I am so behind with everything... and have not updated anything...

time to clean up here at work.... have a nice holiday!!!

Ok finished reading pg 62.

M2E,
What an adorable picture. It has been years since DS sat on Santa's lap.

As for the too old to believe in Santa if it helps here is how I handled it: Out of the blue DS told me there is no Santa back in grade school. I said so what made you decide there is no Santa. He went on to say they talked about it in school yada, yada. I just looked at him and told him I was not going to tell him what to believe but he needed to understand that once he decides to not believe in Santa then all his gifts will only be from mom and dad and no more will come with Santa's name on it. We have always put mom and dad on all but one or two gifts since we wanted him to understand that gifts were not free for the taking. He took a couple minutes and came back to me and said "you know what mom I do still believe in Santa." He is 14and just discussed with me last night what kind of cookies to leave santa this year. lol It is sad when they lose that innocence but that is no reason not to pretend to believe so we can keep santa as part of the holiday.

JMSkinner,
How nice to be able to just run over to DTD. I am jealous. Oh to be somewhere where the temp is over 0 and I am not home bound because the roads are too icy to drive on and to just run over to Disney. A girl can dream can't she. lol

Bonz,
I am there here with you in the frozen tundra situation. Every day the roads are clear enough to drive on I get the heck out of here. DS and I went to a restaurant and just sat there and read the other day. The roads were safe enough to drive on so we went. It would be even more safe if people who can't drive would stay home though. lol

I freakin' LOVE that ice cream! Did you see the show on the Food network where they picked that flavor, created by a regular person to be the newest Hagen Daaz flavor? One of the flavors that made the top 5 is on the shelves too Ginger sesame brittle & coconut. That one totally sounded gross to me. One woman created cannoli ice cream and I was dying to try that one, but I don't think they ever made it.

edited to correct the name of the ginger ice cream.

Oh yeah, I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys. I booked our plane tickets for our April (5-11) trip last night.
I’ve been watching the prices for a few weeks now. The return flight has remained steady at $87 each until Sunday night… it jumped up to $296. Kevin had a cow, wondering why I hadn’t already bought it. I explained the price would go back down so Airtran could trumpet the sale, we still had 105 days left, etc. He didn’t care. When I told him last night that flights had gone back down, he insisted I book them NOW. I was going to wait on the flight down because they were still $166 each. Nothing doing, he tells me, book them now. So, we have non-stop flights both ways & will arrive on Sunday at 1:12 in the afternoon!! The downside is that we depart at 2:30pm, so we’ll have to leave for the airport about lunchtime. =( But the next flight leaving put us home WAY too late in the evening.
This is going to be such a great trip. 5 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and 1 last night at Mll Sat Movies (Evie's choice)

who knows whats going to happen after the 3rd country is gone ???

Timmie, please explain this. My mind is whirling and my curiosity is risen.:rotfl:

Ang, cold and no water? Yikes! Country living has its advantages but not so much in the winter.

M2E, just think about this. When the air fares go down you can enjoy saying "I told you so". :upsidedow

I drove around taking my last Christmas cards and things to the locals this morning and then packed a bunch of stuff out to the garage, back of the property. As luck would have it my grandson's showed up AFTER I had gotten it all put away. My kind of luck. Youngest grandson is settled in for a couple of days, oldest grandson's ex girlfriend came by to visit and intimated that she might show up for dinner tomorrow. Should be interesting.

I just ordered a pizza to be delivered. In all the years we have lived here I do not think I have ever done that. I have gained three pounds during the holidays so I have some serious work to do to get back on track come the New Year. Having a big gain the first of the year is good because that makes the loss bigger for 2009.:cool1:

Off to make the bread dough for tomorrow. Oldest grandson loves bread.

I'm baaaaaaaack!! What a great trip! Came back to a driveway covered in a foot of snow, which we had to shovel before we could pull in! Disney is so beautiful at Christmas.

so when are you going back.. any of our trips going to overlap missy ???:goodvibes

Timmie, I have lead a sheltered life for sure. I do not know about drinking games. I am loopy enough sober. :lmao:

My grandson is still asleep and my husband has left for the Senior Center. I have lunch pretty well organized, dd and family are coming over. Just as well he went to the Senior Center but a tiny part of me still resents the fact that I am left with all the work, all the time. Not that he would do any of it though.

Menu, Antipasti, Parmesan Chicken, spaghetti with marinara sauce, homemade Italian bread, banana nut bread, peanut butter fudge and other homemade desserts. Keeping it simple this year. Church services at 6 instead of 11 this year. I think that is a good idea.

Janjandis, what a bummer to end your trip that way. I am sorry. To make up for it, please send me your snail mail addy via PM and I will send you a copy of the dvd that I made for Ang so that you might have those pictures you asked for ages ago.

Merry Christmas, Chanukah, or Holidays, take your choice. All is good.

Love, Linda Lou

Merry Christmas!

:goodvibes everybody busy cooking ??? eating ??? still shopping ??? Well you have a good couple of hours before it is over... HURRY!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Merry Christmas Everyone!! I hope you all have a really great day, eating, gifting and visiting family. I hd some last minute things to pick up from the store. Apparently, so did 300 other people in my neighborhood!! The parking lot was unbelievably crowded. Inside wasn't much better and the whole trip took much longer than I expected. I spent most of the day baking. I made a white chocolate bread pudding. I put the whole loaf of bread in my food processor until it's crumbs, so the consistency of this pudding is more like custard than a more traditional chunky bread pudding. I'll serve it with a caramel sauce. DELISH!! I baked an apple pie for my husband. I don't eat the things myself, but he's already had a piece and said it was really good.
Evie's children's choir sang at Christmas Eve mass today. They had to be there at 3:30, started singing at 4 and mass started at 4:30. Since DH isn't Catholic, he actually only stayed through the singing & then slipped out the back. We got out of there about 5:45 & headed home. More to do, you know. DH & I each had our gifts to each other to wrap. I made dinner and then Evie & I baked sugar cookies for Santa. She picked the gingerbread shaped cutter this year. She iced them (messy!) and sprinkled them with read sugar (messier!). We sprinkled our reindeer food on our front lawn and got her into bed shortly after that. Notice I just say into bed and not asleep. I'm fairly certain she's lying there awake.... waiting for Santa.

All her gifts are wrapped & waiting upstairs. Hopefully we can place those around the tree shortly and then I can go to bed. I'm exhausted!! Somewhere in between the cooking, shopping and going to chuch, I found time to do dishes, laundry & clean up the house a bit.

Anyway, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
