Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

So I'm working on my FE gifts. Everything I'm making is for each individual. I've come up with a total of about 58 people including children, does that sound about right to those who have reviewed the list as well ? At this point I'm planning for 60 and hoping that we don't have more that sign up before the deadline. Has anyone taken the time to break the list up by age or number of adults to children. I would like see that list as well.

I've got a dilemma.

For one of the FE gifts, I don't want to give away too much, so I'm not going to say WHAT they are, but I'm using patterns of Disney characters... Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Daisy. Problem is, in some staterooms, there are more than 2 girls!!! Each person's getting one, so, if you're in a stateroom with 3 or more girls/women, and you'd like a "boy" character of the other ones mentioned, just let me know. It'd help me out a lot in determining which "boy" character to give to girls/women.

Also, if you think your children will want a particular one of the characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy or Pluto), let me know that as well. I can't do that for EVERYONE because I only have the supplies to make a certain number of each, so I can't make, for instance, 30 Plutos. But I WILL try to give the kids specific ones if they really like a specific character. Otherwise, it's going to be pretty random.

we don't mind having too many mickeys!! although my kids are still young i dont think they have a fav character yet...other than dora the explorer

you should call them - i booked us a private van for the 5 of us - but they might also be able to provide car seats....you do NOT want to be in Calif traffic - ESP LA traffic w/out one! (or 2)

Our cruise check in time for Vancouver is 12-12:30p.

I called and spoke to DCL and asked how much time I should leave after disembarking in LA at 9:30a, before setting a time for shuttle pick-up. He said at least an hour. As we are in an inside cabin, we will be one of the last groups to exit the ship, so I am thinking I will schedule SuperShuttle for 11a pick-up.

What is everyone doing in Vancouver before the cruise? Ideas I have are: Gas Town, Walking along the Sea Wall to Stanley Park, Downtown Shopping Centers, and Sea Bus. Any ideas for the evening near downtown?

We plan on buying the TransLink Day Pass for Monday (19th) as we will be using Sky Train to get from the Amtrak Train Station to our downtown hotel.

I am also looking for inexpensive places to eat in downtown. We will eat out for lunch and dinner on Monday Sept 19th. The hotel has free breakfast for Tuesday (20th) morning. Then lunch will be on the Disney Wonder.

Does anyone know where the underground food court is near the Port?

Is the Disney Store in Burnaby worth the Sky Train trip there and back? We have not been to one of the “New” Disney Stores yet.

Sorry everybody, the room number did indeed get switched. We are in Room 6037 unless we get some pixie dust. Just started my new job so things have been kind of hectic lately and haven't been able to DIS as much as usual (probably should get the learning curve down before I start DIS-ing at work!)

I know what you mean about not driving much on this trip. Last two vacations have included car crashes! Just back and forth to the airport for us.
And no....not my fault....

Normally part of the fun of vacationing is mainland driving for us since there's nowhere on our island its legal to go over 55 mph, but this time we're okay with it. That's crazy that you've had car crashes on your last two trips!! A few years back on vacation we rented an SUV and since DH wasn't used to the height of it he backed into a sign he couldn't see and caused the rear light to crack/a fender dent but we were able to pop the dent out and replace the light fairly easily so we didn't lose much time on our vacation ... Can't even imagine what a full car crash would have done to my carefully planned itinerary!
