the staircase and be right at the beverage station which was nice. I think I'm going to miss the location, since we'll be on deck 2 this time.
