Hi Kim,

Oops got to run, cookies are beeping at me..........set up the next batch. I've got twelve miniutes to type. BLIZZARD BEACH IS THE BEST WATER PARK!!!!!!!! :cool1: Typhon Lagoon is okay, but Blizzard Beach is the best. We love skiing  and it's great to have the skiing theme. We've opted for Disney trips instead of skiing for the past five years......hubby wants to plan another skiing trip soon. I guess we'll just have to have two vacations, one Disney and one skiing.. :teeth:

I see that David the commuter geek... is at it again. Love the web cam :teeth:

Dennis the hurricane...nothing but a puff of wind!!!! Just like the huff puff of a cribbage player by the name of Dennis. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Okay the beaches at Cozmel sound delightful, I might change my mind on my ruins visit. Nah!!!

Oh were is Peggy and family... please come back. Does that mean I still carry the baton? :wizard: If so that's fine with me. :goodvibes I love to entertain and being the hostess with the mostest I'll make sure Dennis brings along the champagne for everyone!!! :rotfl:

Next batch of cookies are calling me along with bill paying.

Have an awesome night everyone. :sunny: :grouphug:

Thanks Julie, thats what I figured.

We are thinking about spending Sat, after we get "Kicked off the Boat" :sad2: , At Blizzard Beach since we don't fly home till Sunday.
Anyone else been to BB before?? If so How did you like it??

I think we should start the "No Hurricane" dance now... :wizard:

Blizzard Beach is a LOT of fun! We were there in the fall of 2003 when the kids were 4 and 7 and they had a blast. DH had fun going down the Summit Plummet (and a big wedgie to boot!) Great, relaxing way to spend the day. For this time of year, it shouldn't be too crowded but I'd say get there kind of early if you want a seat...

Hey everybody,
The cruise time is getting closer!!!!!!!
Julie- loved the response about the pub crawl to Dennis. That was hilarious! I can't believe no one commented on it! That is the price he shall pay!
Dennis- nice description of the lighthouse tour! One cruise critic report I read on the Key West lighthouse notes that when you get to the top, beware of looking a certain direction as it reveals a swimming pool for gay men and clothing is optional! You sure didn't note that in your lighthouse tour report! :rotfl2:
I knew we scared the new baton holder away! This group must learn to be nicer for the first few posts. Then we can scare them with the baton news after they've chatted with us for a few posts. Sort of like catching a fish, right Dennis? We will reel them in nice and slowly. (I'm sure all the lurkers out there are laughing about this!) :rotfl:
Julie- we went to Kahoka, Missouri in northeast Missouri.
Have a great day! Deanna

Hi everyone!!!! Is it time to go yet? Happy Wednesday!!!

I know! Maybe Dennis didn't even see it...or he is ignoring it, hoping it will go away. :teeth:

Well, I just reserved the Grand Cayman Island Tour excursion. I am not really excited about it, but I wanted to do something there with the kids. I think it will be good, it's not too long or pricey. I wish I could talk my daughter into snorkeling with the stingrays. She is afraid they will sting her. Their name is too scary. They should be called cuddle-rays or something like that. She would be all over that excursion.

Julie - NO DEAHR - I did not miss the prescribed penance. :rolleyes1 Just had no comback. :teeth: I was thinking a bottle of White Zinfandel for yourself, Giles, Deanna, & Chrystina  should get me out of the doghouse? :confused3 Of course, Chrystina  is going to be wondering why ... :rotfl2:

Peggy - Please come back ... we can make DIDI the mandatory BVP Baton holder :wizard: We'll just wait til she leaves the room and have a fair and impartial vote about it. After all, she is the "hostess with the mostest" :bounce:

Kim - Everyone is right ~ BLIZZARD BEACH is the way to go. Just check the schedule. Make sure that there are no planned closures for operational maintenance at that time.

DIDI - Let's hope Hurricane Dennis is a huff & puff. Currently, Grand Cayman lays right in its forecasted path during the next two days. :umbrella:

David - That does look like the right webcam for spotting the Disney Ships. We had the link way back around post#300 or so... if you want to research.

Good Night all

Dennis

Good Morning to all!!

Time for my coffee  . It's raining here and will rain for the rest of the week. :umbrella: Doesn't look to good for getting my base tan for the cruise this weekend. I'm okay with it, my lower back is a bit trashed from riding on that boogie board with my DS over the weekend. I'm just gettin old I guess :rotfl: ......

I must go now and drink my coffee in the peace and quiet, before I hear the pitter patter of little feet.

:wave2:
Didi

mccentee..don't you just love that early morning peace when everyone else is still in bed? :cloud9: I'm usually not an early morning person but this morning my body decided it was time to get up at 4 am. It's been defintely "me" time for the last couple hours.

I'm just kiddding about the pub crawl first 3 rounds...kind of ;) . I actually thought your lighthouse joke was pretty funny, it's the kind of thing my husband would say  And of course, I think he is just sooooooo funny. Actually, he used to be a stand-up comic - that's how we met. :love2:

Julie - No problems here ... Having grown up under the Matriachal eye of an Irish-Catholic mother, I am use to "paying penance". :rotfl: Besides, Chrystina  likes White Zin. Your Hubby was a "stand-up"? GREAT! Now we have built in entertainment for the pub crawl!!! Also understand that Kim & Becky have agreed to sing for us. :teeth: Isn't that great?

Perhaps he can brighten DIDI's mood after I trounce her in cribbage... :cool1: Good Morning DIDI :wave2: Be careful on those BOOGIE boards. I can commisserate on the lower back pain this morning but my mine is from furniture moving :confused3 and golf  !!!

Cozumel ~ Have switched excursion from Excaret to Catamaran & Snorkel. That will still give Chrystina  time to shop for some piece of jewelry that she absolutely cannot live without!!! :rolleyes1

Kim - Remember the discussion about Las Vegas in August? Well, locked it down yesterday. Duties include being "on-call" as the 4th for golf!!! Tough job but somebody has to do it. :sad2:

Have a great day everyone!!!

I have a comment regardinng the "Pub Crawl" 1. when did I agree to sing?! I'd have to have loooootttsss of that White Zin (and something stronger) before I'd even consider it... besides, I wouldn't want to steal the spotlight from B&J's Mom's husband, :cool1: ;) :rotfl2:

Becky ~ Hmmm - When did you agree to sing??? Well, remember that time you left the room and went on vacation??? We had a VOTE!!! :rotfl: Congratulations!!!

Okay - All you priceline experts ... how do I fo about getting the best deal on a rental car? Need a car for about a week in Bangor, ME in two weeks. Needless to say, car rental rates stagger me!!! :sad2: Recommendations?

Thanks

Dennis

Hi All,

How cool all that entertainment for the Pub Crawl!! :cool1: Comic relief, sing and dancing.... :goodvibes now I am really looking forward to the cruise. :rotfl:

Giles Family, you must be really excited about the cruise, can't sleep late? :rotfl: I'm so glad you got some "ME" time this morning. I think that is why I get up so early, just to have even 10 mins. is a glorious thing. :cloud9: I'm scheduling some "me" time for the cruise, my massage :cloud9: :teeth:.

I got some helpful hints from Jean, my Disney travel agent. Since this is going to be my first time cruising I could use all the help I can get. Well, she told me to bring a power strip and to plug it in at the desk since they don't have many plugs. With this you can recharge your cell phone, and bring your travelling iron. Yup back to the wrinkle subject, I told her that I also iron all our clothes prior to packing the suitcases. I like things neat. Also another thing is to bring a 24 pocket shoe plastic shoe organizer to hang in the inside or outside of the bathroom door. Just get the Walmart special...this can be used to hang the camera, suntan lotion, film, etc. so that your room does not get cluttered. For those neat freaks out there, this is a great idea. I live with the King of clutter my DH , he drives me insane at times!

Got to go now and do some work.

Didi

I don't think Clint will too happy if I have a comedy "gig" set up for him at the pub crawl! I think the singing by Becky and Kim along with the Traditional Irish Dancing that Dennis has planned will have to be enough.

Happy Thurdsay Everyone, Its almost Friday :cool1:

Thanks for all the Positive feedback on BB, I think we will play it by ear and head that way from Port. Unfortunely they don't have any schedule posted for operating times.

Becky i'm with you.....i don't remember volunteering to sing.....If I'm going to sing I suggest you all liquer up and bring ear plugs :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Giles Family: Dh was just up in your neck of the woods last week, got very little work done due to the rainey weather, came home early, but airports were crazy on thursday. I also cherish "me" time......Dh never understands why I get up every morning at 6:30am even though I don't have to be at work till 9am.......he sleeps till the last possible moment. I love being able to sit in silence drinking my coffee and watching GMA...(NOT a morning person :guilty: )

Have fun in Vegas Dennis, rough life you have. Where are you staying?? Seeing any shows while you are there??? Enjoy waiting for that call from pool side.

Julie, I have been talking to DD's this past week about our Stringray trip. They too are nervous about the "stinging" part. I have assured them they won't get stung, I don't think they are convinced yet. DD9 says she doesn't want to get in the water....I told her she can sit in the boat and watch, but I think she will end up joining us. She is really quite fearless.

Sorry Dennis, my OCD won't allow me to use priceline :earseek: can't help ya there.

Didi: we got that idea about the shoe holders on our last cruise. Picked one up at the Dollar Store, worked good for holding Small stuff, hair brushes etc...bigger stuff had a tendancy to fall out. I have DD's box of silicone ear plugs in it and we forgot them when we went to Castaway Cay, I send Dh back to the boat......needless to say he couldn't find them, so I had to go back to get them!!!! :rotfl:

I don't know about Priceline for rental cars, but I'd start over at www.mousesavers.com. Read all about the National codes that you can combine to get a good rate. In April, we had an intermediate car for 10 days in Orlando and paid $103 total. At least, you can research what a good rate is and then go over to Priceline and bid less. OR, check out www.biddingfortravel.com. I THINK they have a section on rental cars. Good luck!!!

Too bad the little ones won't be at the crawl...Our 6 year old dd takes Irish Step Dance lessons and can do a mean little jig. BUT, after enough White Zin, we could all be getting "jiggy" wit it. :cool1:

Howdy,

Kim, just like a man, the object can be right in front of them and of course they can't find it. :rotfl2: :rotfl: I have a DH  and his young Padawan, DS, both of which have that deadly Y chromosome disease when they can't find things. :rotfl: :rotfl: I usually threaten both DH and DS to wipe out the Y chromosome disease if I have to go find the item that I sent them to go get for me..... pirate:

Julie and Kim, I had a thought.....to reel in the wee ones for the sting ray excursion, tell them they are just like Nemo's teacher, Mr. Ray and he's really friendly. :) I've been feeding that line to my 8yr DS, so far it's worked. :rolleyes1 Just a thought.

I just was informed by my friend, my DS (Patrick) and his buddy have gone on the Cliff Hanger Ride at least 6 times at the fair grounds. Hope my DS doesn't lose his cookies later on.

Time to put in a load of laundry. Have an awesome night everyone. Talk to you all in the morning.

Didi

Ok..for the record the Giles Family has NO talent....nothing. Can’t even whistle a tune. :rolleyes1 Nada. Negative. Entertainment committee..please take note. There..that should take care of any embarrassing moments.

Can’t help much about renting a car. But being Canadians, I think the car rental rates down there are chheeaap! Even with calculating the exchange rate in. You should see what we pay up here in Canuck country!

I’ve heard about the shoe holder, but did’nt think of a power bar! I’ll have to start making a packing list! I picked up a mesh shoe holder the other day and out of curiosity I opened it to see how it hangs. Well, it’s still hanging, and I love it even at home. :lovestruc I had to go out and get another one for DD’s room! At least it’s going to be put to use both pre- and post- cruise.

Kcatoir..your DH must have been in the Calgary area. They did have a LOT of rain and floods. :umbrella: We didn’t get much of the rain up here in Edmonton though….yet….
