:welcome: to all of the newcomers to this board. :) I have been only able to read posts :surfweb:, two days a week, for the last month, now. Sorry, but I haven’t even tried to catch up. I have been a volunteer host at a campground, where there is no TV, internet, or cell phone service :scared1:. I have just five more nights , this Thursday, Sept 2 to Tuesday, Sept 7, before I am done at the campground, and ready for final packing and last minute details. Then I will be able to read more posts.

As I haven’t been posting recently and for the newcomers:

My name is Tim. I retired in 2008, after 25 years with the City of Sparks(Next to Reno), NV.

My wife worked for a Non-Profit as an advocate for kids and families with special needs.

We moved to Roseburg, OR, one year ago and we love it . I also volunteer at the local library.

Our daughter and her two children live with us (grandkids: girl 6 years old, boy 4 years old). My wife, Kathy works at Michaels (Craft Store) part time.

We are both big Disney fans and our four adult children grew up with many trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Kathy and I have cruised twice before with Disney, and as well as cruises with Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Norwegian Cruise Line.

Our bags are half packed :dance3:and we have many lists of things to do before we leave for Barcelona on Sept 13th. We are getting there.
Kathy is almost finished working on pirate costumes.pirate:

To all you B2Bers: Happy Sails :boat:, we can’t wait to hear about your Med Cruise Ports of Call.

I can't believe that in 12 days we will start our trip to Barcelona.:woohoo:

For those of you with iPads you might be interested in this app. It's called Hurricane HD for 3.99. I think it's a cool one.

Not much longer now!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

Thank you soooooo much. The fall schedule is very helpful. I am leaving a list of the new shows for my DH to set up on the DVR since I can't do that till a week out. He's such a sweetie....giving me the trip and setting up the DVR, let's see what else does he have to do while I'm gone???!!!!

:lmao: When you are dieting the tiniest naughty thing can be lush. Just the thinnest chocolate coating on a diet bar can make all the difference.:rolleyes1
Heck, even fruit sald taste good when your dieting...
Hi All

Here's a Cruise question i don't think we've discussed (so clearly it's not going to be about underwear ;) )

What 1 (NON Living) thing, do you (do you think you'll) miss most when you're on the ship for 14 days.???

NON living so no votes for family, friends and pets, as we'll all miss them...

SW

P.s. for me it'll be the Internet, as i'm such a www Junkie.

SW
Definatly my cottage, It is has and continues to be a great comfort to me, I miss it so much when Im away, even at work for the weekend.
this is awful...but TV. (I won't miss internet because I always buckle down and just buy the internet package so I can stay connected :lmao:)....but TV I will miss....we watch a lot of TV...or, I should say, we DVR a LOT of TV. It's awful to confess this since watching too much TV is so demonized in our culture but I am a total TV junkie. Here is just an assortment of the shows that we DVR on a weekly basis throughout the year:

Project Runway
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List
Top Chef
Top Design
Shear Genius
Eureka
Merlin
Smallville
Desperate Housewives
Brothers & Sisters
The Gates
Make it or Break it
American Idol
So You Think You Can Dance
America's Next Top Model
Design Star
Next Food Network Star
True Blood
The Vampire Diaries
Food Channel Challenge (where they compete making cakes...LOVE THAT)
Drop Dead Diva

And probably about half the shows we watch regularly....the ones I can think of right now....we used to be obsessed with a bunch of shows that are off the air now, too like: Pushing Daisies, Heroes, Lost, Dirty Sexy Money, Ugly Betty, Kyle XY, all the Sci-Fi network shows like the Stargate Series of shows, Battlestar Galactica, Sanctuary, etc.

So being on the ship there's always a ton of TV we miss....and I"m sure our poor DVR won't be able to hold everything for such a long trip! LOL
You definatly like tv,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I NEVER watch tv, alhtough last night I watched a docu about climbing the north face of the Eiger....
excting eh?:rotfl:
I can't believe it was that simple. Had the 'discussion' with the school today and I am still in shock. I walked in and asked who I needed to speak to about getting independent study for my son. I was directed to the attendance office where I was asked if he was gone already or was this a future trip. I gave her our departure date and she just shrugged and said to have him come talk to her next week. She'll give him a form to fill out, she'll pass it around to his teachers, and then he turns in his work when he gets back. No questions about where we were going, why I was taking him out of school, how long it would be, nothing! His coaches gave us more grief than the attendance office did.

Thanks for all the comments on the toe. We will go through with the procedure, we're just hoping that they can get us in before the trip. DS is already missing 3 games due to the trip and I'd hate for him to have to miss any more once we get back.
good.. good
I was digging around in my jar of "phoney money" and found three Euros....SCORE!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Paul

Youre in the money, your in the money(I sang that)

Im NOT in the money, last night I dropped my new posh phone, after buying new memory and loading all my stuff in it, twice in my life ive lost phones, once in Switzerland, and the extremes the folks went to to get it back to me, take it to the bus, bus driver dropped it in to hotel reception...:love:switzerland,
this phone I drop 2 mins from home and someone picked it up and kept it, it was engaged for 30 mins after I lost it then switched off, it had lots of credit and battery in it. Scotland can be a real dissapointment sometimes, and then I think of all the phones Ive returned to folks:confused3.
Anyway, it could have been worse, could have been one of the beagles I lost:dance3:

Love the pirate shirt with your son's design!! You certainly have a talented designer in your family!!

Thanks, Noel, but the "Pirate Chef" is by the designer, Jon Wye. My son, Palmer, was Jon's intern for the summer and learned so much--he was involved in production, inventory, sales, marketing, and he even got to model. Palmer did get to design, but it won't appear on the website for a while. For a creative college kid, it was a great experience working with a young entrepreneur and it got my son thinking about a career outside the box.

Also, thanks for the link! I loved the pirate shirt. The mention of The Limelight brought back memories of the late 80's in NYC when we used to go there - when I was 19 - ummm 21! Yes, 21!! What a great little shop - looked at everything - thanks for sharing!

Sandi, you hung out at the Limelight in the 80s :cool1: Wow! I didn't think anyone REMEMBERED hanging out at the Limelight in the 80s!

I only have it in case that I can not sleep.

Maybe I should try it...once or twice a week, I have what I call "racing brain" and can't get to sleep--like right now at 2:00 am! I never felt that there were enough hours in the day for me...

Andrea

The JC Penneys in Tanforan is pretty good, as good as or better then most Pennys, two floors, has everything but sales staff but that seems to be a problem at most stores now. There is also a Sears at Tanforan which is on par with Penneys. val

Thanks, Val, went to Tanforan and Stonestown today. Did MAJOR damage! Like I really needed a pirate's watch, but they had it, so HAD to have it!

What 1 (NON Living) thing, do you (do you think you'll) miss most when you're on the ship for 14 days.???

Robert said his bike - he's just got back from a very muddy ride up the hills.

Me, I'll miss my Macbook/Internet. Sometimes also a change of clothing - I get pretty fed up quickly with the ones I take with me.

This time in two weeks, we will be "going to the fountains tonight".

Mum leaves on Monday so its going to be a busy few days. I'm again working this weekend on a project so not sure if I will have any time off this weekend and have heaps to do but really can't be bothered.

I'm working on getting all my paperwork together, every time I think I've got copies of everything, I think of something else I need!

Probably the alarm going off at 5.30am NOT :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Anyway sorry we havent posted for a while but we do try to keep up with everyones news, both good and not so good. :grouphug: to those that are going through a rough spot. Well done to all the packers, we are hoping to look at that this weekend.
Welcome to everyone who have joined in the last couple of weeks since last posted,
We are Michael and Tricia (hotfudgesundae) using this trip to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary which we just celebrated on 31 Aug,
This trip seems to have come up quickly now, it does not seem like almost 2 years since we were trying to get into the DCL website on that first morning.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Barcelona, 2 weeks tomorrow we will be on our way :banana::banana:

I vote also for the internet!!

Mmm, I think it says a lot about our lives Noel!!!:lmao::eek:

There is a "mini-bar" style fridge. It comes fully loaded but with quite a mark-up! We always pull the cans of soda, beer, and juice and the miniature bottles out, put them in a cabinet, and tell the room steward what we've done and to NOT replace them. Then we have the use of the fridge for the voyage.

Because of the type of fridge, it doesn't get real cold. On one cruise it was so bad that we talked to the Purser; they replaced it with a brand new one that worked just fine.

Never had a stocked up fridge on DCL. It does look like they once were those type of cooler though. I bet nobody ever bought anything from them. I never ever have from any hotel that has had them in the room.

I hope I'm not confusing cruise lines :confused3 ; our last DCL cruise was in 2006. So, maybe they've changed or else I'm totally confused about that. :rolleyes1

Well our first cruise was the end of 2007, so maybe DCL did stock them at first.

I think that I will miss my "man throne". When I had my house built I had a nice comfy one installed. The ones on the ship scare me. I'm afraid they might go off and suck me in!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Paul

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Anyone here know anything about Pine Bark Extract, and does anyone have any recommendations for or against it? I was reading an article recently that said it was effective for combating jetlag because it has antiinflammatory properties that keeps you from swelling, which cuts back on the *brain fog* you get while travelling. I was wondering if it was worthwhile trying or not.

Most hotels I stay at these day have the new electronic minibar, which means you can't even move something without getting charged for it.

We take Melatonin for jetlag, which is supposedly a natural thing. It works really well going eastwards. We can't buy it in the UK. We haven't tried it for going west as we always want to be up and raring to go when we first arrive!!!;)

You poor sick puppy! val

I know.

I was digging around in my jar of "phoney money" and found three Euros....SCORE!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Paul

Every little helps, especially in Euroland!

OK, I officially sick. Got meds today, just took my cocktail (shot of tequila, benadryl and chase it all with some Nyquil) and going to bed (sure this is not good for me but usually feel good the next day).

Get better really soon.

When we sailed last November they had them for sale but did not give them away. I hope this has changed...

I was sure I read they had stopped giving them out, hence my question. But it looks like they are now anyway.

We got them on the EBTA in April - I have pictures on my facebook with them being put on by our servers.

Krisann

Thanks Krissan.

Good morning ..... we leave for Barclona in 2 weeks :woohoo: in fact 2 weeks from now we will be on the train to Liverpool Airport :yay: Yesterday in work I managed to juggle some shifts around and I now have my last shift on Tuesday next week, instead of Friday :woohoo: Only 4 shifts to go now :thumbsup2 The main benefit of this is that when I finish work I won't be exposed to any germs from my colleagues ... yesterday one of them had a really sore throat and a cold .. I kept telling her to go home because I was so wary of going anywhere near her.

Oh no ... what a total pain .... I just can't believe some people.:mad:

As my last official duty before we sail to worlds end (there be many unofficial duties yet to accomplish...:lmao::lmao:)

I Give you Pt 10 of the cruise Thread !!!!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2546512

Remember , do not post here until the Mods have closed this one ....Those that need to post information , Please do so now .... I did this a lil bit early as to hope they keep this one open a lil longer so we dont blow through pt 10 before we sail ....

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!

pirate:

GIVE NOTHING BACK !!!!

You guys must be sooooooo excited :yay::yay:

Well said. I feel so cheap when I swoon at a weight watchers imitation ice cream bar. I also find myself smelling chocolate. val

I do that all the time .. particularly in work. Sometimes the smell will be enough to satisfy a craving.

Pins

Great news about the pins.

They did arrive today at my home, and my husband (Patrick) and i think they look great. I was a bit nervous of how they will look when they were ready.
But we're very happy whit the pins.

I will try to put a photo on the board on thursday.
But before i will post it on this board i will send a picture to Noel and John because they did help me. And John did make something special???

Connie

Look forward to seeing the pins and how they turned out :yay:

NON living so no votes for family, friends and pets, as we'll all miss them...

SW

I really don't know the answer .... apart from my family, friends, my mother's dog and the neighbour's cat I don't really thing I will miss anything. I will enjoy a break from technology, I don't watch much TV and don't follow anything particular, I won't miss being at home because it is such an almighty mess at the moment waiting to start building work next year. I can honestly say I won't miss anything non-living. :confused3:confused3

good luck with the slim fast, I cant drink gloopy things, milkshakes or that, yuk, I think it was cause I was sick lots a a youngster? anyway, cant wait to hear how you get on..

I survived day one although my work colleagues said I was a total nightmare. I had a banana shake for brekky, a strawberry shake for lunch with two snacks of a banana and some grapefruit. I had a chicken and couscous salad for evening meal and then some melon slices. That was it ... total !!

The milkshakes are actually really nice :thumbsup2 I am blending the banana one with ice and it comes out like a McDonalds shake ( well I can pretend can't I ) !!!

Found a website where we can follow the hurricane activity that might impact our cruise. http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/hurricane.cfm

Rene

Think I will give this website a miss ..... will leave it up to the Captain to worry about the location of hurricanes. I have enough to be worrying about .... diet, avoiding germs, packing issues, finding shoes, finishing gifts, etc etc

No. The Drink of the Day is not worth it. You can have just as much fun with the mocktails. There will be plenty of us doing that.
Awesome! ;)

Well flaxseed oil is good for cholesterol levels too and that was getting highr despite the low fat diet!!;) I have some olive oil to finish up and then I will use that. I had forgotten about avacado so must get one. Thanks.

We love avacado! I alway take an avacado dip out on the boat, very yummy. Just a couple of avacado's, dash of lemon juice, a couple of tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce and blend. Really good with baked pita bread! :thumbsup2

Well I plucked up courage to go and try on Marks and Spencer's version of the high waisted Spanx. More comfortable than I expected, though I didn't go too small a size. Not sure it held me in much, but it did smooth everywhere. However, 2 problems. I have slim legs(in relation to my body), and the legs were a little loose. Not an elegant look, but then again the whole thing isn't what you would call elegant!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: but it wasn't a good look for sure.;) The other thing is that even though I pulled it up under my bra, or pulled the bra down a bit, it must have kept slipping, and there was a bit of a ridge of bare flesh that kind of protruded a little. Not sure how that would pan out over the evening. I can hardly keep pulling it up can I? So, I didn't buy them. Now I'm not sure what to do.

By the sounds of it you don't need them for your legs, so I would just by the high waisted panties, like these - http://www.spanx.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2990097&cp=2992555.3010053&parentPage=family
Just my thoughts......

Last night I posted a new blog on our blog that has a picture of our main door magnet. I'm pretty proud of it. It's designed to go AROUND the circular stateroom number that is on your door and turn it into a "hidden mickey" and then it extends below and has a space/frame that is about 5" square. We've created 24 separate smaller magnets and every day the new "magnet of the day" will be going in that space so that magnet changes on a daily basis to reflect where we are or what we're doing that day! And then when the day is over, we'll move the old magnet to the bottom of the door and replace it with the next magnet----so by the end of the cruise we should have a magnet for all 24 days of our cruise (except disembarkation day) on our door! Since we're so close to the laundry you'll all have to check it out while you're waiting for your mentionables, unmentionables and spanx to dry!

Your magnet is so groovy! Mine are kind of embarrassing, everyone remember I am a first time cruiser, I'll step it up next time, I promise :rolleyes1

Does the combination of flaxseed oil, fresh lemon juice and beetroot help with digestion or what exactly is it helping with the pancreas? I am very interested in natural remedies.
Noel, It is meant to help with the pain, For me it not only eases the pain, but helps with the nausea as well. This website it just fantastic for before and after gallbladder advice - http://www.gallbladderattack.com/gallbladderdiet.shtml#beetrecipe
(sorry, don't know how to do those hot button thingy's)

Marilyn, I hope you get feeling better soon! Our son is having similar problems. He had his gallbladder removed earlier this year after a severe bout of pancreatitis. He went to the doctor for a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago and they did some bloodwork as well. He was just notified that there were some labs not quite right and they want to do an mri of the pancreas just to be sure all is well. Such a worrry...

P & PD for your son, I hope everything is OK.

I used to sneak into the store cupboard and eat the cheapest cooking chocolate just to actually taste something chocolatey!!! Years ago that stuff was nasty, but it did the trick!!!

I have been known to eat 100's & 1000's out of the packet....:rolleyes1

What 1 (NON Living) thing, do you (do you think you'll) miss most when you're on the ship for 14 days.???
Besides my bed..........My wardrobe, I love my clothes and accessories, and I have to live out of 1 suitcase for a month, arghhh!!!! :scared1:

For me, it has to be our bed... :cloud9: I have such a dodgy back (after damaging both hip ligaments a few years ago) that I am very dependent on our customised sleeping space. We have a latex mattress with two feather beds on top and high thread count bed linen... Bliss...
Snap, love our latex bed with just 1 feather top, Do I need 2? Maybe I do.....:rolleyes1

because when we opened the cooler to put in our bottles of water there was a half full glass of milk in there...that had gone so bad that the milk had turned basically to a jello-like sludge and smelled rotten as all get out! :rotfl2: Our host was so horrified I thought he was gonna jump right off the veranda he was apologizing so much!

One word - EW!!!

I was digging around in my jar of "phoney money" and found three Euros....SCORE!!!

Paul
YAY, you can buy half a coffee! :lmao:

I have packed and repacked 5 times, and now think I am done! I can spend the next week cleaning and organizing the house. I love to come home to a clean house after a long trip.

DH says I go "crazy girl" cleaning the days before we go anywhere, have to come home to clean sheets, no washing / ironing and perfect floors, LOL :rotfl:

Im NOT in the money, last night I dropped my new posh phone, after buying new memory and loading all my stuff in it, twice in my life ive lost phones, once in Switzerland, and the extremes the folks went to to get it back to me, take it to the bus, bus driver dropped it in to hotel reception...:love:switzerland,

Judy
Your DH sounds like mine, Judy!!! :lovestruc This cruise was his idea - a way of getting me out of the house for a while as we're having horrible building works done to our home. Unfortunately, he's just started a new job, and can't join me, so he'll definitely be setting up the DVR whilst I'm away!!! :teeth:

That's a shame, Lynne. :sad2: Tho' like you say, it coulda been one of your doglets...

Never had a stocked up fridge on DCL. It does look like they once were those type of cooler though. I bet nobody ever bought anything from them. I never ever have from any hotel that has had them in the room.
We've never had a stocked fridge on DCL either.

One of the biggest vacation treats for our kids when they were young was to let them choose something out of the hotel minibar! Of course it cost over the odds but, in the big scheme of things, 2 chilled sodas still wasn't that much and they never enjoyed a can of Coke more... ;)

I was sure I read they had stopped giving them out, hence my question. But it looks like they are now anyway.
I have a plethora of bandanas - I'll bring a couple just in case... pirate:

...I won't miss being at home because it is such an almighy mess at the moment waiting to start building work next year.
I know how that feels... :sad1:

I survived day one although my work colleagues said I was a total nightmare. I had a banan shake for brekky, a strawberry shake for lunch with two snacks of a banana and some grapefruit. I had a chicken and couscous salad for evening meal and then some melon slices. That was it ... total !!

Sounds good, Sarah - best of luck! :thumbsup2

I'm sure you don't NEED 2... But, believe me, there's nothing like it!!! :cloud9:

Oh forgot to say, I bought a long purple maxi dress for the Villains night. I didn't want anything too formal so went for a jersey type material and I'm pretty pleased with it! Also it's not too long so I can wear it with flat sandals...

I must try that dip, thanks.

The only problem with the panty kind are the legs showing through clothing. Those seem not to have a ridge, so I will look into seeing if I can get them here.

I think I have eaten them too, plus any of the little sweet cake decorations.

Hello. We are the only Spanish family of the trip. Our knowledge of the English language is very limited, but if you need some information of Barcelona I will be charmed with of providing it. Do anyone of yours speak spanish?

Welcome to the group. I am Jon and my DW is Candida. We live in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada which is near Niagara Falls. This will be our 2nd DCL. Looking forward to meeting you onboard.

The last six days have been a whirlwind and haze. One of my friends, Becky, for the past 27 years was told last week she had two days to live. They found she had pancreatic cancer after they believed she just had a kidney stone. She had better predictions a few days before that, to the point that she would go home and start chemo that would prolong her life for about a year. Not sure if she had really even decided to move forward on that plan or not. Everything just changed SO fast. I'm thankful that three other friends and I got to be with her all of her last day on Earth on Saturday. So for those who believe, please pray for her mom who's now lost her soul mate and her first born. They are an extremely close family, and anywhere you saw Becky, her mom was with her. Parents just shouldn't have to watch their children come in and out of the world. I'm getting ready to head back to my hometown for calling hours tonight and her funeral tomorrow, so her family really needs some extra strength in the next 24 hours and beyond.

Then....I have to get back home for Lisa's memorial on Thursday. She's the one who I told you drowned in the Atlantic on August 15. I highly encourage all of you to "Like" the group "Shea It Forward" (like pay-it-forward) on Facebook in honor of her. Share random acts of kindness that you've given out or received. It's so enriching to see how wonderfully selfless people can be.

:hug:Sorry to hear this:hug:

Sandi just called me with WONDERFUL NEWS. Her tests today showed everything is good. We are going to have a great cruise.

Kimberly, I am so sorry, my thoughts are with you and your family....

I feel bad now saying that I had hosp appt today....

, had scan today, all ok, dr felt something on my r kidney, but scan says normal abnormalty, a relief, all my "woman bit" are normal
what a relief, I celebrated my going to debenhams and buying a full length ball gown for villains night, Happy Days.

YEAH! Thanks to my MIL, Goofy Granny to post my results. I was so happy that I hugged the technician and radiologist!!! They told me to have a wonderful cruise and not be stressed. Glad to hear about your tests too Lynn. What a relief it is and thank you everyone for your prayers.

We went to see Dennis' opthomologist this morning and he said it was a "perfect transplanted lens!" :dance3: Good news from Montana too! :)

In 15 days I will be on a plane to Barcelona. I sure hope I have the stamina and energy for this trip. I am feeling better but tire very easily. I go back to the doctor next Wednesday for my follow up, so hopefully I will have the approval to go.

I just realised ......

WE ARE GOING ON THE WBTA DISNEY MAGIC CRUISE THIS MONTH !!!!!!!!

Yes .... after almost 2 years since we booked we have finally reached September 2010 !!! I am really having to pinch myself here :rotfl2:

Starting the Slimfast diet today .... combined with a 12 hour shift on the post-natal ward .... might not be a good combination  I am just off to make my first milkshake for breakfast!

2 weeks tomorrow we will be leaving :woohoo::scared1::woohoo::scared1:

:banana::banana:

We are Barry and Teresa from Alabama, traveling with DS Andrew (23) and with all of you. Sorry we are too late to join in most of your activities, but we hope to meet many of you on the cruise. We are in room 8042 and on second dining. Have decided to forgo formal nights this trip as it is too much to carry the extra clothing (we have to bring the pirate stuff of course). We are on the flight leaving Atlanta on the 17th arriving on the 18th in Barcelona. Hope to get a quick tour of the city before the cruise. This is my 7th Disney cruise and 7 days never seemed like enough. Will be interesting to see how 14 days will be. I hope everyone has a safe and uneventful trip to Barcelona. See you on the cruise. :mickeyjum

Welcome to the group.

Well we're counting HOURS now before we head to the airport to begin our vacation!! (28.5 hours to be exact...in case anyone wanted to know! :cool1:)

35 hours before our flight takes off. I am working for 12 of those hours :sad2:

As my last official duty before we sail to worlds end (there be many unofficial duties yet to accomplish...:lmao::lmao:)

I Give you Pt 10 of the cruise Thread !!!!

Remember , do not post here until the Mods have closed this one ....Those that need to post information , Please do so now .... I did this a lil bit early as to hope they keep this one open a lil longer so we dont blow through pt 10 before we sail ....

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!

pirate:

Give nothing back!!! See you in a couple weeks.

Connie

Can't wait to get them.

Not sure how much I'll be getting on after this point. We'll be starting our vacation on Friday. So hope everyone has safe travels to Barcelona and we'll be seeing everyone in 2 weeks (give or take a few hours depending on when people get to the town and ship)

We love avacado! I alway take an avacado dip out on the boat, very yummy. Just a couple of avacado's, dash of lemon juice, a couple of tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce and blend. Really good with baked pita bread! :thumbsup2

I have to try this out. I love avocado.

Well, I just made our listing for the flight back with Virgin Atlantic. Lets just say this is an hour of my life that I will never get back. Maybe I am too harsh on my guys for their call handling. Even my least efficient member of staff can get a listing done in about 10 minutes. Still, it is done and hopefully I get on the flight. If not there are other options as well like a later flight into Manchester and some flights into Gatwick with both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.

I have a question. I am planning on cancelling my DCL excursion in Gibraltar and book it direct instead. They do offer a ticket that includes the dolphin watch trip and a return ticket for the cable car. I have been able to find out very little online about the lay of the land. Does anybody know how far the ferry port is from the cruise port? How far is the cable car station from the cruise port?

Speaking of House Party leftovers, I have some recipie cards left if anyone needs to know how to make a Konk Kooler, Palo Souffle (and white sauce) or some appetizer dish. I don't have very many left, but probably have 4-5 or so of each one. Post here (since my PM box is full) if you want me to try to bring one.

We would love the recipe card for the Palo Souffle if you don't mind. It seems a shame for you to have to bring it to the ship when we only live about 20 miles apart. Maybe we can work something else out.

I had the same issue with the Gok Wan thing I ordered. Ended up sending back. I've got some QVC spanx Ill have to wear but I think these are just gonna make Dan laugh as theyll take 20 mins to put on lol!

maybe we should just all make a pact to not worry about the wobbly bits and give up on the spanx?!:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Marilyn, I hope you get feeling better soon! Our son is having similar problems. He had his gallbladder removed earlier this year after a severe bout of pancreatitis. He went to the doctor for a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago and they did some bloodwork as well. He was just notified that there were some labs not quite right and they want to do an mri of the pancreas just to be sure all is well. Such a worrry...

Hope he's ok soon Angie, we never stopp worrying about them do we?

I used to sneak into the store cupboard and eat the cheapest cooking chocolate just to actually taste something chocolatey!!! Years ago that stuff was nasty, but it did the trick!!!

Oooooh, I've done that too!:rolleyes1

Thank you for organising this Connie (with Noel too), they sound great!:woohoo:

SW

That's hard........either my phone, laptop, or all the new TV series that will probably start while we're away.........:rolleyes1:guilty:

:littleangel:

Today our local airport had its first A380 arriving. The airline that I work for now operates one of our two daily services between Manchester and Dubai with an A380. We had to drive past the airport to get to work and the roads were absolutely jammed. It took us over an hour to get to work. Normally it takes us between 25 and 30 minutes. I am normally never late, but today we were late. Still, at least I can say that it is our aircraft that made us late. To add insult to injury, we did not even see the aircraft land. Maybe we will have better luck tomorrow. We drive past the airport all week around the time that it is due to land.

Corinna

Would like to see that Corinna!:thumbsup2

I think that I will miss my "man throne". When I had my house built I had a nice comfy one installed. The ones on the ship scare me. I'm afraid they might go off and suck me in!:scared1::scared1:

Paul

sorry ahd to laugh at this Paul!!!:thumbsup2:rotfl:

That's us. Our little suburb has made the news! My husband has lived in Simpsonville for 35 years now and he still calls it "God's Country!" We are close to everything-we are 2 hours from the Asheville, North Carolina mountain area and 3 hours from the Charleston, South Carolina beach area. Living and housing prices are reasonable. Crime is relatively low, and best of all The Ellis family lives here. :cutie:

Sounds like a lovely place to live!:goodvibes

Oh no!!!! That's rotten Lynne!!!:sad2:

Good news!!!:woohoo:

Your DH sounds like mine, Judy!!! :lovestruc This cruise was his idea - a way of getting me out of the house for a while as we're having horrible building works done to our home. Unfortunately, he's just started a new job, and can't join me, so he'll definitely be setting up the DVR whilst I'm away!!! :teeth:

Any idea when Bones and CI are set to start over here Kaz?:rolleyes1:thumbsup2

Oh forgot to say, I bought a long purple maxi dress for the Villains night. I didn't want anything too formal so went for a jersey type material and I'm pretty pleased with it! Also it's not too long so I can wear it with flat sandals...

Thats a lovely dress Kaz, look forward to seeing you in it :thumbsup2

Happy Travels Jon & family.....see you soon!:dance3:

We have a lovely sunny day here.......went for a wonderful swim first thing....I was the only person in the pool so loved it! :cloud9: I watched all the planes overhead as I swam, coming into Heathrow and wondered where they'd been.....:goodvibes

Just waiting for dd to get ready so I can take her out for lunch :) Somewhere by the river I think, it'll be nice to sit outside today :cool2:

Have a good day everyone, whatever your plans :grouphug:
