Deanna - Ahoy Matey - Not sure about the hat, but I think Chrystina  is making a shirt for me for Pirate's Night. SO, I suspect that with the shirt, bandana, eye patch (Thanks Julie) and whatever else, you will not be alone.
Perhaps you should determine those that need to "walk the plank" for lack of enthusiasm? :jumping1:

Well, off for my morning constitutional - Wx is great!!! Must get this done early since I have been assigned to mow the pasture today. :sunny:

Back later

Dennis

Hi All,

I was reading a prior post in front of Barney. He then jumped in my bag & I swear he said clear as day... I'm ready, Lets Roll!

:rotfl2:

I've got another good shot butI'll post that later in the week.

DiDi (by David, DiDi is cooking.)

Good evening,
I've been on this computer all day having fun. I've been making my magnet sign for our room door. I also made one for my SIL who has a room hooked with ours! I'm so excited. Then I made one for my friends who are going on an Alaskan cruise in one week with Celebrity Cruise lines. I am hoping that they have metal doors also. I'm thinking that would be a standard. But not sure. Any of you cruisers who have cruised on other lines know the answer to that?
Also been searching web for a pirate hat. There are lots to choose from, but I'm trying to get a subtle one. Not the kind with feathers sticking out of them. Thanks for also getting in the spirit, Dennis. I hope the rest of you adults will also.
Gee, Didi, I wish I had someone to write my e-mails and cook for me too.
Ingrid- loved the "cat out of the bag" comment. I still can't believe you are a quiet gal.
We are without kids tonight. I hope we don't have a souvenir. Ha.
Have a great night. Deanna

Good Morning all, :sunny:

The past two weeks have been quite busy, hence I've been a slacker and haven't participated. I caught up on the thread. I will be going to the beach today with the DH and DS. We will also be bringing a buddy of Patrick's with us. I do hope we have waves. Yesterday the ocean was calm and I couldn't use my boogie board. :sad2: We managed to work on the base tan, it's coming along slowly, when you're slathered with 45 sun screen it takes a bit longer to get brown. Years ago when I was young and not so wise, I used baby oil. Now, I'd rather be untanned and unwrinkled!

Deanna, by the way it was I who did the cooking last night while David did the posting for me. I'm not so up on commuters as BIL and DH. I showed David the pics of Barney and told him to help me put it up. Dinner last night was delightful, steak on the grill along with grilled onions, mushrooms, peppers and yellow squash. I picked up some small new red potates from the farm and roasted them with olive oil, fresh ground pepper, kosher salt and fresh rosemary(the rosemary came from my garden). Yummy!!!! The men smoked their cigars on the deck and drank a couple of Red Strips. :drinking1 My deck is looking like the garden of Babylon. My sister is quite envious :teeth: of my garden. I love Miracle Grow. :lovestruc

Ingrid, I love that name and by the way the swedish chef was my favorite character. Now we make the chocolate moose......here's the moose...wish I could type in the accent!! Yup the cat is out of the bag :rotfl: wait til you see the other pics coming. Needless to say, he's doing okay after his visit to the vet hospital. I just picked up some pet insurance for him. His stay at the hotel of healing gave me quite a lot of disney points.

Julie, a bit slow here, but I finally saw the pics of the babies. I want one!!!! Thank you so much for the eye patches and earrings. I'll wear them, I also want to dress up so thanks for the link and I'll also surf ebay. My menfolk will have to go along with the dress up, Patrick won't have a problem, by the DH is a bit reserved maybe I need to book a rasul treatment for us! :rolleyes1 On the deck we were also dicussing the Verandah treatment........BUT THERE WILL NO BE ANY SOUVENIRS!!!!!!! Julie, would daughter be interested to send a postcard to my son. Patrick loves to get mail and he loves to respond, even though she's a girl. He's at that age, where boy things are cool and one of his buddies is Cassidy. Cassidy is okay because she's one of the guys and plays with boy toys. The mind of an almost 9 year old.

Okay Dennis, I'm still here. I may have not played cribbage yesterday with David, but I have practiced a bit over the last two weeks. Coffee is getting cold, I will have to warm it up...I'm back. Gosh I know your pain!!!! To bad about the hospital stint. :sad2: Are you on meds? You know the kind that make you goofy, at least relaxed? Ice is your friend, remember 20 mins. on wait an hour and 20 mins. on!!!! Get that inflamation down. At least it was an over night stay, mine was almost a week. The pain was so bad, I was having chest pain, thinking that I was having an heart attack, they were popping those nitroglycerin tabs under my tongue. Morphine didn't even cut the pain. Nothing like experiencing nerve pain. :scared1: Are your hands numb? If so they might not be able to move the pegs for cribbage, that would be bad. ;) Hey, if you need a good nuerosurgeon while in Boston, I could recommend one. He doesn't promote surgery, those disks have a way of healing. I guess this cruise will be good for me, my neck is still healing, and if I went to Disney World, neck injury and all, I would still have to do the Rock in Roll rollercoaster at least five times. Then the tower of terror, you know all the rides that you should not be on with neck or back issues!!!

Smiling mouse are you a speed reader? I can't believe you beat my BIL in reading HP book!!! Good Job!!!

Erin and Kim hello to you too!!! :wave2: Larry, can I go twice to the brunch? I booked one for the 25th, I have two extra spots. But if no one else joins you maybe me and the hubby can go with you since he isn't going to the first one.

It's time to eat a bit of food and pack up for the beach later on.

DiDi :wizard:

YO All!!!x :wave2:

DIDI - Welcome back! :love2: Have some drugs for the lingering pain BUT I usually try to avoid them. The "side-effects" of drugs today appear to be worse than some of the cures. :scared1: Anyhow, life on the Great Northwoods farm is relaxing and there are limited activities for me to aggravate the consition. So things are improving slowly. Not worried about the numbness in my hands, I plan to get BIG hands. :rotfl2:

Julie - If any of those kittens have MAMA cats markings - let me know!!! Chrystina  doesn't want me to get a Cairn puppy SO I'll give her a choice. She says I won't be home to take care of the dog. WHERE in the world would she ever get that idea. :rolleyes1

Ladies ~ All you guys NOT wanting "little souvenirs" :confused3

Well, off to find something to do ....

Dennis

Ok, so I've been pondering this pirate costume thing for a while. I don't want to be a party pooper, but I don't think I can get a costume. I know some of those costumes are stretchy, but not THAT stretchy. However, I'm more than willing to don the bandana and eyepatch! DH is easy. He has a t-shirt with skulls all over it. He can wear that. I'm in the process of ordering DD a pirate costume. She is very big for her age, so picking up something from e-bay probably would'nt work. However, I found another website, and if I get on the ball here and order it, it should come by the time of the trip.

So now I have something new to worry about. I heard NWA may be going on strike...incidentally is the airline we booked. Hurricanes, airline strikes..is there anything else I should put on my "gray hair" list?

A big 'ol howdy from Kansas,

I wish I could post my door signs. You all would be proud of me! I am addicted to making them. Anyone else doing it?

Has anyone done a cabana massage? I'm curious if it is too hot and we should do it on ship instead.

Well I've talked my husband into a pirate skull/bones Dew rag hat. I thought that way he could keep his dignity without making him wear a hat with plumes. I also want to get him a t-shirt to wear for Pirate's night. I purchased the dew rag off ebay for about 6 bucks. Sounds fun.

Are we there yet?

Deanna

Hi everyone! I've been gone all weekend and I just got back. My sister and I went to a little B & B in a tiny little town in Missouri. We have been every year for the past 3 years and we have such a fun time! I can't wait until next summer! :sunny:

DiDi - You are welcome to have one of the babies. But I find myself really having a hard time picturing giving these kittens away. I have homes for at least 2 of them already, but I am very picky about prospective homes:snooty: They are so sweet. Their eyes are open (that cute, kitten shade of blue :lovestruc ) and they are noticing us more and more. And they smell so kitten-y. Does anyone know what I am talking about? It is silly, but I am in love...
My daughter would love to send a postcard to Patrick, if he doesn't mind getting one from a 5 year old girl. And since she is only 5 and doesn't exactly know how to spell too many words, she draws pictures and signs her name. :teeth: She does love to send mail though!!! And she doesn't have any problem with boys. She plays with her brother and my nephews and all of the little boys at T Ball and has a blast! I have a couple postcards left from our first Disney cruise that we could mail him, get him even more excited about going! Like his Uncle David! :teeth:

Deanna - I have been working on our door sign, but all I have is Microsoft WordPerfect to use so I am limited, please don't make fun of it. :p I'll see if I can get posted what I did so far. I agree, it can get addictive!

Dennis - I wish one of the babies was a calico. There is a white one that just keeps getting more and more markings each time I see her. I don't know if calico cats are born with that coloring or if they get the color in the first few weeks. I know that we have all fallen in love with Sophie (the mama cat) as well as the kittens. She is a very nice cat.

Ingrid - Good luck with the NWA ordeal. Hopefully, things will be resolved by then if anything should happen with a strike. I will have to look for some pirate themed attire for my husband. I won't even try with the costume. He'll wear the eyepatch, earring and bandana - no problem. I wish I was crafty and could make some fun pirate T-shirts for us. Something using an iron-on transfer? Maybe I could. I made pillowcases with my kids' pictures on them to get autographed on our last cruise. They were cute. Now, let's see if I can remember how I did that. :upsidedow YES! Something to obsess about! WOO HOO!

:teeth: Hi Everyone,

Just back from Lake Shasta....a good time was had by all :sunny:
But we're wipped. Maybe too much fun and sun. :teeth: Is that possible :confused3

I better get back to cleaning up, chatt at ya more tomorrow.

Deanna, Yes I am also making door sign, found cool pirate poster to us, from the main board thread. Also made second DCL one. I had DD's pick their favorate caractor (see too tired to spell :rotfl2: ) I will print them and cutt out for smaller magnets.

See ya later

Just checking before my morning constitutional :jumping1:

Kim - Glad you had a good & dafe trip. Ain't post-clean-up a drag?

DIDI - Playong cribbage every night here in the Great Northwoods of NH. :cool1:

Julie - My sister says Calicoes are visible from birth. She thinks the colors on the white will probably be orange & white as she gets older. :confused3

Ingrid - All will be well. Have you tried the Serenity Prayer? :sunny: Or do you just like to worry? :confused3 You could worry about the color of Julie's kitten, that would be a worthwhile effort. :teeth: Those "words of wisdom" brought to you from a lifetime woory expert. :rotfl2:

Well ... off for my morning constitutional :jumping1:

Dennisc

Good morning,
Glad to see some are making door signs. They turn out so well. We have the American Greeting Card program that we are using. And I've taken many pics from the internet. Let me know if anyone needs help. Maybe that is what I can give away at the sailaway party!

Have a great day! Deanna

Dennis - The little white kitten, who may or may not be a calico, has a little orange around the ears and darker colors on her head and neck and back. Whatever she is, she is adorable! My daughter named her Alice. :cat:

Deanna - This is what I made so far. It is very basic, not many cool Disney graphics, but I guess it will work. Let me know if you have any advice on making it better. I may try to make a pirate night door sign if I start to feeling frisky. I just wish I had a better program to use.

Hey Deanna: What would a person need in terms of starting a door sign? I'm very craft challenged. Can you buy magnetic sheets that can be put in the printer, or do you print them out then paste them on a magnetic sheet?

Dennis: I have a different version of the Serenity Prayer, but since this is a family board, I can't show anyone.

Julie: My DD will be sending some artwork to your DD today. I tried to get her to explain to me what it was, but she would'nt tell me. Confidential letter to Bailey I guess. :rotfl: I figured out the main theme of the artwork..a whale, but not sure what the embellishments were. Kids can figure these things out, so if Bailey lets you know, you'll have to share it with me.

Hey..another thing to worry about. I can't understand my child's artwork!

bipicard: There is letter on it's way to your DD too!
