Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

So much waiting, anticipating going on round these parts. I hope it is all over soon and pets are well and happy, schools are reopened, full of well young uns and all!

TB, a lawyer with a conscience? Must have been mighty inconvenient. I always wondered how my bil could cope cause he has feelings too. He was military so it might have been a tad bit different. One thing for sure he saw enough divorce cases that it done plumb scared him off marriage for his lifetime.

Ang, I am with you on the AR thing. Even if I might not have wanted to soil myself on my own behalf there is no way that I would have stopped and risked my partner/sister losing out. I like the Asian team as well. I am still rooting for the mom and son though. :cheer2:

M&N, I really need to get into that quote thing. Trouble is that I only get to stop by on the fly and get in a rush. You stated that a family member and a teacher you know were at DW and I was wishing you could have gone with them. Wishing your Jackie well.

JM, one of my students asked me if animals cried today and I thought of you. Naturally, my answer was yes. They can feel just like we do they just communicate it a bit differently. I can understand how your hubby feels about loud noises. It is something that is not likely to change. I am sorry for that fact.

Diva K, sounds like you are careful as I am in responding to any emails. Sometimes you can do a Goggle search and see if others are being asked for such info and if it is real. It is wise to be careful.

Timmie, I have been crunching numbers and am thinking I am just as well off with the 40% code as the FD cause I can cancel room only 5 days out and buy the DP for not much more. Keep looking and I am sure you will find another excuse, ummm reason to go again very soon!:woohoo:

My friend at the local water company is going to give me an adjustment on the water bill since the spillage did not go into the sewer system. I will take all the help I can get.

Back to work for me. Picking up Tom tomorrow and have to be ready for whatever is coming. Sure to be something. :scared1:

SG

SG, sorry for another Mozart story, but you mentioned a student asking if animals cried. When Mozart was 8 weeks old we took him to the vet for his 8 week shots. I'm signing him in at the reception desk and the dog is crying and I mean great big tears hitting the floor. Another time, the DH and I were arguing, across the bed to each other, we stop, look down and the dog is sitting there doing that hiccup thing you do when you cry really hard. It stopped the argument. He cried if we took his Fluff toy away, so you were correct, they do cry.

Diva K, no Facebook email here, so I would be afraid of a scam also. Seems like we can't trust much in our society. We just had someone stop us at the Olive Garden parking lot a week ago with one of those stories of how they were trying to go see their sick Mother, but the car broke down, but their uncle was driving up from Miami to get them and they were trying to get a hotel for the night. We aren't that far from Miami. Times like that I am glad that I don't carry cash because I'm not lying when I say I have no money.

Well, time to do the homework.:teacher:

Okay, we're both going nuts!! It wasn't a long trip for me. :rotfl: I don't know anyone who was in WDW any time recent other than Timmie....maybe it was on another thread and I said something about my family and BFF (who is a teacher) having no interest in going. :confused3
almost

2 hours later...

Son-in-law in home. Job sent everyone home. His AmEx office is closing June 2. Scary. Very scary. We moved here for this job, now we will have to go who knows where. Good news is he has connections with an AmEx VP who told him today she will hire him instantly if a position opens up in any of her areas: Rolling Meadows in IL - outside of Chicago (Ang know anything about a big AmEx office out your way?), Tampa, Hartford, Phoenix (too far from his mom in FL, who is quite ill) ...a few others I can't remember. sigh... He does have 44 weeks of full severance. Job ends June 1st, everyone will be pd until July 3rd and then severance pkg will kick in. Fingers crossed he will find something by the end of the summer.

Jackie is home from her surgery - poor thing. She has 5 different areas with sutures and appears to be in a good deal of discomfort....even tho the anesthesia has not yet worn off. Poor baby. We're thinking we may cancel the Mother's Day Charleston trip (Sunday to Wed next week).

Hope everyone else is having a better day!!!:thumbsup2

:grouphug:

M&N, sorry to hear about the DSIL's job. Hope it works out for all of you.

I hope Jackie gets to feeling better soon and you don't have to cancel your trip.

:hug::hug::hug:

if memory serves me right.. there was a big Amex Bldg downtown to streets away a Mercy Hospital... why do I remember this.. I think I passed it by on my way for a job hunt 2 yrs ago...

Ang ???? How many calories is there in one McDoubleCheeseburger??? :confused3

If we get a bad storm with tonado warnings I do put the dogs in their cage and have my purse and laptop ready to bring down to the basement with me but that is about all the prep I do.

Ang

Laptop, lol. The things we deem "necessities," right?

Kris--no email from FB. No official August park hours yet, either.

Yeah, I usually don't tell people about my background--it's like a dirty little secret in my closet. I guess I'm like your bil in that I worked in child support services long enough that it scared me off divorce for my lifetime!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dsil. As you know, we're going through the same thing, as my dh was just laid off. Hopefully he'll find something else within the company but if not, 44 weeks of severance is pretty good, especially in this economy. Hang in there--you all are in good company! Poor Jackie, I hope she does okay with all those stitches. I know how hard it is for them not to pick at them.

Ang ???? How many calories is there in one McDoubleCheeseburger??? :confused3

Naughty, naughty! (Says the girl who's eyeing the merlot. :rolleyes1)

Nothing new here. I cleaned, it rained. Same. . . stuff, different day.

Timmie, the calorie count of a McD Double is 390 or 8 WW points. I get mine without the bun and they give me extra lettuce that I wrap around it and that cuts down on the calories and makes it low carb. BTW, the most healthy thing you can get at McD is the ice cream cone, 140 calories and low fat. Anything else you need???:rotfl:

M&N, I will have to look up that post where I thought you said that two of your relatives/friends were at DW right now. Thought being the operative word. (sigh) Glad to hear that Jackie is back home where she belongs. I hope you do not have to cancel your trip. I am so very sorry to hear about your son's job loss. Glad to hear that he has good benefits and that he is needed elsewhere though, I hope it is somewhere you want to go. Wherever, you are sure to know someone from the DIS who can give you a heads up. This too shall pass but then you know that.

JM, do not apologize for writing about what you are passionate about. That is what makes anything interesting and besides I enjoyed hearing them. I also believe that dogs go to heaven. As happy as they make my dear friends how could it be otherwise? Out of all my phobias getting rid of the one doing with animals is the one I would wish for the most. I have come to the conclusion that I must be careful about who I give money to because if I give it where it is not truly needed I do not have it to give where it is. I have found that those who need it the least will ask for it the most. Besides if you pull a wallet out the people might grab it and run. They are snagging purses out of carts as folks load their groceries nowadays. :sad2:

No way have I gotten everything done today. So much needs doing and I have a sister and bil coming to visit in about two weeks. Luckily neither one is able to climb stairs so I can pass on cleaning upstairs. :rotfl2:

Timmy,
You at 4 double cheeseburgers. I want to know where you put it.

Go with SG total as I found online that it is 421 cal with 21 gr of fat. Hey with 84 fat gr at least you know it will come out faster than it went in. lol

MS,
Wow I never saw a dog cry that is sad. My dogs just whine so I suppose that could be crying but no tears.

What park and time are the fireworks. Do you need to sign up on the passholders site?

TB,
I would rather die in a tornado with my computer in my hands than food. lol Besides I will not dissapear if I don't eat for a while. lol

M&N,
Sorry to hear about BIL. Rolling Meadows is closer to where I grew up as I believe it is near Schaumburg, IL. I have no clue where the AmEx building is though as I have never visited that town that I remember anyway.

I am sure something even better will come through for him.

I love this outhouse pic.:rotfl:

You are suppose to be able to sign up tonight at 7:00, haven't checked to see if they opened it early or not. Will go do that. But at 7:00 on June 20th at MK they are having a demonstration on how Wishes is set up and then you view the fireworks from a reserved area. Also, earlier that day they have where you go to the Wide World of Sports for a demonstration of how all fireworks etc are set up.

DH is actually looking forward to it because he asked about it today. Must get Jacob off of my computer to check since my AP is saved on it.

Ang, the registration for the fireworks is open on the Passholder page. Glad I went and looked. We are doing the Wishes one. Need to get with the DH and see if he would like to do dinner. I didn't realize it was Father's Day weekend.

Oh, and I just saw that Dom DeLuise passed away. I always liked watching him. Always made me laugh and smile.

:snooty::mad: I wont be there anymore boo hoo...

MS,
Oh I hope they still have openings when I go get my AP in June. I wonder if GS or concierge could look to sign me up when I am there? It's worth a try. William would love to see how they set up the fireworks.

Thanks for the info.

Timmy,
No biggie on not being able to call back all we were doing is laughing anyway. lol I hope it was not a bad phone call you got if it was heated. Well you have a good night at work.

Ang

Just heard on the new that there will be no more closing schools due to swine flu. The government said it is a much milder case than they thought it would be and that no schools will be closing due to cases of swine flu. They said if a child gets the flu that child should stay out of school for a week instead.

We have 3 cases in our area right now and 82 in IL.

I would love to see how they set up the fireworks! Perhaps I'm a closet pyromaniac?

Glad to hear they're deeming it a fairly mild flu. Hope it stays that way into next flu season!

And for all you August Pop Tarts, I just read on another thread. . .

AUGUST PARK HOURS ARE UP! Gotta go! :car: :surfweb:

ETA: Grrr. . . I see nothing on wdw's site yet!
