YO HO YO HO .... A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR ME

pirate.jpg

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!

Good Onya Sarah, you finally did it!
GIVE NOTHING BACK!!!

Its an addiction, most wish they had never started and spend years trying to stop.I had this conversation with the vet at work last night who stood out in the peeing rain smoking, and then she told me she hates it and she is 28 and still hides it from her parents cause she knows its a horrible habbit.

I know it's an addiction. I have had family members that smoked, None do now. What annoyed me was my FIL smoked around his family and my children when they were babies, he knew we all hated it and wanted him to stop. Then he had a heart attack, and stopped immediately, never had another cigarette, So....if his health is at risk he will stop, but he didn't mind putting everyone else at risk for all those years????
I realise I'm being harsh, and have never vocalised this to him, or anyone for that matter, It just doesn't make sense to me.
I have never smoked or taken drugs, so obviously I don't get it... and I don't suppose I can compare it to my chocolate addiction.....:goodvibes

We are having a similar stress. We have a parrot, a cat, several aquariums and a pond with fish that need to be fed (in a garden that needs to be watered). Our parrot has a professional boarder who takes her and has agreed to taker for the full 32 days we'll be gone----so that is good. However, we're scrambling with what to do about our house, cat, fish, etc. Usually we have a friend who comes by and feeds them while we're away.....but we're feeling like for such an extended period of time we'd rather have someone actually stay in our home while we're gone. The problem being that we don't really know anyone who doesn't have animals of their own at home that they need to care for...so we're still trying to figure out what we're going to do. Jason has one coworker who still lives at home with her parents...and we were really hoping that she'd think the idea of having our house to herself for a whole month would be fun....but she seems a bit ambivalent about it!:confused3

I hope she warms up to the idea? Maybe you should bribe her with a fridge full of ice-cream and chocolate? Would work for me.....:lmao:

So sad...TShirts arrived with a flaw....

When filling out the paperwork, I put Walter on the front without knowing I was doing it. So I thought I delete the front name and added the back names.

But, Diane and I TShirts have Walter on the Front and our names on the Back...
Walt

We're all going to point and laugh at you now! :rotfl:
Seriously, don't worry, they'll be just fine. :goodvibes

Dear Corinna, all you need is a pink t shirt to be a Champagne Girl! Dresses are not really necessary, but the pink one does sound pretty. You can wear your formal night tiara to the Champagne Girls party. Also, Disney's Fairy Tale Cuvee is very nice, so you can get it right on the ship!

Connie

I wanna be a Champagne girl, I don't drink champagne, well....I like to, but my Gallbladder will punish me if I do. But I'll be happy to wear pink and a tiara, and help anyone back to their room who has had too much champagne! Can I still be a Champagne Girl? :lovestruc

Well its been a hectic couple of weeks here
I hope I didnt bore too many of you , as I am not one to really share whats going on in my life , but I do have to say , the last 20 months have been a ride ....

Not boring at all, Bit of good news, and not so good news, but no bad news, so that's great. What a great idea to book a cruise next year, it will give you all something to look froward to as a family. :thumbsup2

On the 2nd Champagne Girls get together it was all organised through DCL, with the person the other alcohol tastings have been organised through I think.

Everything was provided, the Champagne, glasses, Chocolate drops etc for the tastings, notes, and the Sommelier who walked us through the tastings, asking us questions etc. I know for the people there, those who drank paid $10, and those who sipped paid $5. You could go and watch and enjoy, but not drink, for free though.

It was excellent.

Sounds perfect! :goodvibes

I PMed you the links for the tiara sellers. The sellers are in Australia, but their prices and postage charges are very fair and I figure there is plenty of time for the tiaras to get here.

Corrina, where in Australia is the tiara place, It may be cheaper to send it to me and I can bring it for you? Pm me if you want me to bring it :thumbsup2

So what night is Walter T-shirt night?;)

Pj

OK! I'll contact DEB! DEAR DEB FALBUSCH who sent me a tiara and pink boa when I couldn't cruise with the group. I'll order the wine from DCL, I'll make sure we have a room...I hope it's Diversions......AND I will go to the Cast Connection tomorrow to see if I can scrounge up a bunch of tiaras......

Thanks for the advice! princess:princess:

I'd like to join in too! It sounds like so much fun! :cool1:

So all I need to do is call DCLand ask? GREAT!

Champagne Girls,

Lots of inexpensive pink boas at Party City. If you don't have one near you, here's the site:

http://www.partycity.com/search.do?query=boa

And lots of pretty tiaras on ebay in the $15 range (even cheaper ones at Party City).

Q for the experienced tiara wearers: Some tiaras seem to have combs and some are just headbands, how do you keep the headband ones in your hair? :confused3 Are they just for wedding veils?

Andrea (novice tiara wearer)

So what night is Walter T-shirt night?;)

Pj

Sorry I mispoke about wearing it at DISMEET...:confused3

First page reads below:

On a casual dining evening (date yet to be determined), we are planning our own Mickey Mouse Club Night to make us very disguisable to other Magic guests and to one another! It’s also another great photo opportunity! So if you would like to participate, you can purchase your t-shirt(s) at either www.DisneyStore.com or Zazzle.com.

There are variations of t-shirt styles that you can purchase (especially at Zazzle) for the whole family in a wide range of sizes. So choose your favorite style and don’t forget to personalize it with your name on the back in a LARGE font. Some DISers are choosing Impress as their font of choice, but feel free to use whatever you like best!

Walt :cool1:

I am now up to 273 lanyards claimed...out of 300!! We're going to have a very fun bunch of DISers around the ship with all these lanyards!!

I'd like Cinderellas please... :goodvibes

I use travelers checks.

Currency changes on ships are convenient but don't have good rates.

Woody

I wonder if at the hotel they would cash travelers checks...

Ohhh good... cause you know... it won't be MY turn to drive the ship... (you can drink or not... it doesn't matter... :thumbsup2

I'd like to join in too! It sounds like so much fun! :cool1:

LOL, I am hoping to make my MMC shirt up here, easier then dealing with customs. But if we are also doing a "Walter" Shirt night I need to be prepared, l:rotfl2:.

I've heard there is a liquer store in the port in Barcelona. So no extra trip needed, if you're not picky. Or you could always get a bottle of DCL's bubbly.

I heard about a liquor store after security check-in from my mother, also, but it had been a couple of years (and a different cruise line) since her last Med cruise. So, I checked with someone who was on a recent Magic cruise out of Barcelona. Here's the response:

"There was an area of stores. After we checked in, went through security and then showed our passports, we turned down the hall towards the gates. There were two ladies there saying if we went straight to our gates, we would not be allowed back in to the shopping, eating area, so if we had a long wait, we might want to go down there first before we went to our gate."

Extreme Makeover Home Edition is coming where I live. It was announced today Extreme Makeover Home Edition is coming to Berks county PA. renovation start on July 29. No idea on the who the family is. They are keeping that a secret and the town the house is in. I only know is the date and the it in Berks county. Here is a link to the article. I'll post more info when i know and Pic if i can get close enough.

Ahhhh! I have missed you all so much. It has been too long. I don't know what is going on and I have like 40 pages to read, but I wanted to say hello. I was hanging with the family this weekend because Abby left for camp. I thought I would have 4-5 days to just catch up on cruise stuff and the boards and my computer took a dive! I got my magnets made, FE Scrapbook done and stuff like that, still no cabin number, just checked, but it wasn't the same as talking to everyone about everything. I hope everyone is well.

Goofy Granny informed me about Todd and his stepson and I am so sorry to hear that he will not be cruising with us.

Okay, I am going to catch up and send some PM's to my scrapbook exchange buddies. I will continue reading all tomorrow. Thank God I have the computer back! YEAH!!!!

A cat at home with a pond full of fish. What's the problem? (I'm going to be in trouble for that one!)

I'm thinking Magicale would be perfect for the Champagne Girls. It is pink after all.

Along with notifying your bank about your travels, you may need to change your ATM pin number. Not sure if rules have changed but in 2007 the European ATMs required a 4 digit pin and it could not start with a 0 or 1 (or some restriction, I could be wrong on the numbers).

I am looking forward to buying wine at the port, or at least somewhere in Barcelona. Last TA I bout a couple of inexpensive bottles at the port and it was some of the best red wine I have had. And that's coming from a girl who takes regular treks up to the Napa Valley for some fantastic wine tasting. The Spanish Roja was so good I even packed up a bottle to bring home. I was so angry at myself when I mistakenly opened that bottle one night.

We've had a few makeovers in my area. Somewhere around here I have some pictures of Ty, Paulie and the gang. What surprised me the most was how much the 'stars' actually do work. Although I have a friend who worked one of their projects recently and she had a different impression. Maybe they've slacked off since the beginning?

I know how much work this project takes up and I will thank you with a couple of DOD!.....You guys are GREAT! I think we have cruised together in the past....EBTA '07 or the PC?

Looking forward to seeing in Sept!.

Which PC cruise did you do?

We bought US travellers cheques because DCL will cash them into Euros when we need them for Gibraltar and Madeira. They also cash them into US dollars, too. We have some cash and VISA, but didn't want to be carrying tons of cash through Barcelona - so the traveler's cheques seemed like a good way to have cashless cash and not rely on VISA the whole way.

This is what we will be doing this time.

AAA stopped issuing travellers checks, which is where we used to get them. Will DCL change dollars to Euros. I don't know how many euros I need and was wondering what my choices are if I run out of euros.

There are lots of umbrellas. We have always gotten lounge chairs under umbrellas w/o any problems, so I think you should be fine. Just don't forget the :cool2: and pirate: (shades and hat) to help keep the sun off.

DCL will change actual dollars to Euros, will exchange travers cheques and you can write ONE personal check - up to $100 to exchange per cabin.

Woody.. would it be advised to carry some travelers checks also? I heard they were doing currency changes on the ship with only cash or trav. checks...

yep that is correct - see above :)

I've seen Walmart bags used... :rotfl2: Get yourself a small/med sized tote bag at the craft store - you can decorate it if you want... just remember to bring the long zip ties (you can get them at Home Depot or a store like that...)

I have used Disney Gift Bags for 2 cruises before having a FE made - was cheap and easy.

I use travelers checks.

Currency changes on ships are convenient but don't have good rates.

Woody

I do too - we did not have much trouble with them when we toured europe - some people say not to bring them but we do and do not have much trouble :confused3:confused3

Now we did not have any problem using our debit card on the EBTA in Cadiz - our card doesn't have a chip (as far as I know) and did not have a problem with a number restriction. And I did ask my bank about getting a debit card with a chip in it before the EBTA and they had no idea what I was talking about!
