We actually had a nice day yesterday. It was about 86 degrees with LOW humidity. After the kind of days we'd been having, it felt like heaven! :cloud9:

So, I'm feeling a little sad. My little girl princess:

is growing up! I had to go get her registered for kinder yesterday. I can't imagine how I'll be on the 1st day of school! :sad2:

I decided to send her to a different school than she's assigned to. There is a new charter school opening this school year and she was accepted. They are run like a private school, but are publicly (state) funded. I think it will be more challenging for her. She already knows most everything they teach in kinder :teacher:

so atleast she won't be bored because they'll keep her busy.

T: please give me some pointers on how to cope with the 1st day of school!

I cried when Logan started Kindergarten last August. I took the whole week off. I think it was more stressful for me than for him. :confused3

I know Kristina will do well. We almost put Logan in the Charter school here but I am very glad that I didn't. The school is having a lot of major issues and is a mess. Logan has done well in kindergarten but has some focus issues. His teachers believe it was because he was 4 when he started school and the youngest in his class. He's doing well now though. Funny,that's what my son's teacher's said about him about focusing. He's gotten good marks, but mentally he can be all over the place.

I agree with Cyndi, Leonor, you will be more stressed out than Krystina will be. If she's not the shy type, she'll be leaping into her classroom waiting for you to leave. My dd was anxious for me to leave, but she didn't want me to go very far (for a couple minutes any way). Also, what I thought was funny, parents brought their cameras into the Kdg. classroom. It was a mini celeb event. I was surprised about that part.

Now that the school year is almost over, I've accumulated a drawer full of papers and art work. Cydi, do you have any tips for paring down the momentos of paperwork?

Our weather has been insane for the last 8days. Its been either rainy or super cloudy! The nights have been colder and it has made my mood heckle and hyde-ish. These are the times I wish we still lived in Calf. at least I could deal with the warmer weather and the clouds. At 3pm today we had blue skies and it was about 64degrees...hooray!

I'm so jealous about Amanda, she's about ready to board the Magic for a double dip w/ the family. She asked me if I wanted to come help her pack... :lmao:

She's so funny.

You guys are going to have a great time!!! Of course, not as great without T and me, but.........

T, I have a photo box labeles with his grade and teacher and made a "frame" on the top that has a clear plastic sleeve that I have put his class picture into. I keep it on the top shelf of his closet. I have picked and chose my way through his work through the year. I get rid of "doubles" or very similar things and hold onto special projects and paperwork that has shown his progress. Its hard to downsize. :confused3

Well the typical bi-polar weather of Portland is back. Monday we had record breaking heat, today it's 55 and raining. Man ya gotta love this state to live here or it will drive you nuts! :crazy:

I can't believe I did what I did, but I hope it will make a difference. I went through our thread, all the pages of the Magnetic door thread, and I went through dead threads I've left posts on to do what.... delete my signature line. I'm hoping it will help when I hit the submit button and any other buttons here on the DIS.

We have DSL and so I couldn't figure out why the window flag would be waving for so long (at least a minute some times). It's gotten pretty annoying for having DSL. My logic is (I don't know if this is true) all the signatures that are out there might be having to pop up every where. My dh said what I did would help DSL's servers a little bit. As of this moring, the DIS has been responding much better. Going through 3,000+ posts was a pain, but it was fun going back through our precious cruise thread!

I hpe that everyone is having a great weekend. We went to Universal Studios yesterday. It was very hot and........ field trip day for the middle school! It was packed!!!! Bad day to go! Today is movie day with Logan. Over the Hedge for us.

I wanted to surprise my next cruise group with the game of DIS tag. I don't care what Webmaster Alex says or other posters, but I CANNOT PERFORM A SEARCH (haven't been able to for about a month).

Could one of you (Amanda or Leonor, or Cyndi) look for "DIS tag" on the cruise forum and post the links to the resulted threads? And I think lilpooter posted how she did it for this cruise too. I'd appreciate your help bunches and bunches!

Taeja, I couldn't find the info on the dis-tag game. I thought someone just made up a mickey head magnet and we found a fellow dis'ers stateroom and put it on the door. Then they wrote their screen name on it and passed it on.

T, I made mine up on the magnetic computer paper that you buy at the office supply store. I created my own graphocs and just printed it out. People can sign it as they get it if you want or not.
