Stephanie and I headed off to Baltimore so very excited to see our friends that we have known for a long time that post on the DDA thread. We were also looking forward to meeting Becky's brother. We went to a really big mall for some shopping first. We hit the Disney Store and I found some great buys. Had to pick up a birthday gift for one of the other grandsons as well as gifts for the newborn and his two brothers. Then I went and tried on some new sneakers that are supposed to help in exercise. They felt weird but I know I need a new pair so I bought them. That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!:lmao:

On the way down, we used my GPS and I kept telling Stephanie that if she tells us to turn right but stay left, we gotta do what Rhonda says. (DH and I had to give her a name.) Well, she was a little frustrating today cause if the exit had an A or B she would say both letters and it seemed to take us around the Baltimore airport instead of a more straight route. At least she didn't have to 'recalculate' once :lmao:

So on the way home, we used Stephanie's I-phone. Hers gave a more direct route but at every exit would tell us to stay left and did not give enough warning to get over to take a certain exit. Hers also lets her know if she is going over the speed limit by a certain amount. So every 5 miles or so, you could hear Stephanie telling her phone to 'shut up':rotfl:

So since I live in a very rural location, her gps kept trying to get us back on the right track when I knew exactly where we were going. It got so frustrated that as we were turning onto the road going up to my street, the system said.................

"Please turn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(pregnant pause)..........soon :lmao::lmao:

I literally thought I was gonna pee my pants.

We really had a grand time and hated to leave.

baltimoreddameet.jpg

What a fun, wonderful day!! I love the way GPS gets frustrated when you are in a rural area and take the way that you know is the best route home. :rotfl:

I'm getting closer... we get an update on Monday

& I'd definately put you in first class...

Hey Ang... are you bringing Bobby with you??? Planky wants to know... Ohhh what trouble they could get into... :rolleyes1

Bobby is not with us. He may be in North Carolina. :confused3 I'm not sure who has him now.

I haven't done it, Last time I tried to do one of those low carb diets I got really sick with my dodgy gallbladder. Lot's of my friend have done it and lost alot of weight.

If you google it you will find mountains of info, Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link, so I won't, but just google it! :thumbsup2

I lose no weight doing this and get REALLY constipated. I know, way too much information.

I have had a busy week. I sold my house on Wednesday and bought another on Thursday and here is the crazy part - they close 9 days before I leave for my ABD London/Paris trip and then the cruise. So not only do I pack for my trip but I also pack up for my move 160 km away. And I say I hate stress!!:headache: Thank goodness I have lots of offers to help.

Wow! Congratulations and congratulations! You will be a busy gal!

I think Tony and I are both giving something different ... still don't know what though. Trying to think of something which US / AUS / NZ / Eropeans won't have seen before. May have to be M&S or Thorntons.

Dennis and I will also be giving something different. His favorite is Snickers, so that will be his gift. I'm thinking Reeses Peanut Butter Cups maybe or Mounds or Almond Joy.

We had a such a lovely day yesterday with all our friends at our BBQ :grouphug: I think our neighbours may have wondered what was going on, with all the raucous laughter and singing! :rolleyes1

Disney really does bring people together, and bring you great friends!:cheer2:

:littleangel:

You are so right about that!! Glad you all had a great time.:woohoo:

Thanks for explaining Marilyn, my apologies to FrauP. Of course it was Albert, Ann is more DIS Boards savvy!

Albert

Hi, Albert!! We are so looking forward to seeing you and Ann again!

OK I'm getting confused! Here are the 2 versions I have on google both of which shouldn't ask for access but then again who knows - oh and they are identicle just uploaded twice:

Number 2 works for me, number 1 does not.

Sue, I always thought it odd to schedule the first formal night on Day 3, when we visit Gibraltar. The all aboard time is 5:30, and first seating is at 6:00. What were they thinking?

Typically, the first formal night is on the first sea day.

Let's see what the concierge says.

Woody

that is so true, even if people came back early to get ready a lot of people are going to want to watch as we leave Gibraltar. It doesn't make sense surely they will change this.

Thought I would post this incase anyone else was interested. I have sent it off to the concierge to confirm, and hope to hear back tomorrow - and I will modify for any changes.

diningasofJuly11.jpg

How does one know what rotation they have? :confused3

OK .... have you tried Thorntons choccies Woody. I am assuming you don't get these in USA / Australia / NZ / mainland Europe. I want to give you something you haven't had before !!!
Thorntons chocolates are delicious. I have only seen them in the U.K.

Last month in England, we even started our day with M&S Triple Chocolate Crunch cereal. Scrumptious.

that's very helpful, Sue. Thanks

Thank you for creating and posting the dining rotation. Is there anyway to know which group you are in before you get to the ship?

It is so nice to have all your knowledge available to us.

Val

Isn't funny how many of us (at least me!!) spend half of my time thinking about diets and the other food?? val

DCL were originally saying Night 2 was formal night but are now confirming Day 3 is!

Well, Let me start off by saying, I know I am a Disney snob.
So, we took the kids to Warner Bros Movie World today (we just bought an annual pass to MW, Seaworld and Wet n'Wild waterpark, as we live 20 minutes from all of them). Honestly, I know we have been spoilt by Disney, but seriously....is that the best they can do at Movie World, It was tragic. I might be being a little harsh, but I just couldn't help comparing to Disney, anyway, the kids enjoy the rides, and since it is less than 5 mins from home, it will be easy to pop over for a couple of hours anytime. One positive....Scooby Doo is very cute!

Being completely ignorant, sorry, I had never thought of the difficulties people in wheelchairs must have when travelling. I do find it unbelievable that there is not any allowances for people with disabilities on board the planes, Is this all airlines or just some? Your comments have really shocked me!

I hope they sort out your seating issues! That sounds like it is the least they can do...get your booking correct!

A few years ago I organised a trip for some children with life threatening illness and their families. Virgin Atlantic were the only airline in the UK to fly longhaul and have free Oxygen on board if needed. All the other airlines wanted to charge even if we didnt use it
Seems airlines still have a lot to put right.

Corinna, They look beautiful, How special, having custom designed your own jewellery.(yes we spell jewellery different, also colour, mum.....).:thumbsup2

The jewellery is lovely, is it expensive ?

It was me, don't worry, we definitely make up for it every time we travel, I don't know how many more Minnie's Bella can fit in her room, she's already reminding me she doesn't have a 'sailor minnie'! :rotfl: And I have to admit, I kinda like her Minnie room too! :thumbsup2

Minnie mouse is my favourite character as well.

What you haven't packed yet, what have you been doing? I have had big lists, small lists, sub-lists, mini lists, packing lists, to do lists, shopping lists, FE lists, candy/choc swap lists, special things for people lists, tips lists, wish lists, excursions lists, magnet lists, etc......even lists of lists.........Am I a little nutty?

I have lists, then more lists, then even more before I finish packing. :rotfl:

I reckon if I lose some more weight from now, then what I am now will be what I soon will be into the cruise, so clothes that fit now will be great!!!!

Now, what to do about my size by the end of the cruise!!!!:rotfl2:

We usually put on at least 1/2 to 1 stone per holiday. This time will be worse as we have two weeks dining at WDW after the cruise.

Thats a good point .... elasticated waists for the last few days !!!!

My aim is to start eating more healthily (again) and up the exercise (again) from Monday ( my diets always have to start on a Monday :confused3 ) I then plan to do SLIMFAST for the first 2 weeks in September. I will try and be fairly good on the first cruise week .... mostly fruit for breakfast and salad and no bread at lunchtime. On the second cruise week I will have NO LIMITATIONS !!!! BRING IT ON !!!!! :yay::yay: I will need the extra insulation as we have the UK winter to look forward to on our return.

This sounds like a good idea but I know I couldnt stick to it.

Well our GPS took us for a fun ride on the way home. It did not give me enough time to get in the correct lane and we end up in Inner Harbor Baltimore. Little side trip. Beside that I had alot of fun.

We thought about Disney dining, but it makes me eat far too much;):lmao:, so we decided against it. Probably will never do it again to be honest. We also like eating off site, or snacking it a bit. However we did enjoy it the first time, not quite so much the second.

Hi, K! This is the Bob half of Valbob, and Valerie usually does the board work. We have gone through the TSA trials a lot. Take disposable "spring water" type bottles, and if you haven't finished them by the time you reach the inspection area, pour out the water. You can refill the bottle from a drinking fountain. We do it every time. Also, don't remember whether it was you or another writer, but if the flight isn't late night, you can buy things in the secure side of the airport -- expensive, but cheaper and more selection than on the plane.

bob

Great idea about the water bottles - we actually carry a camel bak (each one of us has one plus an insulated sleeve for it that we carry everywhere on trips like this - and we usually fill them with ice/water on the other side too - it is hard to fill them at the water fountain so that is why we buy a bottle.

Our flight starts at 9 am and then a 4 hour layover in Atlanta - then we get on the "overnight" flight at 4:25 and get to Munich at 7:55 am - so we will be taking some food to eat along the way.

LINKED EARLY DINING

Just a reminder that I need the primary name and ressie number in order to link our dining. Looks like I just need to hear from alexandmaddie, SandieDVC, Grmmybtty, and Hoagie Pie (I know yours is coming!).

Also, if anyone else would like to join the group for early dining please let me know.

I wish we could link up with the big group but we really want our server who we had on the WBPC and the EBTA - we even changed to late seating last cruise so we could have him! I know you all will have fun! We did ask to sit a larger table so hopefully we will meet someone!

Good onya, you need a few more conference calls and you'll be all ready with your WBTA book. I really wish there was a good digital scrapbooking program that works on a MAC, anyone know of one?

Nope, you definitely take out the Momma Bear title! I'm just training :rotfl:

I have been reading - they are working on the CM Storybook Creator for MAC - so it is coming - still trying to find out when! And I do know I read somewhere if you have certain things on your MAC you can run it - but I do not understand it all and am still looking for the info.

Question - what are people doing about the Candy exchange if you have 1 person in 2 of your groups? Are you giving 2 of the same bar or 2 different or 1 bar?

There are 4 of us and we are in 4 groups and I plan on bringing something different for each of us - I think - it will not be all chocolate (except for the chocolate only one - as we will be traveling several flights. I was thinking about bringing moon pies as my chocolate thing :) but have not decided yet.

It's low-carbs so no pasta's, french fries, bread, and that kind of stuff.
You can eat fat things hambrurger whitout the bread. They sell shakes, and chocolate snacks i think they're great.

But you will do shakes and the other things from atkins 3 times a day, but you also can eat the good things as meat, salad, lot off eggs and fish.

There's a site from atkins where you read how it works. If you can not find it send me a PM.

Connie

ohhhh that is why I never have tried it - all the good stuff is a no no!

Unfortunately you can smoke on verandahs, and on Deck 4 Starboard at certain times, not during the day because it is a running/walking deck.

No smoking around the children's pool.

Otherwise you can smoke Starboard, Decks 9 & 10. Nowhere inside at all.

And (no offense to smokers) on these long cruises, they have to refuel at places AND there is NO SMOKING during the refueling which takes most of the day - I actually was up on deck 10 during a refueling and this guy was up there smoking and I told him he could not smoke and why - and he said - oh so that is why none of the ashtrays are out! I am not a smoker and smoke bothers me but there are places Disney says they can smoke so that is fine - but I just did not want to see the boat blow up!

Krisann

Can't you get a Windows emulator for the Mac. If I'm not mistaken the latest versions of the Mac OS will run Windows programs, too.

Even so, Memory Manager and StoryBook Creator are only supported in USA, Canada, and Mexico. You can use it elsewhere, you just can't get official CM support.

Where all nervous, tonight Holland plays the final against Spain.

But the orange dressed people having fun all over the world.

Connie

I am excited to see that I am not the lone person anymore coming in on Saturday of the cruise - CandyApple and HoagiePie get in 10 minutes before me!

How are you all going to the port - I have not decided yet - even thinking of doing a "private" driving tour of Barcelona for an hour or 2 before heading to the port - not sure!

Krisann

We had a Disney transfer in May and the Coach did a mini tour around Barcelona first. There were quite a few sites that he visited. You cannot get out of the coach though.

Sarah it will not let me see the Navigator on my main PC, it says I have to sign in, but on my little notebook, it opens straight away.

Hope everyone has had, some nice weather over the weekend and had a good time with family, friends or even shopping .
I had a lovely B.bque with my big kids and Carl, but am really tired now.

For those who watch the Football (not me, but Carl does) I hope you enjoy the Cup Final tonight.
At least we can all cross off another weekend closer to our Cruise :) :cool1::cool1:

Well, I've been working away and parting at weekends so have really struggled to keep up, Mum has been reading but hasn't yet managed to post, that could be seen as a good or a bad thing, depending on which way you look at it :rotfl:

The navigator looks great thanks to Sarah (Gismo) and PJ. Signed up for the pins, thanks Connie and Noel, and we have decided to link our dining so I'll PM Sarah (Totally Angelic) with our details - still no room number though!

Candy swap, we have gone with a selection of treats in a bag so everyone gets a small taste.

Had a great day yesterday as we went cruise shopping too! Shoes - check, dresses - check, swimsuits - check, jewellery - check, smart tops - check. Did a mini packing run with all our evening wear and some day wear under 20 kgs - check. When do we leave :confused3 don't think I can wait 10 weeks:rotfl:

Pictures of dresses jewellery and friends and family have been great. Keep safe it will probably take me another few weeks before I have time to post again - as have another 6 weeks working away in my diary so far - so enjoy yourselves.

I had this issue the first time that I did DDP! I found I was taking desserts back to the room after every sit down meal and never eating them. On the last day I had 4 counter service meals left and about 5 snacks so had to buy loads to take on the plane! Unfortunately the drinks I brought were confiscated as forgot about the liquid restrictions!

This time we have 6 nights of free Counter Service dining. I think this will work well as we can use our snacks around EPCOT food and wine and then have breakfast each day at the resort and a snack meal in the evening. Hopefully will work out OK? First time Dan has done dining so I'm going to have to make sure he gets everything hes entitled to with meals!

Anyone know what you get with a counter service breakfast?
