the fireworks started on the Magic 7 day cruises, I think last month. The Wonder just had a test run the past 4 day (from what another poster mentioned) and buy May at the latest, The Wonder will have it only on their 4 day cruise, not the 3 day.

I think you are right though, only a bandana - no eye patch.

pirate: Suzanne - Thanks for the info. I have told my bride, so I am probably in trouble now ...

Wow Girl!!! Can you get them going? All over a nap!!! You better be careful what you ask next, you'll be walking the plank! Maybe if I use my pirate bandana and carry Chrystina, we could slip in place for you ... :rotfl2:

I KNOW - I started the biggest DIS debate known to mankind :rotfl: - I was really taken back by how personal people have taken it. I was basically just asking what eveyone did with sleepy kids during drill - I have never taken a child on a cruise - I had no idea!! Once someone told me the kids had to go to no matter what - okay end of discussion - no biggie. Why everyone else had to chime in with personal attacks and yelling at each other and what not - WHEW - I haven't been back to that thread in awhile, I can't imagine how bad it has gotten. I am glad it gave you a good laugh. I showed my DH the thread and now he thinks "they" will find out who we are and send security to escort us to the drill - because "they" think we have some alterior motive :rotfl2: We may even have the National Guard and FBI at our house soon. I better watch out!!! :teeth:

Well Suzanne, the discussion rages on - without you. I think you did the right thing. Walk away from it.

Personally, I think the lifeboat drill can be fun. Lotsa folks feeling uncomfortably dressed!!! The gives DCL takes the opportunity to take pics (for sale later). It doesn't take that long and is no place as inconvenient as most folks make it. Knowing where "your" lifeboat is is a good thing. Of course, I probably would not wake a sleeping child for it. They are not going to throw you off the boat or even take away your dessert!!!

But if they do take away your dessert, can I have it?

Okay other than keeping an eye on that thread to see how long it goes on, I am done with that topic. :earboy2:

:rotfl2: Suzanne - I can't help it!!! NAPS is up to 122 postings!!! We don't even have that many for this cruise!!! :rotfl2:

Amazing to watch what you started ... I have some openings in my staff in Alaska ... can use someone who can "motivate" folks.

Dennis

I know - I just went back to check on it. I came close to posting - to at least say - if you want to debate, keep me out of it. I asked a question and the first person answered it. I didn't need another 120 opinions on safety. Enough already!!

Really though, if its mandatory for kids too - then fine, I really didn't know. I never even knew it was a law and I guess it is really important to know where to go. The only other cruise I went on was with my mom about 12 yrs ago. I don't remember the drill being as horrible as others are making it out to be. I was just too excited for the cruise. I won't care to go to this one either.

Maybe I should have rephrased the question. I just wanted to know what others w/ preschooler did for sleep the first day. Whether they just skipped the nap, put them down early, put them into the kids club, something else?? That was what I was more curious about but no one answered that part, they were too busy yelling at each other. :earseek:

Oh and by the way, if I can't have my dessert - no one can!!! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Suzanne - It will depend upon how early/late you get to check-in. Chrystina and I usually like to get there earlier than later. Of course, we are usually somewhere in FL the day before so we don't have to mess with flights and such. Anyhow, if you "beat the crowd", then you go have some lunch, my recommendation is Parrot Cay (as opposed to Topsiders). Primarily because by then you are a bit tired and want to sit down for a somewhat relaxing lunch. After that, you can make your way to the cabin and lay relax (nap) for a few minutes before the mandatory (yes, it is maritime law - same as the law that requires airlines to brief about seatbelts & exits, etc). Anyhow, since we have been on multiple cruises, we don't have to go exploring right away. Especially on a ship that we have travelled on before. So we have always had time to get a few winks. I know that does not always work for a child but it is doable.

About the dessert, let's each take one from everybody on the "Naps Discussion", since they failed to understand and answer the question. Seems like a reasonable compensation... :earseek:

Okay, let's take a poll. Where are most of you staying Friday night? At the port? At WDW? We will be at Ron Jon's on Friday. Let me know if anyone is going to be there also. ::MickeyMo

Wow been away for a few weeks and I missed A LOT!!!!!!!!!

Happy St Patricks day......everyone enjoy their corn beef, Dennis you can have mine :earboy2: Me no likey :sad2:

Welcome to all new posters........
We don't have Pre schoolers.......DD's will be 11 and almost 10.
Dennis DD playes a pretty good game of Baccgamon (sp) she beats me.......not that thats very hard to do. I am hoping for some Golf games on board for DH...he is missing playing recently

Sympathys Suzanne74.....I have felt the wrath of the Dis boards, some people get WAY too carried away.. Sorry I can't weight in on naps, haven't had nappers in YEARS.....now its the parents who need naps :rotfl: :rotfl:
We did the Early dinner on our first cruise, weren't sure how DD's would do waiting.....we found that with all the other food they had eaten through out the day they could have waited for the later seating so that is what we requested this time, plus they are several years older now.
Good luck to you.

Thanks for the count down updates......the next 6 months is going to be a killer,,,,,,
Keeping fingers crossed for a light Hurricane season too.

Has any of you used captain marvins??? Wondering how far in advance I need to book.

Also considering Parasailing for DH...heard it could be done in Key west for cheaper....I will have to look for that info.

We will be staying At Best western Airpor inn near MCO friday night. We come from the West coast so Friday is an ALL day travel, I think we are scheduled right now to arrive around 11pm......hoping to get on an earlier flight out of OR :wizard: :wizard:
Will Rent car and drive over on saturday morning.

Can't wait for Snorkeling, bought whole family new masks and snorkels this last week :cool1: :cool1:

I love the activity on the thread. Got discouraged when no one was posting or chatting.....this is GREAt :cheer2: :cheer2: Keep it going, :grouphug:

Dh just asked me tonight "why don't we cruise during spring break?" (thats next week for us)......unfortunately I had to tell him its TOO expensive.

I have also been wondering about Pirate Night?????

I will try to keep on top of boards and post.....comming up to Soccer and VOllyball season for DD's.....very crazy.

Fourfoxes, I am also a convention tag-along. Dh had a yearly trade show in Vegas, its always week of and right on his birthday....I felt bad for him last year being his big 40, so I went with him......had soo much fun I can't wait to go again this year.... :love2: Not a kid trip though. Have a great time.

:hourglass
Got to go, but won't stay away long.
Thanks for the great chatter
Kim

Chrystina & I will be at the Wilderness Lodge Vacation Villas for a few days before. Plan to use Disney Bus transfer(s) from airport to Lodge to Cruise Ship to airport. We are pretty good at getting around on the WDW transportation system. This will be a first for using the Magic Express and Cruise Bus. Sure that it will work out ... :cool1:

Have stayed at hotel close to ship the night before. Lotsa folks there ... Had a great time... Who is organizing the "Bon Voyage" party?

I nominate Suzanne, I understand she is VERY GOOD at bringing folks togther!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I need to know an approximate number of folks in this group ... Adults, kids, etc. etc. Usually bring a "suprise present" for everyone from Alaska. If I run out, and don't have enough, I have to "retrieve" them from adults ... for the kids. SOooo ... Head Count please ... :smooth:

I nominate Suzanne too....."fire um up baby" :rotfl: :rotfl: I confess I had to check out that thread.......WOW.....let it go people.

Its just the 4 of us here....thats very nice of you Dennis.

kim

Kim - You must have been writing a reply when I came in ... Last one I had seen was CujoBugs and "poof" there you were.

You noticed Suzanne's "Nap" discussion? Can she get them going or what? Seems to have died down now ... :confused3 :sunny: :confused3

I will play backgammon with the kids, doesn't bother me ... a VERY long time ago, I taught 2nd Grade for a year... Kids taught me more than I taught them!

Chrystina has not told me if she is planning pirates costumes... :rolleyes1

And here is a coundown update for you... :hourglass

Pretty soon it will be under six months ... this last million seconds appears to be taking a long time.

And I agree - NO hurricanes!!! :umbrella:

Dennis

Hey- lots of chatter happening lately. I think it is great for Suzanne to have the bon voyage party! But what if she doesn't show up because her child is sleeping? :rotfl2: Ha. Just kidding, Suzanne. Looks like the vote is swinging your way! We have 3 adults and 4 kids cruising. Let me know the details. Wow. A gift from Alaska. Sounds much more appealing than me bringing a gift from Kansas. Maybe a piece of dog hair from Toto? Ha. :rotfl:

In response to your Captain Marvin question, we are currently booked through them. I would go ahead and book now as they only take a credit card to hold reservation. Nothing is charged on it. You can cancel in advance for no charge. I am a bit worried that we are leaving too late. We are going on 2 hour excursion leaving at 1:30. Last tender is at 4:30. Hope we don't miss the boat. If we do, will someone please throw me a life boat while I'm swimming towards the ship? :jumping1:

:firefight Hi Guys ... Was just passing thru and noticed that we were going to slip onto the 2nd page. That woud be a bad thing.

Need to be on my way, the temperature is almost 40 degrees here in Alaska, the sun is shining and it is to nice out to be sitting here ...

Will checjk back in a few hours... :flower2:

Good Morning All!

Yes, I have been neglecting you all for a few days. Maybe some flowers and chocolate and I'll be forgiven? :flower3: Okay, just flowers since I can't find any chocolate. Oh wait!! I spoke too soon! :mickeybar

Good to see so many new folks since I last checked in! Welcome!!! :cool1:

The Dad and I may stay at the Radisson the night before the cruise. Not sure. Sooo many possibilities. Dad and I are staying at the Radisson for the first time in May (hopefully for the Space Shuttle Launch) so I'll be sure to tell you what I think when I get back.

I've booked yet another WDW trip! Someone stop me, please. So now I'll be making a quick 3 day trip April 20-22 solo for my b-day, then returning for another solo May 4-6 for the big DL Birthday kick-off, and then I'll be flying right back down May 10-17 for Dad's trip. It's a "replacement trip" since I cancelled the April 30 cruise to rebook on this one. Ahhh. Now don't you all feel special?

Sorry I've been absent lately. "Absent-minded" I can't do anything about, you all are kinda stuck with that. But checking in on you all a little more is definitely something I can improve!

Now I'm off to check out all this business about NAPS!! Oh Suzaa-aanne! :teeth:

 Good Morning everyone...

Looks like it is going to be a "fine" day here in Alaska today. Temps in the 40's and sunshine. Still expecting another snowstorm but signs of spring are everywhere. The Iditarod Winner is in and now everyone is waiting to seewho gets the "red lantern" (last place) award. Ticker sales for the Nenanna Ice Classic have opened. Alaskan answer to a "lottery" where everyone bets on what day & time the "ice goes out" on Nenanna River. And MOST IMPORTANT, salmon are showing up in the rivers and along the coastline!!!

Welcome back AmyMouse, You're supposed to SHARE the choclates!!! Glad to hear that you are having problems with your WDW addicition. There are so many worse things out there.... :duck:

Kcatoir - what do you mean you don't like corned beef & cabbage!! :scratchin - Being an Irishman from Boston ... I LOVE IT... Bring it on...

Will be going back to do a headcount from the thread and the information provided - will report back later. Don't want Suzanne to miss out on how many folks she is "hostinng" :rotfl2: Of course, the thought has occurred to me, what if CujoBugs is right and she is "NAPPING"? :rotfl2: Will have to use that tried & true method of "electing" someone who has neglected to show up for the meetings! :teeth:

Come on back Suzanne!!! We are all so proud of you!!! :worship:

Well, it is about time for the dawn to start appearing on the mountains, so I think I will go out for a morning constitutional :sunny:

Will check back later. Keep chatting :hyper2: :chat: :hyper2:
Keeps us Page#1 :jumping1:

Dennis
