Sept 2007 My Affair w/Mickey -- Complete!

That towel creation is WAY better than our dinky ol' duck! :sad2:

Yeah, I must say it rocked! One of the days they actually had the maids in the lobby teaching a class on how to make your own towel animals and another table set up so you could have the maid make one for you to take with you.

I think I read it in your report, about the differences between Value and Deluxe (the bus stops are covered, with seats, etc)...well, here is another example of the deluxe resorts just adding more!

And wait until you see the tunnel!

Great TR so far. Waiting for more. Glad you had a nice trip. We returned last Monday - had a good time also. Looking forward to reading more of your TR. ;)

WOW...that place is gorgeous and huge!!!

That sounds funny, you just going in circles, getitng confused where you were going:rotfl2:

Love your towel creation!! That is awesome:thumbsup2

OK, I must interrupt this Disney report to show off a bit! I took a craft class at Recollections yesterday and made this Haunted House. I have never tried to make one of these before -- now I think I'll have to try one on my own.

It took us 4 hours to do (paint, make the clay pumpkins, add the metal steeple and decorate).

Now I have to get an electric/battery tea lamp to put in it. DD loves it and doesn't understand why I won't let her play with it by herself!

Just consider that a commercial interuption...now on with the TR...:lmao:

Now we are in the 1BR section. This is the living room and DD's sofa bed, also door #7 (sliding glass).

Reverse shot. Dang! There is another door I forgot...the one to my right in the photo is the door to the W/D (#8)...Ok, so whoever guessed 13 is actually correct!!! (unless I count the microwave and refrigerator doors, but I think that would start to get a bit too technical!! :rotfl2: )

Same shot, different angle. I liked the detail work in the cabinetry...

Our Master BR...note 2 more doors (sliding glass #9 and door to BR #10)

Part of the bathroom, note we have dolphin tiles, doors #11 shower door and #12 for door to bathroom

Double DANG!!
My DH did not get a shot of the toilet room, and this had another door in it, too...So that's 14 doors...The toilet room was about 4.5 feet by 4.5 feet -- it was really large and all it had in it was a commode and toilet paper holder!

Yes, as we were going through the rooms talking to each other, I made a wrong turn into the studio to get to my BR...and when you were in the bathroom shower section, there are those 3 doors (one to the toilet, one to the MBR and one to the kitchen area) and I kept turning around and going, hmmm, where do I want to go? It was freaking funny -- seriously, freaky b/c there were so many doors that it was funny to watch me!

It is so gorgeous Marshay and so big. I can just picture you going round and round into the wrong doors, lol, I would loved to have seen that!!!

This was the one and only towel animal (really a towel creation) that we had in our 1BR.

We had two hidden Mickeys (that I found)

One was in the carpet in the hallway:

And one was in the picture in the living room:

This is just a shot of the hallways with their pretty carpet:

I found the hidden Mickey in the carpet but I can't find it in that picture. I tried but can't see it.

That was spooktacular Marshay. I love it! Nice job!

So after unpacking, we try to rest a bit before dinner. When I made all of our ADRs 180 days in advance, my DD was taking an early nap around 1pm and eating dinner around 5pm…so I made ressies based on that schedule. Of course, now she naps later and we eat dinner around 6-7pm…but there was no way I was changing our ADRs since I knew all the restaurants would be booked up.

DH goes and lays down on the sofa bed with DD and although she doesn’t nap, she does rest and play quietly. Then we are off to dinner at O'hana (which means Family! as they constantly remind you...:rotfl: ) On the way, Papa tells us, "well, you know, that's two days that DD didn't nap...one more day and she will skip naps altogether!":scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

What??!! Why didn't anyone tell me this!?!?

Just kidding...I had read somewhere that when you are trying to teach your child a new habit, that if you give in (like letting your child come to bed with you when they cry in their crib) for three nights in a row, then your child thinks that is the new norm...

So now I'm a little worried b/c I rely on my DD napping during the day to do important things like DIS! :goodvibes Will DD ever nap again?

At O'hana's (which means Family!), we have a great waiter, oops, I mean cousin named Pedro. My DH and he just keep joking all night and anything that DH asks, he doesn't get but if I ask for it for DH, then Cousin Pedro gets it for him.

Dinner here was skewers of turkey *YUM*, steak *Good*, Pork and Sausage (they were overcooked), shrimp *YUM*, Augratin Potatoes, Veggies, and a wonderful bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. None of us are bread pudding fans, but we greedily ate up this dish!

Just pretend my eyes are open and this would be a good picture...unfortunately it's the only one at the table. But look at that view out the window -- I love the palm trees!

Hey, do I look like my dad or what? Note the exact same smile!

And part-way through dinner, they begin to have coconut races! Woo Hoo! I get DD in the mob lineup at the end and off she goes having a great time...or is she? (pls pretend you don't see me in these pics - thank you!)

It's tough to do when the broom is bigger than you!

At this point, she says, I know an easier way to do this.

After dinner, we walk around the Poly and watch the "Mickey Boats" at the dock. Then it's time for the boom-booms (Wishes) so we watch them from the beach and then head back to our spacious suite!

So, tomorrow we go to Epcot...I want to get there by 8:45am to beat the crowds...How soon does it take for the 5 of us to go our separate ways? and Is DH a crankypuss for me making him get up early or am I b/c he says he wants to sleep in?

These and more will be answered...when tomorrow turns...:rotfl2:

Also, there was one picture I was dying to get at Epcot with DD in Future World section...we did this when she was 3 months old...and it's GONE!!! They no longer have this...what is it?

Yea that towel was awesome. Hope you got to keep that!

I really didn't know if we were allowed to take it or not...so I just grabbed the Buzz and Woody piece of cardboard for my scrapbook...I didn't want to be charged for a towel creation....

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Don't read if you are still trying to find the hidden mickey on the painting!

More great pics Marshay. I think you definitely look like your Dad! Nice family photo.

Can't wait for the answers to the questions. I'm guessing A, ,figment and dreamfinder photo shot but am probably wrong.

I love the way DD decides to get the coconut where it should go, lol, she looked at the problem, figured it out and went for it, LOL.

Aww you should have asked. They couldn't possibly expect you to leave that towel. At least you got Buzz and Woody though.

Yeah, you can see the determination in her face...this was not a game to her but a problem that needed to be solved!:goodvibes

I had to laugh at your counting the doors in your villa. We just got back from a stay in a 2br at OKW and I was totally amazed by the number of lightswitches! I told DH I was going to count them and post a trivia question on the DIS. He gave me one of "those looks", and I never did.

It is truly mind boggling though!

Keep up the great TR. You daughter is absolutley lovely:thumbsup2 .

Great update Marshay!!

DD looked so cute playing the coocunt game:rotfl2:

You and your dad definitely have the same smile:goodvibes

Great view from Ohanas...gorgeous:)

Hate to break it to you, but dd is just about that age where naps are non-extensent....bout same age ds was when he stopped with them

Now, only time he naps, when he is sick or on a long car ride...

Oh..forgot..LOVE halloween house.. That is so awesome:thumbsup2

Great updates! That room is awesome!

Yes, you do look a lot like your dad!

I always wanted to try O'Hana, but everybody in my family is so picky. I don't think they would eat anything.

And I'm going to guess C.

Love all the pictures and the Haunted House. You are very talented.

We did the Ohana breakfast and the kids had a lot of fun. Maybe next time we will try dinner.
