When I talked to Delta, the rep said we get dinner, but didn't mention breakfast, so I assumed we wouldn't get anything. DS12 needs gluten free and dairy free meals. Delta has a gluten free option which she marked on the ressie for him for dinner. When it comes closer to the time, I'll call and ask specifically what the meal entails to check on whether it has any dairy. She didn't mention breakfast, but maybe they consider that a "snack" and don't have the gluten free option. I'm planning on taking extra food for him just in case, but it is hard to do this with the liquids/gels restriction. I may need to double check the TSA website about this.

You should take food for your son. 12 year olds need a lot of food! :lmao:
There are lots of dry things you could bring, he can get soda and juice on the plane. He could pack himself a whole backpack full of food, and everyone else will envy him while they are eating airline food:woohoo:

Well I heard that Villains is a regular dress night not a formal or semi formal....so probably we will not make the vests (the vests I make are tux fests that have no back...like the inexpensive/easy ones you can rent----so they won't look good without the full get up). On the up side, however, Jason and I do have coordinating Disney Villain ties already that have many villains on them (although the color scheme is more red and black than purple, but I'm sure they'll still work).

I guess i WON'T bring my cruella deville outfit this time! On the Baltic, I had to leave my pirate outfit at home this time!

Getting and closer...........................:goodvibes

I'm in the Dis chat room now is anyone is free to come chat - icon is on the red toolbar towards the top of the screen - second option. Logon with your DIS username/password.

I think maybe people with kids out there should respond but wanted to say although I had added this to the post no one had volunteered for the map thing at all it was a suggestion someone had a while back. Maybe this one will get some people to respond??? Want me to add this to the post telling people to contact you? See how many people want to try?

Sure if there are families interested I do not mind helping create this. My daughters we little when we went to germany and enjoyed learning about their customs. Just trying to pay it forward. Great expierence watching children learn and be poisitive

Nope not doing B2B :( wanted to but Hubby can not get the time off. So did not even check :)

Yes I do have a room after making a payment after we got the letter that said they would guarantee an accessible room they upgraded us to and 8 inside window.

Have you stay in the cat 11 accessible room. It us huge really it is huge. If you want pics let me know. I was kinda sad to get a inside window cause the room looks so small compared. But then again we have never stayed anywhere other than an 11 rofl.

Yes we too are hoping for a balcony but I think it is slim to none lol.

Since you are doing b2b you have a much better shot :)

Glenn and I are thinking about doing the Madeira trip. It is just too hard to decide since I never know how my walking can be. It goes from not bad to terrible rofl. And I tired a lot.

Isn't it just sad that Disney makes no effort to help people who have mobility issues get on tours. They are just not good at this area at all. if you come up with any for the trans let us know :) thanks

Ruth, do you have a cat 8 HCP room? if so, yes it felt smaller then the cat 11 HCP rooms. It does feel longer but narrower (a similar shape to normal staterooms) then the squarish feel of the Cat 11. I have done a cat. 11 twice (6147) cat. 8 once (6000) and we were upgrade to a cat. 6 last cruise (7636) I would say that the cat 11 was a similar size to the cat 6 except for that whole balcony addition, lol.

PinUpdate!!!!

We have reached 100 pins so we can order the pins.

If you are going to pay Noel, you must first determine how much the dollar is versus the Euro. In order to determine how much 4.5 Euros, you must first attempt to make order of 4.5 Euros to determine how much to pay Noel. Do not complete this order. You are only using this method to determine how much the actual dollar cost is pay in Euros. Then you can pay Noel the actual dollar amount which she will transfer to Patrick in Euros in your name.

As with the Euros transfer, please use a Personal transfer and say it is a gift to avoid fees to be charged to the recipient.

Noel's paypalaccount is birkner@needinfo.com

Patrick's paypalaccount is p.vanmaaren@chello.nl

Please send your money to one of us with your both your DIS name and your email address before 21 July so we can order the pins on time and in the numbers of pins we want.

If all the money is received before that time, we will not be able to order the pins at that price, so it is critical that all the money be collected before that time.

Connie will take the pins with her on the Cruise and hand them out on the first Dismeet or if you are not going to the meet, she can arrange to meet you in the boarding area in Barcelona.

Noel and Connie

Payment sent, & I ticked the box for me to pay the fees.

I have a question for those who have started getting their air flight info (the B2B people) Was your airfare booked on the Med portion of the cruise(s)? We booked the TA portion first with the airfare included. Later (much later) we booked the Med portion - only the cruise, because the airfare was already paid for on the TA part. We haven't heard anything from DCL yet about our flights. :confused3

:cutie:

So, we are on the same ATL to BCN flight. How long is your layover? Ours is 3 hours 45 minutes. Enough for some schoolwork to be done. What seats do you have? I'm glad they put you together, not in four separate rows like our family.

The Delta Agent said the plane is 2/3/2 and Abby and I have a window/aisle, which is great. I am glad no middle on this plane for our seats. I don't have our seat number yet, he told us, but I was so darn excited, I didn't listen. I will let you know as soon as we have it. I will probably wear my lanyard if I meet up with Erik beforehand. YEAH! We can start partying early - I see you have 2 sons my daughter's age. Abby thinks she will be too excited to sleep, she has never done this before so I think she is in for a rude awakening. Our layover is approximately 2 hours. Cannot wait to meet up!

You normally get dinner after you board the plane before "bed time" and then about an hour before you land they wake you up with a small breakfast - nothing major - but still breakfast.

And while we are on the topic as many of us will be flying from the US to Europe on flights that will have food - consider requesting your children a "children's meal" even if they are older - mine are 13 and 15 and I still request it because they normally do not like the "adult" meal. We will also be bringing us some snacky things in our bag incase we do not like any of the food.

Food is not an isssue on the plane/TSA - you can even have a "carryon" with food that will be consumed onboard and not have it counted against you - I use one of those bags that fold up to the size of the palm of my hand and fill it with foods for the plane ride - then we just get drinks on board or after secruity (we normally buy a water)

I thought about the children's meal for DS10, but I was worried about it being a smaller meal and he wouldn't get enough to eat. What do you think?

He is definitely eating now. We only recently found out about his gluten and dairy issues. He's been off them for almost 2 months and just recently he has had a ravenous apetite. He gained about 3 pounds in 2 weeks. I follow this closely for him because he is 5 foot 2 1/2 feet and just now weighs 80 pounds. At dinner tonight, I suggested that I could bring some corn chex for him. DH said how about a whole box and DS12 agreed. Now, this is a kid who previously could have cared less about eating! So, the backpack of food may be necessary! More room for souvies on the way home!

Lucky you! If you have your reservation number, you could look your seats up online. That's how I saw that the plane was full.

DS10 didn't like the idea of sleeping on the plane, but I told him that then he would wake up and it would be time to go on the Magic. I hope he sleeps!

I cannot believe 10 weeks! It sure will go by fast. I worked on my FE scrapbook exchange gift today. Steffy - I hope you had fun shopping - sounded like a great day to me!

The jewelry that was made was just beautiful! I am looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up.

Andrea - I think if he has a lite snack, he will be set and ready to eat on the cruise. Abby is counting the days for the chicken fingers and pizza. If we don't eat the first hour we get on, she will be very sad.:sad1:

I am not going to take a tour because I have been to Barcelona before so I want to head straight to the ship and relax!! Takes me a while to settle down from the flight and not sleeping and everything else. I will just be glad that I landed and SEE the ship!!!

Money sent to Noel for 6 pins. Thanks!

Sorry it's late, but we've been at a wedding all day!

A couple of tips for those of you who haven't travelled far with kids before.
*Order the kids meal, it is a good sized meal and it gets brought out before everyone else's meals, that way you can get the kids organised and fed before your own meal comes out.
* Don't give them too many sugary snacks, there is not a lot of room to burn of sugar on the plane, LOL!
* Keep them up late the night before the flight, make them tired, it is easier if the kids can sleep on the plane.
* Bring stuff for them to do, colouring-in, journals, etc....I do bring my kids Nintendo's and iPhones but limit the time on them, they are so stimulating they would play them for hours!
* If your airline doesn't supply blankets, bring one, it can be cold on board, the blanket is comforting and can also be used to block light. Also a squishy small pillow is great.
* For younger kids, bring their favourite toy, or whatever helps settle them. Don't even think about trying to cut down on luggage and not bring it! But, don't leave it on the plane!

My kids travel very well, but I have seen many tantrums and unsettled kids on planes, It's not pleasant for anyone, so I say "whatever works" to keeps the kids calm! :thumbsup2
