Deanna and Kim...
THANK YOU!!! :goodvibes :cool1:

David, I liked it....but I don't want to say anything. Feel free to PM me when you're done and we can discus....I definately have thoughts on book 7....

GilesFamily - I don't know how long I'll be wearing the eyepatch myself. Bailey wore one at the pirate party last time and she was so funny trying to get around. She ended up wearing it on the side of her head!

Deanna - I don't know anything more about the glass-bottom boat tour in Key West. I read the stuff in the passporter and people didn't give it the best reviews, but doesn't always mean anything. It sounds like fun to me. In my new signature pictures, Jack is sitting in our popcorn bowl. He pulled it out the other day and sat in it. I walked by and asked him what he was doing and he said "Just bein' popcorn". He is so funny! Oh, and I got the pirate earrings along with the eyepatches at US Toy. Have you ever been there? You have to go, it is just too much fun. They have a whole section dedicated to pirate stuff.

Kim - The babies are doing so well, thanks for asking! I swear they get bigger by the hour, they are so sweet!!

David - Are you really planning on rebooking on board? I was going to ask if anyone was planning on doing that. It seems like you can't really go wrong. Yes, you have to put down a deposit, but if something happens you can always cancel without penalty. I may have to plan one for 2007 or something like that. :smooth:

smilingmouse - You sound like me when I get started on a book. I obsess about it and read it all times of the day and night until I get it finished. (I know, it's hard to imagine ME obsessing about anything! :teeth: ) Or is it just because it was a Harry Potter book?

Have a great night!

Julie ~ Thanks for the Pirate Stuff pirate: That's great to hear!!!

David - My countdown is an OLD program that I have had hanging around for years. It's simple & works great for multiple events. Always confuses clients and others when I provide detailed timelines to the MAIN event when everyone is getting bogged down in the "crisis of the moment". PM me an email and I will send it to you.

Deanna - Yes, I do have WanderingWays - don't I? :rotfl2: Program and project manager when I am working. Yes, MOST of this trip is work. Just like to keep busy when I am not working and ENJOY the world & life around me. My observations are that most folks don't appreciate what they have and/or are doing. Pessimism is easy ... Optimism takes a little work - but not much!!!

Giles & David ~ PATIENCE ... Time will be upon us soon enough :hourglass An old friend of mine used to tell me "don't wish away the times of your life, it will be over before you know it". Wasn't it just yesterday that we graduated from High School? That always confuses me cuz I was the youngest graduating student in High School & College - Now I am looking towards the BIG 60!!! :sad2: Of course, it is easy for me to preach patience, I have a PHd in OCD so I am always worrying about something!!! :rotfl2:

Becky - :wave2:

Kim - I can match the 100+ temps.. Ain't it great!!!

Dennis

Afternoon everyone,

Dennis: Another scorcher out west, got to love it, we're all trying to keep cool :sunny: Vegas may hit 117* today

David & Julie: We are also rebooking on board, hopefully for late Aug 2007. DD's are getting to old to keep pulling out of school. I hope they have some good itineraries.....I'm not interested in the west coast mexico thing.

kim

It's been a while since I posted, so I thought I would drop by to say Hello! I am enjoying reading everyone's chatter. Things around here have been too busy to check in daily so it seems like lately I always have a few pages to read when I check in. That's a good thing :chat: We had VBS last Saturday which meant most of last week was dedicated to planning that. I am in a wedding this weekend so I will spend this week getting ready for that, even though that's not all bad...getting my nails done, hair done, and getting a spray tan sounds pretty good :flower: It's just trying to fit everything in and the travel that can get kinda hectic :moped: But I also get to see two of my nephews who I rarely get to see this weekend so that makes it even better.

Have a great week everyone!!

Wow - Pretty quiet day today ... :confused3

Hi Keri/Julie/Kim - :wave2:

Yes Kim, it has been pretty toasty down here in ELP too. Leaving for Bangor, ME in the morning, so I will get a temporary reprise before Las Vegas.

Well, will check back as soon as I find out what the access options wherever I stop next. :rotfl2:

Be safe all

Dennis

Hey..I just sold Disney Cruise Line to my hairdresser! She is going to book a cruise now! I wonder if I can ask Disney if I get a commission on that! Or better yet, they can just give us an upgrade! (I won’t hold my breath) :teeth:

Yes, cujobugs..the one in the picture is the one getting married. :bride: I didn’t think the picture was still there. All I get now is a red “X”. Thought maybe the picture broke or something. The picture is about three years old, but nonetheless, she is getting married at the ripe ole age of 22. Her and her fiancé bought a house in May. The kids are going to have it paid off by the time they reach their 40’s. Wish I had bought a house when I was young. Then I could have done a lot more travelling, and a lot less mortgage paying!

David..I’m a little reluctant (or maybe “paranoid” is a better word) on posting my first name. I certainly have no problem with the DIS friends here but I don’t know who else may be lurking or stalking. And since my last name is so obvious from my username (I should have been more imaginative when picking a name), I’m a little cautious to put my first name. However, if the curiosity is killing anyone (although I doubt it), you’ll find our full complete names in the reservation link on the cruise line site! I guess until then I have to be a mystery person. I’ve noticed it too on how impersonal it sounds when someone directs a comment to me, and have been tempted many names to let everyone know my first name, but then the “fear” :scared: takes over! ….considering my last name and location is known, and someone out there close to home knows first-hand exactly what dates we will be away from home. Then again, if they want to come visit my brother-in-law with his “friendly” pit-bull who will be house-sitting while we are gone, they are more than welcome. His dog loves cats, but eats people. Actually, our cats eat people too. :cat: And our fish too. It is a Siamese “Fighting” fish afterall. :fish:

Howdy all,

Well, since Gilesfamily is reluctant about a name......Let's have a contest. Let's pick a name for her. Everyone can pick a name, whoever's name she chooses will win a moose nugget. Keep in mind, we are not trying to guess her real name. Just a name that fits her picture or her personality! Here we go. I think a 6'2" woman's name should be Ingrid. Please don't out due me gang, as I have only won one moose nugget for talking to Julie first! Ingrid Giles. It has quite a ring to it, doesn't it? PICK ME! PICK ME! PICK ME!

Julie- Yes I have been to that store. It is a fun and crazy place. I have been looking for pirate costumes on the web. Do they have costumes there at the store? Or just accessories? pirate: pirate: pirate:

I was talking to a man in Key West trying to book our scuba diving excursion. He said, "you're not coming until September, gee you sure like to plan ahead." :rotfl: Of course I do, I'm a member of this DIS group. You all understand!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great night! You too, Ingrid! Deanna :earsgirl:

You can call my hubby Gringo. That's his nickname at work. The reason is when he tans in the summertime, he gets really really dark. And he has black hair and a moustache, so he looks like a Mexican. I'm kinda worried about that. I think I'm going to have a hard time getting him out of Cozumel. They are all going to think he is a local, and not be convinced that he is actually a passenger on the ship.

Anyways..about this planning disorder we have. Gringo was telling me the other day that he thought all my research and planning was ruining the "surprise". Ok..I don't get it. :confused3

Here are some scenarios about these "pleasant" surprises I'm ruining:

We get to the airport. Realize we need passports. Don't have them..so can't fly. SURPRISE!
Get to the hotel, forgot to book. No room at the inn. SURPRISE!
Did'nt get advance park admissions, so have to wait in the 5 mile line-up to buy park admission. SURPRISE!
Get on the ship. Want to book shore excursions. What? All booked up? SURPRISE!

Ok..I could go on and on, but I think Gringo got the idea.

Love, Ingrid

Hi Ingrid!!

I understand perfectly about the name thing. ;) It's nice to be able to put a name to a face. I'm going to have to get you a DCL name tag.

We need to have a naming cerimony of some kind. Any ideas Dennis?

Also, I can't say we are really going to re-book on the cruise. But I CAN dream about a romantic gettaway without the kids.

Night all...

David

Hello everyone!

Dennis - Have a safe trip to Maine. Hope you get a break in weather!

Ingrid & Gringo? I like it!

Ingrid - That is so funny about ruining the "surprises" along the way on your trip!

Deanna - I didn't see any pirate costumes at US Toy. Just accessories. I bought a couple of pirate costumes online. I will see if I can post a picture and remember where I got them. These are children's costumes, but I found a whole bunch of adult ones as well when I was searching. I'm not sure what you are looking for.

This is Bailey's - it was only $11.99! It was cheaper than most I have seen. It's from amazon.com

This is Jack's. I don't remember where I got his, but this picture is from costumecity.com

Or, if you can wait that long, there should be Halloween costumes starting to come out before we leave for the cruise. I'm sure there will be tons of pirate costumes for adults and children.

Hi everyone....Is it Friday yet??? Today was a long, trying day....Night all!!!

Happy Wednesday everyone,

Smilingmouse, I wish it were friday. We are spending a long weekend at Lake Shasta, DD's are counting the minutes. :sunny: Won't escape the heat but maybe get to cool off

Ingrid???.......I like it, you realize though if we get used to calling you Ingrid we may not want to use your real name... :rotfl:
Dh's lovingly referred to by his coworkers and DD's friends as "Shrek"....you'll understand once you meet him, there is a slight resemblence......6'2", about 270', not bald (thought keeps begging me to let him shave his head) short buzz cut :rotfl2:, rough around the edges......plus its his favorite movie

Deanna, the moose nugget is all yours :earboy2:

Dennis enjoy your repreeve from the heat... :goodvibes

Folks,

I have lost who was wanting to go to brunch at Palo's on Thursday (10:30-12:30 at sea day). Who was wanting to go with wife and/or both of us? I know I asked if we wanted this to be girl's club time. The reservation is for 5-6 people, so either 4 other ladies need to claim a spot or maybe we can have two other couples join us. If we don't have enough spots claimed before the curise I will cancel the reservation and hope to get a spot for 1-2 when we get on board.

I was also reading some about the Navigator's series. Do any of the DCL veterans have more info on this? What is it/ When is it/ Adults only or Kids allowed?
