Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

So I decided to pull dd's clothes today. After, I went to check what the weather is like right now in SF and 60's is cold to me! LOL I now need to go back and pull some long clothes for dd, maybe even a pair of jeans! We haven't worn jeans in MONTHS! What a difficult trip to pack for, weather speaking!

I learned today that my son's baseball tournament is in Fountain Valley next weekend. The good news is that it is on the way to the port. If his team makes it through Sat and they play Sunday, then I will probably watch him play and just board the ship later. I'm hoping to make it to the meet so if I'm not there, then that means my son's team did well!

Good Luck at the Ball Park......always love watching the kids play! Know what you mean with the jeans, but here in the Pacific NW I did pull some on last week........

Jan and I visited the Wonder in San Pedro only to be alarmed there are PEOPLE ON OUR BOAT!
Ok, I'm laughing so hard now, just what I need early in the morning to get me going.
Oh well, one more week and we will be on her!

In the spirit of better late then never - Hello!! This will be husband's and 8-year old daughter's first Disney Cruise and it's a surprise for the 8yo. She knows the ship is in town (we're local) and is begging us to go. We've told her we have permission to visit the ship next Sunday. Muhaha...

Looks like the FE list is closed but we would love to be part of the cabin crawl. We are in 6098.

We arrived at Disneyland last night, rented a pvt condo for the stay which is a 15 min walk from the front enterance.

Did LegoLand water park on Saturday for the day, it was heaving and capacity reached an hour after noon opening. The kids loved it. Yesterday we did San Diego Zoo Safari Park and it was a bit too hot for the kids, so we didn't get round more than half of it.

We are supposed to be starting our Disneyland adventure today but the kids are more interested in playing with the Disney princess figures and a fairy castle (my kids are boys).

Don't worry, I grew up with some guys that played with Barbie. Come to think of it maybe I shouldn't use them as an example, they played with Barbie for all the wrong reasons.

Linda - welcome! I also have an 8 yo daughter, Anna. Hopefully we can meet up at the meet & greet (3 pm Sunday, Promenade Lounge) and introduce ourselves. I know Anna would love to make a friend!

We will all meet at 1:00 on the first sea day and travel as a mob.
When we get to your room you open it up while everyone walks through then you lock your door and we move on.

That way you get to see all the rooms also.

Marian & company - have an awesome time at DL! Hopefully it has cooled down enough to make it more enjoyable to tour.

to our new memebers. How fun to surprise your daughter. I tried to surprise DH with this trip but couldn't manage to keep my mouth shut. And, considering how crazy it has been here for last several weeks, it would not have worked out so by now anyway.

So I hope that everyone can remain calm with all thier 'to do' lists and if you have to prioritize, then so be it. You need to board on Sunday calm, cool (and kewl) and relaxed, already to have the best cruise ever!

Unfortunately I still have a while before I get to be back on the wonder (to Alaska in June) but have a favor to ask of those going soon...i am looking for a picture of the little girl pirate skirt that they sell on board (with the little gold coins hanging from the hem). the one they sell won't fit my little girl or i would have bought it, we did get the t-shirt that goes with it. i'd like to recreate it tho and realized when i went to do it that i can't remember it as well as i thought i would (silly me not to take my own pic) anyway, if someone wouldn't mind...will you snap a pic and email it to me? thanks!! lara_bookite at yahoo dot com

P.s. I found the coin trim at hobby lobby today, yay! Probably would have waited to buy it but my mom pointed out that it could be seasonal ( for Halloween) so I snatched it up!

Okay Bill you'll love this one. My Mum bought me a limited edition Skipper doll when I was growing up. She had a soft body and if you wound her arm she 'matured'. Well I had that doll about five minutes before my brother traded it for his Ken as it was more interesting (he's three years younger). I'm suprised that arm didn't fall off that doll the first hour my brother had it.

Rich says 'I'm getting better at listening to the WIFE now. Particularly as we've locked her in the car.'.

I dunno if it's cooled down. The kids are too busy driving me mental as they are in overdrive. I let them sleep in a double bed last night and Alex woke Oli up at 6AM. They want to stay up for the fireworks... help me, drowing not waving here.

I'm officially the Packing Ninja! I've packed and unpacked twice now and that's only halfway thru this holiday. By the time I've got home I've done four packs and four unpacks for four people, three of which expect me to do their packing for them. I need at least one more bag with all the suits and shoes we've bought. I got one pair hiking sandals, one pair hiking shoes, two pairs road trainers and one pair trial trainers. You'll notice there are no 'lady' shoes in that lot at all!

You may need another trip to the outlet store - for luggage! I find 'lady' shoes highly overrated (and painful). To think in my youth I wore 3 inch heels and worked on my feet all day and thought nothing of it. Now a kitten heel strikes fear in these old bones.

Too funny about your Skipper doll - I don't ever remember seeing those here. My brother would have broke that arm right off.
