Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

still snowing.... :goodvibes working on my 3rd irish cream coffee... hmmmm I think I am starting to look like a Leprichaun (sp?):lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

First snow day here:scared1: It is going to be a long winter:sad2:

Bonz,
OMG, it is way too early for a snow day. Better break out those drink recipies and enjoy the day in. It if it makes you feel a little better it is 15 degrees here but no snow.

Snow here too! School delays and a few closings....but of course, the city would actually shut down if we got 2 inches.;)

Stupid Snow Flurries! For those that don't know, I live in the Southeast corner of Virginia. We're getting snow flurries this morning. I HATE SNOW!! It's cold & wet. It makes my daughter act more insane than normal.

Snow flurries here now and then, very cold. Must wear shoes, so that means it is really, really COLD!:scared1: We usually have mild winters with little snow most of the time and coming much later, like after Christmas. Of course this year is promising to be different. If I can get all the doctoring done and just hibernate until Spring I will be one happy woman.
SG
Enough with the snow already! :headache:
At least it was chilly (50s) here today...had to wear long sleeves and a jacket when I went out with Diva Mary today (Cracker Barrel for breakfast & Macys!) :cloud9:
Tomorrow is the last day with the painters....tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow....:rolleyes1

No more talk of snow as I am sure that soon enough we will have our fair share so I don't want to think about it before I have to. lol Actually, the only thing I don't like about snow is that it means it is freezing out. Brrrrrr We broke records last year with how many days of snow we had. The only good thing is that if our school calls a snow day they do not make the 8th graders make up the days so that would mean more days off with DS and I like that.

Timmy, did you wear a coat or do you mean you didn't need a coat because you love the cold?

Linda, enjoy your Christmas festivities and may the icing in your hair remind you of all the smiles you put on the little ones faces. Enjoy the GS's this weekend. Oh yeah, I finally rented the bucket list and thought it was great and now I understand what you meant when you asked if anyone can honestly say they have felt real Joy and given someone else the gift of Joy (or something along those lines). Great movie by the way.

Kristin, So glad you will finally be back to normal tomorrow with no strange painters in your home.

Rie, Are you still sane or did DD drive you crazy today from the snow falling? lol

Christine, Hope you enjoyed your Friday to it's fullest.

Ang

you know what can keep you soooooooooo awake???? Coffee and watch all the episode of THE UNIT !!!!!!!!!:lmao:

Are we the only ones around today?!?!?

Looks that way!

I just had the nicest family birthday celebration. :) DD Mia's friend is here with her 6 mo old baby, and of course, we have little Sophia (who will be 12 weeks old on Tuesday, no longer a newborn!). Anyway, it was Debbie, her little Rachel, Mia, Michael, Sophia and me. Mia had the most delicious cake - chocolate with the lightest white icing - it's a European style so not sweet. Absolutely magnificent!!

Sophia gave me the sweetest book to record our family history - which will be a little bittersweet, but a wonderful way for her to know her Uncle Toby and Great Grandparents....all who are in heaven.

Birthday's and holidays now tend to be a bit teary for me at first, but then once I remember count my blessings all is well. I have so much to be thankful for, but still miss my Toby and nothing is ever the same without him now.

Well, my goodness, I do go on sometimes! Thanks for letting me pour my heart out...even if you didn't have a choice! ;)

:flower3:

My good friend & daughter's godmother run a dance studio here in town. Evie take ballet & jazz, I take tap & jazz. Today's was the first of two Christmas parades. I reluctantly agreed a month or more ago to take part. Ugh! We've practiced two hours each time Saturday & Sunday for the last month. This week, the temperature here plummeted. We got up this morning at 6am, dressed in full costume (toy soldiers) I left for the parade by 7:15 AM. Did I mention that the parade didn't start until 9:30AM! Did I mention that when we arrived at the parade location is was 28 degees! First we stood in the wind on the cold road for two hours. Then we tap danced for an hour over a 1.5 mile stretch of road. Evie was lucky though, she got to ride in the back of a truck with the music & just wave to people.
So, that wasn't enough. When we got home from the parade, DH, Evie & I went to lunch at Panera and then to Target so she could show him all the stuff she wanted for Christmas. We headed home so I could do some yard work. I bagged up 5 VERY large bags of leaves raked from the front & back yard and mowed the grass in the front. I showered, changed, did some grocery shopping, picked up dinner, made a dessert & then headed over to a friends to hang out for a couple of hours. We came home, I put Evie to bed & logged on to the Dis. Now I'm going to bed.

Glad you had a nice day
Cake sounds wonderful! Can't get good birthday cake here in Texas...icing is always too sweet :sad2:

It's 6:55 am and I'm exhausted just reading all you accomplished yesterday! Sure hope you had a good rest.

Glad you had a nice day

It's hard to find this kind of cake anywhere, unless there happens to be an authentic European style bakery around....it's funny because who would have thought Greensboro would have one when we never found one in Boston!:confused3

How lovely to find a full room when I arrived and so much great news! I love it!!!

Ang, I am so glad you liked the Bucket List. It is true that the best things in life are free and we never know the impact a word or a smile will have on someone's else's life unless we contemplate what those small acts mean to ours. Keep warm my friend.

Minnie, what a delightful day and what a wonderful gift that you can give to your Sophia. It might be decades until she is able to appreciate it but, knowing you, it will be full of love, laughter and lots to think about. It will warm your heart while you are writing it too. :lovestruc

Diva K, I am delighted for you. Guess the painters figured out that you did not buy enoug turkey for them so they had better move on. Having a freshly painted home for the holidays is a great start for the coming New Year as well!:cheer2:

M2E, I used to be able to do all that too. Enjoy your youth while you may. Do you and your daughter dance together? Sounds like you have your yard all done for the winter and a great start on the holidays. Bet you made the costumes as well. :flower3:

Timmie, you remind me of my sister. She only worked to pay for her vacations. She recently retired and is having the time of her life. Hint, her secret to a happy retirement is having a travel agent friend who takes her on free trips. :woohoo:

I love cake but not too sweet nor with frosting. Folks look at me oddly when I eat the middle of the carrot cake and leave the frosting. Guess I should move to Europe.

I have my trees up, two small ones, but more than I have had in several years. I used to be the Martha Stewart of Christmas. If not for my grandson we would not have it this year either. Hope this keeps up. Will keep me out of a condo/nursing home before my time. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving, Linda

Christine,
Sounds like you had a good day yesterday. It's nice to have the family visit sometimes. The cake sounds good. I agree that frosting is too sweet. I wonder What ingredients the Europeans use? Sadly, their chocolate is much better too.

Kristin,
Ugh another day with the painters. At least you have a final date though.

Rie,
I remember the days of being in parades and better you than me. lol I bet one you started dancing you weren't feeling that cold so much. Sorry, I can't feel bad for the cold you are having when we have already been in the single digits more than one day this year and it seems we are stuck in weather under 40 degrees till maybe March. I hate cold so at least I understand your pain. lol

Timmy,
Glad your home safe. Just in time to get ready for your December trip to Disney.

Linda,
Glad to see your out and about and ready for the holiday's. I am a bah humbug when it comes to decorating. I am happy with gel clings on the windows and one small tree. My DH refuses to let me decorate the outside and since there is no electrical plug outside he wins on that one. lol

Ang

Jan, I done forgot to tell you to quit your complaining. It is every bit as cold down here as it is up there. I think you are sending it this way too. :rotfl: Only thing we can do is hunker down and start planning a Spring Disney trip!:cheer2:

Ang, not out and about. Just put up two tiny trees but they sure do look pretty, especially with my newly downsized look. I used to keep one string of lights up somewhere every year just for 'those days'. I had outside outlets put in just for the Christmas lights. Not having condo fees and such I budget a certain amount for home improvements each and every year and am now at the point where I can do things just because they make my life more convenient. Lucky I. Watch out for those gel decorations, they melt and stick to glass. I am still looking for something to take off the remnants of Mickey and Minnie from my car.:confused3

I think I told you all that my procedure is set for the 19th. 85-90% chance of fixing what ails me and low risk so it sounds like a win/win for me. :) My insurance company must be loving me.

SG

SG,
You were out and about when you helped with the cookie decorating, right?
As for the gel clings; I have a Minnie Mouse on our front window that reminds Will of you. He insists it was the same one you had on your car window and it probably was but whenever I open the blinds he says there's Linda's Minnie Mouse. lol I think they only melt on your window if they are on there in the heat of summer though, at least I hope so. lol

Timmie, you remind me of my sister. She only worked to pay for her vacations. She recently retired and is having the time of her life. Hint, her secret to a happy retirement is having a travel agent friend who takes her on free trips. :woohoo:

Happy Thanksgiving, Linda

I love her already...:goodvibes

Timmy,
Glad your home safe. Just in time to get ready for your December trip to Disney.

Ang... my house look like the tazmanian devil stopped by... when fridge was delivered I had to move everything on right wall.. I was hoping that the walk space I provided would be sufficient... I was wrong...
and now it is already Monday and I am not even half decent... the dumpster is now full too !!! how can one acquire so much junk :faint::sad2:

We're back from Disney, and I'm depressed! It was cold in Orlando last week, but it's freezing cold up here in Massachusetts!:scared:

We had a great time last week, Nancy's a riot! :thumbsup2 Kellie just loved her, my husband thinks she was nuts for coming down...seeing that she had just had a stroke, and I think she's a great friend!

SSR was beautiful.....tried to get ahold of Timmy, seeing that we were at the same resort, but I wasn't successful! :sad2:

Now I have to get back to the 236 un-answered emails I have for my job!

Later!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
