Luckily we are flying back Virgin into Gatwick so shouldn't have an issue if we cancel BA!

We are flying back Virgin Miami to Heathrow as we got reward seats, and our car should be there too!! Of course if we end up flying from Leeds, we have to find another way to get home. Possible a one way car hire.

I'm just hoping the BAA issues are sorted by then with it being Heathrow.

:laughing:I think we would be a naughty combination, add Marilyn and we would be thrown of the ship:rotfl:

Have you guys in the us ever seen Father Ted.

This is me ..
Go on,go on,go on,go on. you know you want to. says Mrs Doyle.

At work people kindly refer to me as the pitbull... I can be pushy and just tell it like it is... Now, this can be good in my current postition and it was in my last one as well - as I do a lot of process and compliance for my company. However, I tend not to think about things before I talk... So, I was very proud of myself for not telling her "to take a picture it would last longer", or "hey, do you mind looking elsewhere for a thrill?" or "GET A LIFE" :rotfl2: I mean it in the nicest way, but she was just too weird!!!

Guess what?? Multiquote is working for me today
....
OK people need a date for the photo!
....
Oh and that story is scary! What a freak she was!

Yeah for multi quote! I hate when it doesn't work, or the button disappears ...

I think we are talking about the 18th on the Praktik Rambles terrace at 8:30am.

So, now that I have shared what the "work" me would have said (and trust me I would have... Oh the stories I can tell...) she probably didn't speak english or something... :confused3

I promise to be good and keep a DIS family attitude on the ship... Really I do!!!:lmao::rotfl2: (Just don't wear the same bathing suit as me at the same pool... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:)

Regarding the DIS photo at the Praktik Rambla, that's a brilliant idea! What does everyone think of about meeting on the Terrace Saturday morning before the bus arrives or others head off for sightseeing? The bus should arrive around 9:00. For those of you not taking the bus, is 8:30 too late for us to get together for the photo before you are off touring? We'll also know who's still in bed sleeping so the bus can get rolling on-time!

GISMO SARAH, can we please have this added to the Navigator? :) :worship: We can let you know for sure what time after people weigh in with their plans.

Weirdly I had put it on there already but without a time!

Can you walk to the cable car station at the bottom in Gibraltar? Or do you need some type of transportation to get there? I am confused from some things I read.

Thanks!

I believe you can. Its about 15 min walk into town and then I think its about 10 mins from there but never went on it as hate heights.

From looking at the rotation list shown previously, that also listed the theme nights and menus, it seemed like nights 4, 5 & 6 were the standard "Rotation" menus. I take it to mean that those are the nights that the AP show will be on. So it's not nights 1-3 that you'd have the AP show, but 4-6 depending on your rotation. Perhaps someone from the EBTA can confirm if that's how it worked with the AP show on their cruise.

Yeah I would assume, based on the list from Conceirge, that the show wont be until nights 4-5

We're doing into Gatwick from Orlando so a bit easier. Fingers crossed getting in wont be an issue. Getting out might due to baggage handling! Last time the baggage handlers went on strike there, my Dad (works for Virgin Engineering) had to go over to the terminal and help with baggage handling lol!

Honestly they are so touchy.

I need a new phone, anybody got a sony ericson mini?
It is a bit posh for me, I only want a phone, but I like the look of them.

Wow, 14 is pretty young! My youngest DS got his tongue pierced when he was 18. Pretty funny! The weekend after his birthday he was hanging with some friends and when I met up with him the next night he was SUPER quiet but when I asked him a direct question and he muddled an answer (swollen tongue), I just looked at him and said "what did you do??". Then he showed me!! He was 18 so it was out if my hands. He's 28 today and to be honest, can't even tell if he still has it!! I'll have to ask him next time he visits! :rotfl2:

however, not sure if I would have authorized it at that age. Maybe at 16-17 depending. I can remember doing some weird things in my teenage years but definitely not at 14.

Right, here is the list of participants for the jewellery workshop so far:

UKANGEL
Buckeye Gal
MagicMe
NoWorriesMate
TotallyAngelic
Granmaz
Ebony
LittleDisneyLovers

Ideally I do not want more than 10 people so that leaves 2 more spaces. Just to confirm, you will be making three items each that you will take home: a cellphone charm, a necklace and either a keychain or bag charm. I will be looking into getting materials over the weekend. So I need to know two things.
Would you rather make a bag charm or a keychain? For the necklace, would you rather go with the colours of the ship or the Villain's theme?

Corinna

Bag charm and villains colours please.

Love Twilight book, waaaaay better than the movie! The image of Edward in my head is SOOOOOO NOT what he looks like in the movie, EW! ;)

So agree

PM me if you have time for a mini Dis meet, we can ask the Disworlds aswell, they live pretty close by. :

Would love to, I'll let you know if I can get up north.
:yay::dance3::yay:

We stroll around deck 4 and usually end up stopping chatting ...

Sounds like my type of exercise

You used to have them in Australia - I used to call in to the Sydney one at CentrePoint and I think I went to one in Melbourne once too.

The Melbourne one closed about four years ago :sad1:
.

Need a slight chuckle this Sunday morning?

ZEN TEACHINGS

1. Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me for the path is narrow... In fact, just
take off and leave me alone.

2. Sex is like air. It's not that important unless you aren't getting any.

3. No one is listening until you fart.

4. Always remember you're unique. Just like everyone else.

5. Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

6. If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple

7. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

8. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

9. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he

10. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably well worth it.

I would like to know this too please :).
Also anyone from the UK, know where to get the pink tiara and boa please.?

I got my tiara from Ebay. Including shipping, it came to GBP7.98. Claire's has boas.

I understand what you're saying about desiring to wear it in AP. Since the the Club shirts aren't exclusive to just those in the DIS-linked reservations, in reality, if as a collective DIS group we want to wear it on the same night, there will likely be people in each of the dining rooms.

With that said......maybe a new angle should be presented for a vote.

1) Do you prefer to wear the MMC shirt the night you are personally at AP or as an entire DIS group?
2) When? Week 1 or Week 2?

- Note that if we decide to wear the shirts only when we are personally in AP, then this equates to First Regular Rotation Menu in AP (Night 4, 5, or 6) or the following night in the dining room (Night 10, 11, or 12).

3) In the event "survey says" majority of people want EVERYONE to wear them on the SAME NIGHT in ALL dining rooms, please vote for which night noted you would prefer to wear the shirts for EACH week. That way if your desired week is not chosen AND the votes dictate that we wear them all on the same night, you still have a voice as to when.
-Give Week 1 preferred Night
-Give Week 2 preferred Night

I think that covers it all and makes it fair. Any clarification needed to my attempt to be clear?

I'll keep track of votes as they are posted. Since Gismo Sarah needs this by the end of next weekend, I'm going to put a deadline on the voting. I want to give people time to try and catch up with all the posts, too. ;)

Deadline to Vote: Thursday, July 29 at 12:01 pm EDT

Deadline to Vote: Thursday, July 29 at 12:01 pm EDT

I vote for all on the same night. Night 11 sounds good.

Thanks for the advice. I have no idea how much it would cost to ship the broken necklaces to the UK. But I really appreciate the offer!

I just had a look on the USPS website. Normally jewellery is not heavy. Up to 3 ounces would be USD2.92, up to 4 ounces USD3.76 and up to 5 ounces USD4.60. I can't imagine that it would be heavier than 5 ounces and it might be lighter than 3 ounces.

YAY, I would prefer colours of the ship, but am just excited to be joining in. Another option could be pink for the Champagne Girls??? :lovestruck

I can't believe that I did not think of this :confused3

Corinna

OK, jewellery people. I was looking at timings and dates and I think the best option would be 19th and 21st September from 3 to 4 PM.

I am probably getting on your nerves by now, but I really like Hayley's idea of doing a Champagne Girl theme (pink) for the necklace. So there are now three options: Villain, Champagne Girl or Ship. If you have given me your preference already and would like to change your mind, please let me know.

The Champagne Girl comment also got my creative juices going in another direction. One of my suppliers does little Tinkerbell charms. So for the cell phone charm, we could either go with a pirate theme (silver skull beads and crystals in ship's colours) or with a Champagne Girl theme (Tinkerbell and pink crystals)

I have tallied up what we would need including shipping and it would come to GBP15 per person.

I will put all the info I have into a spreadsheet later and try to work out how to post a spreadsheet.

Hi Everyone -

A while back I had pulled a master list of swaps together so we coukld track cabin changes and groups, etc. On the list I have the following:
  1. FE
  2. Candy
  3. Secret mickey
  4. Post Card
  5. Scrapbook
Were there other lists we wanted tracked? Please let me know as I want to get this updated, turned into a PDF and posted (not to mention I want to print a bunch of copies to bring...).

For thsoe that are organizing those groups - if there is anything specific that needs to be on the list, please let me know!!

I have Palo tea on the 21st Corinna, you must have missed my post, sorry.

Are we choosing for our individual jewellery, or are we choosing 1 theme for us all?

I like the Champagne Girls theme even though I'm not going.

Hi guys! Long time no post!

We got back yesterday from camp. It was really nice at times, and totally understimulating at other times. We were assigned a cabin with one large bed and a small narrow bed, a one bedroom. It had a little kitchen and a bathroom. This is the same cabin where all the kids came to see me as the camp nurse so we had zero privacy, but it was ok. The mattresses were about 2" thick, so my back was not happy, but DH likes granite for a mattress so he was ok on his little skinny bed (little one and I shared the double). I tended to lots of scrapes, fuggly feet, blisters, splinters, headaches, tummy aches, earaches, etc. I earned our keep that week!

The big kids were enrolled in camp, proper. They slept in steamy and smelly cabins with counselors, swam in the pond, did crafts, went spelunking in the caves onsite, hiking, horseback riding, and had a great mosquito-bitten Ontario time. We are certain to return next time with a few more activities to keep DH and I amused (but I did take tig's suggestion and we bought Bananagrams on our one trip to town - we liked it a lot!).

Today is a laundry day: really gross kids' camp laundry. Last night I scrubbed all the kids and de-grossed their feet, and we all slept in clean beds.

The kids have been put to work today with the promise of seeing Despicable Me tonight if they do good work, cheerfully. Ok, they don't have to be cheerful, just not rot our patience with endless complaining about being hard done by and it all being "unfairrrrrrrrr!"

We're really looking forward to the cruise! This morning I am also adding a couple of more items to our FEs and getting them sealed up for packing. I've made our lists, have checked them twice, and are starting the hideous practice of packing. We started a countdown chain and will get that finished and up today, hopefully.

I managed to keep on top of most of this thread via my iPhone which got slow service whilst we were away, but some service nonetheless.

Whom do we contact for linking early dining?

Whom do I contact regarding joining the Champagne Girls?

Re: Praktik Ramblas picture meet on Saturday - that works for us!

Re: Disgroup group photo - anytime should be fine as long as it goes in our mini Navigator! Will the times for all the group tastings and activities be in there too, once we get times? And the Palo tea? I'm worried I'll forget it all and won't have an internet connection to look up our thread to keep me on track.

OUCH :scared1::scared1::scared1: I have always been way too much of a wimp for piercings ... did get ears done when I was about 19 ( and under the influence :rotfl2: ) but I very rarely wear earrings other than special occasions. I thought they had to be 16 to get pirecings anyhow. They do around here.

Oh no ... too much choice. I will now have to opt for the pirate themed charm but will stick to the villains for the other .... will save me looking for purple jewellery before we go. HOWEVER i AM PERFECTLY HAPPY WITH WHATEVER AND WILL GO WITH THE MAJORITY !!

Marilyn ... love your words of wisdom. Another pearl of wisdom ...

NEVER EAT YELLOW SNOW !!!

Welcome back Carolyn!! I had forgotten that you were at camp!

Sounds like the kids had a great time. Stephen did a lot of this type of stuff this summer as well - but was home for all but 2 weeks.

Sarah is a star and has everything in the DIS navigator!! I will be sending her the tasting info as soon as we have it.

Hope that you are able to get the camp out of the kids clothes!!

Sue

Oh dear! Poor you.
Same thing happend to me two years ago! I was sooo mad!
I wore hairbands for weeks, because it was horrible! I avoided every mirror.

Growing my hair since then.

lol, well I must say it took only minutes to dry after swimming today :rolleyes1 I would like to stretch it out a little longer though,....;)

Marilyn - thanks for the laugh:rotfl2:

sitting here drinking my morning coffee reading the DIS and now with a big smile!!

Oh dear.......must admit my dd pierced her own eyebrow at 15 and hasn't really stopped since.....she has multiple piercings, including her septum and stretched ear plugs, plus she's just had her second tattoo....:rolleyes1

Can't say I love them (the piercings and tattoos I mean) but by now she's old enough to know her own mind. I always think it's not the worst thing in the world, she's a good, caring person and isn't into drugs etc so appearances don't really phase me....

Just warn your niece to keep it very very clean...dd hasn't had her tongue pierced but her lovely  father let her get her lip pierced at 16 and it got infected and the ring got stuck inside her lip....she had to have it surgically removed in the end...:scared1: (obviously it didn't put her off)
