Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

I've been reading, but not posting. It's tough having to compete with dh, dd and ds for the computer--I think getting up at 4:00 am (like I did this morning) is the key!

Just got off the phone with Disney dining. One hour, CM's computer only froze once (on the last ADR, of course--so we lost everything and had to start over), and I basically got everything, too. Had to switch days for Le Cellier (not surprisingly, they were already booked up for dinner during the first couple of days of free DDP), but everything else went perfectly. I'm just glad I didn't have to make reservations for 11, lol! BTW, if I were in your shoes, and Becky's family cancelled, I would just show up with 7 and tell them some of your party dropped out. Better that than lose the reservation entirely--we Divas of Dining work too hard for that!

Kris--Loved the somali pirate video! I really should start TiVo-ing SNL just for the occasional hilarious sketch. But with my luck, I would have been watching it with dd and the "Motherlover" video would have come on! :scared:  I'm so sorry to hear about Mary's brother--how awful! Please do pass along our condolences.

Timmy--I'm sorry, I can't talk to you anymore because you're in the pin club and I'm not. ;) I'll just have to go hang out with Ang in no man's land. Thanks for the tip about the train--it looks like it will be in my neck of the woods around 4th of July weekend, so we'll definitely try to go!

Ang--End of school--yippee! We have 5 weeks left minus 2 days for Memorial Day weekend (not that I'm counting or anything). My cousin is teaching cyber high school now and loves it--hopefully Will can get a teacher like her. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother passing last year. My brother is that age, and I can't even imagine it.

M&N--Glad to hear your Mother's Day trip was nice, despite the nasty hotel, having to deal with Jackie's sutures and Sophia's tumble. We had the QSDDP last month and I LOVED it. I think I might even prefer it to the regular DDP, mainly because of the 2 snacks. Yes, I'm a Disney snackaholic!

JM--Dh so wants to see Trek, but not sure if we should take ds (5). Add us to the list of those who hope to work at WDW when we "retire." I think my dh should be a boat captain, and I don't care if I have to pick up trash or clean toilets, as long as it's at WDW!

Linda--Even gladder to hear that your ticker is at least improved if not fixed. Sorry to hear there may not be a Disney trip this year, but I know there are more in your future. It sounds like you had an entire Mother's Week instead of just a Mother's Day! Good job giving away the truck. I know it must have been hard for Tom, but better it go to someone who can use it than sit around gathering rust.

Cheryl--Happy belated anniversary! Did you get that upgrade?

Lisa--Congrats on the 15 pounds! At last count, I'm down 18 since the beginning of the year. My dream is 10 more, but more realistically I'm hoping for 5, and my short term goal is to keep it off until WDW in August.

Poohbear--You're awfully quiet--must be out enjoying having the feeling back in both your legs!

Well, it's almost time to wake up the glee club, so I'd best get going. But I'll be back at the same time on Wednesday (gotta make another Le Cellier ADR at 4:00 am!), if not sooner. Take care everyone!

Thanks but just lurking. Still having issues with the foot but doing much better and the doc is looking at the problem with the feet now and as soon as they are done I will be 100%. Thanks so much for noticing that I am not here, it means alot.

So there's no "what happens at Disney stays at Disney" rule? I dunno--I saw a few people at F&WF 2 years ago that probably wish there was!

Made another couple of ADR's for August this morning. Had a longer wait (nearly an hour), but got what I wanted so I'm a happy camper! :yay:

Never!!! Unless you get me to stop blogging while trekking at the World.. you know whatever happens that very moment get straight to the blog straight to the net :p

sad though that the reunion for TOT might not happen this year... either that or I have to coerce new lungs to scream with me  The last 2 meets was awesome!!! Still brings great smile everytime I see our pictures... you never know if I win the Powerball tonight there will be grand reunion expense paid woohooo

ADRs?? what is that ?? I have not done ADR for awhile... hmmm this would be the 3rd year that I have just tagged along with everybody's ADR :cloud9: Thats what DIS friends are for... :ssst:

Ok gotta go watch dancing with the stars... did not see what happend last night since it got hectic at work...

Thanks, timmy! I was all excited and went to enter when I saw it is contest for a CRUISE!! :scared1: No,no,no....no cruise for me..never. Ever.

So, since I would have, of course, won ;) that means a better chance for everyone else!!! :thumbsup2

Hi, Pooh! So good to see you here again. Glad the foot is still on the mend and hope you'll be 100% very soon. Take gentle care.

What is left of my mind is bent, how can I keep up with all of you? Not possible. Just have to know that I love you and forgive me, please?:worship:

M&N, maybe we are not twins, as I have NO sense of direction, but if you move to the Tampa area we could well be neighbors one day as that is my plan possibly. Cruises bore me, why are you adverse?

Timmie, you are just plain unforgettable and are sure to be the stuff that Disney legends are made of. I have several DIS friends who are over the top and I love each and every one of them even though. I myself, am a quiet and shy person. :rotfl:

Nancy, going to be 100%!!! That is awesome. Not hurting is something we take for granted until we do. Take care.

Poor TB, a ONE computer family?? I have two and I am the only one who knows how to use them. I am lusting after the new Dell (in red) that has the cpu, speakers, drives etc in the monitor. Maybe if I am very good Santa will bring me one? :woohoo: BTW, if you have the regular DP you can get 3 snacks by turning your TS into a CS and snacks. I would rather eat a bit here and there than a whole bunch at once too. :yay:

Lisa, I have found that the way to deal with the difficult is to ignore them. Drives me nuts. There are those who love to stir up trouble. I believe that it is possible to disagree without being disagreeable. For the most part, a vast majority, this is a great place to be. Do not let one gnat 'bug' you. Congrats on the weight loss. I am struggling and am only down about 7 pounds since the first of the year. It is very difficult for me. I blame it on the meds. Works for me. :dance3:

Diva K., who are you rooting for on AI? I have only seen bits and pieces but both of them seem awfully good to me. The one is more theatrical and entertaining though. I think several of the people will go on to do well and not winning actually can be better because the winner is obligated to do all sort of things.

I am worn out. Spent late into the night doing research on my dgs's project so it would be ready for him to pick up this morning on his way to school and write his paper. The packet is still laying on the backporch. I love that kid, I love that kid. :scared1:

I am about to go over for my last session with my kids until school starts in the fall. Tomorrow is their graduation program and I will show up. I was there last week, a week early. :rotfl:

Lisa--Oh my. :scared1: You just reminded me why I stay out of threads that I think even might get heated. Hope today is better.

Sad thing is this thread is just a place to exchange address to have your children sent a postcard from someone going to Disney before or after you its is a great program. Here's the link http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=842646

I do that sometimes to but this lady really made me so mad mostly because it was something that was done and over but she just wanted to be a b^%&H just ot be on (excuse the language all)

Thanks on the congrats 7 is better than 0!

Still love my DISPals:love: all of you are so great:grouphug:

Lisa, I meant to say that it drives them crazy when you ignore them. Some folks cannot take a hint and that is the only way to deal with them. Everyone has something but some folks just dwell on the negative all the time and nit pick others, sometimes just to stir up a thread and see how much attention they can draw.

I feel that the best Disney information is found right here at the DIS and for free so I do not deal with tourguides and such. Has been a few years since I read any but I was unimpressed then. I actually met someone who told me that they had written one but I have my doubts as she did not know a thing about the Free Dining plan. :rotfl:

I once answered a few posts for someone to send letters and postcards to small children and had someone PM me and ask for letters AND several other pricey things. :scared1: I was torn between indignation and thinking it was terribly funny, in an odd sort of way.

BTW, I got attacked today. The kids found out that was my last day for the season and made me feel like Gulliver for a bit. :rotfl2:

My friend is here sanding down the bathroom door so that it will close better. Lots of dust flying. Sure glad I did not dust today.

Why no cruise???? Bad experience? LOVE cruises...have only been on two (Carnival & Princess) and not Disney yet...someday :boat:

Adam is definatley more entertaining...he will have a career no matter what happens....I think Kris needs it more...:rockband:
Anyone ever used this I started using TourGuideMIKE yesterday and am already in love!
Only used him once, Christmas trip 2007, because I was so worried about how crowded it would be :santa:

Well, maybe not identical twins. ;) Hey, someone needs to be the navigator!

Would love to be neighbors. ::yes::

Why no cruise???? Bad experience? LOVE cruises...have only been on two (Carnival & Princess) and not Disney yet...someday

First, I'm a wimp ~ terrified of heights and deep water ~and don't think I'd like being couped up on a ship for any length of time. Then this ole MS can do a job on me when it comes to motion sickness. Very bad. :guilty:

Anyone ever used this I started using TourGuideMIKE yesterday and am already in love!

While I'm not a fan of paying for Disney info and have been so many times am usually the one folks (non DIs experts) ask tips, I have friends who absolutely love TourGuideMike. Enjoy!!! :thumbsup2

I haven't wanted to go on a cruise. I worry about not having any control at all, but I also worried about not having a car at WDW the first time and then actually enjoyed not worrying about driving anywhere.

Kris is my man on AI!

SG, that is great that you have lost 7lbs. With the rain, my walking is just a memory. Must do the Yoga, must do yoga!!!

Poohbear, glad your foot is better and that you are still around.

Well, the DH has supper ready. He made pizza. Have a good night everyone!

M&N, if we are ever neighbors we shall have to live where they have a shuttle bus to our favorite place! I am afraid of heights but am not scared on a ship at all. They greatly bore me though as I am just not a cruise person. One one cruise I could not get the names of our table mates straight and about the third day out I discovered it was because they were 'swingers' and kept swapping around. The last night they passed around a notebook for addresses and phone numbers. Wonder if we missed their calls as I signed ourselves as Mickey and Minnie. :rotfl: It was sad and amusing at the same time. My favorite cruise was the one with my refunding friends. Pre Internet it was the way I socialized as well as paid our food bills etc. I was a Coupon Queen!

JM, 7 pounds is not a lot when you weigh what I do. I have worked on it for four whole years and am nowhere near skinny yet. A far piece from where I was though. Must eat yogurt, must eat yogurt. :lmao: You can do yoga. I would just end up in knots. Did your husband MAKE the pizza or just call for it? If he made it did he make the crust? I am in awe either way. :worship:

Diva K, you and I felt the same way about AI and it seems that many others did as well. Winning the top place does not mean too much, look at the past winners. Lots of talent out there.

Had a lovely time at the graduation program tonight. I hugged, fastened jeans, and gave them incentive to sing louder, so I could hear. They were so darned cute. I brought extra batteries but ran out of memory. It is the story of my life. :sad2:

SG

SG, so sorry you ran out of memory on your camera, but glad you enjoyed the graduation.

I keep trying to do Yoga, I have a program that I DVR'd and try to do it. Just a few minutes yesterday and a few more today and my arms and ribs are so sore. So obviously it is using muscles I don't normally use. I don't end up in knots, but I keep falling over.:lmao:

We use the Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough. It's not too bad. It is the one thing DH will cook.

We were going to go to DHS tonight for SWW. I want to get all of the weekend pins, but DH said he would like to go with us if we wait until tomorrow. So, tomorrow it us.

Hope everyone has a nice relaxing Memorial Day weekend.

JM, running out of memory is no new thing for me and it is not like it was pictures of my actual grandchildren. There were a plentitude of other cameras there. The kids had just asked me to take pictures of them and I hate to break a promise. I had a much better view without the viewfinder in my way. :goodvibes

Hey Nancy, Happy Memorial Day to you as well. We have a little car race going on this weekend. :rotfl2: I plan to clean the kitchen as Tom will be elsewhere trying to hear the race. Watching them go round and round in circles, with a glimmer of hope that there are crashes, is not my thing. Listening to it is even less so. Have company coming in the end of next week and have much to do to get ready, not the least of which is trying to get many layers of grime off dh's bathroom. Think I can get away with telling them that the tub is supposed to be black?:rotfl:

Ang, you only have a few days until you leave. I am jealous that Will will be walking some other favored person to their room. I will try to adjust my thoughts though and just be pleased as punch that the both of you will be there and I am so very glad of that.

So I know I haven't posted to this thread in months, but I've been busier than you can imagine!! My BFF & I have kicked it into gear, planning our annual Storming the World trip 99 days from NOW!!! We arrive August 30th. We do have one exciting thing that's happening today though. No, I'm talking about the pool opening this weekend, although that is pretty cool.
We're getting a new puppy! Some of you know that we euthanized our 13 year old black Labrador back in mid-March. Well, DD's heart is still broken. Evie cried at bedtime again last night, missing Maggie. She asked me to promise her when our 13+ year old Chloe the Wonder Mutt passed away that she could get a new dog. I started thinking about how hard the transition would be when Chloe did pass away if we didn't have another dog around.
So, I started searching at petfinder.com. I found a dog that I thought was a good fit that very night. I filled out an application for adoption the next morning. They asked a whole lot of questions about our house, yard, where she'd sleep, where she'd stay during the day, if they're allowed on furniture, etc. We wanted them to stop accepting applications for her, so I already paid the $150 adoption fee. This covers her shots, having her spayed & an obedience class. We have to bring our whole family, Chloe included to the PetSmart this morning to meet Summer. The organization is having an adoption event there. Once they determine that we're compatible with her. Sort of an audition, I guess.

We know what Labs are like, but I had to look up Australian Shepherds.

Australian Shepherds are intelligent, delightful, and loyal. They are highly energetic and thrive on being given something to do. The Aussie has a high degree of intensity and a "no-quit" attitude. Their herding instinct may be problematic or annoying to their family, as this breed will often attempt to perform this task on everyone or anything that moves. They are reserved and cautious with strangers until the Aussie decides about them. They are confident and protective. Human companionship is crucial to this breed. They get along well with active, considerate older children. The Aussie is not typically aggressive to other dogs.

The Australian Shepherd requires minimal grooming. An occasional brushing with a firm bristle brush will suffice. It is important to do more in depth grooming when they are going through their seasonal shedding. Bathing should only be done when absolutely necessary.

Ms. Linda sounds as if you are going to have a wonderful time cleaning :worship: well at least Tom will be out of your way for a while. I myself love Nascar but hardly watched any races this year myself. come to think about it maybe you should ask Tom to give me some up dates:rotfl2:
Hope all goes well with your company next week. Miss ya bunches!!

Rie I hope everything goes well today and your pick works out well for Evie and give Evie a huge hug from me and tell her next time we all meet up at Disney we wll have to do something speical!

Miss all of you so much! I hope all is well with everyone. If I missed anyone (which I probably did) I am so sorry. I am so busy at work working around 48 to 50 hours right now. Trying to get our company back on its feet. Hugs and kisses to all!
M&N HI:hug:

DIVA'S HI Miss Ya!!!:grouphug:
T-bird Miss ya too
Bonzi! Love ya and hope the kids are well!
FF HI!!!

Hi everyone!!!

Lisa,
Trolls are all over the boards stirring up trouble. Like Linda said they hate when they are ignored. Some people just get a thrill out of upsetting others which is really disturbing but it is best you don't feed their thrill seeking.

As for TGM, I had a subscription a few years ago and really learned nothing that you can't find out here or through UG. The best part of his site is what parks will be least busy and what order to do the rides. This is not hard to figure out yourself without his advice. He is also way behind on updating the information he has which is frustrating.

If you have questions ask them there are lots of knowledgeable people who would love answering questions.

Linda,
Believe me Will won't be finding any other people to walk to their room because unless it's you that would be creepy. lol I am sure he will be looking for you while we are there. Knowing him he will find people who look like you and point them out. We leave Tuesday evening and I am hoping to be there no later than Thursday.

Next year Will gets his driving permit and I am wishing it was now because long stretches of highway and a GPS to follow would be good training for him. I think next year we will drive West and hit all the fun places ending with Disneyland. That will be good practice for him too.

Are you sure you don't want to hang out by the highway as we pass. I am sure Will would give up the front seat to you. lol

Rie,
It is so good to hear from you again. It sounds like things may be looking better for you now and that is good to hear. A new puppy is always so much fun (well minus the potty training stuff). DS still talks about our dog that passed away several years ago even though he has his own dog now.

Just looked at Summers picture and she is adorable. It looks like she will be a really big dog too. You enjoy.

How did DH do with the job situation? I hope all is well on the job front for both of you.

Take care.

Angela

Rie, that is great news about the new family member. She is a cutie. If we didn't already have two other dogs we would be doing the same thing. Did Chloe handle the other dogs passing ok? We were worried about our dog Constanze (12) missing Mozart, but she seems ok. I cried all the way home on Tuesday after picking up his ashes.

Also, we are going to be at WDW at CBR Sept 4-7 so maybe we can meet up.

Ang, give me a call if you get a chance or just text me when you get in. If I remember right you weren't planning on hitting the parks yet, but maybe we could meet up at DTD or your resort next weekend, maybe some miniature golf. DH will want me out of the house because he has a convention to go to in July and only has 6 of his 40 figures painted. Hopefully this rain will pass by next weekend.

SWW was fun. I need a bank loan to cover all the pins I purchased though. All year I had planned on buying two pins each weekend because when we were there last year I didn't realize they had different pins each weekend. This year they decide to have all 8 available this weekend. So of course I bought all 8, plus the logo pin and the AP pin. DH is mad that I didn't buy the throw you could purchase for $15 with a $50 purchase. We still want to buy the t-shirts and I want to get photopass pics with all the SW characters. I may have to find a job to pay for WDW pins. I did talk to a man in line in front of me who said he had 700 Tinkerbell pins.

Hope everyone is doing well this holiday weekend.:goodvibes
