Definitely!! I will probably have the boys wear one of their old DCL kids club shirts, so it will be easy to spot us.
It will be great to meet you all. I will wear either my Virginia Tech or Disney Vacation Club hat. We have at least a couple of hours ground time.

For anyone interested here is the 2010/2011 TV Show Scorecard

Also the fall show preview guide

Thank you soooooo much. The fall schedule is very helpful. I am leaving a list of the new shows for my DH to set up on the DVR since I can't do that till a week out. He's such a sweetie....giving me the trip and setting up the DVR, let's see what else does he have to do while I'm gone???!!!!

Judy

You are very welcome. We are using the schedule as well to set up both DVR's so we don't miss any shows.

yes, we've done the v, we've done the soaking in hot water, we've done the gentle separating of the skin, I think that's what has got him through all summer, but now he's just in a lot of constant pain

Oh dear I hope he gets this sorted soon!

Hi All

Here's a Cruise question i don't think we've discussed (so clearly it's not going to be about underwear ;) )

What 1 (NON Living) thing, do you (do you think you'll) miss most when you're on the ship for 14 days.???

NON living so no votes for family, friends and pets, as we'll all miss them...

SW

P.s. for me it'll be the Internet, as i'm such a www Junkie.

SW

I think I'm with you! Internet is a big miss for me!

Thanks, Noel, but the "Pirate Chef" is by the designer, Jon Wye. My son, Palmer, was Jon's intern for the summer and learned so much--he was involved in production, inventory, sales, marketing, and he even got to model. Palmer did get to design, but it won't appear on the website for a while. For a creative college kid, it was a great experience working with a young entrepreneur and it got my son thinking about a career outside the box.

I think it is very important for entrepreneur to mentor young interns. My DH mentored my nephew when he was younger. Rob now has a successful business called Viddler which is a friendly online video platform for professional and personal use

Maybe I should try it...once or twice a week, I have what I call "racing brain" and can't get to sleep--like right now at 2:00 am! I never felt that there were enough hours in the day for me...

Andrea

I am like that as well. This week I have been slowly switching over to East Coast time. This morning I was up at 4:00AM California time. Next week I am going to try to get as close to European time as I can as I suffer from extreme jet lag when I go East unless I do a gradual switchover.

Our flight leaves at 7:00PM on Sept 13 and arrives at 3:00PM in Frankfurt. I will try at least doze on the plane as I find it hard to sleep on airplane. My DH will sleep like a rock as he never has any trouble sleeping on airplanes.

We will have an early dinner with the family in Frankfurt. I hope then try to get to sleep by around 10:00PM as we have a 6:55AM flight first to Berlin, change planes and arrive in Barcelona at 11:20AM.

Our hope to clear customs in Barcelona in an hour, pickup up our Viatour tickets and take the shuttle to our hotel. I have prearranged with the concierge to either check in or drop off our bags depending on the room readiness. We hope to be sightseeing on the HOHO bus by 2PM or thereabouts.

None of these plans will come to fruition if I am unable to sleep. DH knows to keep an eye on me to be sure I don't wander off if I take the Ambien either on the plane or in the hotel!!

Probably the alarm going off at 5.30am NOT :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Anyway sorry we havent posted for a while but we do try to keep up with everyones news, both good and not so good. :grouphug: to those that are going through a rough spot. Well done to all the packers, we are hoping to look at that this weekend.
Welcome to everyone who have joined in the last couple of weeks since last posted,
We are Michael and Tricia (hotfudgesundae) using this trip to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary which we just celebrated on 31 Aug,
This trip seems to have come up quickly now, it does not seem like almost 2 years since we were trying to get into the DCL website on that first morning.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Barcelona, 2 weeks tomorrow we will be on our way :banana::banana:

Happy anniversary!!! See you on the Magic!!

Be sure to knock on the door and meet us. We are going to try to do a quick Barcelona tour after we arrive. So may miss the DIS meet. B

Oh forgot to say, I bought a long purple maxi dress for the Villains night. I didn't want anything too formal so went for a jersey type material and I'm pretty pleased with it! Also it's not too long so I can wear it with flat sandals...

What a beautiful dress Karen .... gorgeous :thumbsup2

I have a question. I am planning on cancelling my DCL excursion in Gibraltar and book it direct instead. They do offer a ticket that includes the dolphin watch trip and a return ticket for the cable car. I have been able to find out very little online about the lay of the land. Does anybody know how far the ferry port is from the cruise port? How far is the cable car station from the cruise port?

Corinna

I hope it's not far as we plan to walk to the town and the cable car station. Tony reckons it's not far and he used to be based there for a while when in the Navy. I will ask him exactly how long it takes when he gets home from work.

maybe we should just all make a pact to not worry about the wobbly bits and give up on the spanx?!:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

I think maybe we should .... a few of us have commented that the spanx or magic knockers didn't quite have the desired effect, and have sent them back. Maybe our expectations were just too high. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Lets embrace our wobbly bits !!!!!

We have a lovely sunny day here.......went for a wonderful swim first thing....I was the only person in the pool so loved it! :cloud9: I watched all the planes overhead as I swam, coming into Heathrow and wondered where they'd been.....:goodvibes

Is the pool outdoor .... or does it have a glass roof?

Mmm, I think it says a lot about our lives Noel!!!:lmao::eek:

Never had a stocked up fridge on DCL. It does look like they once were those type of cooler though. I bet nobody ever bought anything from them. I never ever have from any hotel that has had them in the room.

DD Samantha once when she was about two was our biggest culprit. We were staying at the Boston Harbor hotel on business. While her dad and I were sleeping, she took the key and opened the mini bar. We didn't find out until we were checking out and received a $96 bill for her "sampling"!! Needless to say from then on, the keys to any mini bar were well hidden.

Well our first cruise was the end of 2007, so maybe DCL did stock them at first.

I don't remember if they were stocked in 2005 but I don't think so???

We take Melatonin for jetlag, which is supposedly a natural thing. It works really well going eastwards. We can't buy it in the UK. We haven't tried it for going west as we always want to be up and raring to go when we first arrive.

Melatonin helps me relax but not sleep.

I have to try this out. I love avocado.

Well, I just made our listing for the flight back with Virgin Atlantic. Lets just say this is an hour of my life that I will never get back. Maybe I am too harsh on my guys for their call handling. Even my least efficient member of staff can get a listing done in about 10 minutes. Still, it is done and hopefully I get on the flight. If not there are other options as well like a later flight into Manchester and some flights into Gatwick with both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.

If its the same place we got the dolphin tour from its around a 5 min taxi ride. You go out of the port and turn left and its right there. Can't remember where the cable car was but I think this was in town which was about 20 min walk.

We love avacado! I alway take an avacado dip out on the boat, very yummy. Just a couple of avacado's, dash of lemon juice, a couple of tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce and blend. Really good with baked pita bread! :thumbsup2

If you like avocados, here are a couple of great websites for info and recipes.

Noel, It is meant to help with the pain, For me it not only eases the pain, but helps with the nausea as well. This website it just fantastic for before and after gallbladder advice - http://www.gallbladderattack.com/gallbladderdiet.shtml#beetrecipe
(sorry, don't know how to do those hot button thingy's)

Thank you for the website link. I think it has a lot of good information.

If you want to make a hot link, when you are in the post editor, just type the word you want to hot link and then make a copy of the web address. While you are in the posting editor, you will see a world sign with what looks like glasses under it. If you hover over it with your mouse, you will see it says "insert link;. When you click it, the click will bring up another window. Paste your link into the window. If you preview your post before you actually post it, you can check to be sure the link will work. Hope this helps.

DH says I go "crazy girl" cleaning the days before we go anywhere, have to come home to clean sheets, no washing / ironing and perfect floors, LOL :rotfl:

I am the same way!! We have a joke in our family that when I leave the house, there shall be no trash in the trash!! This time DD will be here and she knows that the house must be clean when I return. What is most important to me is a clean bedroom, a bed with clean sheet and an immaculate bathroom when I return!

I'm sure you don't NEED 2... But, believe me, there's nothing like it!!! :cloud9:

Great dress!!

Melatonin helps me relax but not sleep.

Well I guess it isn't actually a sleeping pill, but for resetting your body clock. They suggest taking it at your bedtime of where you are going to be travelling to for a few days before you travel. I think that is tough, even when we are returning from Florida as it would mean taking them at 5pm!!!:lmao: So, we just start taking them on the flight, or the day before, then for a few nights(up to a week) after we arrive home. We have asked a few Cabin Crew and they told us they take Melatonin.

Not sure how much I'll be getting on after this point. We'll be starting our vacation on Friday. So hope everyone has safe travels to Barcelona and we'll be seeing everyone in 2 weeks (give or take a few hours depending on when people get to the town and ship)

Jon

See you on the Magic!!!

Sorry you had such a dreadful time with the Virgin Atlantic staff. The USA calls to them I have made have been handled quite promptly and efficiently.

DH John and I are doing the Skywalk tour in Gibraltar. If this is the type of tour you are doing, Michael (Mdwoodman) posted a map and info that looks like it is an easy walk. Check this post for details.

It does help me relax but what I need to do is sleep. If I don't I can loose as much as three days before I can catch up to be normal. Last time DH,DD Samantha and I went to the UK, DD and I took about 3 days to catch up before we could sightsee. This time I am determined to figure out a way to sleep so I don't loose the first three days of this trip!!

DH says I go "crazy girl" cleaning the days before we go anywhere, have to come home to clean sheets, no washing / ironing and perfect floors, LOL :rotfl:

I'm the same way. I hate coming home to a dirty house, especially since I almost always come home from vacation with:laundy: to do. I always make sure the house is spicnspan before leaving. Maybe, I'll be so tired from cleaning that I will have no trouble sleeping on the flight over.

It will be great to meet you all. I will wear either my Virginia Tech or Disney Vacation Club hat. We have at least a couple of hours ground time.

We have almost 4 hours of layover, part of which will be spent with DS doing :teacher:.
