On Alaska Debbie...
... I agree with you (above) that Alaska is of interest to us. As would another PC repo. I thought it was a simply wonderful voyage - a good length of days and ports of excellent interest now that I'm savoring the memories. I still have things I'd do again/differently of do for the 1st time when
DCL repeats a PC repo and those ports. And I must say I felt the VALUE was
good compared to other DCL voyages.
Now I know folks are anticipating the Baltic voyages here... and I'd like to say we're extrememly enthusiastic - however our position has a few "moving parts" to it as well. IE, are we getting any of our family to go who just sailed DCL on the EBREPO? That would seal the deal for us. If not... then we're still game ... but is our expanded family group going to settle on another Disney voyage elsewhere in the world for this same time of year (as a proposed Baltic voyage)? Generally, we have taken only ONE
Disney cruise per year (at most)... which is comfortable for us... but we'd consider 2 with a meaningful seperation of cruise dates.
Questions - questions - questions....
Kevin would sooo love this too. But I just don't see this cruise happening.

It's going to take quite a while to recoup from this last Repo.
Awww gee.... Debbie....
... I still feel the seat under me shifting ever so slightly from the sensation of being at sea! And of course, it did cost a bit to do the trip too. SO I must agree in more ways than one that recovery from the EBREPO is a work in progress over here too!
... and Debbie... with near a couple years to plan for this ... Baltic ... another PC Repo or Alaska cruise are plausible considerations IMO. I'm just beginning to wonder if the new ships eventual arrival will result in some lower fares somewhere for good DCL voyages. Frankly, we've always considered the Disney SHIP itself to be our primary vacation destination... less so the ports. However, the ports are always an intergal consideration too.
we should be going to le harve on the repo. le harve is the port for paris although paris is about 3 hour bus ride one way. i know its a long way but never been to paris it might be worth while. did anybody find anything about the ports for the repo? just to be clear i have no evidence that they are going here on the repo.but other cruiselines go here on their repo to northern europe.
Now this is interesting. I don't know that a 3 hour one way (6 hours R/T?!) bus ride is a reasonable consideration with the limited times we have in port... especially considering how much there is for one to see in Paris. However, I wonder ... would a train present a faster means of getting into and out of Paris? Is this an option?
Always room for more. Don't let the fact that many of us have cruised together turn you off of this cruise or thread. There will be plenty of time to make new friends and new memories.
Yeah....
.... I'd say one thing I've validated is the gang we've had on the EBREPO was amazingly NICE and neighborly. It still impresses me with how pleasant it was to have met so many many on the voyage. I just wish I did not have that scratchy cough otherwise I would have litterially sat down with so many to just chat, laugh and reminesce. DId I misspell that... cuz my spell checking feature does not work on my machine.
At any rate... please step forward to join the conversation with confidence. The vast majority of folks here are simply wonderful neighbors to share a word or thought with. And in the months to come - as a lurker or conversant contributor you cannot lose with the volume of pixie dust floating 'round here!
I want to be on this cruise. Not sure if it will happen or not. I love sea days, so it would be great. Now I gotta convince some others they want to be on this cruise.
I too share your apprehension at coordinating interest among travel friends and family. Ultimately, it seems my dear spouse has already given me the nod that we'll unlink our travel palsn from our past travel group of family members. However, that comes with the consideration that they don't decide as a group to do an alternate DCL sailing in 2010 that is too close to a proposed Baltic travel date. KWIM?
