Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

I woke up feeling like myself yesterday so I guess I am back to being 'ab' normal. :lmao:

I am waiting for the water heater installer to get here. On top of being so very darned sick on Monday when I finally was able to get up a bit I found that I did not have any hot water for a shower. Insult to injury.

TB, I have over 3,000 songs on my computers. What kind of music do you like? Kids like repetition cause that is how they learn. It comforts them. Kids memorize books and then like to think they are reading. It is a first step. My rule is one new thing for one old favorite. Variety is the spice of life. I also quote Auntie Mame, clean version. :rotfl2:

Ang, please tell Will that I got pinched yesterday even though I had a green frog watch on my purse. If I had tried the underwear things my friends would have asked me to 'prove' it. I believe that this is the first time I have ever heard of a father getting blame for anything. I think it is worth the risk for Will and his dad to have time together. I love the fact that his dad is not only willing but wants to have him with him. :)

JM, folks are odd. They move to different climes and countries and insist on living as they always have, no matter the inconvenience and stupidity. I am with you on the zeroscape, less work as well. If I were planning on staying in this house the rest of my life I would shell out the bucks to have my backyard (small) paved. I agree with Ants on putting the table out in the yard to get rain. I once bought a new winter coat and boots and gloves and it did not snow a bit that year. The cost of those items versus the cost of heating the house would mean that I should buy such each and every year. Consumer Reports says that refrigerators with ice makers break more often than ones without by many times. I use old fashioned ice cube trays when my ice maker breaks. I have also found that I can put a bit of water in the bottom of my cups, color coded, and avoid ice cubes altogether. I hope the dentist trip goes well. Have you thought to look for a dentist that works especially with children?

Ants, I hope you did not have a whole lot of green 'stuff' to clean up. Surely they would not waste your talents on such? :confused3

Diva K, I was talking about you the other day and most of it (okay, all of it) was good.

If the water heater guy gets here pretty soon I might have time to paint the doors, some a second coat. Burgundy. Beautiful. I cannot do anything until he gets here because I do not hear and have to be right by the door.

We're actually in WA state, not Canada

Timmy--How bad was work last night? :scared: Do you ever want to see the color green again?

Ok thank you for clearing that up... that you are not in Canada but in Washington.. all this time I thought you ar ein Canada thats why I have not bombarded you with text messages.. wait do you have unlimited texting /picture messages??? If not I will stick to sending pics on your email during vaca times... lol

Work was not bad at all our numbers were down... not as busy as the 1st of the year where everybody were trying to use their insurances for the last time :sad2: According to the pharmacy that they are seeing alot of OTC pills are being bought ... so alot have been trying to fix themselves athome rather than going to the hospital...:sad2:

Timmy,
Are you back to your old self after being sick?

Have a wonderful day,
Angela

Yes.. I think... I am back to my old cranky self at work

Ants, I hope you did not have a whole lot of green 'stuff' to clean up. Surely they would not waste your talents on such? :confused3

SG

not so much wioth the adults.. we have 2 campuses nearby so thats where the emergency came from... and yes!! Alot of green yukkiness!!!!

BTW.. is there a smaller crock pot ?? this 4 cup is killing me... I dont think I can eat another bowl of crock pot spaghetti :rotfl2:

SG,
What is normal? Do you have hot water yet?

I am so glad you are feeling better.

I told Will about your getting pinched and he laughed. I too am glad that Will and his dad spend time together because Will is a serious mamma's boy and needs that time with his dad. They have a hard time communicating or understanding each other unless I am with them. When they go on on the road without me they are forced to communicate themselves and they find that they really enjoy each others company when they spend so much time together.

Hello to everyone else.

Hey all! How's it going? Busy, busy, busy here. I haven't had the time to read anyone's posts, so I'm just hopeful everyone is doing well.
I just stopped in for a quick little drive by post. Talk at ya later!!

is this Twilight Zone time yet ???? :p

Melissa,
I have an idea put the table out in the yard and then you will get rain. :thumbsup2 We broke records today and got 75 degree weather. I am so happy to see DS outside running around.

He got in the car and first thing he said was "mom I forgot my green but I told everyone my underwear were green but they pinched me anyway." Do I know him or what. :rotfl:

Glad they are taking care of that refrigerater. Sadly, I don't think they make any appliances to last anymore.

Will and the dentist are only friends when he gets a cleaning otherwise he has panick attacks. He had his first fillings last summer and I think it was BS because he never had cavities before that. We had to find a new dentist and Will asked to go in alone because we both thought he would just be getting the cleaning we scheduled. He came out pale as a ghost and when I asked what happened he said he didn't know but his mouth was numb and then he just lost it and started crying. I was so upset that they didn't tell me and I found out they never explained to him what they were doing when they filled his teeth. So I need to find a new dentist. I only take him to the dentist in the summer and avoid the school year.

ADDED: I forgot to add that DS now blames DH for his cavities because he traveled with him on the truck last summer and his dad let him eat all the sweets and drink all the pop he desired. I don't buy junk food or sweets and pop for the house. I don't think DH told him to brush his teeth either. YUK!! DS did love that DH allowed him to order chicken strips and pop for breakfast though.

I kept thinking that it would have rained if I left the table out. We walked by one of the ponds they have in the subdivision for landscaping, it is almost dry. Makes you realize how dry it really is.

That's horrible that the dentist didn't explain what he was doing. I lucked out with the dentist for Jacob. I was  when she actually asked if he had been diagnosed with any sensory integration disorders. She took her time, explained everything to him, they had TV's at each chair to keep him preoccupied. Even where the x-ray was done. Jacob had to have a baby tooth surgically removed several years ago because it was horizontal under the gum and the permanent tooth had no where to go. Well, that tooth is now leaning forwards, so it won't be able to come up on its own and she can't find one of his canines. Getting the panoramic from the orthodontist to see if it showed up there and figure out what else is going on there. Can't really do anything now though because he hasn't lost all of his baby teeth. Guess him and the dentist will have to become good friends.

That's great the Will did tell everyone his underwear was green. :cool1:

JM--I am loving this Ipod! Took it to the grocery store last night, and even wore it while playing ds's video game with him yesterday. :woohoo: for multitasking! We probably will go to TL, but I'm not sure when, especially since it looks like they pushed the re-opening date. Are you hearing March 28? I don't think we'd make it that early in our trip, since it's our first day, but you never know. . . . :yay: for your table turning out okay, and :yay: :yay: for the fridge being covered by warranty!!!

Glad you are enjoying the Ipod. Does your car had the plug for it? Mine doesn't, but the adapters that transmit through the radio work well. Both of DH's cars have the plug ins.:sad2: I have over 3900 songs on my computer. There are even more on my Ipod. Fortunately I had moved our library over to the external hard drive a couple of years ago, but I can't figure out why some songs weren't in it when the computer crashed. Now I have to purchase a program that will move my playlists from the Ipod to Itunes. Everyone, make sure you backup your Itunes library!!! It took me weeks to get all of my CD's uploaded.

If that fridge weren't under warranty, I would be just opening the door and grabbing some ice. The maker works, just not the dispenser.

Just checked and TL will be open on the 28th.  TL is Jacob's favorite water park and he keeps asking when it will open, so that is why we are going that weekend. I have a feeling we will go during Spring Break also.

Hey all! How's it going? Busy, busy, busy here. I haven't had the time to read anyone's posts, so I'm just hopeful everyone is doing well.
I just stopped in for a quick little drive by post. Talk at ya later!!

Hello to you!!!! Glad you were able to drive by.

I have fantastic news. I finally called Dell to complain. I also wanted to see if possibly the backup could still be located, but sadly not, but I am getting my $50 back. The customer service person even emailed me her info and her managers info if I had any more problems. Too bad that technical person wasn't that great. A little bit better feeling for Dell now. Funny, got a catalog in the mail from them this week and didn't even open it. And I always look!

Table is done. I've left it outside to make sure it was good and dry. Now I can start my scrapbooking again.

Pretty easy day, I hope. The water heater guy came. Not sure it is working right but that might be because it takes a long while for it to fill up and then to heat up correctly. I do think I will be able to take some sort of shower tonight. Would it be mean of me to sneak mine in before Tom's? I figure I am more apt to leave some water for him than he is for me. :rotfl:

I went to Walgreens and traded one of my $25 gift cards I get for transferring a prescription. Most of my meds are in the $3 and $4 range so I make quite a profit out of doing this. I always spend them on things that I actually need so it is real savings versus Disney Math. Went by Lowe's and found a great cordless trimmer/edger that I can use my $60 rebate card from the washer on. Small yard and I am too old to do all that weed pulling anymore. I am German and NEED all the edges to be neat and clean. :dance3: Now to figure out what to use the rest of the Walgreen cards and Target cards on. Life is good!:hippie:

Ang, please take Will's gadget away from him for laughing at me getting pinched. BTW, just wondering. Was his underwear green when he first put it on? I know boys. :rolleyes1 I think an involved father is very important, even if imperfect. Do you ever go on the road with them? Bet your husband does not get lost in parking lots though.

JM, I sure hope you have a good dental plan. We did and our kids did not need anything, hardly even any cavities. It is the way things go. :flower3: Will you post a picture of your table when it is done? I'll show you mine if you show me yours. :lmao:

M2E. long time no see. How ya doing? Will you give us a report on things when you get back? We need all the help we can get. I am going back to Sports my next trip. I am a small resort type of gal. :woohoo:

Timmie, you are too darned young to know about The Twilight Zone but I will tell that where two or more Pop Tarts gather it is surely Twilight Zone time. :cool2: BTW, those tiny crockpots are more for a bit of fondue etc than real cooking. Might I suggest that you visit a local buffet restaurant that offers "Buy by the pound" and load up on a variety of things. It is about $4 a pound here at some times of the day and while it might seem a bit pricey you can get a wide selection of salad stuffs, fruits and entrees without the work, waste or shopping. Heck, if I were you, young and single, I would eat out most every meal and just keep a bit of cereal and some soups on the shelf.

Have they considered building a big old fence between Washington State and Canada? Gotta do something to keep those darned folks from coming down here and taking our places in line at WDW. All except for our Jandis though.

SG

Rie,
Glad to see you stop in. I have been wondering how things are going for you. I hope DH job situation turned out good.

Your going to the world in 17 days you lucky woman. Enjoy!!!

Melissa,
You can have some of our moisture the ground here is way too wet from all the snow melt and rain over the last month or so. We had all kinds of flooding here.

Glad you found suck a great dentist. Problem living in little towns is you are limited on medical professionals. We travel 45 minutes and still can't find a good dentist. Now our doctor is a really good guy and only 20 minutes away.

I keep meaning to mention I love my MP3 player too. I don't have ipod but the sony walkman. I wish my car had the plug in but I do have the transmitter so I can play it on the car stereo.

Wish I can say I am to young for TZ But when I was growing up thats the main stay show every Friday night. That and Star Trek.

And about the food by the lbs.. wish we have that hear but all we have are chinese buffets.. and am to cheap to pay something I can cook at home plus I cant handle MSG which alot of our local chinese buffet use. Well I have a plan... next time I am off the night before I will cook something and when I wake up let the crock pot cool off and cook another one and just portion it so I can alternate in eating it.

I'd take the single part but not young anymore... and I dont eat alot of cereal... you know me I love my brown rice!!! brown rice for breakfast .. brown rice for lunch... and brown rice for dinner :faint:

Mornin', PopTarts!

Hope everyone is doing well today.

Photobucket tells me I am over my bandwidth, but I deleted all but a couple of images -now it says that it will reset on the 13h of the NEXT month or for $39.95 I can upgrade. That is highway robbery - and I refuse to pay it since I am not over the bandwidth for the free account.

In the meantime, since Pop Tarts tend to know just about anything...anyone know of another site to upload images so I can have some fun again? I'm missing little Sophia here.;)

Thanks much!

I feel bad because I'm not good at remembering what everyone wrote - even if I go back and read it, I forget by the time I try to post each response...we have my 'ole MS to thank for this little bump in my memory, but it's small potatoes in the realm of life. :thumbsup2

My apologies for not being more sensitive - I do read everyday for sure and keep the good :tinker: dust flowing!

M&N, I have that same problem with remembering what everyone wrote.

Angela, please send the rain. Tampa announced last night no watering except with a hose. No sprinklers at all. This hurts a lot of people. You have the people who just put in new yards or already spend a fortune trying to get yards looking nice. Going to hurt the landscapers, nursery's and everyone else related to that field. Another hit on the economy. We are not effected yet, but I'm sure it is right around the corner for us. I didn't realize Florida got like this. Debating whether to turn in the family down the street who keeps watering during the day. They have sprinklers so it is just a matter of them getting out there and resetting the time on the system.:sad2: They are always home to, so they have to know the water is on.

Well, I off to Tampa to get the dog more eye medicine from the doggie opthamologist. Hope everyone has a great day!
Melissa

M&N I forgot to answer your request for a photo website. A fellow Dis'er recommended smugmug.com. You have to pay for it, but it is online storage and unlimited storage. I'm going to sign up next pay day. I think the basic was $29.95. I did some research and really couldn't find any bad reviews for it. Sounds like you weren't wanting to pay, but this is what I am going to do so next time my computer crashes, the external hard drive crashes or whatever happens, I will still have all my stuff.

Hope you find something if this does not interest you.

kodak gallery will store your photos. You just need to buy 1 print per year.

also you can use picasa and google photos.

Hey gals, I got news and permission to tell it. Nancy called this afternoon while I was, literally, waiting for paint to dry. She sounded good and while her leg is still numb she is thinking she will be fit as a fiddle soon.:cool1:

Timmie, you are younger than I, by far. It is hard to cook for one. I find it problematic for two and no longer do so. I do make a crockpot meal once a week and a few simple things but we eat out when I have to take Tom to town. My diet calls for simple things that do not require much prep work. Many groceries have prepared foods nowadays. You might check there. If you are more of a stir fry type of gal there are many veggies prepacked and you can buy the meat already chopped up. I read about the firefighters getting hurt in Philly. Did you get any of them? There is one that posts a lot on the DIS and I have been thinking of him today and hoping he was not involved.

Can up upload pictures from Picasa on the DIS? I find it to be a pain so I seldom do any of that fancy stuff.

M&N, I have the self same problem in trying to remember who is who and where they live, children etc. I have thought of making a spreadsheet but then I would have to look stuff up. I feel inferior for the fact too. I have no excuse. :upsidedow

Ang, with my hearing the last thing I need is noise in my ear. I do not listen to much music anymore and why I am going to the trouble of transferring all my wax to c/d I do not know other than I am a glutton for punishment.

I have the three doors all painted, three coats. Sort of a reddish burgundy and looks great with the gray. Think I will paint the two pots on my front porch also. Only took a qt of paint to do it all. I would rather paint than wash and it always comes out better anyway. Tomorrow, digging in the dirt. Oh , joy.
