Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Welcome to our new POP Tarts! :welcome:

Ang, I didn't know you're from Chicago! My home town - born at the now nonexistent St. Elizabeth's Hospital, my brother at Oak Park Hospital. I sure miss that place. Nowhere can Chicago Sweet Rolls be found - on the east coast theyc all them "Danish" but not even close. I'd give my right arm for some real Sweet Rolls and Long Johns..sigh...

Kris - Godspeed. Praying for good weather all the way.

Hiya, Timmy!

Jess,
I use a guy who is out by us which is about and hour and a half or so from Ohare. When I priced driving to a friends house in Westmont and parking I found the Limo/towncar services ran about $80 to $100 and found citisuburban taxi 630-495-5555 to be the best choice at $35 inc toll but that was about 2-3 years ago that I looked into it. I pay $95+tip from where I am so didn't find it worth driving to Westmont and paying a town car the same amount from there.

HTH

We will be at ASM for FD on Sept 19~25th YIPPEE
Almost had to skip cause of hubby's knee surgery!

Also so can someone "Boo" me? :sad1: I lost mine?

:welcome: grab a sit and share all your WDW tricks :wizard:

Well since I am a Tiggergirl, I always have a lot of bouncin to do. so yes back to the land of Magic at the Pop and I love strawberry poptarts. As far as washing the windows, not while I am on vacation. Looking forward to 9/10-19th for a lot of bouncin around the parks.....

:welcome: Tigger... no washing windows on vacation... but will you dust the mantle :p

Hiya, Timmy!

I had a really good friend in high school from Oak Park and spent a lot of time at her aparment hanging out. I have never had a Chicago Sweet Roll but have traveled to the east coast where they look at me like I have three heads when I ask for my coffee black. lol If we meet in October and I can get your Sweet Rolls and Long Johns I will bring some down for you. Don't you have a Dunkin Donuts in NC or are you talking about special sweet rolls and Long Johns?

Ang

There are definitely deals out there. I just like the idea of not driving ourselves and all that. I am sure it is probably less stressful, and that is the kind of thing that is really nice when you are on vacation...worth paying even a little extra if it works right...

Before I leave (got to run errands) I wanted to post that anyone who booked bounceback last year might want to reprice it now on the Disney website. I just priced it and called in to change the code and ended up paying $52.96 less for my stay. I am happy for that!!!

Jess,
It is wonderful having someone drive you in and not deal with traffic. I'm sure if you call some places you could find a good price that costs about what it costs to park.

Timmy,
The only mantle I know of is at TOT not Pop Century. Don't try to bait Tigger into one of you TOT meets now. lol

Small world, Angela! All of my cousins, aunts, uncles except one still live in the area. One cousin moved to Sarasota, FL! They love it there...funny, the rest of the family thought they were nuts for leaving Chicago, but my cousin was sick of the winters.

Of course, you've had sweet rolls! The ones you get at the bakeries - and Long Johns. I call it a "Chicago" sweet roll b/c I've not had them anywhere else (well, I did in Milwaukee).

The ones Dunkin Donuts have here and had in MA are nothing like real sweet rolls. Maybe I can find a photo....could they be called by another name now? Last time I was in a Chicago bakery was when my mother passed - I stayed with her after my dad passed. She wanted to be with him more and she passed very soon.

Anyway! I know there are less bakeries, but we went to a couple in the city and one Woodstock.

My goodness - could you carry long johns on a plane now? Youa re soo sweet! I used to take home a huge box every time I went home to visit - but haven't tried since 9/11.

Okay...all I can think about now is the long johns and sweet rolls!!!

I'm gonna have to find a way to get there in October!! Will you be at POP again?

Well, I don't feel bad anymore that WDW in June did not work out for me:

Tomorrowland Transit Authority will be closed from April 19 through August 24, 2009.

Now how, no way could I visit the MK and not ride WedWay at least a few times!!!

;) ;) ;)

p.s. I'm sorry Ang & Timmy...guess you'll have to wait until October and maybe we all can go on together. :)

:ssst: LOL  for TiggerD

Well fyi Ang.. I got stuck at the elevator on my way to work today :faint: and it is nothing like being on TOT!!! Nooooooooooooooooooooo :scared: I was there for a good 5 minutes hanging in between floor :scared1::sad:

There are less and less bakeries around. I will have to check the one near us. I keep seeing the cinnamon rolls from main street bakery so I don't think I know what a sweet roll is if that isn't it. I tend to stay away from bakeries and sweets (except for the main street bakery) for fear of the whole moment on the lips, lifetime on the hips thing.

You know I didn't think about taking them on the plane but I would think if they weren't cream filled and I just put them in a bag they would be ok.

I will be at Pop 10/2-10/12

:faint: they closing it the day I get in :faint::sad2:

Oh, so sad, Timmy! :sad1:

Oops, you slipped in there, Ang! I can't think of what else they'd be called b/c that's all we've ever called them. It's how we ask for them in the bakery...this is curious!! I'll ask my cousin. :)

Oh, you're going to have a nice stay at POP in October! Good for you!!

Timmy,
Oh no, that is awful I would much rather be stuck on the tower of terror than in a real elevator. Glad you got out though.

I love the people mover too. I think it is one of my favorite rides. To just relax with your feet up and enjoy. I will miss it in June.

yeah, and how about that Chinese restaurant outside the house in the 50's scene. It's a great big beautiful tomorrow starting at the end of every day. I love that ride especially when there are no other families in the room.
