A big 'ol howdy from Kansas!

I have only cruised once in Sept. and had no trouble with hurricane season. The weather was pretty warm but nice. I don't care if we get diverted as long as I am on vacation. I'll still be happy. :flower: We will just have to learn to be flexible. All the threads I've read assure me that Disney is generous about discounts and credits if things happen.

Kids and husband called in a shipboard credit for me. It is my mother's day gift. It was a credit for the spa. I'm having a massage! I can't wait for that one. This cruise is sounding better and better.
:Pinkbounc
I don't think we will dress up for pirate's night other than the headband Disney gives us. But I am hoping to find the kids something cute to wear. B&J's mom- where did you get pirate stuff? I've looked at a few places in KC but can't find anything. :confused3

I just signed up today to run in the Race for the Cure in August in Kansas City. This way I will be in great shape for the cruise. Time to start training. It is a 5K run. Sounds like fun. My mom died of breast cancer this past year, so I think it will be nice to do this event for the Komen breast cancer foundation.

Have a great night. Deanna

Hello everyone!!!

Deanna- I got the pirate stuff at U.S. Toy. Do you know where that is? It's off of I-435. It's the stoplight at Gate's BBQ right before the State Line light. They had some things there and they said they usually have more, but they were out. And what a great Mother's Day gift from your family! A massage sounds so good right now. :goodvibes I also wanted to tell you how wonderful it is that you are doing the Race for the Cure! What a great way to honor your Mom. Let us know how your training is going!! Keep us posted on it.

:cool1:

just wanted B&J's Mom, cujobugs and anyone else waiting for Southwest finally out.

found n/s flights for us. am currently in training so will purchase flights tonight.

My OCD can move to next item.

hope all are well.

bpicard9 - Thanks for the heads up!!

Am I crazy or are the cheapest tickets $347/person round trip?!? This seems so expensive. When we flew in Jan. I could swear they were only around $200! Am I doing something wrong? HELP!!!!!!!!

Does anyone who uses Southwest know if they repost their Internet specials? Yesterday, while at a training site, where I couldn't place a purchase, the flight cost was $99 person, today $153. :earseek:

Obviously, I didn't get yesterday's fare, so do any of you happen to know if I've lost my window for a better price? :sad2:

bpicard9- I have been studying Southwest now for months waiting for the fares to be released so I'm pretty sure I know what you are asking. I think you are asking about the Click and Save internet specials that you get through e-mail weekly. Is that the fare you are speaking of? If it is, they never resend this fare. It comes out on Tuesday and you have just a few days to book it. I received that email and see where you were going to get the 99 dollar fare. But don't fret because you wouldn't have qualified anyway. I copied this from their actual email.

Purchase through May 12, 2005, midnight Pacific Time.
Travel May 31 through September 12, 2005

This fare came out before they were booking through October. Yesterday was the first day you could book through October. So your dates wouldn't have matched. I checked fares from KC and the cheapest is almost 350 dollars round trip. Wow. It usually is around 200. Needless to say, I'm waiting for a special.

Purchase through May 12, 2005, midnight Pacific Time.
Travel May 31 through September 12, 2005
I don't think you were talking about the ding fares. If you were, I'm sorry about the confusion. But I don't see a St. Louis ding fare. So I assumed you were talking about the click and save.

Let me know if I have totally confused you! :confused3

B&Js mom- did you book your KC flights yet? Or are you waiting for a decrease in fares too? :sad2:

cujobugs - Not certain if it was an e-mail special. It's just that yesterday there was a column in the find fares field that had Internet Special $99 as an option in addition to refundable anytime, restricted fares, fun fares, etc. I've seen this on other fares (eg. stl to las) It was there yesterday at 3:00 p.m. but is gone today. no longer seems to be an available fare for any destination. :sad2:

It adds over $400 to our fare if I book today.

I'll just have to hope and wait for the email special, too.

thanks

cujobugs- I have not booked with Southwest yet. How are you getting the emails that give $99 tickets? How can I get signed up to get that? The lowest price I have seen for our flight is $165 each way ($330 round trip/person). Thanks for all your help!!

I found the "click and save" thing on Southwest's website and I signed up for it. This is really making me nervous that we don't have a flight yet. I have been looking at other airlines, too just in case. I just don't remember ever paying that much for a Southwest ticket!

Y'all Midwest types ... I think you are trying to do MCI>>MCO RT ~ Right?

Have you looked at these???

MidWest - $239rt
AirTrans - $241rt
US Airwy- $247rt

Dennis

I have looked at Midwest and AirTran. I have flown Midwest before and I think they are great! The only thing that Southwest has for us is the nonstop flight to Orlando. Thanks, Dennis!

Yes I'm with ya on the nonstop only. That is the only option from KC to Orlando nonstop. I won't fly anything but nonstop when we will be flying with four kids among our group! :grouphug:

B&Js Mom- I think the best thing from Southwest will either be a ding special or a systemwide savings. We shall cross our fingers. I am not booking until they get back into the low 200s. The $99 fare was only from St. Louis offered for that time. It wasn't from Kansas City. So you didn't miss anything out of KC. I am watching that fare like a hawk. Let me know if you come across a deal.

I'm cleaning house. SAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!
Deanna

cujobugs- I know what you mean about flying with the kids. My son who is 2 does not love flying. He doesn't scream or anything, but he has to hold my hand/arm the whole time. He is a little scared from the noises and all of that. I would love to just fly nonstop, it would be so much easier!! Don't worry, I will definately let you know if I find a good deal!! Have fun cleaning your house, now you have made me look around here and see that it is probably a good idea - hotwheels and My Little Ponies are EVERYWHERE!!!

Ok Guys ~ I will keep my fingers crossed and sprinkle pixie dust for ya :wizard: Hopefully, it will all fall into place. It's that KID thing again... Always tend to forget those issues.

Okay ... On a very different note, I need everyone thinking real positive on Wednesday, 18 May @ 1500hrs(MT). I have a job interview in El Paso for a position in El Paso. Living in the same place as Chrystina  HEART BE STILL!!! Keep your fingers crossed ~ I would even give up Alaska for her!!!

Dennis

DENNIS!!! Wow! I will certainly be thinking of you on Wednesday - Best of luck to you. That would be so great for you to get that job!! That's the first time I have ever used the dancing banana, but I feel that it is warrented in this situation!! GOOD LUCK!

Dennis:

Congrats!!!1Good thoughts and PD are on the way....please keep us updated!

Good luck :)

Well, Good Morning everyone ... :sunny:

Thought I would check-in quickly ... provide a mini-jump-up :Pinkbounc Say thanks for the good wishes & pixiedust...

After a very busy day ahead ... Golf, Trout fishing & BBQ ... I head out this evening for the trip to ELP... Takes about 14-15hrs :rolleyes1 Always LONG!
Get to have dinner with Chrystina  tommorrow ... BEFORE she leaves for Honolulu for a week. :rotfl2: I come home, she leaves... Am I missing something here? :rotfl2: Actually she has to attend some mandatory medical training seminar ~ Tough location... :rotfl2: So, anyways, I will check back in a couple of days from the Chihuahan Desert abode... Meanwhile, everyone stay healthy & happy ... Let's find a newbie!!!

And lest I forget ...
