Weren't you on the Double Dip 06? Did we meet at the DIS meet? Did you do the tour of Walt's suite that trip???? That was a great cruise wasn't it???

I was a December Double Dipper in '06 with Todd..err Captain Jack, right Dirty Vegas? I have yet to see either the Walt or Roy Suite, except for the front door, lol.

As far as entertainment is concerned, was John Charles on board for any of the other TA or PC cruises? We saw him on the Double Dip two weeks ago and he was great!
We saw him on the '08 WB Panama cruise. Those shows were so much better than when we saw him a year earlier.

Hi,
I know there's been some questions about using Disney for travel/transfers, etc.

I've been on 5 DCL cruises and have not used DCL for airfare, transfers, hotel, etc. I thought they were too expensive - Plus - I enjoy researching things myself. On the WB TA last year ( I traveled alone) I chose to fly over to Paris a few days early as I'd never been there (Aer Lingus - great price). Then took the overnight train to Barcelona and went directly to the Magic. 2010 we'll go to Paris first but also have an extra day in Barcelona as I didn't see as much as I wanted to last time!
However, I know lots of people that don't want to bother w/all the research/logistics/etc. and prefer to leave it to Disney - just show up and Disney takes care of everything!!!
So that doesn't really help does it!!!!

He was SOOO GOOOD on the WB Panama, that they kept him on the ship longer than originally scheduled. His first night in the adult lounges...all three were filled to capacity and linked via tv screens. When he got on the ship he had asked if he could stay through the canal and they told him no. Well those plans changed! :lmao: He eventually did another night time show in the Walt theater and it was packed! :thumbsup2

OMG , your so right , we had to leave it was soooooooo bad They had a Magician on the 5 day afterwards that was bad too ...so bad he couldnt get out of the trunk he was handcuffed and locked in :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: his name was Anthony the Magic ....

That actually made me LOL!!!

I had a picture in my mind of a chest on the stage just bouncing up and down as he tried to get out. Did someone eventually come let him out? I would have just left him there, thats what he gets for trying a trick he couldn't actually do, in front of hundreds of people!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Here's my funny alcohol story. On the med cruise in 07 we arrived in palermo. I hadn't had time to go to the store in barcelona so after a morning of sightseeing, I deposit my daughter in kids club and took her princess backpack and headed out. Found a liquor store and stocked up on wine, vodka and whisky. Shoved it all in the princess backpack and headed back to the ship. I put it through the xray and they just looked and started laughing as the scan came up. Never seen a kids backpack used that way before. I told them, at least I didn't have my daughter carrying it!:rotfl2:

Needless to say, they had no concern over brining the alcohol on board.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Another great visual! What a great idea, and a great way to help reduce the bar tab, I have to do this if I am going to be at sea for 5 straight days!

Anyone one have a clue what the approximate cost would be for a overnight train from Paris to Barcelona (single adult), and could this be a option for arriving the day of the cruise, good/bad?
Train fares in Europe are inexpensive. We traveled on the Eurostar last month from Paris to London, and the price was $94 USD p/p, advance booking. It took 2 hours 40 minutes.

But before booking an overnight train (especially traveling alone), I would take a look at some of the other travel boards. Sadly, there are many reports of robbery and theft.

Go to eurostars website and check it. I think I heard you have to change trains somewhere but not sure.

I am so happy to hear that! I hope that he will be on at least a little bit. :thumbsup2

If anybody is visiting WDW between now and then, we don't live far away and would love to get together for a meet if we can. Just let us know if and when you will be in town. :jumping1: :sulley:

Todd, too much fun in that picture, lol.

Hey Hoagie, we're going to be there for the Food and Wine on Nov 2nd, we'll be there in the evening, another cruiser will be with us.

Then if you want to see loads of puppies we have our annual puppy trip on Dec 6, we take all the different transportation around and have lunch at one of the resorts and then take pictures with the pups and the Christmas decorations.

It would be nice to see you again since we'll be traveling together now!

we will be at WDW in 11 days, but this trip is pretty packed as we board the Magic on 11/1.
However, we have a land/sea booked for next November (we are taking our God Daughter who will be 8 at the time), and plan to arrive a day early for our package to get to Old town for Old time photos and then to Downtown Disney for dinner. Maybe we could meet up then?

TGIF! We went to our friends tonight to help them fill our their cruise doc's. They are first time cruisers and are very excited! You never know... They may just have so much fun, that they decide to book with us again!

We were able to get into Palo more, but only one extra time and it was the last minute kind of thing - not during the intial booking/excursion time booking. Also, I am under the assumption that DCL will NOT allow you to bring alcohol from ports on board. They do not allow it at other ports. They do sell alcohol on board by Diversions so they might have it there, but there was no alcohol allowed.
Actually you can bring it on board. We usually pick up a bottle of rum in the caribean and picked up some sherry in Cadiz on the TA. You get to keep it with you which is great if you want to drink it on the ship--not so great if you (as I think the original question implied) want to bring cases home with you as DCL does not store it and it will take up space in your room.
Good morning! :goodvibes

For you repeaters ...

Just a silly question while I'm thinking about it.

Since the cruise is a longer one, did Disney offer any laundry specials last time?

Like, shove-all-the-clothes-you-can-in-one-bag-for-a-flat-fee sort of thing?

We are spoiled on HAL: "free" laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing comes with your suite. I barely do laundry at home. Perhaps I am thinking about this now as I stare at 2 suitcases that are begging to be unpacked and laundered? Hmmmm.....
Don't I wish they did:laundy:
Ahoy, Mates!

I am beyond thrilled to join the many Sept 27 Double Dip Delighters (DDD) as well as the rest of you on this exciting journey! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my fellow DDDs! We are all so lucky to have them with us here, and selfishly, I cannot wait to see them again!!

There are so many familiar DISboard names I see here, so I'm very excited to get to know and meet you guys, too! It's so exciting to become a part of the DIS TA crew of past and present! :goodvibes

Captain DisneyVegas, over the weekend, I'll get info in for the official roll call as well! :worship: :worship: to you for being our DIS WB TA Captain and web designer! I *know* this is a big role to fill! :thumbsup2 MERCI!!

Brooklyn, great job on the logo banners!
Hi Kimberly--I am giddy with all us repeaters:goodvibes
Barcelona is awesome, so much to do. We arrived 3 days ahead of time and didn't even scratch the surface. I'm hoping to go back a week before, but we'll see. And if you want a totally different view of the city be sure to sign up for Barcelona Glides! It's a Segeway tour and you will learn soooooo much and have the best time doing it! We will be doing it again, it was a great tour. And if you've done them at WDW or DL you'll find out how fast they can REALLY go!!!!
I agree--Barcelona is a fantastic city. I could spend days at Parque Guell alone:upsidedow

That is a classic story! :lmao: :lmao:

Did you try the coffee rum yet? Was it any good?

As far as entertainment is concerned, was John Charles on board for any of the other TA or PC cruises? We saw him on the Double Dip two weeks ago and he was great!

He was on the eastbound TA last time for sure. Funny--he has been on 5 of our 6 DCL trips and 2 of our Princess cruises (way back--I THINK he only does Disney these days but I am not sure).

Yucky day here--septic issue which resulted ina flooded basement:scared: We finally have it mostly under control now and are ready to collapse.
