Sept 23, 2007 Wonder

As much fun as the cruise will be, I'm also looking forward to our dinners at WDW pre- and post- cruise. With DS we're doing Ohana's and Prime Time Fri/Sat before the cruise. I always manage to get in trouble at PT and end up standing in the corner or sweeping floors, which DS just absolutely loves to see.

Once off the ship, we have dinner plans w/ DS and DD for Boma's and a night at California Grill (timed to be there for MK fireworks). Certainly not V&A's but definitely no letdowns after getting off the ship.

Like those buffets, huh? If I remember right, both Ohana's and Boma's are buffets. Does anyone know if you can still walk on the terrace outside at CG? Seems like I heard they closed that off at some point in time.

The mere mention of V&A's sends my tastebuds into a tantalizing dance. I can still taste their Grand Marnier Souffle. I actually looked to see if I could find any of that on the boat, and saw that Triton's has it, which presents a problem. I loved Triton's creme brulee so much that I really don't want to give that up either. And I'm not a dessert type anyway, so I definitely can't eat both in one sitting. Oh, the dilemma I'll have that night....probably the toughest decision I'll make on the cruise.

Ohana's has the meats cooked on skewers and brought to the table, family style. I like it for all of the great protein.

Boma's is DD's new favorite - since she is missing the cruise, she got to pick that restaurant. (Don't feel bad for her though, she's on a 3 week vacation in Australia right now, which cost more than the cruise for all three of us.)

I sure hope the patio is still open for Cali. Grill. I was counting on that for viewing the fireworks prior to our seating.

Just skip dinner and do two desserts at Tritons. :) If you think of one as the main course, you should have plenty of room for all that sugar.

The walkways are still open...If you remember they used to let ANY guests enter the restaurant to view the fireworks. It really put a damper on those of us that were dressed for dinner and enjoying a really nice time. Especially when families were entering wearing bathing suits, lugging bags, strollers and everything else up to a really nice restaurant.

Now, things have changed...You can only get to CG with a reservation. SO the walkways are only for those guests eating at CG. That was one of the best ideas they ever had. You are paying for the view and the food, so now it's all yours.

Also, last week in the Orlando Sentinel there was an article on CG and how it is still one on Orlando's premier restaurants. Not sure what the actual link is but if you search Orlando Sentinel I'm sure you'll find it.

Thanks Joel! I am so glad to hear that the area is still open for guests. It was interesting making the reservation for CG - I actually had to give a credit card # for the reservation.

It is definitely one of the best restaurants around, not just on WDW property. That dinner will be our last night on this WDW/DCL trip, and is the perfect way to end our vacation.

YAHOO - I can book my ressies tomorrow ~ the 75 day mark

We're going to try for Palo on Monday night, and a few spa treatments staggered throughout the cruise. I'm going to feel so official tomorrow!

I don't want to book too many things because its our first cruise, just kinda flow with it.

Does anyone know what the layout is for a Cat 11 that sleeps 4? Our crew has 7 in it, so one cabin has 3 and on has 4 and I'm not sure the layout of the one with 4. Does the pullout couch sleep 2 or is there one bunk that pulls down from the wall. Anyone know? Just over 2 months, not long now!!
:rotfl: :dance3: :cheer2:

The fourth bed will be the pull down from the ceiling. It was DS's favorite place to sleep when we cruised last year.

Thanks for the info. My DD that is 12 will probably love it too. We were just trying to figure out where everyone will sleep. My DH and I will wake early I'm sure, but the girls will sleep in a little and I had to figure out if we would be crawling over them or not.

The nice thing is the queen bed is nearest to the bathroooms, and there is a curtain you can use to provide some privacy between your bed and the sofabed/loft bed. It works well if you are the early risers - you can get to the shower while the kids sleep.

Good Morning All,

Just catching up on some work here in the office and thought I'd say HEY!!!:surfweb:

We are up to 17 cruisers as of yesterday...The party gets bigger...

So how is everyone making out with plans, reservations, excursions, etc??? The weather here in Florida has been HOT HOT HOT!!! But that's what we like.

Have a great weekend.

You're gonna be that obnoxious crowd that gets on everybody's nerves, aren't you?

"That group at dinner was so loud that we couldn't even hear ourselves talking."

Yep...that's gonna be Joel.

Would anyone be interested in getting our own meeting of the grass skirt fraternity going? Here's a picture from another group before:

I'm not sure about this. Don't know if we'd have enough for it, but wanted to check. Also don't know if we'd look stupid. Well, I know. I just haven't decided if I'd care too much or not.

The count's at 68.

Hmmm.... I'll have to think about the whole grass skirt thing.

Personally, I'd rather pack the tuxedo and sit at the bar drinking martini's. :drinking1That said, if there's enough interest (i.e. at leat two other participants), count me in.

My oldest son (the 22 year old) says count him in,why not?! I'm not sure about the others in the party, but I'll check. The time keeps ticking away. 8 weeks from Sunday.

I'll think about the grass skirt idea...seems like fun...

Do we need a coconut bra as well?:rotfl2:

8 weeks from Sunday, thank God!!! After the week I had a work it can't get here fast enough.

My DH says count him in. He says the picture looks something like him and our friend. But he's willing to give it a try.
:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Scott announced on another meet thread that our cruise has changed dates. Instead of leaving on Sept 23, our cruise has been moved up to Aug 23rd. 31 less days of waiting!

Everyone change your plans accordingly...

Don't confuse anyone....I wouldn't trade the 4 night for the 3 night...We are still leaving on the 23rd of September...My wife would die, she already has the invitations for the 25th of September...

Anyway, is anyone else addicted to the Castaway Club CD? I love "Hammock in the breeze", it really take me back to Castaway.

How many more days?

Not coutning today and stopping on the 22nd....64 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Mozart,

I know how much you want to make your Palo reservations again.
You can't blame me for wanting to go a month earlier.

I need a beer
