Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

:rotfl: Oh, switching adr days, yup, I know how that goes. I find it nearly impossible to know where I'll want to eat in which park on which day and at what time even in the morning of each day...which means we must make triplicate reservations to be covered. We always cancel the unused ones ~ then anyone calling that day or a walk will have a nice surprise ~ but I know some guests would think me absolutely awful. :sad1: I can't help it....I think the QSDDP might work for people like me. ::yes::

I already called and switched up the days with no problem (except they said we would be at two separate tables which is fine since we may only need one, and if everyone comes, we can have and adult table and a kid table)....had a much more competent CM than the first time...
I hate second guessing myself :surfweb:

M&N, you and I are twins. I have not been to Savannah yet either and have been to St. Augustine several times and greatly enjoyed it. Yep, the QSDP is just right for most folks I think. No ressies, no worry and no eating when you are not hungry. Just wish there were more varied choices. It is getting less and less certain that I will get to go in December let alone another solo trip but one can dream. Trouble is bad things would probably have to happen and I do not wish so. The vast majority of the time. :sad1:

Diva K, it is hard being in charge of other folks happiness and more so when you care, as you do. Please do not stress yourself out. If someone complains let them make their own arrangements. No sense in ruining YOUR fun.

Pouting hubby in kitchen. His truck (over 20 years old) has been given to his brother. He can no longer drive and has not for a few years now. I am plain scared to drive it myself anymore, last time that I did it broke down and Tom freaked and kept running out into the highway. I could have sold it for a bit as it is low mileage and the body is in good shape, more than I can say for myself. :rotfl: I understand his pain but I done the best I could. He can still see the truck when he visits and even ride it occasionally. I tried, I think I did the best I could.

I've been reading, but not posting. It's tough having to compete with dh, dd and ds for the computer--I think getting up at 4:00 am (like I did this morning) is the key!

Basically got everything I wanted :cool1:
CM's computer froze twice :headache:
Got them for 11 (6 adults, 5 kids) :dance3:
took lunches instead of dinners in some cases (thought the dinner times were too late) :hourglass
How did you do thunderbird?!?!?

Just got off the phone with Disney dining. One hour, CM's computer only froze once (on the last ADR, of course--so we lost everything and had to start over), and I basically got everything, too. Had to switch days for Le Cellier (not surprisingly, they were already booked up for dinner during the first couple of days of free DDP), but everything else went perfectly. I'm just glad I didn't have to make reservations for 11, lol! BTW, if I were in your shoes, and Becky's family cancelled, I would just show up with 7 and tell them some of your party dropped out. Better that than lose the reservation entirely--we Divas of Dining work too hard for that!

Kris--Loved the somali pirate video! I really should start TiVo-ing SNL just for the occasional hilarious sketch. But with my luck, I would have been watching it with dd and the "Motherlover" video would have come on! :scared:  I'm so sorry to hear about Mary's brother--how awful! Please do pass along our condolences.

Timmy--I'm sorry, I can't talk to you anymore because you're in the pin club and I'm not. ;) I'll just have to go hang out with Ang in no man's land. Thanks for the tip about the train--it looks like it will be in my neck of the woods around 4th of July weekend, so we'll definitely try to go!

Ang--End of school--yippee! We have 5 weeks left minus 2 days for Memorial Day weekend (not that I'm counting or anything). My cousin is teaching cyber high school now and loves it--hopefully Will can get a teacher like her. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother passing last year. My brother is that age, and I can't even imagine it.

M&N--Glad to hear your Mother's Day trip was nice, despite the nasty hotel, having to deal with Jackie's sutures and Sophia's tumble. We had the QSDDP last month and I LOVED it. I think I might even prefer it to the regular DDP, mainly because of the 2 snacks. Yes, I'm a Disney snackaholic!

JM--Dh so wants to see Trek, but not sure if we should take ds (5). Add us to the list of those who hope to work at WDW when we "retire." I think my dh should be a boat captain, and I don't care if I have to pick up trash or clean toilets, as long as it's at WDW!

Linda--Even gladder to hear that your ticker is at least improved if not fixed. Sorry to hear there may not be a Disney trip this year, but I know there are more in your future. It sounds like you had an entire Mother's Week instead of just a Mother's Day! Good job giving away the truck. I know it must have been hard for Tom, but better it go to someone who can use it than sit around gathering rust.

Cheryl--Happy belated anniversary! Did you get that upgrade?

Lisa--Congrats on the 15 pounds! At last count, I'm down 18 since the beginning of the year. My dream is 10 more, but more realistically I'm hoping for 5, and my short term goal is to keep it off until WDW in August.

Poohbear--You're awfully quiet--must be out enjoying having the feeling back in both your legs!

Well, it's almost time to wake up the glee club, so I'd best get going. But I'll be back at the same time on Wednesday (gotta make another Le Cellier ADR at 4:00 am!), if not sooner. Take care everyone!

I'm usually the one making ADR's for a group, so understand how you feel. But as SG said, you are thoughtful and caring, so I am sure everyone will be happy! :goodvibes

Separated at birth perhaps? ::yes:: I am so sorry the December trip is looking less certain, but I know you will not raise that white flag unless absolutely necessary.
Poor Tom, but you made the right decision for you both. Not easy being the only grown-up in the house.

ME TOO!!!! :yay:

Good Monday everyone... Finally survived another busy weekend.

Good Monday to you too! Yippee! Are you packed yet? Or do you just unpack, do laundry and repack???? :rotfl:

Hope I didn't miss anyone...if I did.. Melissa, hoping you have news of an upgrade! ::yes::

Have a perfect Monday, my friends.:thumbsup2

I am back. did not get an upgrade. Long story short is room types are not guarnteed.
Resort was at 100% capacity. was able to get a refund and some extra magic for getting me upset. Dinner at citricos was great, I had a vegan meal.

So DVC to the rescue, we decided to stay an extra day. Checked in - room was ready - towels in room (oops) - Housekeeping manager called - got us new room and then got keys! -(excellent) -took a few minutes to unwind- then headed out.

Overall we had a good time.

Oh, I'm sorry you didn't get an upgrade...but may I ask what happened that got you upset? How awful!

How nice you were able to add on an extra day! Glad it turned out well and you had a nice time. :thumbsup2

well basically we had spent our honeymoon at CBR (12 years ago) so thats why I wanted to stay there. I wanted a pirate themed room ( Todd loves pirates) My travel agent and I went round and round trying to find a pirate room at the price I was seeing. I got one or so I think. I check in - they say preffered room - I didn't know at the time but there are no pirate rooms in preferred section. When room was ready we go check it out. No pirate. They explain things to me - I say I only booked to get a pirate room (I did not want preferred) Unfortunately hotel is at 100% capacity - I ask to move to a standard section and a refund. I ask for manager, They give me a hard time (finally I say that look I spend money and I'm in the dvc and an AP holder and resident) Manager says she will give credit and walks away. I tell Todd that I was upset and should have booked Pop or something and walked away to cry.
(note my agent called disney travel - they had no clue - I told her that next time to say that this stuff isn't guaranteed)
So things get settled we get new room and credit and someone else gets an upgrade.
We change for dinner. Had an excellent dinner at citrico's go back to room. Todd looks around and then calls the virtual front desk. (Apparently manager was supposed to send something to the room) Nothing here - next morning we have no folio so Todd goes to desk to check out, speaks with Another manager they say they will call back.
(Later on we get call - they made up for issue) Both of us did not sleep well, so I had him call Kennel to take dog for extra day and we then called dvc and got a VWL studio.

Oh, Cheryl, that's terrible!! I must say, we've stayed at CBR at least 5/6 over the years (back in the days when we only stayed deluxe and needed a change..wish I could have those days back)....anyway...we found the CM's and managers at CBR to be the worst of any resort. I mean downright rude. Every visit!

I am so sorry you had to go through this ...and you were there for a special occasion. Well, if it's any consolation, the only Pirate room upgrade would have been a lake view - which certainly would have been pretty, but not much of an upgrade. Did you at least have a nice room location after all you went through?

When they refurbished and made the Pirate rooms, many think (and I agree) it was a way to get guests to not only stay in the furthest village from OPR, but also charge more for the pleasure.;)

I hope the rest of your weekend was wonderful!

Hi everyone! We made it back. Rained the whole way from Columbia, SC to Tampa yesterday. But it did stop just as we drove into Epcot, got Dh's b-day gift card, rode M:S, and then spent the card. On the way out it started up again. Perfect.

Today is another rainy day around here, but I don't mind. Yard finally looks better.

Cherl, sorry to hear about your weekend. Glad you still had fun though. We are staying at CBR in September, now I am a little worried.

Diva K and Thunderbird, glad you got your ADR's. Diva K, I know how you feel, but I was only responsible for 8 people. It is almost time for me to make the ADR's for our Sept trip. Need to get with DH and see what he wants, if we don't cancel. Still trying to figure out how to afford that trip, but with MNSSHP going on, I want to go.

Well, guess I should get back to laundry. Hope everyone has a great day, sunny if you want and rainy if that is what you need in your area!

Welcome back, Melissa!!

Hey, where were you in NC? I'm in Greensboro. :) It is cold here today..even out the heat on for a few minutes to take off the chill, but its still chilly.

No fun driving all that way in the rain, but timing was perfect for your EPCOT visit.

I can never decide if I would want to be so close to the parks that I could stop by often...would it ruin the magic and what about the resort stays? I'd surely miss that! Of course, these days I only go for 3/4 ngts anyway, so being closer would mean less travel expense (or none)!

DD and Dsil are still hoping for something to open in the AmEx office in Tampa (heard on the news today that AmEx is laying off 4000!! Hope DD is not one of those).

Is a FL Resident AP much more affordable than regular AP's and are hoppers reasonably discounted or not much for FL Residents? Thanks! :flower3:

Have fun doing laundry - I LOVE doing laundry. :)

M&N, we were mainly in Huntersville, NC, just north of Charlotte. It is where DH grew up. Not the same town he left behind, not even the same town I saw 5 years ago. So much development.

The wedding was in Belmont. A beautiful town. Saw several houses for sale that we wanted, including the one that is $2.5 million. We have to have dreams right?

We have the Premium Annual Pass that gives us access to the water parks and Disneyquest. The renewal rate is $462.23. Luckily DH's renews in June, while the others renew in August. Not sure how that happened, but makes it a little easier to renew. Thinking about going to something cheaper this year.

Oh, and I forgot to post our great news. We have been planning on my Dstepdaughter to join us in July at WDW. She finally got the ok from her mother to fly down here, so now we don't have to worry about driving to get her. Now just working on how long she will stay with us. She hasn't been to our house since she was 3!!!! Great girl, she is 16 and a lot of fun.

I'm one step down from premium my pass is around $330 (I don't get water parks or disney quest but usually dont use that)

I HATE RUDE PEOPLE WHO COME ON HERE AND ACT LIKE THEY ARE GOD'S GIFT TO DIS

1) YOU ONLY HAVE 10 OR LESS POST .... READ THE FREAKING RULES

2) THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU POST

3) LEAVE ME ALONE ALL I WANNA DO IS ENJOY MY DIS AND EVERYTHING DISNEY

4) IF I PUT IT POLITELY AND DON'T CALL YOU OUT DON'T TRY TO CALL ME OUT IT WONT BE PRETTY I DON'T LIKE HAVING TO BE MEAN OR RUDE OR EVEN ANY KIND OF DRAMA SO LEAVE IT BE AND GO ON ABOUT YOUR OWN BUSINESS

All done thank you!

Love you all!
Lisa

(Ps this is to no one on this thread thanks for listening)

Gee, I could have sworn I replied to this, but no post.:confused3 I remember writing it..I know I'm not so old that I imagined it!! :rotfl:

We are about 40 mins or so from Belmont - we've gone down to the Abby a couple of times. It's beautiful...I could definitely stand living there. ::yes::

What fabulous news about your Dstepdaughter! You all must be so excited!

My gosh, the FL Res Prem AP is almost the same as a non resident AP!!

I'm one step down from premium my pass is around $330 (I don't get water parks or disney quest but usually dont use that)

Whew! Thank you for posting that, Cheryl. Still a lot of money, but possibly more doable. :thumbsup2

With a FL resident AP, can you go into the park 365 days a yr or is there black out dates?

Can y'all tell I'm day dreaming of a move further south? :upsidedow

Lisa ~ Oh my!! Hope everything is okay!!!

Good night, Poppers!

Off to get ready for AI - trying to keep myself awake. Last night could not fall asleep until 3:30 a.m., then up for the day at 6:30!! Sooo tired!!

Have a good evening and rest well. See ya manana!

Jeb(TB) even though I now "belong" You still are my comrade and that will never change.. what happened at TOt will never be forgotten ;)

So there's no "what happens at Disney stays at Disney" rule? I dunno--I saw a few people at F&WF 2 years ago that probably wish there was!

Cheryl--Sorry for the headaches, but glad it worked out in the end. Especially that extra day--gotta love those bonus days!

M&N--Fingers crossed for you for Tampa. Housing prices there are supposed to be ridiculously low right now. Hope you got to sleep before 3:30 this morning!

JM--sounds like you've really been having more than your share of rain--a few folks even posted that they rescheduled WDW trips to avoid it. At least you got dh's gift card. SC sounds like fun, especially those "dream houses." I'm currently fixated on winning the HGTV green home in Port St. Lucie, FL. Dh and I already call it "our house." Then we could be neighbors! Don't worry about CBR--we stayed there a few years ago and it was beautifully landscaped. The new pirate themed pool sounds great, too! My only issue with it was I could never find our room. I'm not kidding when I tell you I got lost between the laundry room and our room. . . twice. . . in one hour. I'm so pathetic.

Lisa--Oh my. :scared1: You just reminded me why I stay out of threads that I think even might get heated. Hope today is better.

Kris--Love the AI flair! I like both Kris and Adam, so either way it turns out I'm happy. I'm just sorry that one of them is going to have to record that song Kara wrote. Gotta agree with Simon--"mountains and hurricanes," indeed.

Made another couple of ADR's for August this morning. Had a longer wait (nearly an hour), but got what I wanted so I'm a happy camper! :yay:

Maybe I'll try to call tonight while I am sitting @DS's baseball practice to tweek some of our times....
meeting Diva Mary today for the first time since she's been back from DB funeral...will show her our ADRs and get her input! :goodvibes

This is all we'll see of the judges after tonight. Love it, Kris!

That happened to me at POR on the mansions side...and I have a naturally great sense of direction, so it was really pathetic. We went back to the front desk and had our room changed. Will never stay at POR again - way too confusing!

On the other hand, when we stay at CBR I play it smart and pay for a preferred location, request Martinique 25,corner room, lake view and we're 2 mins from OPR. :thumbsup2

We first stayed at CBR in 1988 (4 times in a row b/c we wanted a change from Poly & CR) ~ no preferred back then, but we've always been in Martinique, corner room with a lake view. Guess we've been very lucky! Last stay was 2005 and again, Martinique 26, corner room, lake view.

Kris--Love the AI flair! I like both Kris and Adam, so either way it turns out I'm happy. I'm just sorry that one of them is going to have to record that song Kara wrote. Gotta agree with Simon--"mountains and hurricanes," indeed.

Isn't it awful!! My BFF and I thought they wrote it more with Adam in mind..which 'ain't' too fair in most parts. :confused3

I voted for Kris last night - love an underdog. Could only get through once, then the circuits were busy, but fell asleep, so he got one vote from moi. :) I honestly do think he is wonderfully talented.

I see Adam being fabulous on Broadway, or the London Stage...or Vegas.:thumbsup2 Like you said, either of them will have a great career ahead.

Have a great Hump Day, everyone!! (Who came up with such an awful saying anyway?)
