Awesome news - although I wasn't worried. You would have been on that plane one way or another. If we all had to boycott outside your govt's offices. :teeth:

Yes it is !!!

Yes Very close considering we leave in 11 Days to Barcelona , and yes , I will be on the hunt for some good cubans ....lol

pirate:

And, you can now bring them in can't you? ;)

This happened as we were leaving for the 5 night cruise in Sept 2008. They called and he made the mistake of answering the phone but quickly said we were already in the airport....just a little white lie! We were not there yet!!

I am praying and crossing everything I can in hopes that no storms develop right before we leave.

Well, you were GOING to be in the airport so you should feel no guilt, just like some of us will be at the Vatican - so technically, not a lie either. LOL :rotfl2:

The strength of a refrigerator magnet (very similar to the types of magnets used for door decorations) is about 50 gauss (measured at the surface). If you measure 1 foot away, it drops to .001 gauss, at 7 feet (the air shipping requirement), it drops to virtually 0.

So, unless you are putting up your door decorations with a 1" X 1" X 3" neodymium-iron-boron magnet, you'll be fine!

OK - All I understood was - door magnets are good to go. :thumbsup2

Do you think it's doable for a novice public transportation user that doesn't speak Spanish?:confused3

Definitely. The stops are well marked and most Spaniards in the service industry speak at least a little English. What hotel are you staying in? I could send along the metro info with stops and the train info with times and stops.

I was going to respond when I realized you got an answer already. But if it makes you feel any better, when we went in 2007, we found the tickets in Plaza Catalunya station. So easy. You won't miss it.

I have to get my car inspected tomorrow...keep your fingers crossed that I don't need brakes! I've had the car for 8 years and I do believe I've gone through 8 sets of brake! :lmao:
there crossed
He will be touched that you asked. :goodvibes
His cold is getting better, his cataract worse by the day but only 5 more days to surgery. Today we were at Costco and he ate a sample of a sandwich (it was good by the way!) and some mayonaise dripped off. A bit later he said to me "people have dripped mayonaise all over the floor! We'd better get someone to clean it up." I looked and it was nails in the concrete floor not mayonaise!! :lmao::rotfl2: Now I did not know about his dribble incident at the time he said this and I was :confused3:confused::confused3 where'd he come up with mayonaise? :rotfl: I just laughed and laughed. His sight is that bad! :sad2: Everything is blurred and has a "halo". He's grumpy too...he did not see the humor in the situation that I did!

He is amazing! :thumbsup2

Poor dennis, no wonder he is grumpy, you laughing at him.

Thanks everyone so much for you kind words about my furbaby. I really appreciate them and it eases the pain. The house is a little empty today but we will get used to it in time. At least I can now leave leftovers on the bench without him getting stuck into them!

Okay if you havent guessed , All Visa's have been obtained ...we can now say Officially we are going on VACATION >>>>>wahooooo
:

Thank goodness!

Her GP has suggested changing meds and recommended she's not well enough to take exams at present and should be allowed to retake her second year at Uni. The Faculty don't meet until end of September, just before term starts ......while we're away of course.....so we won't know til then if they agree. :guilty:

Sorry to hear you and your daughter are having a rough time. Depression is a horrible illness. :grouphug:

So, unless you are putting up your door decorations with a 1" X 1" X 3" neodymium-iron-boron magnet, you'll be fine!

That'd stop the little turds stealing them though :rotfl2:

So many posts after just a day or so away!

I've been with dd in Bristol as she's not been too good lately. :sad1:

My daughter just ended her 8 month stint as a college program cast member. She and all her friends were so sad about it all ending. (Can't feel too sorry, as she is off to Hawaii to continue college!) They had the time of their lives. She got red roses from one of them today, and a couple of others drove up from Orlando to visit for a couple of days. I wish I could've had that experience as a college student. So jealous, but happy for her. She's now seasonal and will work when she is off school.

Thats cool! Glad she enjoyed it!

WOW

I have not been around for a bit and you have not pnly started another thread, but you are almost 90 pages in. Geesh.

DSis' vow renewal got moved tot he 21st at 4 pm. We are doing the beading class from 2 to 3. Hope we will not be to rushed.

Otherwise we are still on target.

Im sure it will be fine! Fingers crossed!

So true!! ::yes::

'CustardTart' is a cool name. Just sayin'. : )
Why thank you...

Hmmmm custard yummmm
:scared1:

Thank you for your kind words. My sister and I were at the doctor for almost 2 hours today. After discussing everything with the PA, she went and talked our our regular MD. Together they decided on a couple of things. One of them was to start a daily injection of Victoza to try to help with the weight gain. I'm really hoping it works because I'm tried of trying to lose weight and seeing the scale go up and up. I'm going to take the first inject tomorrow morning, so keep your fingers crossed!

I see that we now have Tropical Storm Earl......Please send up prayers that NO HURRICANES will be in the Gulf headed for the Mississippi, Louisiana or Alabama coast the few days before I leave on Sept. 16. My DH is a fireman for the City of Biloxi (which was leveled by Hurricane Katrina 5 yrs ago on Aug 29) and they can cancel all vacation time if a Hurricane is headed to our area....They do not care how much the trip cost or how much planning has been put into it!!!

This is my biggest fear. His last day to work before the cruise is Sept. 12. So If he can get away from his station the morning of Sept 13, we will be ok because he will not answer his phone after that.....as far as they know, we will be gone!

This happened as we were leaving for the 5 night cruise in Sept 2008. They called and he made the mistake of answering the phone but quickly said we were already in the airport....just a little white lie! We were not there yet!!

P&PD for no hurricanes!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

And I have to agree, there are loads of Friends of Tinker Bell on this cruise - thank you one and all for your assistance, time and effort. :worship:
Well said, Lyn!!! Thank you everyone - much appreciated...

More wonderful news - and something to look forward to AFTER the trip... :goodvibes

Glad she had such a fab experience - tho' TBH I would be a little jealous too... :teeth:

:blush: Just been back to Marks and Spencer.

I took a skirt back I had bought a couple of weeks ago and then picked the same skirt up in the sale for £13 less. I like it when that happens.:) So I then went and bought 2 pairs of shoes. I have gone from no black wedges to having 3 pairs. But, one pair will be going back.:lmao: Goodness me, I could have bought so many pairs of shoes. The clothing racks were still quiet too, but I decided I had better not look there.:rotfl2:

Makes me feel better about not getting a long formal gown as I will get more wear out of my sale clothes and shoes than the gown. And, who looks at me anyway!!! So many other more gorgeous gals(and guys too) to look at!!

Not to start anyone worrying, but I just read the funniest thing involving what could go wrong on flight day. "According to China Daily, an unidentified flying object that appeared above China's Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport disrupted a total of 18 flights this July. The U.F.O., which has still not been identified as of this writing, hovered in the air above Hangzhou City, causing all inbound and outbound flights to be delayed for several hours."
