Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

In other news, I got my hair highlighted today for the wedding and cruise - the girl got it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too blonde!!! :scared1: I asked for a 2 - 1 ratio of brown hair and blonde hair... I even said, "I want more brown hair than blonde" but I think she did 2 - 1 blonde to brown. :sad2:

It is always a shock when the new do happens. I am getting mine done this Saturday and it is a surprise but - in the long run - it is just hair. I am sure you will be gorgeous at your wedding -:bride: you will be so excited about your special day. Congratulations to you and your DH (to be) what a fun way to honeymoon.

:hippie:

Sitting here getting all the FE gifts into their little baggies, ready to pack up :)

Just a little note. My mom and I have both made/bought our own gifts for each room, but we will be putting them into the same baggies to make delivery a little easier on us :)

We couldn't wait any longer. Yesterday was the kids' first day of school (all two hours of it) so we did the big 'reveal' when they got home. After the shock wore off a bit, we sat and watching the Disney cruise DVD and then the girls got to go through the pirate stuff to pick out a costume. As expected my 6 year old does not want to dress up. We did compromise and she will wear something at least for a photo...I'm hoping that she'll change her mind by pirate night pirate:

Not sure how we're going to all make it through the next two weeks :cool1: but at least we can all talk about it now rather than dh and I disappearing into another room to whisper!

Watched the video - so cute -and what a great way to let the girls know about the cruise. Does the dog get to come too?? - seemed just as excited.

That was ADORABLE!!! LOVED the "recovery" for why the camera was on! That was really smart! ;)

YES definitely - i know that Heather has a table close to ours for her John, Rosie & Tara - not sure who else, and our table will have the 3 of us, Diane, Donna, Nate & Pam
Last year we had 24 people linked - had 3 large tables - it was great fun!!!!
I think we were talking about linking reservations - those in early linking with others in early and those in late linking with others in late. At least that way, even if we're not all at the same table, as I understand it, our tables would be close by each other and we'd all be on the same rotation.
Is there anyone still interested in doing something like that?! :confused3
We are on the early dining and would love to link up, especially with the DISsers who have preschoolers!

I might also have a thing or two to throw in there for Angela and Maggie as well. ;)

I know someone on this thread asked this question, but I'm not sure I ever saw any "no" responses - are there any parents who are against their kids getting candy in their FE's? It just so happens that FH and I are going to have some sour patch straws (wrapped, of course, since you can't take unwrapped candy on board the ship) that we're bringing on the cruise. We're doing a candy buffet for our wedding, and apparently, I overestimated how much candy I'd need! :headache: Every website I read said, "YOU NEED TONS AND TONS OF CANDY!!!" Well, we got that, but we got SO much that there's not room for all of it on the candy buffet table! LOL! So, since the sour straws (basically, licorice-type candy, but sour apple and sour strawberry flavored) are wrapped, I'm bringing them along - I should have enough for all the kiddos - but if there's a parent that doesn't want their kids to have something like that, please let me know and I'll make a note of it on my list. :)
Sam would love some candy. And we're also hoping to change our day 5 Palo brunch to a day 3 brunch so we'll be in the Palo line as soon as we board with everybody else ... :thumbsup2
We also will have some extras for the kids, and I think we're just a few doors down from 6047.

Thank you! THREE DAYS!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
OMG Congrats! I'd be freaking out, but you're still cool as a cucumber! So exciting since you've been waiting and anticipating so long!

Unfortunately Memorial Day weekend one of my student assistant's grandmother died, as well as my boss' father-in-law so we're down a few people on bereavement leave this week and things are more hectic than usual. Hoping I'll have time to get all the last minute details done (printing google maps for Canada and printing door magnets, getting homework done ahead of time) and finish up packing this weekend! A week and a half until we fly out! :yay::yay::yay:

Hi all,

I have been terrible about keeping up on these posts. Our oldest son is getting married on September 10th. After that, we have a week, before we leave for the cruise! Yikes! I want to do the FE, and have signed up for it, but have not much of an idea what I'm doing. I know I need to have something to hang from the fish in the hallway, and that I need to have small gifts for the other families on the list.

Can someone gift me the basics real quick of 1) what kinds of gifts are we talking about and 2) do we do a gift or gifts for each room for each day of the cruise, or are we assigned days and rooms to do, or what?

At this point it looks like we are in room 7088, but there is a strong possibility that this may change--they put us right next to our honeymooning son, who does not want to be next door--and all of our attempts to change the room for either one of us have been unsuccessful. So we are going to give it one more try at the port. How can I contact someone to let everyone know what room we're in?

Sorry, I know this has most likely already been gone over, but I am just in need of a quick and dirty digest so I can try to get up to speed before we leave.

Margo, room 7088 (but may change), with husband Pat, sons Blake (nearly 18) and Duncan (nearly 14), both with high-functioning autism

I think we want to link with some early diners. We are very far away from having little ones though. The third child will be taller than me by Christmas! How do we link dining?

We are on early dinning with a requested rotation of Animators, Parrot Cay, Parrot Cay (pirate night), Tritons (semi-formal night), Animators OR APPTA for short.
So if anyone gets the same rotation, keep an eye out for us :)

my first cruise that i did with FE's - i didn't have a cute little FE so i just hung a canvas bag from the fish...as far as what kinds of gifts...it could be anything....i've rec'd notepads/hilighters...candy....magnets...pins...wrist bands...souvenirs that replicated the city/state or country they were from....also there is no schedule as to when we deliver them...just choose a day
PS - IF your room changes, you should know by the 3:00 Dis meet Tues in the Promenade Lounge & also let MissJ1975 know - i think she had mentioned having some kind of note on her door for any changes....?? Jen is that right?

You need to just call DCL with the lead name & reservation no. of the other party(s) that you want to link with...we are late dining & have linked with quite a few other late diners....
that is another thing we should have added to our Group list.....

i just saw on Facebook that Run Disney uploaded many of the 1/2 photos....have you seen them - are you in any of them?

Yes, I've seen the photos that Run Disney posted on FB but unfortunately I'm not in any of them.

I must of had a typo, I have you in room 1038. I will change the list to room 7088. If the room changes again, I will have a dry erase board on my room door (6128). Just write your first name and new number on my door so everyone else can see.

You only have to do one gift for the cruise. Some cruisers will do more then one gift during the cruise since it is a 5 day cruises but most will just do one gift. For example I have an individual gift I will deliver the first night and also a cabin gift I will deliver the last day. You can deliver these gifts anytime you want during the cruise, just don't wait till late the very last night of the cruise because most cruisers will have their stuff packed away ready for early morning departure.

You can do either one gift for the cabin or one gift for each individual in the cabin. For example some cruisers do a bigger goodie bag for the cabin to share or some cruisers do small gifts for each cruiser. Totally your choice. And don't think you have to spend a lot of money. It is really the thought that counts. One of the cheapest gifts I got on my last cruise but one of my favorites was some ziploc baggies. Those ziploc baggies were a life saver later on.

Like Cadznychc said, you can use a canvas bag or even a gift bag for your fish extender if you didn't buy one from ebay or made one. You will have a large metal fish clip outside your cabin door. Just hang the bag from there and whenever you come back to your room check the bag for surprise goodies.

do I request this through my TA, or is there a place to add it in my online disney stuff?

do I request this through my TA, or is there a place to add it in my online disney stuff?

You will need to ask your TA to call in and request the dinning rotation. It will only be a request since they cannot guarantee it, but they can usually honor them. You won't know your actual rotation until you get your Key card at check in. It will have you rotation printed on it abbreviated in letters (like appta, etc).

I was able to call in myself for our and my moms room since I am the travel agent in our case.
