Hey all out there, We've had this great thread going about our upcoming cruise, what about post cruise time? Is there a post cruise thread some where on the DIS boards? It going to be pretty deflating coming home and not typing about the trip to you all. I know we can exchange info. on the boat, but this thread has been pretty nice too.

Just a thought, those of you who will be traveling Friday/Saturday, will you have a cell phone with you? If you want to pm me your # I will be happy to call you on your cell with any updates/changes that I hear about. Ah, the beauty of free nationwide long distance! Just let me know. Anything we can do to keep each other informed ...............

Is anyone else wondering how we are going to manage to sail around this thing if it will definitely be a hurricane by Sunday and the winds/rough seas extend beyond the center (which will be over the Northern Bahamas on Sunday)? I'm not questioning the Captain's knowledge/ability at all, but just wondering for my own peace of mind.........................

Ugh, I can't believe this stuff! I'm so disappointed that we probably won't hit CC, but the other options are nice. We are leaving Sat. a.m to drive from ATL, but I'm worried about what we'll have after today and Fri's winds and rain from Ivan. I will not book this time of year again-- that is my new mantra!!
I spoke to Debbie yesterday and she said to call back Friday and she should know what our itinerary will be.
I'm going nuts trying to pack- like others. I'm trying to figure out how to pack all the baby food in glass jars-- any ideas out there??? DH also suggested I pack a couple extra days just in case something should happen and we get delayed on the ship (I guess you never know with the way things have been the last month!)
I am going to try to get by HOme Depot and get some Mickey heads to make into pins. We won't have a door sign- no time, unless I speed ahead and have some time tomorrow- yeah right! We will try to meet at the Goofy pool.

The ship is probably equipt with GPS navigation or at least the little bobbing compas you can put in your car (excuse the sarcasm-I'm itchy to leave). They probably have great communication with weather people out there. I'm not too worried about the ship, I just want to get on the boat.

DIS boards won't pull our 9/19 thread will they after we've sailed will they? :

Mommyof5: If it's possible, I don't know if customs will like it, but wrap the baby food in clothing or pack some clothing in your carry on and the baby food wrapped in it. I agree w/ you DH, pack extra food just in case. It won't be very fun carrying the extra load, but at least you'll be prepared.

Someone posted Cozumel or San Juan?? Was that for OUR cruise??? They said Bahamas very unlikely???

Someone know anything for sure??? Has Disney said NO Bahamas, but we are waiting for the alternative route???

We are driving out about 48 hrs from now (Sat am)

As for those swearing NOT to book Hurricane season again... this is the ONLY time, our cruise has been changed and all...


this is the WORST season in a LONG time... we are just not lucky this year...

Hi All,

I just got off the phone w/DCL. Spoke with Star, who was very pleasant. According to her there has not been any "official" changes in our itinery. She did say they were keeping a very close eye on Jeanne, but due to the uncertaintity of her size and destination there has not been any official changes. Star recommended that I call again tomorrow and definately on Saturday.


Great idea about exchanging cell phone #'s to keep those on the road posted. Krystina'sMommy, I will send you my cell phone # and would be happy to devy up any phone calls that may need to be made between tomorrow and Sat. Our flight is not leaving until 5:10 PM Saturday night so I will be around for a while.

No changes as of yet, but are watching closely & will definitely know more by Saturday.

For all of you traveling tomorrow and Saturday, have a safe trip. I know the weather is bad north of us with Ivan on the prowl. well it turns out that today my wife called dcl today and spoke with a lady named Barb. She was very helpfull my wife said.. Barb said we have most likely two possible choices of travel for our cruise this Sunday.. If we can make it around the keys in time before Jeanne churns up the waves and such we will most likely go to Cozumel... If we can't make it there. Then we will second chance go north to Charlston Carolina... I pray we make it to cozumel because I think the carolina's are getting hit or are going to get hit by IVAN? So I can't see us going there.. So figured I'd share this info with you all as of 4pm eastern tonight... thats all I have .. I guess we really just need to wait till we board the boat and see where we are going from there?

I kinda hope we stop somewhere... But only time and weather will tell...

Thanks for sharing the info, Spankey. I, too, hope we can get to Cozumel. I know I've said that as long as I get to / on the boat I'll be happy, but I'd atleast like to get out of the US!

Ya know not sure if anyone looked at Ivan's track lately.. But they place it right over the Carolina's as of Saturday... I would hate to say it, but I would much rather spend 4 days at sea vs staying in the states with rain... I feel if anyone looks at the weather channel lately, Ivan is dumping rain like buckets of nails everwhere it goes.. The bad thing is that Jeanne is supposed to be right around CC on Sunday around 2pm... So that gives our captain a few hours to high tail it south and cut around the keys to even get close to going to cozumel... Has the DCL ever gone to BERMUDA wouldn't that be so NICE???? If ya think about it, that would put us out of IVANS path and JEANNE's path altogether.... BERMUDA....One could only dream.... But I think its a tad off in the distance.... Not sure.. But cozumel looks further.. But who knows... Guess again, we just need to wait and see when we get on... But again, has DCL ever went to bermuda before???

I might not even get to post this so I am HURRYING! It is rainy and windy here. Power is beginning to dip lots! We flooded here in Western NC last week due to Frances. Expecting worse due to Ivan!

Charleston, South Carolina is a beautiful town... but NOT where I want to go on the cruise I only live 6 hrs from there, and could drive down if I wanted! Oh well thus is life and I will be happy to just make it to the boat!

Ivan shouldn't be affecting Charleston too badly as they are much further east of the 'eye' of Ivan, and it will continue to move north away from Charelston. I do hope and pray that we can make it to Cozumel... I wish that once on board we could get below Jeanne and then have her hit it into high gear get out of our way so that we could make it to CC! I too was like many of you... disappointed that wouldn't get to go to CC after Frances, then THRILLED at the recent news... now bummed again!

Oh well, we'll be on the boat!!
