Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

We leave the day after the day after tomorrow! It's my last day of work and of course I have to run a three hour meeting. Probably good that it will force me to pay attention and not make a packing list.

Packing this weekend! Yeehaw!

BTW - anyone members of DVC? We're thinking of joining while on the cruise; wondered if anyone has liked the benefits.

Not a DVC member yet (DH says i HAVE to wait till DS out of college - doesn't help that he's at a private college) BUT good friends ARE dvc AND i've been able to enjoy some of the resorts with them!!! i would BUY in a heartbeat and will in a 2-3 more years

Was just wondering how many were going to be on the Tuesday Morning train to Vancouver. My group will be joining in Bellingham.

Can anyone confirm when the port terminal opens?
Thanks!

(can't wait to be the first to use the brand new bath tub! Assuming that the rumor of new tubs is true, lol)

don't know if it opens before 11 am - but that was the first check in option....

There are a few DVC members on this thread! Many of us would be happy to chat with you about our experiences with it!

See you onboard!!

What time is a good time to book pickup shuttle at San Pedro after cruise?
We have booked private van for 8ppl with Primetime shuttle for $96

FrozenFire - now I know where you live - teehee!

Capn Jack Savvy - All US/ Canada has same electrical 120.

ACK…..you know it’s not good news when you see “Celebration, FL” caller ID on your telephone today. Our Victoria tour has been canceled. Told the Disney rep that it this was the worst that was going to happen on our trip I’ll take it. Think we’ll just wing it. But I’m going down the street a couple of blocks to our new library and check out the travel section.

because of rain?

Oh, also add, semi formal attire including slip and shoes to my packing list

That's a bummer that your Victoria excursion was cancelled. Which one did you have booked?
I hadn't heard about the tubs. I remember them being rather slippery though. We had to be careful giving my 3 yr old ds a bath when we were on the Wonder in Feb. Gotta get cracking on my packing.

When I have been in Princess repositioning cruises heading South in September it was a good time to purchase items that they were clearing from the Alaska cruises. Wonder if there will be any sales onboard the Disney Wonder after being refurbished - would make great Christmas gifts - will only be 3 months shopping left.:woohoo:

I hope so too. I need to bring back a couple of things for my co-workers

Oh good!!! glad she is & has been on the FE list all along :)

you probably mentioned that she's your mom 'pages' ago...i tried scanning the pages last night - but gave up after about 10 :rotfl:

and on another note.....ONE MORE sleep for me till our adventure begins!!! Pick up sister tonite at airport and "maybe" finish packing one of these days....I actually have to lay everything out on the bed (which i usually do in the guest room but since she's going to sleep there tonite she might want a clear bed) so that i can match up jewelry shoes & any other accessories - then i can pack - so probably be doing that in the morning....

I am pretty much packed. I had my nails done yesterday and a wonderful massage today.

Jenn, sorry to hear that they canceled your excursion. can you book another one?

Oh dear! Which excursion was it? I'd be dsappointed if ours got cancelled but Victoria is beautiful anyways and it would give me more time to look fo the perfect tea restaurant I remember ...

We are leaving tomorrow too. Own at the Grand Californian and love it so much we bought additional points resale. Depending on which home resort you're looking at sometimes the cruise deals are almost as good as buying resale... don't know about the 'benefits' per se since we see it as prepaying our vacations, but we do love being members and vacationing Disney style every year for a great price in our villa.
The DVC salesperson on board the ship did leave me a voicemail yesterday so I'll probably go pick up some new hats or something on board and tell them to build a DLH DVC so I can be tempted into buying more points ... ;)

We booked ours outside of the cruise line through AAA. We are doing a grey line tour, which has the double decker bus and allows you get get on and off as you tour the city.

Hi all!

We were on the last Alaskan cruise ending Sept 6 and had a WONDERful time! We met some awesome crew memebrs who you will just love. I'd like to send a couple a little something in thanks for all they did, but not sure how to send to a port espeically when they are repositioning. Just wondering if anyone who might be cruising but not leaving home for a few days might be willing to take a little something for us and leave at guest services for those crew members?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks everyone. Our tour was the Wine, Cider and Spirit Tour. We have visited a couple of wineries before but not cider or spirit makers. We thought it’d be fun, get some education and have the opportunity to get out of the downtown area. Oh well, we’re on vacation. Really it’s not big deal. I went to the library and checked out a book on Vancouver Island and Victoria. We’ll probably do a hop-on-off buss or carriage ride, followed up with a good lunch somewhere and some wondering the streets.

That does sound good! I live here and never heard of that tour :rotfl: I think they should have been marketing to the locals as well!

I will be aboard the cruise with a friend. I, unfortunately, did not have the time to make or purchase a fish extender so I can't participate in that but I would be delighted to attend the meet-up, if that is cool (I know I'm a newcomer to the forums- longtime lurker, recent poster.)
