Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

We call the GPS 'Nikki' after an Irish friend of mine as we chose an Irish accent for the voice.

I really shouldn't tell you this but we call our GPS Worldwide Information For Everywhere

That way when I talk to her I can say WIFE, where to? WIFE, how do you want me to get there? WIFE, where do you want me to turn? WIFE, where do you want me to stop? WIFE, your right that was the exit I should have taken.

On car trips this allows Laura to sleep and me to have someone to talk to.

I'm going to pay for telling you about my other WIFE.

:lmao::lmao: This is a family board so I can't repeat what we call ours. He also wants to bring her along for any walking we do. I hope neither of us slip as it comes pretty natural (...and she sort of is).

Mom and I leave in a week! I finally got the shuttle to the port booked. I just need to do label for the FE gifts and pack everything. Getting very excited!

Ugh to dealing with emergencies before travel. I was once at a doctors office on my way to the airport due to a bad reaction to medication. I am a miserable flyer anyway and that trip was a 14 hour nightmare. Then I spent two weeks in Italy unable to eat almost anything! I'm still glad I went though and have more good memories of the trip than bad :) Here's hoping everyone stays healthy and safe for this trip!

I got sick once leaving everything until the last minute (didn't stress out or anything though but I was younger then) but ended up being up packing until 2:00AM and swore I would never do that again.

I'm up til 2:00 packing EVERY TIME I go on vacation. And every time I swear I'll be more prepared the next time. :rolleyes1

It just goes so fast once that one month mark hits. Plus, it does get easier as I have no little ones (well, other than DH :rotfl2:) to keep up with as well. Amazes me that at one point I could do soccer, soccer practices, football and football practices for 3. No WONDER I was up until 2:00AM. But, I had also just planned it that way - I now plan to be sleeping (that is if I am not too excited), age is such a mean thing.

Take care and take it easy. Plan the work and then work the plan as my Cub Scout training always told me - and KISS (keep it simple scouter).

Gail I love your scout references - my oldest Aidan starts boys scout in about a week. He has high functioning autism and I am SO excited for him!

I have not started packing at all. I have been trying to all week but it has not happened. Between DH starting his full time nursing job, ptc duties, working full time, coaching soccer, volunteering at school and just being chauffeur to all the boys activities I haven't had time! Let me also throw in that my toddler seems to be making it his mission to make me lose my mind or want to send him cruising without me! I tell my hubby all the time that if he came first he would have been an only child - after two boys you would think the third would be a piece of cake but no this kid is something else :crazy2:

My goal for tomorrow is to finishing buying the couple last minute things I need : Oldest needs a sweatshirt and a vest, I need a new pair of heels and middle needs a couple pirate items!

:rotfl2: Looks like we will have some fun topics of conversation!!!

How about a little fun?:thumbsup2 Whats your favorite Pixar movie and/or character?

DD is a big fan of Up. She has watched so many times I have lost count, she would just say "Russell" and we knew what she wanted:happytv:

Oh, there are so many good ones that it is hard to choose :goodvibes

I do think Doug from Up is one of our favorites. I was so excited to see him at Disneyland...almost as much as the kids were :rotfl2:

I asked DD what was her favorite and she said Wall-e

erbie.............I will ask the kids if they want to join in and post tomorrow. What a job you have taken on!

Bill too funny about tho "other" WIFE..........I'm almost falling off my chair :rotfl2:

gunka...........nice of you to think of my grands......they are Andrew-6536, Matthew-11 & Meghan-7 - 6538 and Cassidy - 6534.........they will have fun putting something in your holder also..........thanks

I think my favorite is still Woody.......omg I cry everytime we watch the last one......it is so sad watching Andy leave his toys........

I really need to stay out of the fabric store......today I went and what do I find......a piece of felt that looked like Woodys vest......you know I had to get it and add a vest onto Christy's Woody pocket.....then he had to have a star.....:rotfl2: No more going to the craft store for me........stay out of there.....:moped: no I have to go...........:hyper:

I'm right there with you!

At least the kids have finally learned I'm serious enough about not coming home to a messy house that I WILL make them stay up with me to clean if that's not already done.

Anyone not already in our FaceBook cruise group....come on over..

I'm a FB holdout, so I hope the good stuff gets reposted here too. Although I'll probably be entering whirlwind preparation period fairly soon anyway, which means very little time for internet surfing of any kind.

Welcome back! Did you post your room # for the FE list? We need it! :)

The countdown officially begins today!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
TEN DAYS !!!!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

(glindamood - how's the FE list #1 coming?)

I had hoped to get it done last night but didn't even get into the computer room. It won't be any later than Saturday if I have everyone's cabin numbers.

Favorite Pixar - well, I really enjoyed Cars (just love that Sir Tow Mater, my kind of humor) but have not seen Cars2. I was wondering if I should take a few movies to watch on the plane - maybe Cars2 should be it. I have not seen more than I have seen so difficult to say. I also enjoyed Finding Nemo.

Well, got DH's last dress shirt ironed last night so that is all done and ready to be packed next week. My stuff is in good order (if I can stop wearing it that is) so it should be a pretty easy process when the time comes next week.

We fly in NINE days. Yahoooooooooo!

I think Toy Story and Toy Story 3 have to be my favorites. Though I do like all of them. Up! was also wonderful. My favorite character is probably Dory.

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. It's my motto. :lmao:

So hard to chose a fav Pixar film. I think my top three are Wall-e, Up and Toy Story. But then it changes when I rewatch films like Finding Nemo and Cars....

My favorites switch as well. Usually whatever the kiddo is into - then I think, "Ok THAT is the best one. No THAT one. No THAT." Love the writing of Pixar movies (since that's my profession that's what I usually notice most) -- SOLID stories. Tangled, Wall-E, Incredibles, Cars... just GREAT storytelling.
