Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Another SAHM here! How old is your DS? My DS is 10 years old (fifth grade.)

Jacob is also 10, just turned so on the 12th. He is 4th grader though. Part of the reason I have decided to stay home is he is ADHD and has sensory issues, plus he was recently diagnosed as having anxiety. He likes to be in control. Being home helps me take him to his doctor appts and therapy without stressing about asking for time off work. Plus, working all day and then trying to get through homework while cooking supper wasn't fun. Now if I could just get him to keep his room clean.

I do enjoy being home. Still hate doing housework though, but at least I don't mind doing it as much.

It's so quiet - everyone must be getting ready for Thanksgiving. :)

:welcome: Melissa! I'm kind of new around here too and the PoP Tarts are as nice as you'll find on the DIS ::yes::

It's so quiet here with the baby away - everyone went to Florida to visit DSIL's family so they can meet Sophia. The pups and I are having a grand time - a little cleaning, a little cooking, a lot of lounging.:thumbsup2 It is kinda scary at night being in this big house alone. Guess I'm too much of a city girl and feel safer in a 2 family house. Although this is very pretty.

Feeling the need to have a Disney trip in the planning, but the ecomony is so bad it's hard to part with even a small deposit...although I could probably convince myself after Christmas to part with a little cash for Disney.;)

Well, no news here....have a good one, Pop Tarts!! Hope everyone is doing well.:goodvibes

Christine

Now I'm confused, Timmy you DID go to Disney after all?!!!

I think she was there! :confused3

Even though Timmy said her cell phone didn't register my new cell phone #, I still left her my room # on the message! I was feeling pretty unloved, neglected and rejected! :sad1: :rotfl2:

Kellie was sad that she didn't get to share a cake with you Timmy! :sad2:

So what room number were you in, I really hope you weren't in the same building, I kept scanning faces for the first 4 days we were there! I thought I had found you on Monday, the poor woman must have thought I was stalking her! :rotfl2:

\Minnie, 4 months old is not a baby anymore? The older they get the more interesting they get. Like a flower unfolding. Sophia has her own personality and while one might tweak a bit here and there she is, for all intents and purposes, fully formed as to who she is from birth. Being the grandma you will be more able to enjoy those moments than when you had ALL the responsibility. Hint, it is best to not tell the parents if she does something for the first time with you. What they do not know will not break their hearts. :lovestruc

Oops, sorry, I just meant "offically" after 12 weeks babies are no longer considered a newborn...which makes sense, but who cares anyway?
When we wandering about a baby department a few weeks ago one of the sales associates said the cutest thing. She asked how old and when Mia said 8 weeks she said, "I could tell she's a fresh one". Aww....:lovestruc

Ahh, yes...not to worry about the slipping up and mentioning first times for Sophia - all the years I cared for babies have yet to let one slip out. ;) Just would not be fair...besides, those firsts are usually so quick in passing that they do better the next try. :) Of course, Mia will just be in the home office, so will see her during her breaks and lunch. We are so very blessed!

Sophia is 12 weeks old today!! Yep, I miss her.:lovestruc

Staying home tomorrow to clean :sad2:

Oh, so much fun to clean before company arrives!!

Thanks, Kristine.:) It's quite an impish smile - not the cutest photo of her, but I liked the impish effect. ;)

Funny...me too...only with a Ch ")

When I was little everybody called me Krissy :headache:
until @13 and told everyone to call me Kris
DH & DS get a kick out of it when we are with older relatives and they still call me Krissy!
My DM wanted to name me Mary Christine but my DD wouldn't let her because he was afraid people might
call me Merry Christmas because I was born near Christmas?!?!?

its funny when I see older relatives still call me Krissy!

Okay, I swear I'm not making this up - difference is it's the young ones who still call me Chrissy. My family called me Sissy...ugh...but I never much liked Chris becasue as a teen I'd get mail addressed to Mr Chris.... Hated that!!

Busy w/Dr.'s & house. I just want to tell all of you how Thankful I am for your friendship. May you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Ang-just a dusting of snow left:worship:

busy planning thanksgiving as well. Also caught a cold.

I am off to MIL on Thursday, plan to be back Sunday.

Hi everyone. I am so happy that they finally cut the corn down in the field across from us today so now I can see for miles again. Now to rid myself of the sinus infection I get everytime they put up or take down the corn.

Melissa,
Nice to hear more about you. My DS 14 has ADHD and Anxiety as well. He used to have some sensory issues but that seems to have passed as he has gotten older. I understand how hard it is with all the appointments etc. It gets hard trying to find appoinments after school too. I work from home so I am very fortunate not to have to find an employer who will work around the appoinments etc. It is a real blessing. Now to convince DH that we can run the business from a warmer climate. lol I have been working on him for about 10 years now and he won't budge.

Christine,
Love the baby pic she is so adorable.

Bonz,
I am very thankful to have you as a friend as well. Same goes for all my friends in this group. Glad to hear the snow is gone.

Timmy,
I laughed when you reminded me of the picture. My plans are the same but I will be coming home in June. Linda is basically on the way home for us.

Ang

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

So, guess everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving. A little history on myself, we just moved to Florida in July. For the first time since I was 16 (I'm now 39), I am not working out of the home, I'm now a stay-at-home Mom.

Thanksgiving plans: My DMIL and her boyfriend are heading this way from NC. It will be the first time she will see the house since we moved in. Looking forward to what she thinks. I know she will reorganize my kitchen, but I will just change it back once she leaves.:lmao:

I need to get the kiddo to school and get back home and clean! After I check email for more Dis updates, of course!

Hope everyone has a great day!
Melissa

OMG-wait til I tell DH you said this. He & his family make fun of me b/c I refer to it as cutting down the corn too. Apparently there is some technical farmer term for this event, so very glad I don't know what it is:rolleyes1 :lmao: Miss you girl:cutie:

ANG-don't know what I did to you quote but too early for me to fix it:headache:

Thanks Timmy, I think my kids are pretty special too:rolleyes: I'd love to put the pic in but I am too stupid to figure it out:sad2: sad isn't it? :grouphug: :flower3: Miss you!

Really glad I found this thread, which is funny because I remember seeing it, but didn't really see it if you get my meaning.

Please be patient with me, eventually I will learn everyone's names. And I can multiquote, but if I try to edit those quotes to shorten them, I mess up every time.:confused3

Oh, had to get into the name issue. I have been called Mel and Sissy, which I hate both. My mom calls me Sis half the time, haven't been able to figure that one out.

ANTSS2001 - My DMIL lives in Huntersville, NC. That is where my DH grew up. But he doesn't call it home anymore since it was only about 1000 people when he left for the military and not sure how big it is now, but they even have a huge mall.

DMIL and her boyfried made it here last night. Somehow their GPS got them off the interstate and it took them 2 hours more than it should have. :confused3

Do you eat Livermush? My DMIL brought some for DH and he is cooking it right now. I can't stand the stuff. Maybe I will go take a bath.

angwill - Jacob has really improved over time. I am so thankful the insurance pays for the therapy since the school system here seems to think he doesn't need it. Strange, you would think it was the other way around.

Kristineamb - I saw you are in TX. I was born and raised in San Angelo. Actually that is where we just moved from. What area are you in? Even though I now have a Florida drivers license, I will always be a Texan!

So, how many are planning to get up and go shopping Friday? I am hoping to skip it. The closest shopping area to us is crazy on a normal day, so there is no way I am going. But there is a new camera I want that will be on sale at Best Buy, but saw something yesterday that looks like maybe I can order it online on Thanksgiving day for the same price. Keeping my fingers crossed since DH actually agreed.

Hope everyone has a great day!

OMG, Timmy I never heard it called a dump pocket before. I've heard it called many different names but not that one. Should we warn Cheryl about that dump pocket so she can be prepared when she meets you for breakfast in Dec? lol

Bonz,
Never called it anything but cutting down the corn. It is what it is if you know what I mean? lol

Cheryl,
Hope you get rid of that cold soon. Enjoy your time with DMIL.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!! just incase I don't get back on here before tomorrow.

Ohhh Bonz, I think I know what it is called threshing the corn. Ask your DH if that's it. Then there is detassaling where they hire the kids 12 and up to pull the fuzzy top off every other row of corn or something like that.

Ang
