Count us in for the 2010 Special - TransAtlantic would be great. Calling in to the UK would be even beter.

Just in case you didn't know, the Wonder called to Southampton before she crossed the Atlantic so it would be good for her to visit again! :lovestruc

After having to cancel the 15 day EB repo this would be fantatstic so count us in on this cruise.

we should be going to le harve on the repo. le harve is the port for paris although paris is about 3 hour bus ride one way. i know its a long way but never been to paris it might be worth while. did anybody find anything about the ports for the repo? just to be clear i have no evidence that they are going here on the repo.but other cruiselines go here on their repo to northern europe.

Gee...

... it has grown quiet suddenly. Well... I was just passing through to look about. We skipped DL today on account of being a bit tired from yesterdays' beach BBQ we hosted (Saturday). We had 5 families on hand for a total of 16 souls. Being that schools started we had most of the beach to ourselves - and the temps were tolerably cool with a bit of a breeze. We made hot dogs, korean BBQ beef, curry chicken, BBQ Beef ribs (I made them and they were only so-so), plus salmon burgers. Here are a few pix:

So ... we did compromise having skipped DL but had dinner with about 15 friends and family tonite (Sunday). Over supper Alicia and a girlfriend of hers (Jennifer - pictured above in brown leather jacket was also at the beach with us) made tenative arrangements for them to join us on the Big Island in April... and possibly to take a girls shopping trip to Hong Kong ... without the spouses or kids. So tonite was spent investigating a few travel combinations of dates and hotel deals for Hong Kong. It looks pretty good for a 5 nite stay in Hong Kong at "5 star" property .... anyone interested in going with Alicia and girlfriend to HK for a "Girls only Shopping trip?" is welcome to PM me for the proposed travel details. Although Alicia is English speaking only... Jennifer is fluent with a couple dialecs of Chinese.

Aside from that ... we're starting to develope the conversation with our friends and family for sailing/booking Disney in a few weeks ... for a 2010 sailing of some sort!

OK... I'm only semi-coherent.... it's late and time fer me to turn in. I'm beat from the past 2 days... plus the soccer games of saturday morning. Whew! Our 7 year old girls did fantastic scoring 6-1... while our little 4-5 year olds did so-so scoring 2 to 6. Oh well... time to turn in!

Cheers, and we hope your weeek to come is a perfectly pleasant one!

Tom

Morning everyone - I've got a day off today - still severely jet-lagged.

Good morning all... it is a nice chilly one here in the four corners. hope everyone had a good weekend. I had to work 3 12's and they were long ones.

To us too.

On Alaska Debbie...

... I agree with you (above) that Alaska is of interest to us. As would another PC repo. I thought it was a simply wonderful voyage - a good length of days and ports of excellent interest now that I'm savoring the memories. I still have things I'd do again/differently of do for the 1st time when DCL repeats a PC repo and those ports. And I must say I felt the VALUE was good compared to other DCL voyages.

Now I know folks are anticipating the Baltic voyages here... and I'd like to say we're extrememly enthusiastic - however our position has a few "moving parts" to it as well. IE, are we getting any of our family to go who just sailed DCL on the EBREPO? That would seal the deal for us. If not... then we're still game ... but is our expanded family group going to settle on another Disney voyage elsewhere in the world for this same time of year (as a proposed Baltic voyage)? Generally, we have taken only ONE Disney cruise per year (at most)... which is comfortable for us... but we'd consider 2 with a meaningful seperation of cruise dates.

Questions - questions - questions.... :confused3

Kevin would sooo love this too. But I just don't see this cruise happening.:guilty: It's going to take quite a while to recoup from this last Repo.

Awww gee.... Debbie....

... I still feel the seat under me shifting ever so slightly from the sensation of being at sea! And of course, it did cost a bit to do the trip too. SO I must agree in more ways than one that recovery from the EBREPO is a work in progress over here too! ;)

... and Debbie... with near a couple years to plan for this ... Baltic ... another PC Repo or Alaska cruise are plausible considerations IMO. I'm just beginning to wonder if the new ships eventual arrival will result in some lower fares somewhere for good DCL voyages. Frankly, we've always considered the Disney SHIP itself to be our primary vacation destination... less so the ports. However, the ports are always an intergal consideration too.

we should be going to le harve on the repo. le harve is the port for paris although paris is about 3 hour bus ride one way. i know its a long way but never been to paris it might be worth while. did anybody find anything about the ports for the repo? just to be clear i have no evidence that they are going here on the repo.but other cruiselines go here on their repo to northern europe.

Now this is interesting. I don't know that a 3 hour one way (6 hours R/T?!) bus ride is a reasonable consideration with the limited times we have in port... especially considering how much there is for one to see in Paris. However, I wonder ... would a train present a faster means of getting into and out of Paris? Is this an option?

Always room for more. Don't let the fact that many of us have cruised together turn you off of this cruise or thread. There will be plenty of time to make new friends and new memories.

Yeah....

.... I'd say one thing I've validated is the gang we've had on the EBREPO was amazingly NICE and neighborly. It still impresses me with how pleasant it was to have met so many many on the voyage. I just wish I did not have that scratchy cough otherwise I would have litterially sat down with so many to just chat, laugh and reminesce. DId I misspell that... cuz my spell checking feature does not work on my machine.

At any rate... please step forward to join the conversation with confidence. The vast majority of folks here are simply wonderful neighbors to share a word or thought with. And in the months to come - as a lurker or conversant contributor you cannot lose with the volume of pixie dust floating 'round here!

I want to be on this cruise. Not sure if it will happen or not. I love sea days, so it would be great. Now I gotta convince some others they want to be on this cruise.:thumbsup2

I too share your apprehension at coordinating interest among travel friends and family. Ultimately, it seems my dear spouse has already given me the nod that we'll unlink our travel palsn from our past travel group of family members. However, that comes with the consideration that they don't decide as a group to do an alternate DCL sailing in 2010 that is too close to a proposed Baltic travel date. KWIM? ;)

I meant to say Hi the last time you posted.

We sailed together for the transatlantic. Just wanted to comment on how beautiful the girls are....but you already knew that right? I missed seeing them on the ship this time.

:wave2: Hey there! Haven't seen you in forever!! Apparently it must be forever, because I don't think I've seen pictures of the littlest one. Cute!!

I'm alive...just buried in work. I feel like I'm suffocating. I guess it's true what they say...You play, you pay.

Stupid, idiotic question.....if DCL does go to the Baltics, where might they stop?

This may have already been posted....
I've copied it from the Mousesavers newletter emailed today.

2010 Special Disney Cruise Line Itineraries
Disney has not yet officially announced any special itineraries for 2010. However, I believe the Magic will cruise to Northern Europe and the Baltic in June and July 2010, on a 12-night itinerary. The port schedule for Copenhagen, Denmark shows the Magic will be in port on June 15, June 27, July 9 and July 21. It also shows the ship will be arriving from Oslo, Norway and departing for Warnemunde (port closest to Berlin).

Heck, I'm still not functioning on all cylinders from the TOAL!:rotfl2: Hope you enjoyed Toby, he does put on quite the show and is on my list to do again (and again and again!).

DH is STILL working on the pic's - I swear he must of taken about 10K between DLR and the cruise.

We are planning to do these cruises too. I would want the whole family to do the last Baltic (if the last one before the repo is a Baltic---the dates confuse me) and then just me and maybe my mom will do the transatlantic back. I do not know if we will do the ones coming back in August or the ones going there in May, it all depends on the timing and the pricing....Times 6, especially for the air, is alot....ouchies :scared1:

I am so excited to see alot of others thinking about it too. I can't wait until October 7!

Hard to believe we were on the 2nd page .. This is a bump ... Of course I am sure it will pick up on the 7th which by then we can put a date to this thread , but we know this will be the repo thread ....

things are bad at work they told us no more overtime until the new year. i work a lot of ot so i can pay for these cruises. i usually double my pay with the ot. hopefully next year will pick up. im defintely going to northern europe just might not make the repo hard to tell now. i will book the northern europe with points, than hopefully the repo will not be that much like in 2007. one good thing my house will be paid off in early 2010.

Well I would love to do the WB and the last European one also, so that could be umm....26 days on board ?? Wow, not sure if DH is up for that, or if he could handle the rough waters back to the USA. He gets sea sick. DD12 is itching to go, especially if Russia is a port!

Then again for 2011 we would love love love to do Alaska and then there is the new ship, which we want to be on.

So many options..and not so much money...or time :confused3 .
