Sept 2007 My Affair w/Mickey -- Complete!

Great report so far! We're transplants from Northern Virginia....living in Arizona now and we're missing the fall time there! Anyway, can't wait to read more!

We tried to get in the habit of taking a picture of DD every morning, so we could see what she is wearing, in case she ever got separated from us.

Here is Sunday's photo:

So what happened around midnight?

Yep, some of the guests decided it would be fun to set off a series of firecrackers ... BANG, BANG, BANG!! I woke up with a start and my first thought was oh no, they are going to wake up DD.

We looked over to her bed and she .... wiggled a bit. Yep, that's it.

And yes, DH says, well while we are up....nope, not having it...I went back to bed. :goodvibes

Next chapter: How many doors can one place have?

So we go up to our room at Beach Club Villas. It's on the 3rd floor, first rooms to the elevator -- woo hoo! No walking forever to get to the elevator.

We open the door(s) and are just amazed. "Impressive" is the word my DH used. "These rooms are so nice we don't even need to go into the parks" says my mom. "Wow, look at all this space!" says I.

Yep, "spacious" (as you all guessed) is the word du jour to describe the villas. Want to see the rooms? Great! We'll show them to you, right after this break! :goodvibes

So how many doors are in this place?

a) 7
b) 9
c) 11
d) 13

Wow I love those doors ! We are renovating and are looking at doors right now....hmmm.

I guess 7.

Just giving you a little bump Marshay.

Hope to see an update tonight:cool1: :cool1:

Yes, DH is working late tonight so it'll have to be after I put DD to bed..but an update tonight (or tomorrow afternoon at the latest!)

So it may seem silly to count, but there were actually 11 doors (12 if you count the shower door which I forgot!) in this 2BR suite! Here are the pictures from our stay – I made DH take all the pictures before we ‘made ourselves at home’.

Here is our decorated door! Most people were really friendly and wrote us well-wishes. The maid and front desk manager gave us two pins on the cards. Others wrote directly on the orange paper. I’ll post pics later of some of the messages/notes.

Door #1 (door #2 is just to the right of this door and goes to the studio)

Now you just stepped inside the room (behind the decorated door). Here is door
(#3) that separates the 1BR from the studio.

Too funny!!

At BCV we were on the 3rd floor and my parents made comments about making sure the balcony door was locked...I guess I never really thought about that...

And more interesting at AKV, since they have signs on the windows stating that the balconies are monitored by video surveillance (protection for animals...) so you should close your drapes if you don't want to be someone's tv program for the night

Oh my does it really say that?

Looks like it will be nice, can't wait to see the pictures. I'm guessing B) 9 doors

What a gorgeous suite Marshay. I love the bedroom or studio, not sure which it was, really pretty and inviting.

WOW...12 doors!!!

That is amazing!!

Beautiful Rooms!!

I can't wait to see some of the notes.:cool1:

Now we are in the 1BR section. This is the living room and DD's sofa bed, also door #7 (sliding glass).

Reverse shot. Dang! There is another door I forgot...the one to my right in the photo is the door to the W/D (#8)...Ok, so whoever guessed 13 is actually correct!!! (unless I count the microwave and refrigerator doors, but I think that would start to get a bit too technical!! :rotfl2: )

Same shot, different angle. I liked the detail work in the cabinetry...

Our Master BR...note 2 more doors (sliding glass #9 and door to BR #10)

Part of the bathroom, note we have dolphin tiles, doors #11 shower door and #12 for door to bathroom

Double DANG!!
My DH did not get a shot of the toilet room, and this had another door in it, too...So that's 14 doors...The toilet room was about 4.5 feet by 4.5 feet -- it was really large and all it had in it was a commode and toilet paper holder!

Yes, as we were going through the rooms talking to each other, I made a wrong turn into the studio to get to my BR...and when you were in the bathroom shower section, there are those 3 doors (one to the toilet, one to the MBR and one to the kitchen area) and I kept turning around and going, hmmm, where do I want to go? It was freaking funny -- seriously, freaky b/c there were so many doors that it was funny to watch me!

What a gorgeous suite Marshay. I love the bedroom or studio, not sure which it was, really pretty and inviting.

This was the studio where my parents stayed. They had the queen bed and a pull out sofa.

This was the one and only towel animal (really a towel creation) that we had in our 1BR.

We had two hidden Mickeys (that I found)

One was in the carpet in the hallway:

And one was in the picture in the living room:

This is just a shot of the hallways with their pretty carpet:
