Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Mom2Evie Wow, you sound like Super Mom! And that White Chocolate Bread Pudding sounds great. I love White Chocolate!

My parents arrived yesterday and when I asked my Mom what she wanted to do she said go to the mall.:scared1: No way was I going to our local mall, it can take 30 minutes to drive it around it on a normal day. I was willing to go to the outlet mall, but then she decided to go to WDW.:woohoo: So, we spent the afternoon at Epcot. It felt really weird to me, I kept thinking all of the CM's should be at home with their families.

Jacob woke up before us for the very first time this morning, so I missed the pic of his face when he saw that Santa had arrived. :sad2:

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Yes!! The snow is all melting!! Is everyone resting up for Boxing Day shopping? Or is that just a Canadian thing?

Jan, I believe that Boxing Day is an English/Canadian idea but I wish we had it here too. For the longest time I thought it referred to the Boxer Rebellion.:lmao: We have so much stuff and the concept of packing up our old stuff after getting all our Christmas Goodies and sharing with others is fantastic. BTW, I got your PM and plan to send your disk when I get time to make it. Your pictures came through a bit big. I will see if I can shrink them some. :cool1:

M2E, I remember those days and miss some of it but not the sheer volume of work, although it was worth it to see the kid's faces. Sounds as if you made it so lovely and I know your family appreciates it though.

JM. I feel the same about doing things on the holidays. If we did not shop etc. on those days then folks wouild be able to have the day off. Of course if we do not they might not have a job at all. What to do. EPCOT on Christmas Day, what a wonderful idea. Pity the folks at MK though. Was it very crowded? Anything special?:wizard:

Ang, did you get your package? Better late than never. I was sending cyber cards last evening. Thank heavens for technology. :scared1:

Timmie, I would imagine that the holidays are busy times for you at work. Hopefully not too bad though. I was visiting with my nephew who used to live in Philly and he told me that Bookbinder's had closed. I am glad I went when I did. I so enjoyed my trip there and more so for having my nephew show me around. My mom had always talked about the Philly Cheesesteaks and pretzels so we had to have some. Walking in the footsteps of the Founding Fathers, and Mothers, was awe inspiring. :cloud9:

Diva K, I snagged the pic of you and your beautiful family for future reference. I am totally sure I will remember you if we should ever meet again, you have very distinctive looks that so match your blazing personality. Not so sure about your family, especially since I have never met them, yet.

Pooh, I hope you had a great Christmas. Bet you have some great plans for NYE. You will have to party enough for me too cause I am not stirring outside the house. :cheer2:

Happy New Year all!!

SG

Happy day after Christmas everyone!!! Hope everyone's day went well.

SG,
I got the package thanks so much. I did send you an email and a thank you card. Loved getting it too!!!! So how are you feeling?

Rie,
Sounds like your Christmas was busy and I hope everyone enjoyed your dessert.

JMS,
My dream is to one day go to Disney for Christmas and spend the days in the parks enjoying the decorations that someone else took the time to put up and I don't have to help take down. lol I used to work in the hospital and worked many holidays. It is just something you accept and work your home schedule around. It's just part of the package when you take a job that is open on holidays. It is much nicer being home with your family those days though. Sorry you missed the pic of your son. My son has never ever woke before us on Christmas. We always have to wake him and I love it that way. We had a foster child once that would woke at 4am Christmas morning. I knew he was an early riser so I told him he could open the stocking stuffers while we got ready. I taped the heck out of every match box car in that stocking and it took him over an hour to open them. He didn't mind a bit either. lol

Jan Jan,
So glad to have you back. Hope you had an awesome trip. What the heck is boxing day shopping? I'm all shopped out and will wait another week or two for the crowds to clear before going back in a big store. lol

Ang

Yup had a great holiday no plans at all! Stayed home and cleaned my house!! Have my grandchildren coming on sunday. As far as plans for NYE None we have been asked to go to a couple of parties but not sure if I want to go out at all this year! Its lillies first NYE too.

Pooh, even though I know you are a grandma it still gives me pause when you bring it up. You just do not seem old enough to be one. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your visit. I know how special it will be for you. Staying home NYE can be good, if it is a choice. :cool1:

Ang, I plumb forgot I got a Christmas card from you. It came on the 24th, the day I was fixing all the food and stuff and it just plain skipped my simple mind. I am with you on going to DW for Christmas and avoiding all the busy work of the season and enjoying someone else's work instead. Where would YOU choose to eat on Christmas Day?

SG

Thanks, Ang, can't say I'm happy to be back though!:rotfl: Boxing day here is just like your black Friday, all the stores open early and most stuff is half price. I bought a bunch of stuff at Lush where it was buy one get 2 free.

Linda should I resize and resend??

Love your Christmas pic, Diva, when did you take that?

Jan, it would be very nice of you to resize the pictures. I am not used to folks catering to my every whim but I could try. :lmao:

I was under the impression that Boxing Day was the day after Christmas when you were supposed to box up your used stuff that you no longer had need of to give to charity. I thought it so wonderful an English tradition, please do not tell me that you "Northerners" have not become afflicted with American avarice?:lmao:

I seem to have developed a lovely case of the 'trots'. I would complain but it will make my next weigh in so much better than it was going to be and has greatly decreased my appetite. Me thinks I done indulged a bit too much. :scared1:

On that lovely note I shall close, trying to keep what little dignity I have left. :dance3:

work has been none stop... everybody must have the case of over feeding... skipped lunch... had been on coffee drip and got our roller blades out... but it is better this way... been busy all day and now I have only 4 hours togo and will have to do it all over again at 7AM...

You have to come back in Philly... will have to take you to all of my favorite watering hole :lmao:

Lush store :scratchin ???

I am so ready to go back to the promise Land... but that wont be anytime soon.... MArch... if I dont have my mom with me... I would be there jan3,4,5 she thinks I was crazy when I ask her if she wants to go back for the weekend !!! :sad2:

Timmie, I appreciate the invite but you must remember that I am so OLD :lmao: that the last time I was in Philly the Liberty Bell was not cracked so I doubt that I would be up for a pub run. Might get hit on again.:scared1:

Also, dear young un, your mother has known you all your life and knows you are crazy but loves you any old way. I doubt that wanting to fly off to DW for a weekend would be the oddest thing you have ever done. (ducking)

let's just say that not alot of my 1st of keen have the same interest with the Mouse :confused3

Love your Christmas pic, Diva, when did you take that?

Christmas 2007 @Wilderness Lodge. We had Christmas dinner @Artist's Point :cloud9:
(We sent our Christmas cards out late last year, when we got home, and used this pic!)

Is everyone breathing a sigh of relief that they have all of the Christmas work done and have a brief respite until getting the NYE things done? Seems I never really get to celebrate until after the fact when I have time to sit down and just enjoy.:)

Timmie, I fear that if either you, or I, had a nearby friend with the love of the Mouse we would go far more often than we currently do. I would work at DW if it were possible. The magic would still be there for me and being able to spread it would be fantastic. My dream job? Of course, the Fairy Godmother who reads kids to sleep in their rooms while the parents are out having fun. :cloud9:

Diva K, do you do Christmas letters? I love them. Never could understand folks who do not. The only ones that I could see people not liking are from people they do not like, even then I find them interesting and a reflection of their personalities, or lack thereof. :rotfl:

I think I am headed for the big city today. I really need to replace my car key that Lucy accidentally lost. It has a computer chip in it so you have to take all your keys, proof of ownership and your first born child to a dealership, along with an unlimited line of credit, to get it replaced. I am also hoping to find an Ansel Adams print for my bedroom wall. The empty spot just calls out for that. :yay:

Anyone here have one of those Netflix viewers? I am thinking that needs to be my next tech purchase. I am a sucker for old movies, documentaries and foreign TV shows. I could drop cable for that if I were able to teach Tom how to use it. He has only learned how to make a phone call and use a regular remote the past few years. (not kidding) :scared1:

Have a great 'tween' day and find bargains, peace, fun, excitement, or whatever else you want.

SG

Good morning Ms. SG... just got in at work.... :headache: is it midnight yet ??? :woohoo:

I am hoping this will be a day off for me. My dh is still asleep so I have to wait and see what sort of mood he is in. If it is his usual lazy one I am good to go, if he is manic I best stick around or I might not have a home to return to. :confused3 I only get days off about once every two months or so so this is a big deal.

It is going to cost $100 for the new key, less than I feared, from reports, but still very high. Could be worse though.

I forgot to tell you about about an awesome Christmas present I got. A dear friend, of many decades, gave me one of her handmade (by her) quilts. I am overwhelmed and humbled. It is one of her award winners. She takes about two years to make a quilt so giving one away is not something she does easily and seldom outside of her family. It is a treasure and if anyone tries to actually use it I will fold, spindle and mutilate them. :scared1: How I have been so lucky to have so many wonderful friends I do not know but I am surely glad of it.

Timmie, it is whatever time you desire it to be. Now to get your supervisor to agree and you are set! I am grateful that there are folks like you on duty, especially this time of year. You are needed.

SG/off for Indy

Nope...I figure everyone who needs to know whats going on in my family already knows...I've received some that sound really arrogant...not a big fan...to each his own :surfweb:

Anybody hear from MinnieNana? I'm worried about her....:worried:

 :yay: back up after 8 days!!!!! The ice was horrific, today we now have tornado warnings:confused3. We better not loose service before I get a flight booked- I am soooooo outta this place:lmao:
Miss all of you & hope Santa was good to all. I'll be back later if able:flower3:

Diva K, I always imagine that most everyone's summary of the year is either going to sound like bragging or complaining. It is according to how the year went and there are some folks that I do not keep in close touch with that I do wonder how their year went so I like 'em. :cool1: I have read a few really clever ones through the years but not a whole lot.

I heard from MinniesNana at Christmas and I just emailed her to tell her that you guys are worried about her. I imagine that since her family is off work for the holidays that computer time might be a bit scarce. And of course there is a certain someone who is needing a lot of attention this time of year. She might even be off visiting a friend. I hope it is all of the above.

Bonz, Bonz Voyage!!! You really should consider moving down here. It was might near 70 degrees here today, a record. A bit blustery but nothing major. I went to town, got around to several stores and did not need a shopping cart to hold onto, managed to bring almost all the groceries in from the car in a few trips, without a rest in between, and did so without disturbing Tom's TV show at all. I do not even feel an overwhelming need to choke him. I must be feeling good!!:cloud9:

SG

 happy Sunday!!!

can you beleive this??? 61 degrees right now here in Delco, Pa and it is only 57 degrees in orlando!!!

Diva K... How are you doing in Pa ????

Ok going to work now.... :car:
