Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

GREAT news....my younger sister is going to join Dianne & I (her 2nd cruise but FIRST Disney)...so we upgraded our room a bit...we are now in 7568!!:woohoo:
We would have upgraded more but those were only GTY rooms and that makes me nervous:scared1:
i like to KNOW where i'm going to be :rotfl::goodvibes
So her name is Teresa...she lives in Iowa and will either fly directly to Vancouver on Sunday night so she can tour Vanc with us, or she may fly to San Jose and take Amtrak up with us...??? she hasnt made that decision yet

Oh how nice! I would love to cruise with my sister. Plus, I think our cabins are very close. :thumbsup2

We'll be getting in around 9:30 Monday morning. We're still up in the air with our Vancouver plans. I think happy hour at the Pan Pacific sounds like a winner. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

We were looking at this one tour that sounded nice. To tell the real truth, Terry really wants to go zip-lining, but no one in our party is up to the task. She really wants to cross the suspension bridge. I'm a wuss.:lmao:

Yay....i'll put out something closer to the date for the happy hour mini meet at the PP as we get closer as well...but for all reading the thread now that will be in Vancouver Monday night....(and want to get together), i'm sure theres an awesome bar area there!!!! maybe one outside as well???

where is this zip line??? sounds great to me!!!!

The zip line is at Grouse Mountain. It is about $100 but the problem is getting there. It is on my bucket list and has been for a long, long time.

Nice, I would love for my sister and her family to join us, but my Nephew is going to be a Senior in HS, and working on his Eagle Scout award, so I don't think they would be able to go.

I am starting to worry that I booked a guaranteed room only. Does anybody have any experience with category 05C rooms? Are they ok, or should I try to book a specific room? It sounds like from previous posts that it is better to know where you are staying.

you will be okay...i think that's the category we just left and went to a 5A - just for a little larger cabin (from 268 sq ft to 304)...i have even had cat 7's and loved the room....i typically do porthole rooms on "holiday" cruises etc. because the rates are sooo much higher

well hopefully sooner than later...let us know when you get to Vancouver if you want to hook up for a mini meet - going to throw an option out to everyone who will be in Vancouver about possibly getting together at our hotel (Pan Pacific) for "Happy Hour" Monday night....the ship should be in Port...

We'd LOVE to do a mini-meet! Nate said that doing Happy Hour Monday at the Pan Pacific sounds great! :cool1:

FWIW, some of the people used TAs to link their dining. Some had conceirge link their dining. They all knew just to link dining. I think it affected upgrades and just caused general mayhem. If it were me I would wait to link dining until well after the July PIF date near the begining of August when it appears DCL does the upgrade shuffle and assigns all the GTY cabins.

Just my two cents.

I think that's a smart idea. No sense in rushing it. We can link at any time, so unless Nate and I don't have an assignment until we get there. As long as we get it early, then we'll be fine to link as soon as we get the room number.

Nate would also REALLY like to do the suspension bridge. If anyone wants to meet up Monday afternoon and do the suspension bridge together, we'd totally be up for that!!! :goodvibes

Doing the happy dance because the airfare I booked last week at $124 is now $184. Glad I jumped on it! :cool1:

Also an FYI if anyone else is flying out of PDX: Air Canada and United offer many of the same flights both operated by Jazz, but if you book through A.C there is no charge for the first checked bag. If you book through United they charge a baggage fee. (tricky eh?)

I agree no hurry at all

What is our latest FE participant list? I'm getting started on some of our gifts :)
Thanks!

Alas...my husband and I will not be joining you guys after all :sad1:

My husband just accepted a new job and doesn't feel comfortable taking vacation so soon. I am soooooo bummed but he has needed a change for a long time and although this cruise probably won't happen again I know we will take other Disney cruises together. :)

Y'all have a blast - can't wait to see pics so somebody please post a trip report! :goodvibes

TO ALL FISH EXTENDER PARTICIPANTS:

Could I please get your family last name?
You can PM me if you prefer the info to be private.
I need it for personalizing one of the FE gifts I'm making, but if you don't want your last name out there, please let me know and perhaps I can use your DIS name?
