I meant to say Hi the last time you posted.

We sailed together for the transatlantic. Just wanted to comment on how beautiful the girls are....but you already knew that right? I missed seeing them on the ship this time.

Monica

thank you Monica. We think they are beautiful, too... We missed being on the ship, but life kinda messed us up for that trip. We are so hoping to be on the next TA.

:wave2: Hey there! Haven't seen you in forever!! Apparently it must be forever, because I don't think I've seen pictures of the littlest one. Cute!!

Heya back atcha'. It has been forever. The baby is now 18 mos old. She is Dom's little sister. We got her when she was just 3 mos old and took her on the TA when she was just barely 6 mos. She had a blast.

She is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Wow...they grow fast. She grew right before my eyes. ;)

Todd even stayed "in character" while holding her...too funny.

he was great with her!!!!!! and totally in character the whole time and also when he was out of character. I have some great memories of that cruise.

OK... I know it's not directly related to the Baltic planning -- however it IS cruise related... ;)

NCL_star.jpg

OK...

... We're thinking of cancelling that NCL cruise for January 3rd of 2009. My sister is gonna cancel because my auntie (her cabin mate) needs surgery then... and my brother is cancelling because of an inability to secure vacation time then + other complications. Plus the 5th family that was ready to book also side stepped it. DRAT! So my Dad and I remain booked and we are the most flexible too.

So... I just noticed that SAME NCL voyage from LA to Mexico is $500 cheaper if we were to take it October 25th to Nov 1st. I know... that's in about 33 days from now ... but then again ... since it's underselling with little time to sel out ... that is precisely what makes it cheap. The NCL Star is quoted as $299 per person on 1st 2 inside. 3rd and 4th are $199. All told ... lowest price on 2 in an inside cabin is $997... and 4 would be $1650. Add a window for $200.

Alternatively, we could switch from the 91,000 ton STAR (2001 launched) to the Princess Sapphire at 113,000 tons (2004).. for $1,105 for 2 inside or $1667 for 4 inside. No quad windows are available to book. NCL has windows and great locations on the ship... while the Sapphire has very few cabins with far forward or aft only available. We'd select aft cabins and deal with the engine noises over the heaving forward region of the ship. Other differences betwwen these two ships inlcude the time in port. The Sapphire totals 27 hours and good early docking times. The NCL Star totals 30 hours but some later docking times. A "push" if ya ask me given our probable plans ashore.

We did not do the zip line or horse back riding inpart because we knew we were scheduled to return in January. And the party we were with was not committed to do those things. I'm hoping we get back there in October now so we can do the zip line and horse back ride. My Dad won't zip line but maybe my step mother will ... and both will do horse back riding (I hope).

At any rate... I know many of us just left these ports... however .... some of us might be interested in doing it again (more likely next year or further out). Just wait for last minute disounts like they are now, eh? $299 pp + $199 sound awful cheap if ya ask me.

Alicia is still chafing at wiping her calandar for that week though. SO we may NOT end up going after all. IF not then we just might cancel cruising entirely til... gee... I don't know when if not the DCL voyages we're waiting to consider this Oct 7th.

Hello all! :yay:

I too got that MouseSavers e-mail and it really got me excited about the upcoming announcement. Our family was just on the Mexican Riviera cruise from May 25-June 1 and we are all going through Disney withdrawal! The greatest thing for me is that by summer of 2010 my boys will be ages 6 and 4 so we can have even more fun than we did this summer (when they were 4 and 2). Yay no diapers! :thumbsup2

Sign me up for the Baltic! Not sure about a repo - doesn't really work in with our air travel but never say never ;)

Crash...if it makes a difference, I've found that on other cruise lines besides Disney, I prefer their smaller ships. They seem to have a more personal feel to them with their interaction between officers & crew and the passengers...and for some reason, seemed to me that the food was always better.

Working on fixing my pictures from the cruise all 1800+ of them... and just thought I'd stop by and say "Hello" :wave2:

Looks like we are a keen group of repeat pirates, and this time, I think Robert's Mum will also be joining us.

I floated the idea of this morning of Robert and his Mum going to the UK first to visit with Robert's sister, then all 4 of us do the last Baltic cruise, Robert and his Mum return home and my Mum and I continue for the repo. Response was pretty positive... I guess for now, we are a "definite maybe"!

Awww, she was, and IS, adorable! :) :)

things are bad at work they told us no more overtime until the new year. i work a lot of ot so i can pay for these cruises. i usually double my pay with the ot. hopefully next year will pick up. im defintely going to northern europe just might not make the repo hard to tell now. i will book the northern europe with points, than hopefully the repo will not be that much like in 2007. one good thing my house will be paid off in early 2010.
Here's hoping things get better next year! We're in the same situation- if Jeff doesn't get OT a lot of things get cut out including first and foremost the cruises and/or vacations. Like you said- his pay is about half without the OT and it's really hard when they say no more overtime. :( I hope it doesn't last long for you but that is a good thing that your house will be paid off soon! I wish ours would be paid off in 2010.... in my dreams! LOL We just bought the house late 2006.. so we have a lot longer than that to go. :scared1:
