Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.7

I have a question for those who have started getting their air flight info (the B2B people) Was your airfare booked on the Med portion of the cruise(s)? We booked the TA portion first with the airfare included. Later (much later) we booked the Med portion - only the cruise, because the airfare was already paid for on the TA part. We haven't heard anything from DCL yet about our flights. :confused3:cutie:

Hi Linda..I'm not sure if you already got your questioned answered, but we were in the exact situation. We booked the TA w/ airfare the day the cruise opened for reservations. Then...about 3 weeks ago, we booked the Med portion. Disney transferred our pre-Barcelona stay of 3 nights and credited it to the Med. They also changed the date of our flight and said that we could find out our flight info at 60 days out. So...a couple of days ago I just called and they had it. She then e-mailed me all the info. You should definately call DCL and they should have your flight info as well. Good luck!!!

I have had a busy week. I sold my house on Wednesday and bought another on Thursday and here is the crazy part - they close 9 days before I leave for my ABD London/Paris trip and then the cruise. So not only do I pack for my trip but I also pack up for my move 160 km away. And I say I hate stress!!:headache: Thank goodness I have lots of offers to help.

????

Did I quote wrong?!?

I think Albert(or Ann, can't remember who is who at the moment) means they didn't originally put the quote they were replying to in the post, and their post didn't make sense!!! I read it last night and wondered what they meant!:lmao: Now I understand!!!

I just found out that a very good friend of mine is probably going to lose her house. She lost her job several years ago and hasn't been able to find a full time job in over a year. She has exhausted all of the unemployment she can get and no one will hire her. She applied at Taco Bell and McDonald's...they told her she was over qualified and wouldn't hire her. It breaks my heart and what makes it even worse is that she lives in Florida so I can't even really help her out. It's breaking my heart and I'm not sure what to do besides just being there to support her, even if it is long-distance.

That is sad, and it is heartbreaking, particularly when she has tried so hard to get a job. Just so unfair. I actually think McDonald's and others could do with taking on a few over qualified workers for a while in some outlets!!! Though, I so wish your friend could find something suitable to her qualifications. It does show she will try anything, and really that should be in her favour. It is good she has you to chat to and support her, even from a distance.

Oprah says Elastic...

I still don't understand you... :rotfl2:

About 7 1/2 weeks... think I should book??? :lmao:

I'm thinking of taking mom first class!!! I think she deserves it... :thumbsup2

Yes, a couple of elastic waist items would be good, particularly for the flight home!!!:rotfl2:
You will never understand me if you don't by now!!!;)
Try Business/Club class rather than First. Far cheaper and still a fantastic product.

When I talked to Delta, the rep said we get dinner, but didn't mention breakfast, so I assumed we wouldn't get anything. DS12 needs gluten free and dairy free meals. Delta has a gluten free option which she marked on the ressie for him for dinner. When it comes closer to the time, I'll call and ask specifically what the meal entails to check on whether it has any dairy. She didn't mention breakfast, but maybe they consider that a "snack" and don't have the gluten free option. I'm planning on taking extra food for him just in case, but it is hard to do this with the liquids/gels restriction. I may need to double check the TSA website about this.

Usually you get 1 meal and whats classed as a snack meal as you mentioned, which is breakfast. Breakfast is usually like a roll or something similar.

Ohh good luck with the move!

So, I have been involved with a system down issue at work and haven't had a moment to spare, so I have skimmed... I also want to announce that while on a 4 hour conference call I finished 4 of the 6 scrapbooks that I had sitting! I also made the decision to look at doing the last 2 as digital books as I haven't started them. But if i get on another call, who knows...

You did 4 scrapbooks while on a phone call .... now thats what I call multi-tasking. :worship::worship:

Stephanie and I headed off to Baltimore so very excited to see our friends that we have known for a long time that post on the DDA thread. We were also looking forward to meeting Becky's brother. We went to a really big mall for some shopping first. We hit the Disney Store and I found some great buys. Had to pick up a birthday gift for one of the other grandsons as well as gifts for the newborn and his two brothers. Then I went and tried on some new sneakers that are supposed to help in exercise. They felt weird but I know I need a new pair so I bought them. That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!:lmao:

On the way down, we used my GPS and I kept telling Stephanie that if she tells us to turn right but stay left, we gotta do what Rhonda says. (DH and I had to give her a name.) Well, she was a little frustrating today cause if the exit had an A or B she would say both letters and it seemed to take us around the Baltimore airport instead of a more straight route. At least she didn't have to 'recalculate' once :lmao:

So on the way home, we used Stephanie's I-phone. Hers gave a more direct route but at every exit would tell us to stay left and did not give enough warning to get over to take a certain exit. Hers also lets her know if she is going over the speed limit by a certain amount. So every 5 miles or so, you could hear Stephanie telling her phone to 'shut up':rotfl:

So since I live in a very rural location, her gps kept trying to get us back on the right track when I knew exactly where we were going. It got so frustrated that as we were turning onto the road going up to my street, the system said.................

"Please turn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(pregnant pause)..........soon :lmao::lmao:

I literally thought I was gonna pee my pants.

Sounds like a lovely day ... I love meeting up with my DIS friends. I'm going to be nosey now .... what is the DDA thread ? I see Mickey made it on the trip too :woohoo:

Wow ... are you going to be busy. You will be packing up your house as well as your suitcases. Wishing you good luck with that :wizard::wizard:

Question - what are people doing about the Candy exchange if you have 1 person in 2 of your groups? Are you giving 2 of the same bar or 2 different or 1 bar?

A couple of tips for those of you who haven't travelled far with kids before.

These are great tips! I don't have kids but I know a lot of children suffer with the pressure on decent - a lollipop type sweet is good to help release the pressure in their ears when the suck on it.

I am a Disney snob - I won't see non-Disney animated movies. I've never seen any of the Shrek movies, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda - none of them. I'm strictly Disney! :thumbsup2

I confess I thought Shrek and Madagascar were funnier (better) than some of the recent Disney stuff.

Im up for the chocolate meal... And funny, i too thought vegetarian = no meat not no dessert...:rotfl2:

LOL thats what I thought! I think its because some airlines don't differentiate between vegetarian and vegan meals so just make all the meals vegan and that makes it kinda tricky when it comes to desserts.

I too look forward to some alone time when my DH is gone. Then I don't have to listen to his snoring and all of the loud music while he continues to set up his speakers. (this has been going on for months):lmao: Of course, this is what being married for 41 years does to one person!!!

Oh the music! Robert has very different taste in music - he likes Jazz, Opera and Classical with a bit of REM and Norah Jones thrown in. I'm more a Lady Gaga/Britney Spears kinda girl so that we don't agree on.

Question - what are people doing about the Candy exchange if you have 1 person in 2 of your groups? Are you giving 2 of the same bar or 2 different or 1 bar?

I think Tony and I are both giving something different ... still don't know what though. Trying to think of something which US / AUS / NZ / Eropeans won't have seen before. May have to be M&S or Thorntons.

I was debating whether to do that or just give extras to the duplicate ones. I think I've only got 2 or 3 on both lists. Maybe Ill get something different for them!

How does the Atkins work? Tru

It's low-carbs so no pasta's, french fries, bread, and that kind of stuff.
You can eat fat things hambrurger whitout the bread. They sell shakes, and chocolate snacks i think they're great.

But you will do shakes and the other things from atkins 3 times a day, but you also can eat the good things as meat, salad, lot off eggs and fish.

There's a site from atkins where you read how it works. If you can not find it send me a PM.

Connie

You may find my 13 year old son asking all sorts of questions! He is intrigued by Germany.

Cool!
f050.gif
He's very welcome!!!

How come it's Germany?!?
smiley1670.gif
Is there sth in particular he is interested in?

For years I bought my kids and then grandkids chocolate advent calendars. Then I started with the Playmobil ones and they loved them. I have always been a dollhouse fan and love miniatures so I really love the detail that Playmobil puts into their toys. I have several sets of them to keep the grandkids entertained and try to get new ones every couple of months to keep them interested. They provide hours of play fun. Tru

Yes! Playmobil is for all kinds of ages. They even have "bigger" ones for the very little ones... without so much detail to keep it safe...

I haven't done it, Last time I tried to do one of those low carb diets I got really sick with my dodgy gallbladder. Lot's of my friend have done it and lost alot of weight.

If you google it you will find mountains of info, Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link, so I won't, but just google it! :thumbsup2

I decided to put myself on Weight Watchers starting this week. Still have some of the pregnancy weight on... Not much, but
smiley404.gif

Good luck to everyone who is trying to lose weight...

Ok, thank you... Because I didn't understand... even "with" the quote. Had a bad conscience right away.

Today is going to be a great shopping day. I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to lose 50 pounds in the next 10 weeks, so I may as well find a swimsuit that fits now. If I lose 50 pounds the suit will just be a little loose.:)

I am also thinking I should start thinking about my pirate attire. Disney Store here I come!pirate:pirate:pirate:

Also going to get my fish extender gifts into bags. And pick up tolietries. Also starting to put things in a clothes hamper that I know I need to take, like my toothbrush charger. Getting together all of the video camera cables. Going to buy film. Yes, I was just going to take video with my camera, but after seeing the movies on you tube, I now know I'm taking my entire digital arsenal with me. :rotfl: Hey if not now, when????

Putting new batteries in all my remotes. Might even bring my tripod. Know I'm bringing the little gorilla tripod. Okay, let's get this day started!!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Hope you had a great day :cool1:

The ones who have payed on Patrick's account are all recvied and no fees for me.

The ones on Noel's account that i don't now because Noel has a wedding. But we will her from here as see's back. Not worry.

Connie

Connie, I don't have a paypal account but will ask Mark to set one up later today when he's not busy. Hope that's ok......will get it done asap!:woohoo:

Thats a good point .... elasticated waists for the last few days !!!!

My aim is to start eating more healthily (again) and up the exercise (again) from Monday ( my diets always have to start on a Monday :confused3 ) I then plan to do SLIMFAST for the first 2 weeks in September. I will try and be fairly good on the first cruise week .... mostly fruit for breakfast and salad and no bread at lunchtime. On the second cruise week I will have NO LIMITATIONS !!!! BRING IT ON !!!!! :yay::yay: I will need the extra insulation as we have the UK winter to look forward to on our return.

sounds good to me Sarah!:thumbsup2

:littleangel:

I just ordered our Mickey Mouse Club T-shirts. :woohoo: We also have the First Class seat on the way!

:cool1:

Hayley - I think we are in the same hotel. We can walk through the lobby alternatively singing Disney tunes and giving rousing calls of Aussie, Aussie Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi..... Should make us popular.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:would like to see that!!!:worship:

LOL I think you guys are so sweet and funny about your DHs. Personally, I'm counting down the days until he goes away - I love, love, love having the house to myself. I take over the entire bed and plan on watching something chick flicky.

:rotfl: Each to their own eh Paula?!:thumbsup2

I'd actually recommend "special meals" to everyone - they aren't so mass produced and you typically get served first. Some airlines have better selections than others. I know when I order my vegetarian meal, that airlines such as Singapore offer a selection of vegetarian types (depends on route) but asian vegetarian, indian vegetarian etc.

For those that like to eat lightly, there is often a fruit only meal too.

Personally, I'm always hopeful for an "all chocolate" meal but alas no...

Which reminds me, I must get some chocs to take on the flight - many of the vegetarian meals don't come with dessert - what the heck is wrong with these people? :rotfl2:

Paula, my dd is vegan and on our last flight to the US we asked for a special meal.....she got a banana and a yoghurt!!!!! (made with dairy of course)....good job we'd taken food with us for her!!!!:rolleyes1

LOL are any of not Disney Snobs? I know that we are a fmaily of them. We were bored at Universal - just couldn't see what all the fuss was about...

:goodvibes No Disney 'snobs' here, :thumbsup2 we equally enjoy Universal!:thumbsup2

About 7 1/2 weeks... think I should book??? :lmao:
I'm thinking of taking mom first class!!! I think she deserves it... :thumbsup2

Yes.....Book!:rotfl2: Would you like to adopt me as a sister...then you could fly me first class too?:rolleyes1:rotfl:

We had a such a lovely day yesterday with all our friends at our BBQ :grouphug: I think our neighbours may have wondered what was going on, with all the raucous laughter and singing! :rolleyes1

Disney really does bring people together, and bring you great friends!:cheer2:

Question - what are people doing about the Candy exchange if you have 1 person in 2 of your groups? Are you giving 2 of the same bar or 2 different or 1 bar?

I hadn't even thought about that, good point. I am in 4 groups because there are 4 of us, so thought we could share the candy / chocs. Is anyone else doing this or do I need to buy some more variety? I am bringing Caramello Koala's http://www.cadbury.com.au/products/pre-teens-confectionery/caramello-koala.aspx

These are great tips! I don't have kids but I know a lot of children suffer with the pressure on decent - a lollipop type sweet is good to help release the pressure in their ears when the suck on it.

True, something to suck on works, or a drink to swallow is good also, they advise you to feed babies their bottles. Good one Paula! :thumbsup2

Hope you are all ok,
Sarah, I will e-mail you my rezy number, I dont want to ask mum re there number at the monet, but since they are linked to us I m sure it will be fine.
