I do understand, as you say 14 is very young still........and I find the ear plugs really wierd too, espceially when she sticks a pen through her ear!!!

:littleangel:

One thing I have always wondered ... if ever she decides she doesn't want great big holes in her ears, what would she do. Do the holes close back up if she takes out the things keeping them open or would she need surgery.

IMHO these things like piercings and tattoos always look quite cool and trendy on the young people .... but not so attractive once you get beyond a certain age and everything starts to head south .. ie. my age :rotfl2::rotfl2:

In my job I get access to a lot more of the female anatomy than most and have witnessed some words tattooed in places which would seem very inappropriate on an elderly lady for example . :rotfl2:

Love the zen teachings. I also like - when the bus comes it is time to leave.
Tomorrow I`m going ape www.goape.co.uk. I`m chief gorilla, DD is second gorilla and two neices are baboons :thumbsup2
This evening we are walking up to Seatoller - if all goes to plan. Wouldn`t it be great if that knocked a bit of weight off!

A few things I've missed completely... "Champagne Girls"? I love champagne... What is it and how do I get involved...

"Villans Night"? I love Corrina's fascinator. I have no clue what villans night is though.

-Stephanie

Champagne girls is open to all 'girls'. No list has been made as yet, and Connie(CQuick) is doing the organising.

Just add a touch of pink to your dress for the event, and most are going to wear pink boas and tiaras. Connie is taking more is you can't get one.

I think she will be trying to get the event organised by DCL, but if not then it could be a few folk will get a bottle to take onboard. Watch our for more info!!!!

I could be wrong, but I think our Theme night hasn't been published as yet, but on the EB, and the other European cruises it has indeed been Villains themed, so I' guessing ours will be too. Some people are dressing to kill for the night!!!:rotfl2: Others are just colour co-ordinating their attire purple and black. Some are just going to observe!!!!!

My DS is heading into 1st grade in Sept. We have him slated to move to the Lower Elementary campus of the Montessori school he's been in, and had mentioned our vacation plan to his teacher, and she was all supportive of it. Plus he's currently in a year round school so we weren't worried that we'd be leaving just 1.5 weeks into the new school year. But now we're considering moving him into our local Public elementary school. DH met with the Principal there last week, and she wasn't too excited about our trip, since they see the first month as being so important in setting the routine, but given it's 1st grade, she wasn't making a huge fuss over it. Though she did suggest he keep a journal, which is current school had also recommended.

Is there any way he can stay enrolled at the old school and then not change schools until after the trip? Either way good luck figuring it out.

Well when I used to watch films from Africa etc when I was younger they showed tribes with these plug type things in their ears - often stretching the holes quite massively. It didn't look like the holes closed up but kind of hung rather unattractively!!!

I so agree about them being for the young.:rolleyes1

Is the villans night a real "masked" ball???

does DCA supply masqurade masks,

Or should i bring one along from my "collection" i'm sure i have one in my "Costume Party Room" in the West Wing.

Well, I would bring your own just in case. I believe, at least on the EB that there was chance to make a homemade(or should that be cruisemade?) mask earlier in the day so that might happen.

my understanding is that they have a workshop or two during the day for kids/people to make their own masks. But I'm sure you could bring your own.

This is a fantastic map and so useful .. I have worked out our route to Sagrada Familia and the Gaudi Houses. Thanks for sharing this. :thumbsup2

You are welcome!! We love maps and use GPS even for the shortest trips!!

We now have back up flights booked from Leeds Bradford to Barcelona! I'm thinking John is secretly wanting to be on that one!!! If we are he will have one pair of shorts and one tee shirt only on the vacation.:rotfl2::rotfl2: He can wear his suit and everything for travelling so he will look half decent on formal nights.;)

I bet you see some sights Sarah!! Yes they do close up to a certain extent eventually. A couple of years ago she took them out and let them close almost fully, then changed her mind and started stretching them again....:confused3 :rolleyes1

Nice!:rotfl2:

At work people kindly refer to me as the pitbull... I can be pushy and just tell it like it is... Now, this can be good in my current postition and it was in my last one as well - as I do a lot of process and compliance for my company. However, I tend not to think about things before I talk... So, I was very proud of myself for not telling her "to take a picture it would last longer", or "hey, do you mind looking elsewhere for a thrill?" or "GET A LIFE" :rotfl2: I mean it in the nicest way, but she was just too weird!!!

Yeah for multi quote! I hate when it doesn't work, or the button disappears ...

I think we are talking about the 18th on the Praktik Rambles terrace at 8:30am.

So, now that I have shared what the "work" me would have said (and trust me I would have... Oh the stories I can tell...) she probably didn't speak english or something... :confused3

I promise to be good and keep a DIS family attitude on the ship... Really I do!!!:lmao::rotfl2: (Just don't wear the same bathing suit as me at the same pool... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:)

There is a muliti quote button. Who knew. I just copy each quote to word then copy and paste.:scared1:

Will have to look for this button any instructions where to find it :goodvibes

OK, jewellery people. I was looking at timings and dates and I think the best option would be 19th and 21st September from 3 to 4 PM.

I am probably getting on your nerves by now, but I really like Hayley's idea of doing a Champagne Girl theme (pink) for the necklace. So there are now three options: Villain, Champagne Girl or Ship. If you have given me your preference already and would like to change your mind, please let me know.

The Champagne Girl comment also got my creative juices going in another direction. One of my suppliers does little Tinkerbell charms. So for the cell phone charm, we could either go with a pirate theme (silver skull beads and crystals in ship's colours) or with a Champagne Girl theme (Tinkerbell and pink crystals)

I have tallied up what we would need including shipping and it would come to GBP15 per person.

I will put all the info I have into a spreadsheet later and try to work out how to post a spreadsheet.

Corinna

Ok just checking what colors are you using for ship and what colors for villain

and who are the champagne girls :lmao:

ukangel, sorry about your hair cut, I had a tooooo short hair cut a few years ago, It was horrible, my family are kinda cruel as well, they totally took the Mick for weeks, they still refer to it as my ******* haircut( and dont ask)

I cut my hair in 1966 to look like Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby. Needless to say, going from waist length curley hair to shorn was not my most flattering look.

thank'you, they/we were looking at sheep, thats why they are still on leads!! my little trusty pink olympus tough, its an underwater camera as well.

My Cockers would also had to be on a tight lead!! They loved to chase and almost got kicked once by a deer protecting her fawns!! DH has the whole episode on video!

We are going to take Lens sat nav, when we bought it it was really expensive but it is loaded with all usa, canada and europe, it has a walking function on it, now though I am worried about it getting nicked as it was NOT cheap!

Would love to hear more about the sat nav. What kind is it? We bought the Pacsafe steel lock to put over DH's camera bag. Does it go on a strap? Pacsafe has some steel cable straps we are thinking of for phones and cameras. Pacsafe

More lovely pics.

Thanks!! The meet made DH and I even more excited to be on the cruise!!

Just look down in the bottom right-hand corner of any post - right next to the " Quote " button. It's labeled as " "+ ".

Ooohh, I have always wanted to try a spin class! Anyone up for one with me? Corinna, can I entice you?

My husband (Pat) is a spin class junkie! In fact by the time we get on the ship he should be certified to teach spin class. He is definately in for the class. I prefer to ride a real bike and see some scenery. He says the bikes on the ship are really nice so maybe I could be talked into 1 class.

ABout to rant

My stupid sil let my stupid 14yo neice get her tongue percied, I could happily bang there heads together.

Rant over.
Well till I see her again and she cant talk or eat:headache:

Wait til she gets the dental bills as I understand it is not good for the palate or your teeth!!
